Amazing homemade ice cream with a variety of seasonal fruit flavors as well. I highly recommend visiting here.
We just had ice cream, so don't know much about the chicken dinners. If the ice cream is any indication, it must be great chicken! The serving sizes were huge, and the service, even during their busy time, was amazing. Friendly and Fast!
The best ice cream around. The many variety of flavors never disappoints. Always a must visit every summer.
Its very popular It was busy but the line moved fast Place to sit outside that's covered Enjoyed Bought a cute t shirt thst says There's nothing wrong with me that a little ice cream won't fix
Love the food, chicken is always great and the ice cream is great.
i love this place. we always make a point of stopping by for lunch once a year anyway when we're in the direction of Keuka Lake for the day. you get a lot of food for a really decent price. you can make anything into a combo which i always do (i love their corn fritters, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes etc). they're known for the chicken but i don't eat meat so i always do a combo with their black bean burger (which is really hearty). only actually had the ice cream once i think, but they have a huge variety. good vibes all around, plenty of seating both inside and outside. great spot
I really liked the chicken dinners. Hard to tell who was in line. Inside was a little tight but there were adequate tables. Also an outside gazebo/shelter for added summer seating. The chicken flavor and tenderness was excellent. Great place to stop for a bite to eat in Amish country shopping market country.
Small family restaurant with fantastic fried chicken and ice cream. Our family of four had a great time playing yard games while waiting for our food. Saved some room for ice cream, fun flavors and generous portions. Parking lot is large for the size of the actual building. We ate outside because inside can get cramped. It looked like they have a drive through too
So many flavors of ice cream to choose from. They offer there ice cream in gallons and pints to go , as well as ice cream cakes and sandwiches.
They have a drive thru! Delicious ice cream. Salted caramel nut is worth the drive from MD.
Visited my favorite local establishment while on Keuka Lake. Seneca Farms always bring a smile to my face, they have a HUGE selection of ice cream options, all that are delicious. I got my go to.. a large strawberry milkshake, simple but so great. The staff was nice and helpful when deciding between options. They’re always smiling!
Great food, great ice cream in many flavors made on premises by second generation folks. Ice cream cakes ( can be made to order if called in a few weeks ahead) and ice cream sandwiches too. Cool t-shirts, and sweatshirts!
Best pumpkin custard ever! Friendly customer service too. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area again!
Been here many times. Everything I've had is amazing. People are friendly. If you haven't been there you should go.
I was a bit worried pulling in because it was packed, so I expected a long wait, but to my surprise, despite being filled to capacity inside & having quite a few orders ahead of us, we ordered and had our food within 10 minutes. The food was fantastic & the customer service was impeccable... probably the best customer service I've experienced in years. 100% satisfied & I highly recommend this local legend in dining.
Fantastic chicken and sides!!!! Great ice cream too!!! We'll be back next season!!!
Absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and so is their homemade ice cream. We camp at Keuka state park every year and we go to Seneca farms for food and ice cream twice during our week stay. The staff is very nice too.
Busy busy busy! But, quick and friendly service. Lots of ice cream flavors. Sundaes, custard, hard ice cream, ice cream cakes, half gallons to go! Local treasure!
Always the best place to go for homemade ice cream! They have a huge selection and constantly have new flavors. The chicken is really good too. Both are a must try!
My favorite fried chicken ever!! This small town vibe eatery is a local favorite. Their ice cream is great too!!
Delicious custard. Always busy, but in a good way. Whenever I am in town, this is a must stop.
Great service, plenty of flavors, hard and soft ice cream shop.
if you like fried chicken, do yourself a favor and get to Seneca Farms; it's absolutely the best you can find! PLUS, the ice cream parlor is awesome as well, always good flavor choices and a friendly staff!
Ice cream is the go to here and they have lots of flavors and great shakes. On the food side try the fried chicken, you will not be disappointed! Lots of things to keep kids busy outside , very clean and service comes with a smile!
Great home made ice cream!! Fried chicken is very tasty and the salads are just like at home... love the Mac salad and the potato salad. Soak they didn't close for the winter but that makes it that much better when they reopen in spring !
