I have never had a bad experience here. Jonathan, the bartender makes fabulous drinks.
Such a treat and excellent service! The first of each month gives you an opportunity to donate to St. Jude. This is a loud and friendly place with excellent food and drinks. The staff is friendly and helpful. My friend is disabled and they always accommodate him and offer any help. Free ice cream in your way out if you saved space. They are featuring their new menu come check out the new items such as new tamale plate. I love the Diablo Chicken!
This place is a MUST! Great variety and amazing food! The chips are light and dips are so good!
I've been here twice... the first time I had the appetizer combo plate, it was way too much food, and so the next night, I had yummy leftovers!!! Yesterday, I had chicken enchiladas, and they were excellent. I had eaten too many chips and dip and couldn't finish my meal again! Yay, leftovers tonight! I definitely recommend this restaurant. We didn't have to wait but a couple of minutes for a seat. The wait staff was quick and efficient. I love this place.
Thanks Laura!!! Great customer service and attentive. Food perfect like always!!!!
We are always coming here and it never fails. Food is great , staff is awesome and always Clean. Will definitely keep coming back.. Pollo marisco is my favorite. Wife loves the Cadillac strawberry margaritas. You really can not go wrong with any plates here. At some times it is very busy but for us it's worth the wait. Only thing that sucks is no parties bigger than 10 are seated here but if that's the only downside here then it's really not a downside.
This is definitely one of my favorite spots...the steak tacos, chicharron w guacamole appetizer and 🍹 were perfect! Service was great, very helpful and food delicious! highly recommend 👌 🤌
I went today for lunch and the food was great. I have always loved gringos. This was my first time going to this Gringos and my waitress was amazing! Helen attended us so great and was checking up and making sure we were good. She is such a sweetheart and so thoughtful. I will definitely be returning for sure.
I absolutely loved every minute of this!!! I ordered the Yucatan which is Tilapia, fried, then covered in a seafood cream sauce. The portion was nice and the fish was really flavorful and we'll prepared. I ordered the house rice and I also ordered the Charro Beans that I really enjoyed. The service was timely and we really enjoyed this experience. Will definitely return!!!
Delicious, awesome friendly service Great Drinks and Atmosphere, I haven’t been to a Gringo’s in years but this location has me wondering 🤔 why I havnt been back !?
Marcus L the manager is Awesome, he gave me a Comolimentary Gift Card, because my wait was a little long
Amazing customer service e good people good vibes definitely good spot to take family enjoy a amazing day especially after work
The food was really great, and the wait time was really short. I would highly recommend this place for excellent Mexican food to eat. The staff that works there were very friendly to us and got us our table in no time. For a final note, the ice cream machine there and the restaurant is a really nice touch after you've eaten your meal. Definitely would eat here again.
Nicholas was very attentive and friendly. Made sure our food was hot and prepared like we wanted.
Celebrated a family’s birthday and it was the perfect place for 5 of us. The server was very nice. This location has been remodeled and it looks so nice. The only take away is that the wait might be so long at times, over an hour but overall food was good. Favorite plate is Plato marisco Michelada, so yummy! They also give you a big cup. Recommend coming here 😄
Sierra took really good care of us today! We were kinda in a hurry cause we have quite a drive but everything came quick!
Love Gringos, the food was great, had the premium ribeye on a hot sizzling fajita style plate, the ribeye street tacos and the pollo marisco; The tres leches cake is always the best dessert as well as the ice cream on the way out the door😂. The service was outstanding. Will be going back for seconds 😉.
Great service and nice decor. Excellent presentation. Plates are $10-$20. Flakey chips and good cold red salsa. Beef fajita and AL pastor were so tender and delicious. Excellent chunky tortilla soup. Beans and rice were seasoned perfectly. Free ice cream by the bar area. This location is a little better than the Fuqua one but they're both good. They have a rewards program. Nice place for the special occasion. They get really really busy so try to go during off hours.
Lots of seating so people get in quick. Food is fresh and so good. Good range of spicy and not spicy. Good selection for kids also. Free ice cream always a hit
Ive been coming here to this local gringos for almost 6-ish years, and have loved their food! I got the chicken nuggets with fris, my brother got the chicken taquitos, and my mom got the beef tacos! They bring you salsa and green sauce with crispy chips and the Queso dip is warm not spicy but not plain, like a type of comfort food. They also offer free ice-cream! (I dont think its dairy ice-cream but if your lactose intolerant id ask just to be safe)
Great food. Great service. Went with 2 nephews after they helped me with a renovation job.
