I really like the food at this restaurant. I’ve eaten here and gotten takeout several times. Szechuan Spice is in my top two Szechuan style restaurants in the Houston area. Looking for a Szechuan restaurant close to home, I stumbled on Szechuan Spice. I’m so happy I did. The parking lot here seems to fill up quickly but there are usually a few spaces available. The ambiance inside is mostly quiet and very casual. The staff is polite and helpful whether I’m dining in or taking out. The first dish I ever tried here was the Cumin Lamb after being introduced to it by a friend. This is a fantastic, flavorful dish and while very spicy, it doesn’t overwhelm or take away from the savory flavors of the lamb or vegetables . The cumin flavor is excellent and blends perfectly with the other spices. Another spicy dish I recommend there is the Three Flavor Pepper Chicken. I wasn’t prepared for the flavor packed into this chicken! The crispy breading hiding the succulent, juicy chicken mixed with chili’s and peppercorns was amazing! The portion size is incredible as well. Not wanting to stop the spice journey, I’ve also indulged in several fish dishes. Boiled fish in Hot Sauce, Hot and Spicy Fish, Fish Jump Out of Water, Spicy Fish Fillet with Soft Tofu, Crispy Fish in Thai Chili. Holy Mackerel Batman!!! When it comes to fish, Szechuan Spice doesn’t miss! No jokes or riddles here. Cat Woman would love all the fishies here. I really cannot decide what my favorite dish is. Cumin Lamb and Hot and Spicy Fish might be my top two but narrowly so. You cannot go wrong with anything I’ve recommended so far. Egg rolls, Cheese Crab Puffs and Hot and Sour Soup are all good as well. You may not expect to find some of the best Szechuan food in the Houston area in Pearland but you would be pleasantly surprised to find out you could be missing out. Don’t miss out! If you have no reason to come to Pearland, you have one now. Check this place out asap!
This is a great, comfortable place for a strip center. We had a light linner. She had the Wonton Soup which was huge and had vegetables including mushrooms and bok choy. It was a flavorful departure from typical wonton soups. I had the ultra tasty Green Peppercorn Chicken. I enjoy the flavor the hard-to-find green peppercorns adds to meats. The tingling effect of the peppercorns plus the spice of the jalapeños results in a delicious combination. Definitely recommend this local spot known its hand-made Bang Bang noodles. Enjoy!
From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Our server anticipated our needs, offered fantastic recommendations, and made our dinner truly special. The dish are exceptional, especially the peking duck soup. Everybody loves it.
First time here and I’m already planning my return. I love trying new spots, and Szechuan Spice in Pearland did not disappoint. I ordered the Three Flavored Pepper Chicken and the spicy garlic edamame and both were excellent. The chicken came out in a big portion, perfectly crispy and packed with bold flavor. The heat builds as you eat, but it’s balanced and intentional, not overwhelming. You can really taste the layers of spice and seasoning. The edamame was just as good. Garlicky, savory and the kind of appetizer you keep picking at until the bowl is empty. I also loved the vibe inside. The restaurant is clean, modern and comfortable, which made it a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the meal instead of feeling rushed. Between the generous portions, the flavor and the overall experience, this was a great first visit. If you enjoy flavorful food and trying something new, Szechuan Spice is definitely worth checking out.
A wonderful place as I walked in, looking for a spicy Asian dish for lunch. I ordered a Thai iced tea, which was perfectly balanced with its coconut milk. For lunch, I ordered a banh mi that they make from scratch and the special stuffed noodles. They let me know it was going to take some extra time since it was made from scratch, which I appreciated. Then I ordered an orange chicken lunch special, which was spicy, and I enjoyed it. I would have preferred real orange slices in the orange chicken, which adds to its authenticity. It came with an egg drop soup, which was delicious. I would definitely recommend coming to this location for authentic Asian Cuisine. Your service was great and quick; the server was very attentive and checked in at appropriate times, making sure everything tasted great.
AUTHENTIC! FRESH!! DELICIOUS!!! Everything we had from my Thai iced tea to the soup dumplings to my Kong Pao Chicken! Rice was fluffy and the sauce was flavorful and delicious! My only complaint is that it’s not closer to my house! I’d be here twice a week if it was!!! Service was amazing! Our server was so helpful and friendly!
My husband and son went to lunch together and they brought me back some food. It was my first time eating at this restaurant. The food was very good! I got the sesame chicken lunch special, and the hot and sour soup. Both were very tasty. We also had a to go order of bao, which had a little problem with how it was cooked, but a call to the restaurant resulted in a satisfactory response. They were quick to make things right, and very pleasant in doing so. We will be eating here again.