My favorite ice cream is the cappuccino crunch and triple chocolate dipped in chocolate with chocolate sprinkles! I can't get enough.. the white mountain raspberry and soft serve cookies and cream is also mouth-watering. Drumsticks, fries and the homemade lemonade mix are my go to for lunch. I love the cocoa-cola theme and super friendly staff. =]
The homemade ice cream along with the atmosphere was awesome. Very friendly staff and the decor brings you back to the days that were like they should still be. Spacious and shady outdoor tables.
The best flavors for ice cream I’ve had in a long time. Lots of variety, and everything was good.
The ice cream was incredible! It was very busy, yet the ladies working were hopping and getting the orders out fast. Did you know there is also a drive through?! What a fun experience. Can't wait to come back. Keep up the good work!
I’ve been coming her for at least 15 years and I have always been satisfied with their food here. Their chicken is like no other in the region and the inside has a nice “classic” feel to it with a bunch of Coca-Cola retro stuff. There is a restroom inside, and has plenty of outdoor seating. Menu has a good variety of other food besides chicken. Prices are still reasonable even with the recent price increase on some of their products, but still satisfied with the food and service!
Thee words. Homemade Ice Cream. Is there anything else? Lots of cool flavors and pretty solid soft serve. The fresh waffle cone was delicious as well, do recommend. Only gripe. We need larger representation of chocolate chip vanilla at ice cream shops. It slaps.
Fun place! 40 flavors to choose from. Yummy ice cream, friendly staff. Pricey but a special treat.
During the dinner hour with Keuka College resuming classes tomorrow, it was BUSY! A good sign! Had heard great things, now I know why. Delicious chicken dinner with large pieces of chicken, tasty corn fritters (to be eaten with maple syrup), mashed with gravy and cole slaw. All very good, couldn't eat it all!!! Fun Coke memorabilia all in the red and white theme. Very fun! Will make a special trip to eat here again.
Seneca Farms is a Penn Yan treasure. You go for the ambiance and stay for the food and/or ice cream! It's so delicious and fresh! They are dog friendly. Plenty of parking at their main building or across the road. Outdoor seating is available along with a few places on both sides of the building (one side is food and the other is the ice cream). If you've never been, you're missing out!
Chicken is really good. Mac and cheese is the typical food service mac and cheese. But i like that mac and cheese anyhow. Beans are ok. Neither takes away from the rating. Service was quick and friendly. If you've got the time, eat here, it won't cost anymore than a fast food joint and you're supporting a local business.
The corn fritters were top notch and the chicken was very good as well, although I wish I got different parts that included more meat. Mac salad was Mac salad, but the Mac and cheese was very tasty. The ice cream was pretty good, although the homemade soft serve isn’t as creamy as say Perry’s. Yet Perry’s doesn’t have different flavors of softserve like Seneca Farms. Overall a great place for dinner and desert!
The best ice cream you will find! So many flavors & you can buy 1/2 gallons for a super, super reasonable price! Also, you buy 10, get the 11th free with a card! & the staff, Jeeesh. So friendly & enthusiastic! There’s so many places to sit & a kids center outside. So many good things to say about this place. Also, my personal favorite is the very rare bubblegum ice cream they have 😋
One of my favorite places to visit in Penn Yan.. their food is amazing. If you've never been you should definitely put it on your list of places to go. They do get pretty busy around lunch time so if you're in a rush you should plan to order a head. However even when they're busy, the wait is usually only about 10 minutes or so. Sometimes seating can be difficult as it is a small restaurant, but they have additional seating outside. In addition to their food the ice cream has made the list of one of the top ice cream dives in western New York. Again.. definitely worth checking out if you've never been
Great ice cream place but if you’re not looking for a pint of ice cream, you want a child’s portion. Definitely not more than a single scoop. Younger people might like two scoops.
Super cute spot to grab some ice cream and enjoy the great vibes! It didn’t take long at all to get our order in, and the ice cream was delicious. We also checked out the diner next door, and it was just as charming—the staff at both places were super friendly and the service was quick. Definitely would return!
Great place to stop and grab some lunch or dinner ! Great selection of food way more then just chicken (chickens awesome tho) I love the fried claims ! Portion size is great, one 3 piece meal easily feeds me and my wife...we get two when we stop for lunch so we have left overs for dinner !