Franchessca was our server and she was absolutely amazing!! She literally has an amazing personality and she was so kind and willing to help. You can tell when people like their job and truly helping people and she does! Brian was also amazing!! He came by and checked on us and his smile says it all baby!! Thank you so much for all the kindness!
Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen is hands down one of my favorite spots! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the staff is super friendly and attentive. Every visit feels like a great experience. Highly recommend!
THE ORIGINAL!! Still just as great as always! Best green sauce ever, everything was delicious. Great service too of course. Five stars!
The staff and food were excellent as always. I had my first date with my husband 20 years ago and we were able to sit in the same table with our teenage sons to celebrate. Thank you Gringos staff for making that happen
Ashlee, our server, did an amazing job. She treated my family so kind and friendly. Also one of the managers, Maddy was super helpful in everything too. I highly recommend this location. Very cool place 🙂
I’m a regular at this location. I’m guessing I go here at least a few times a week. Without question my favorite dish is the chicken fajitas. Always consistent. Always good. As good as the fajitas are, though, the service is even better. Tristan, Brock, Kaleb, Reuben, etc., are always fantastic servers. They make you feel like family. Thanks, Gringo’s, for always taking care of us.
I highly recommend the fajita club salad, it's delicious. The meat is seasoned and tender. Donovan is an excellent bartender and provides world class service. He was helpful and the various salad dressings and he even brought me another selection after I informed him that it was a little too spicy. This meal after tax was still less than $23. They provided a second helping of chips. If you are in Pearland, you won't be disappointed.
How is it I’ve never reviewed Gringo’s!!! I’ve been coming here for years. Their food is in the TexMex hall-of-fame. Most of the locations will be packed all the time and this one is no exception so get here early or prepare to wait. Best enchiladas around and the salsas are lit! Definitely come by if you are near one.
We went to one of the very first Gringos Restaurants. We were a party of 10 and our waitress, Angie was absolutely superb. Highly recommend.
Kaleigh was outstanding, she was bubbly and sweet. Made sure I had everything I needed and then some. She was attentive and provided the best service I’ve had in a very long time. If only servers were more like her!!!
Our wait staff was very attentive impatient. My daughter is on the Spectrum and she had just won a gold medal through Special Olympics and each and every waiter and busboy that came by she stopped them to show her accomplishment. They were patient and seemed very interested and congratulatory and just was extremely kind. They were not impatient with her and they stopped and took the time to interact with her when she showed them which made her happy which in turn made me happy. They also made sure that our food was delivered in a timely manner and that everything was to our liking without over hovering which to me is just as bad as not paying attention to a table at all. We were all very tired so I did not remember to get names but while the food was very good the service is what clinched it for me
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Pearland. When I visit, I always request Jacobi as my server — he’s the best! I’m addicted to the chips and salsa and would recommend the chicken enchiladas or steak quesadilla. 10/10 rec
Had an amazing experience, the ambiance, service, and taste of the food is so great! Kendall was our waitress and she was ontop of everything and had phenomenal service! We will be making this our go to Gringo’s location!
My Uncle’s Memorial lunch was today at The Original Gringos and Helen was assigned to our private banquet room. Gringos in general was awesome as always, but Helen took SUCH good care of my family. She boxed up all the leftover food and helped us pass it out to family too! When you come to The Original, ask for HELEN! HUGO and Vincent and Fidel all helped me pull this off today too. Blessings to you guys🙏🏼
Wednesday night and very busy, here with family from the area; their favorite Mex. Had tamales that were great, can't get them this good in central Illinois. Wife had the shrimp empanada appetizer & loved it. No margarita pitcher so Mex beer for me & Pineapple margarita for the wife.Service was what you would expect, price was reasonable.
We eat at Gringo’s fairly often, but I’ve never left a review. The service here is bar none, seriously. You won’t find better, more attentive servers anywhere else. Sure, you might get a server having an off day every now and then, but no one is perfect and it doesn’t stop us from coming back. We had a nice chat with the manager, Derrick, today. We told him about the amazing service we received today from Luke. He went above and beyond. I know managers are used to hearing complaints, so if you have great service, call a manager over and give a compliment. This world needs more positivity! I should add that the food is consistently good, as well. Nothing on the menu is “bad.” I’d even recommend trying the burger at least once.
Me and my wife ate early on Valentine’s Day at the Gringos in New Caney . I must say that this place is quickly becoming our favorite. Besides their food being fantastic I feel that their management really cares about making your trip to their establishment a memorable experience. I also feel that their service staff work great as a team. We will definitely be eating here many more times.
We did have a long wait, even after putting ourselves on the list prior to driving to the restaurant, however, it was definitely worth it. We were a party of 7, and after we were sat, we must have had the best server in the restaurant. The service and food were very good and our family had a very nice time. I am grateful for the service and I hope we can return soon.