This is not your ordinary oriental food. I normally don’t eat Chinese food because it’s normally just soggy and reheated like buffets and sitting down at a place as normally the same exact thing. I was deeply surprised when I took my dad here for his birthday. Everything was super fresh And really good that I actually went two days in a row. Completely surprised how good the food was. My general TSO chicken was crunchy, which is unheard of and amazing.
Their online ordering system is super easy to use. They do tell you if the dish includes an order of rice already - that way you are not double ordering rice. The price per quality is very affordable for the portion that you are getting. The food here is very comforting, especially on a raining day. I highly recommend the sweet and sour chicken and the salt and pepper shrimp!
Szechuan Spice, located near Pearland Town Center, is a clean and family-friendly Chinese restaurant. The flavors were outstanding, the service was excellent, and the portion sizes were generous. It offers great value for money. Be sure to try the Three Flavor Pepper Chicken and the Crispy Milk dessert—they’re a must!
Wow! The food here is incredible! From the moment you walk in, the tantalizing aroma of spices and garlic has your mouth watering. Being our first time, we sampled a variety of dishes, and honestly, we couldn’t pick a favorite—they were all fantastic! The Kung Pao chicken had the perfect balance of sauce without being too heavy, the garlic chicken was phenomenal, and the dry pot quickly became a top contender. The lo mein combo was a highlight—the shrimp were huge! The garlic-spiced edamame was absolutely addictive. Even though we have to drive 40 minutes, it’s completely worth it. We’ll definitely be back!
This restaurant does more of a family size portion and by all means bring your family, friends, or a huge appetite. I love how the tofu is cooked/fried. Flavor and added ginger and garlic is delicious on the kungbao tofu. Plus all the veggies in one plate is a huge plus for me. My husband really enjoyed the tom yum soup. It’s spicy/lemongrass flavor. It had a lot of protein in one large bowl. Pricey but you get your money’s worth and left overs too!
I'm a habitual customer there. The food is awesome. I really love the Pekin duck and the soup, the dan dan noodles and the stir fried eggplant. Price wise is cheap and you can get enough food to serve a lot of people. Really recommended for take out or delivery as well. The fish soup is also good. They should serve a bit more traditional pastries for dessert and also ask about the rewards points subscription that they have before paying.
I really love the egg drop soup. My friend loves the Hot and Sour soup. They give large portions and the sauce in our Chicken with Broccoli and Garlic chicken were both thick and flavorful. I think the Garlic Chicken tasted better. My sauce was a little on the salty side - possibly MSG.
Ate here for dinner, was pretty busy on a wednesday evening. I loved the biang biang noodle! The fried rice that came with the entree of pepper beef was old and smelled funky; told our server and replaced it with a fresh bowl of fried rice. Will be back to try other items; hoping they can do a better quality check on their fried rice.
The food here is good. We had Egg rolls - light crispy but not too much flavor. The pocket stickers are like boiled dumplings with chicken inside. It was okay, but there was nothing to rave about Basil Chicken - Delicious, very big portion and seasoned well with the right balance of vegetables to complement the dish Cumin Lamb - A must try. It would have been better if it had been much spicier, but that's a personal preference. The lamb was tender and nice. It goes well with rice, so do try. Overall the food was good and we will be returning again. The portion sizes are absolutely huge, so be ready to eat and take a to go plate home. Great value for money.
The food wasn’t bad, but we order General Tso that was supposed to be spicy, it was not hot at all even though it had a jalapeno by it on the menu. Egg rolls are mini & you just eating dough. I would not be going back. Not worth the money.
We used to order here at least once a week but will stop because the food is always hit or miss, it’s never consistent. We had company visit and when we ordered here, we found a bug in the silverware. Then last night we decided to try again and the kung pao was lacking flavor, the rice was mushy and the sweet sour chicken was very overcooked , stringy& chewy. For how much it costs to eat out for our family of 5 (75-100$) I wouldn’t recommend this place and probably wouldn’t eat here again at least for a while.
Mediocre dishes with fancy name. Over priced. I had the "pork belly with leeks" chef's special. Yeah. Its bacon and greens and not good. 2/10 ain't coming back
We decided to try this place out. The atmosphere was average. The service was ok, there was only one server, which made it slow. The food wasn't very good. We ordered Wonton Soup, Orange Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Pork Fried Rice. The Wonton Soup was cloudy and tasted like mushrooms - my mom said like dirt. The Orange Chicken were large chunks and the sauce was a thick viscous consistency, not very appetizing. The Sweet and Sour Pork sauce wasn't as bad, but still slimey. The Pork Fried Rice was bland. Maybe we ordered the wrong menu items. It was overall disappointing.