Excellent ice cream. Awesome place, plenty of outdoor seating with coverings to keep off the sun. Very clean and very friendly staff. We'll definitely be back. Many flavors too choose from. Don't walk, run there it's that good!
Really great ice cream, made inhouse. Multiple flavors of both hard and soft ice cream, sodas, milkshakes and sundaes. They sell their hard flavors in pints and quarts. They also have food - homemade soups and "famous fried chicken". We'll try some of that next time.
Fast, efficient and friendly service. Fantastic ice cream they make themselves. My wife said their fried chicken is outstanding! I had a seafood trio meal with fried fish, clams and shrimp. Came hot and delicious. I really enjoy fried clams, but it's hard to find someplace that does them right - THIS IS THE PLACE! Oh, and don't forget their corn fritters which are nothing short of amazing.
Great family friendly place to have a bite to eat and top it off with ice cream. The large and spacious outdoor seating area perfectly accommodates groups with kids & pets. Seating is both covered and open. Food was delicious.
I never thought of a corn fritter in a sundae. That is literally the best thing I have ever tasted! Service was friendly but that sundae is to die for! One of us got fried chicken and it was the best fried chicken we've had! Highly recommend. Not greasy, great flavor in the breading. Pieces were of ample size. Would definitely have again!
This is one of the best places for ice cream! I especially enjoy their soft custard schedule that changes weekly...the flavor combos they come up with are incredible and not to be missed; I try to go every weekend for my half sized kiddie cone that only costs $2. They always have the backup basic twist but with flavors like peanut butter and dark chocolate twists, black raspberry and vanilla, and cheesecake with strawberry, etc...who wants a basic one? I absolutely love that they also do a sugar free option and that's just the soft serve. The homemade regular ice cream options are also incredible. Even on a busy weekend night the drive through for ice cream is always very fast.
My wife and I have been doing some sight- seeing in the Finger Lakes region (visiting from Texas) and just happen to drive by and the white and red exterior caught our attention. We turned around to go back and check them out (5/25/25, their 75th anniversary). The parking area was very busy as well as the dining room and the enclosed pavilion out back. At first we walked into the ice cream shop in front but then we went to the back for the dining room. The lady at the counter asked about taking out order and we exlained that about the curb appeal of the restaurant from the road got our attention and we had never been there. She was very pleasant and helpful with describing what they had to offer. We decided to get a 4-pc meal and share just to try it out. I do not regularly eat fried chicken (on the bones) but we after taking a few bites, we just looked at each other amazed at the taste of the chicken and how well the chicken was cooked. Today, we made a special trip to to drive back here from Bath, NY, just to have lunch. We ordered the Family Meal just so we could take some with us to eat later. Hitting the ice cream shop next specifically for the Banana Split, which uses the 3-flavors of ice cream like I remember a a kid (in Illinois). Most places we have seen around the country (including DQ) uses all vanilla ice cream with the jar flavored toppings. This place is as good as it gets for great dining in the Finger Lakes area. Enjoy!
20250521 Came here to get some fried chicken for my finicky pup. The ladies working here are very nice. I ordered a garden salad and 3 pieces dark meat with Mac and cheese and beans. The garden salad was ok. It only has iceberg lettuce, cucumber slices, tomatoes and some cheese. I don't recommend it unless you really need some veggies. It would have been better if they add an egg. The fried chicken was delicious! My pup loved it! The corn fritters were amazing!! The best I ever had! I would definitely come back for their dried chicken. The entrance to the diner is on the side where the parking lot is. Facing the street is the entrance to the ice cream shop. The employee working in the ice cream shop was soooo nice and informative. I didn't get ice cream because my pup is diabetic... no more ice cream for her, and I can't eat it in front of her. The ice cream products look delicious! They have ice cream cakes and sandwiches too. He mentioned they have a gift shop across the street.
Delicious homemade ice cream! The place was hopping on a Thursday night! Service was fast! The selection of flavors was expansive! The cookies and cream and butter pecan and salted caramel were delicious!! Outdoor seating is great! A slice out of pure Americana! This is what I think of when looking for a small hometown Summer evening ice cream shop!
Seneca Farms in Penn Yan is a must-visit. Their homemade ice cream is creamy perfection, with countless flavors to choose from. Even though the ice cream is their claim to fame, one should not overlook their crispy fried chicken. It's a local favorite. Friendly service and a casual atmosphere make it a great spot for families.