After reading reviews and seeing parking lot we definitely had to try. Initially the worker in the foyer area had me worried. Wasnt as friendly and wait was quite extensive - way longer than the expected time they gave us! Then we get seated and from this point on the rest of the our experience was amazing. Brought plates out as they became ready which kind of sucked because the fastest eater got his food first and the slowest last 🙄. Aside from that... food was great drinks were awesome ice cream great. Chips and salsa was great!!!!!!
Ordered some things to pick up as a Togo. They forgot one of my dishes ordered and I got all the way home (about 4.5 miles away). When I called to explain I had only come in for a night to get my braces off then had to fly back to Nebraska for work the next day and wanted to enjoy Mexican food but didn’t receive my order, the manager Derrick, was absolutely AMAZING! He got off work (about 20mins later) and he brought the food personally to my home. It was the most wonderful experience I ever received from management and so glad he is such a perfect guy! Thank you!!!
I came here last year with a man named Juan. He was my boyfriend at the time. The bartender told me that he was with a different girl before him and I arrived together that evening. I believed my boyfriend over the bartender. I told the manager and she apologized and she gave us a free queso. I also gave a really nasty review. I think I deleted it, if not, here is a better one. We ate, and left. Just a couple months later, I found out he abused my son and was in fact cheating on me. I should have believed what the bartender said. He’s a good guy. That is what being a good person is all about. I am sorry for any of the problems that I have caused and hope he goes good places in life and I want to thank you. So… thank you and also, I am sorry.
The Original Gringo’s in Pearland never disappoints! We came out to celebrate my friend’s birthday—this was her spot of choice—and it was the perfect place to celebrate. We ordered a variety of Mexican dishes and every single plate was delicious. The food was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you crave when you come to Gringo’s. Our waitress, Lauryn, was absolutely amazing—attentive, kind, and on top of everything the whole time. She went the extra mile and surprised the birthday girl with a piece of tres leches cake, and it was incredible. I really wish I had gotten a picture because it was that good! If you’re in Pearland and looking for great Mexican food, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere, I highly recommend The Original Gringo’s. Total win for food and service!
This restaurant was absolutely amazing, and a huge part of that was because of Robbee. His energy, service, and personality took everything to the next level. He made the whole experience fun, welcoming, and memorable. He knew the menu so well, gave great recommendations, and checked on us at the perfect times. You can tell he really cares about making sure people enjoy their time there. Robbee made our visit stand out in the best way. The place is great on its own, but he definitely made it unforgettable.
Overall the food was good, the server was attentive. This was our first visit the only negative I can say was the ribeye street tacos had a lot of grizzly steak I could barely chew. The pieces that were tough I fed to my dog. The sweet tea had an old taste. Everything else was on point. They have soft serve ice cream in the waiting area, that is a nice touch.
Usually, people focus on small complaints, but in my case, I want to highlight the excellent experience I had dining here. Everything was impeccable—the restaurant was spotlessly clean, the presentation and integrity of the dishes were flawless, the flavors were outstanding, and the service was exceptional. I felt truly welcomed and respected as a customer. Every detail mattered. I’ll definitely return because it was well worth it. My server, Luke, was prompt, professional, and courteous.
We always sit at the bar and Ata, Kat, and Luke take great care of us. Fun and friendly staff with great drinks and Mexican cuisine. The El Capitan platter is Amazing! Pico lime butter on it is out of this world! If you didn't know, you can order fajita steak the way you like it cooked, including Rare! Amazing place!
The best TexMex food I've ever had! The service is always good the atmosphere is nice. You get a lot of food for a resonable cost.

Friendly staff. Yummy food. Totally hit the spot for Tex-Mex enchiladas cravings. You can never go wrong with ordering any of their items!

There is very very good food, good price. Kindly people and they delivery fast. You must go to the gringo’s
The good quality is average, but tasty. Nothing special, but it's a safe bet for what you'd expect basic Mexican dishes to be. It's also a little pricey for the lack of menu elevation.
Was very busy for being so early in the evening. Be ready for a wait. But not to worry, they have a very nice bar area you can wait at and have a excellent margaritas. Happy hour is from 3-6 great drinks specials.
Definitely a good place to go but not great. Food was just a notch above average. Friday night was very busy. 1 hour and 30 minute wait for a table. We started with the free icecream first and finished with the free icecream. Service was great. Waiter kept the chips and salsa coming because the food took awhile to get there. Chicken enchiladas were ok, rice was ok, beans were pretty good. Queso was also really good. Would go back on a not so busy night.