Best fried chicken in the area. Everything is fresh made and of high quality. You walk in and get the old nostalgic feeling. Ice cream is some of the best I have ever had, rotational special soft serve flavors are some of the best, pumpkin cinnamon was probably the best ice cream flavor I have found, but only around in the fall. And don't forget the corn fritters!
A fun little place apparently known for their fried chicken and ice cream. They offer a small dining room with eat it or take out, they also have enclosed outside seating. The menu is huge with so many options. I will say the chicken is very good. Corn fritters seem to highlight the place, but they were just ok imo. I am a huge fan of these "unique" hometown drive in restaurants. This place is def a gem. The staff is very friendly, food is well worth it and the place is always busy so that says something.
What better way to end a trip than fried chicken and ice cream! This meal was incredible but definitely but us in a coma hahah! We loved getting to enjoy this place with good friends!

Great service, great chicken, definitely a must-go if you're in the area. We had a chicken combo and chicken sandwich and they were both awesome!

Really good fried chicken and amazing soft serve ice cream! Friendly service. Love the outdoor seating.
The best fried chicken around the area! Easy and comfortable atmosphere, we ate in the dining room and enjoyed the picnic style ambiance.

Great ice cream stop. Amazing staff and choice of flavors home made delight. Also came back for the chicken dinner. Old style service. A popular spot. Delicious.
Great vacation spot outdoor seating area is relaxing and fun Great Fried Shrimp corn fritters and ice cream Mac and cheese needs help but great time eill be back!
I was so excited to visit the restaurant given the feedback. I have to say the chicken tenders were fantastic. However, the mashed potatoes tasted like instant rather than homemade. Same for the Mac and Cheese. The ice cream is yummy and something you should try.
Friendly service, delicious corn fritters, and wedge fries, and really cute decor. Some indoor seating and lots of covered outdoor seating as well. However, having been a vegetarian for 14 years, I can say that their bean burger is the worst I have ever tasted. It’s so bad I’d rather they not even offer a vegetarian option on the menu!
One of my favorite summer stops. This place has great fried chicken that I can't get enough of. Their corn fritters are worth travelling for as well! Get your dinner in the back, then stroll around to the front and have dessert with some in house made ice cream. Fantastic flavors and great variety, there is something to try every visit. They also have a drive thru for ice cream if you don't feel like getting out of the car.
So we visited this place in town on a Saturday and were blown away by the ice cream (and corn fritters my girlfriend said)!! I had the cappuccino and double dark chocolate peanut butter on a cone while the lady had almond joy and coffee (both on cones). The ice cream was lovely though the heat outside directly tried to turn it into cereal milk. The same building also had more traditional food options which we had mac n cheese, cole slaw(house salad), corn fritters, and mozzarella sticks. Only thr fritters were good most of the other food lacked seasoning or sauce choices to add to their experience. Customer service was great... though pretty sure our order taker wss baked more than any dinner roll was. Give it a try if you are looking for a sweet treat!!
I’ve only had the ice cream, but it is the best! It’s always crowded, and their team of young scoopers always keeps the bleary-eyed tourists moving at an impressive pace so the wait isn’t noticeable. The ice cream menu has a lot of variety and options, with hard pack and soft serve. I hope someday to get to the dinner side of the place, which always smells great.
We went here to pick up dinner. We bought three salads and a cup mac and cheese. Also, the corn fritters were recommended. The salads were fresh and delicious. The appearance in the take-home boxes, well they use huge boxes and they come half empty - but don't be fooled by that - there is plenty of salad in it! The fritters, however, didn't cause much excitement on our side. But: We had Fritters for the first time in our lives. So we cannot compare!
This ice cream is good. Sometimes it is a bit freezer burnt because I imagine their freezers are open all the time since they are so busy. I tend to find the more popular flavors have less ice in them. That said, this is a super cute place, it is even worth going just for the atmosphere. If you want the best ice cream in town, go to The Spotted Duck, this is probably the best ice cream/custard I've ever had.
Cute spot for ice cream, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. My friend and I were on a girls trip, and she wanted to revisit this place from her childhood. While it didn’t quite live up to her memory, it was still tasty overall. I ordered the bubble gum ice cream, which had actual pieces of gum in it—fun, but the pieces were a bit hard. Personally, I prefer soft serve, and while they do offer a few soft serve options, I would’ve liked to see more variety in that category. If you’re already in town, it’s worth a quick stop and does seem popular with locals, but I probably wouldn’t make a special trip for it.

Great ice cream, with picnic tables outside to sit and relax and chat up the dog owners who come here for a cone or sundae. Service was a tad slow but not a big deal as we were on vacation.

This is place for those who love fried food. They are famous for the fried chicken which I had, but it doesn't taste any better to me. But it's a fun place. The surroundings are beautiful with playground areas for kids and outside sitting area as well. The best thing for me is the ice cream place. It's really delicious!!!
Restaurant was nothing special. I had a buffalo chicken wrap that was quite bland. Ice cream parlor was great. Both places were on the pricey side, but that's expected in a tourist town.
We only come here once a year, and it’s always totally worth it because the food is amazing. That said, you guys have been doing this for a long time and yet the service is always exactly the same and the sole why we only come once a year. I called in a takeout order knowing I would be passing through Penn Yan, just under an hour in advance. The woman on the phone told us 25-30 minutes, so they had plenty of time to make our order. We arrived exactly an hour later, and not only was our food not ready, but we were rudely told to get to the back of the line and had to wait another 20+ minutes at least. Another woman waiting by us, had the EXACT SAME issue. The food has ALWAYS been worth the wait, and it always will be, but this experience really made it a drag
Been here a few times throughout the past 10 years. I don’t think I’ve ever had as mediocre of a customer service experience in my life as I did today. The cashier was very obviously annoyed, pretty rude. Not sure why we have people running the register if they’re going to be rude to the customers. Cashier is the face of the business, the way they treat the customers is the first impression.
Sounds like a great place for fried chicken but the chicken tenders were big disappointment compared to the fried chicken legs and breast. Seems to me the the chicken tenders are more like run of the mill frozen tenders that are then dumped in the fryer. The highlight was certainty corn fritters which are a must try. The dipping sauces of honey mustard and blue cheese were on spot as well.
Good ice cream and fun spot but you definitely do not get your money's worth. Service is decent. And has nice outdoor setting.
expensive$$$$$ and crowded. Don't think of taking the family there. If you want to spend a bundle. Not working man friendly. They should have a half price nite for Senior's and Children. Old men …

Lovely staff but took forever to get our overpriced, overcooked, cold, chicken and French fries. They need more kitchen help for busy tmes. Not sure why the place is always busy??
Well I am not sure how to rate this, I love it here but why did they take out the chocolate and peanut butter swirl. Most of the time their cones are stale, but the custard ice cream was so good, you really didn’t care so today when I went and they didn’t have the peanut butter swirl and I really noticed the stale cone 😢
Went there recently and was very disappointed. The chicken is not the same as it used to be. The breading has been changed. The macaroni and cheese was bland, dry and cold. Still love those corn fritters though.
Fantastic local landmark! Typically very good, but don’t expect the food side to move quickly or painlessly. Usually I try to call in ahead so the food is being prepared and I don’t have to stand there waiting for 35 min for a piece of chicken but they hire 15 year olds to run front of house so it’s a hot mess. I just called in an order, said 20 min, I got there 30 min, stood in line kiwi to let them know I was there, got attitude from others and still left without food. I officially give up. It shouldn’t be this hard to get chicken strips. Goodbye.
This was a convenient stop for us, and we particularly enjoyed the Friday fish fry and delicious potato wedges. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the classic ice cream parlor vibe was charming. Unfortunately, the ice cream and custard soft serve were both underwhelming. Additionally, the corn fritters were a letdown; they were mostly just fried dough, with very little corn to be found. A word of caution: the parking lot is poorly designed, with the main door opening directly into the path of drive-thru cars, so keep an eye out for that if you have small children. For a much better ice cream experience, I'd suggest driving a little farther to Spotted Duck.
Small broken pieces of chicken. 2 out of 4 pieces had broken bones. Either not fresh or very done. Had it before and it was good this time no, not even close to the first time. We got 2 2 pieces and I had to give my husband one of mine as there was little meat on these small 4 pieces. I ordered all white and he got mixed which was both dark. Corn fitters were not dine