This restaurant is our families go to sit down mexican restaurant in the Pearland area. Reasonably priced food, decent portions and typically good service. The vibes are just right at this location. Not to long ago they had some construction which really made the place nice. The only reason I can't give it a 5 star review is its a chain. I personally prefer non chain restaurants.
Purchased beef fajitas for two to-go. 100% of my food was cold including the borracho beans. I've also eaten inside and the food comes our warm. Total disappointment. Mexican food should be served HOT!
Service was outstanding even though they were slammed with lunch time payrons. Plato Solano was almost fabulous. The tamal was the best I've had in ages, as was the enchilada gravy. The fajita soft taco left a lot to be desired. The guacamole was very good but the chip cup it was in was stale. That being said, the basket of chips were fresh & tasty along with both dips. Now for the one star drop:. I tried the "Southern Margarita", WAY too much artificial peach flavor in it. But to their credit, they replaced it with a standard frozen margarita that was quite satisfactory. This was my first time in a Gringos and I'd return.
I would normally give a five star, food is very good, best fish tacos, I always order the Veracruz, is the combination of grilled beef and chicken fajitas paired with bacon wrapped shrimp. A meal for two. They have great customer service but the only thing I have to say is the “TO GO” staff great but the food is always cold, I think it has to do with the time It sits on the counter other than that it’s great!
Every time I come to gringos I'm usually left pretty satisfied. The servers are mostly nice, but a lot of the times forget to come back to fill up drinks. The food here is fantastic! I've yet to order something I didn't thoroughly enjoy. The atmosphere is great, loud music and conversations fill the establishment. Rating 9.1/10
I grew up in Pearland, so I’ve been eating here for years. I now live in South Texas where authentic Mexican food is readily available. I still enjoy the food at Gringos when I come to town to visit my folks. I can’t give the food a 5, because the Mexican food in South Tx is more authentic, no offense.
The enchiladas were good! The southwest eggrolls were a pretty mixed bag. On the one hand, they were room temperature and very chewy where they should have been crisp. That first impression was pretty bad. But they were tasty enough I ended up eating the entire plate regardless. I was kind of embarrassed about that, but yeah...they were good. If served hot, they'd probably be dangerously tasty.
Good food. Service can be scarce for how busy it gets, and the noise level can have you shouting across the table just to talk. Not my cup of tea, but the food is the main reason id go back.
I plced my order for pickup. I had the smothered burrito. I didn't care for the flavor of the ground beef inside it. Tossed it out. The rice and beans were good. The green sauce was good but a little spicy for me. I added some sour cream to tone it down. Maybe I'll order something different next time.
Chips, Salsa, and queso are all cheap and bad. Ambiance is nice. It's always packed (not sure how) but the fajitas are good !!!!

Ordered my food to-go, they were very quick and my food came out nice and hot. My fave was the chips and salsa-the chips were so fresh and crunchy, but not too hard, just enough for a good crunch
Ordered dinner for two. The chip portion was very underwhelming. You would think for two entrees you would get a larger portion. At least we had some HEB chips already at home.
It is most likely the last time we will eat Gringos. We normally eat there at least 3-4 times a month-yes, we like it that much, and we have a large family so it's not cheap-and we always order to …

I am local to Pearland location and has seen this restaurant flourish and become a brand with multiple location and now close to my Conroe vacation lake house. I always enjoy the food and the atmosphere and didn’t mind the wait as it got more popular with the years. I have one simple complain and the reason for my one star to draw attention to a particular request I expressed to the manager. Consider kosher compliance with cocking food with LARD. Specifically the flour tortillas. We try to stay away from meals that use LARD when we ask if it’s cocked with any LARD, but the flour tortillas are essential to many dishes like the Fajitas, why insisting on making it with LARD. That is something so simple to satisfy us even as small clients in the area. We COPATED other Tex-Mex places near by ( Papasitos, ….) no LARD in the flour tortillas and we understand some places still use LARD, but as I said we stay away from it. So please Gringos( All Locations) consider changing g this role or make Flour Tortillas WITHOUT using LARD. LARD IS NOT THAT HEALTY anyways. Thanks
Pretty average food. I tried this place for dinner. We ordered pineapple margaritas (which were delightful)both frozen and on the rocks. We ordered kids meals and the Veracruz fajitas. The kids meals were ok. We ordered the nuggets and a kids taco. They’re meals comes w drinks and soft serve ice cream which is a bonus treat. The Veracruz came out smoking hot and sizzling. The portion size is big enough for two meals. The customer service here is average. We had a decent meal and the kids enjoyed the ice cream. If I’m ever near this place again I may drop by.
Service was good (even though they were busy). Food was really bland. Beef fajitas tasted like they weren't even seasoned. Chips and salsa were meh. The tortillas tasted fresh though.
This Gringo’s in Pearland has a fun, welcoming vibe and friendly staff that make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. The restaurant is bright, clean, and has that classic Tex-Mex charm, colorful decor, upbeat music, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Service was pretty quick, and everyone was polite and attentive, which I really appreciated. The chips and salsa came out fresh and warm, which is always a great start. The food overall was okay, not bad, but not amazing either. Some dishes lacked seasoning, and the portions didn’t quite match the high prices on the menu. Honestly, the prices were a little outrageous for what you get, lol. You’ll definitely feel it when the bill comes! On the bright side, the free ice cream by the front entrance is such a nice touch, it’s creamy, sweet, and perfect after a salty Tex-Mex meal. It’s probably one of my favorite parts of the visit and a fun little perk that kids and adults both enjoy. Overall, Gringo’s is a solid spot to grab Tex-Mex once in a while, especially if you’re looking for a comfortable place to sit and chat over a meal. It’s not the best value in town, but the atmosphere, service, and free ice cream make it worth checking out at least once
I went to a going away party at the original Pearland location. It was 12 diners, so it would be considered a large party. The decor is festive and on brand for the Gringo’s franchise and most Mexican restaurants in the Houston area. All of the dining rooms were open, which makes for a very loud atmosphere. We were seated at the table right next to the kitchen, that has a serving shelf right next to the dining room. Literally, I could not hear someone speaking loudly to me from across the table. The food was not bad, but none of the dishes were stand out in the vast sea of Mexican restaurants. The one thing that Gringo’s does well, in my humble opinion, is the creamy avocado sauce for the chips. Service was good and our server even accommodated our request for separate checks. A gratuity was added to our checks because of the large party. Parking is easy with the large, free parking lot, but the restaurant is popular. Be prepared for a wait time and they will not seat your party until a certain percentage of them are present. In summary, not a bad restaurant, but there is nothing new or exciting in the land of Mexican food at this establishment. It is tried and true Tex-Mex classics.

I placed a Togo order through the app to pickup. I arrived a little early, sat at the bar and Alec one of the bartenders wouldn’t even look at me. He kept walking past me and ignoring me. The other gentleman was very polite and took care of me. I had one beer and left after my Togo order was ready. My enchiladas were cold once I got home and my wife ordered fajitas and they did not place the tortillas in the bag. Overall the service and food could use improvement.
Love going to Gringo’s. They have consistently good food and drinks. Hostess was very nice and welcoming. Got seated quickly. Our server though, Bria.. was very cold. Didn’t really welcome us, rushed us to order, brought us the bill before we were ready… not sure what her problem is but all the other servers were super nice to their customers. If I do go back, I’ll ask not to be seated in her section.

Helen is an awful server. Her service was almost as bad as her attitude. My husband and I came here for his birthday today and dealing with her attitude completely killed our mood. We have been here many times over the years and have always had great service but today was a very disappointing experience.
Im really upset that the server tried to scam us, Sure it was only $2 but its still dishonest . My 9 year old asked for tomato and lettuce of his child's taco and this guy brings us a whole plate of lettuce and whole plate of tomato just for 1 small child's taco. Then I noticed he charged us $1 per idem. It kinda ruined my whole meal. Every place Ive ever asked to add tomato and lettuce to a kids taco they have no problem with it , But this guy was trying to pad the bill.
They refused me a sale of chips n salsa even after mentioning they cost $ I guess took me for a fool or something because I mentioned “i have $”!but I called back and it was the same manager, and I not only think he had a low it but sub customer service skills to match 🥱 not convinced to return “I can do much better as a manager position “ 😮
I've been going to this location since they opened in the mid 90's. Sadly, the cliche that all good things come to an end is true. The real problem isn't the food, it's the utter lack of efficient or cohesive customer service in their To-Go operation like many other reviewers have noted. I arrived to pick up my $70 to go order, and texted my name and space number as directed upon arrival. After waiting 10 minutes with no response, they bring out my order...with the wrong food. They did replace it very quickly, but I missed the fact that the side order of queso was missing until after I got home. When I called to let them know, they said they would add it to my Tex-Mex rewards account to claim for next time. It's been almost two weeks, and of course that never happened. If this was an isolated incident, I would brush it off, but slow service and incorrect orders have been a common theme the last SEVERAL times I've gone, at entirely different Gringo's locations. It seems something has been lost in their rush to become a large corporate Tex-Mex powerhouse, and until they figure it out, I probably won't be back.
