One of the best restaurants we tried at Lago Maggiore!! It’s worth it. The price ist okay to the menue you get. With an aperitif you get a starter for just 3 €each and it tastes very good . Service is kind and the view is also pretty.

Lovely food and great service! We walked by the promenade and were wondering where to eat. We decided on lo scalo and it didn’t disappoint, really good food and service was good. Definitely recommend.

tasting menu in a tasteful atmosphere = foodie bliss 😋 all dishes i had - i picked only the appetizers - were unusual, unique and highly inventive, definitely worth a try. for me, this was more memorable than yet another pizza, which you can get at all the other places nearby - but not at Lo Scalo. Consider this a special restaurant, for special occasions. Highly recommended!

Very nice restaurant on the lake front of Cannobio. A nice twist on the usual Italian menu. Delightful fiore di zucchine antipasto, perfect duck pasta, followed by Guinea Fowl. Probably the best bread I've ever eaten in a restaurant! Big wine list (some need big wallets) but something for everyone. Really friendly staff. Definitely a hit!

Wonderful experience all around! Friendly and knowledgeable staff and romantic setting along the promenade of Cannobio. The chef took Italian classics and added a refined twist to each dish. They served a truffle pasta with either a whole wheat pasta that provided a new flavor with shaved black truffle and bacon. Another favorite was a grilled octopus starter that was cooked perfectly and still hot. They also have a large wine selection and cellar to visit.

Un posto davvero da visitare per la posizione, per la professionalità e ovviamente per la qualità delle pietanze che sono davvero all'altezza. Spaghettone integrale con tartare di tonno spettacolare e servizio impeccabile. Cantina dei vini ben articolata. A Cannobio una istituzione!

Baretto sul lungolago, molto carino e curato. Personale molto gentile e scrupoloso. Buono l'aperitivo... Leggermente caruccio per la quantità di cibo servita.

Buono per fare aperitivo, buone le proposte culinarie. Purtroppo la pizza non era come la immaginavo di gusto e consistenza. Personale gentile e preparato. Ottima location sul lago. Non posso che consigliarlo.

The food was good. We had spaghetti with seafood and it was good, however I don’t think it was worth the price - next time I would pick something else. We also had seafood and bruschetta as appetizers and this I can really recommend. The view is definitely a plus.

Nice place with a great lake view! Food was tasty, especially the risotto limone. I probably could have devoured yet another plate of that! Delicious!

Nice location at the piazza with lake views, got a table in the first row. Food is nicely presented, but portions are very small. I had an appetizer and a main (didn’t take a photo of the main), which was not sufficient. The food was tasteful, but not extraordinary. Prices are on the higher end.

Purtroppo una grande delusione. Ho ordinato una pizza e fin dal primo morso si è capito che la base non era fatta al momento, ma preparata in anticipo o addirittura precotta, lontana anni luce da una vera pizza artigianale. Nessuna indicazione sul menù che segnalasse l’uso di basi pronte, il che mi sembra una mancanza grave di trasparenza verso i clienti. Quando si va in un ristorante, ci si aspetta qualità e onestà, soprattutto su qualcosa di semplice come una pizza. Non tornerò.

Prima volta in questo ristorante trovato sui consigli della guida Michelin. Nuova gestione. I piatti sono molto buoni, abbiamo mangiato piatti a base di pesce ed erano ben composti con ottimi gusti. Bella location suggestiva sul lago. Il grande problema è il servizio. Completamente disorganizzato, sebbene molto gentile e disponibile. Sia noi sia molti altri tavoli abbiamo avuto lunghe attese sulle ordinazioni e sui piatti. Spesso eravamo dimenticati a noi stessi. Abbiamo fatto alcune richieste ma tutte completamente dimenticate da parte dei camerieri. Addirittura in un tavolo è stata portata una bottiglia, ed è stata aperta 15’ dopo perché nessuno è tornato li ad aprirla. Non è accettabile che tre camerieri non riescano a gestire 15 tavoli. Inoltre, ci aspettavamo qualcosa come ‘scusa’ per il servizio subito, ma nulla c’è stato. Non penso ci tornerò e nonostante ciò sottolineo nuovamente la gentilezza dei camerieri.

We sat for lunch. The restaurant was half full. We ordered a couple of salads and main dishes. The salads arrived in a decent time. However, the rest came 45 min later. When I kindly asked if they had forgotten our order, the waitress answered to me in a very unpleasant way that her restaurant was full and we had already got the 2 salads. The view is nice as you sit by the lake but not a smile or a word from the staff made the atmosphere not so pleasant.

We have been here several times the last years and it was always a pleasure to be there: great food and perfect service. But yesterday it wasn’t as expected. Service was not OK: no attention, although we had 3 expensive bottle of wine: no wine service. And they took one bottle away before it was empty!! Food was average but no real highlights. Hope this will all improve soon because we like the place.

Worst service I had in a while, no understanding for the situation of the guest and straight rude behaviour. Sorry, but never again.

Ristorante da turisti da spennare . Chiesto una bottiglia di rosato nebbiolo colli novaresi presente in carta , e senza avvisare mi hanno portato un chiaretto del Monferrato . Al mio lamento la risposta è stata che avevo chiesto un tosato e quello lo era , d comunque era piemontese . Questo andrà bene per i tedeschi ….. esperienza da non ripetere

Chiesti due spritz… arrivano 2 bicchieri di colore diverso. Uno era uno spritz, l’altro era arancio come il cordino (in effetti sembrava proprio un cordino con dell’acqua)… Un errore può accadere ma fatto notare mi dicono che per la fretta può uscire un po’ scarso… normalmente mi sarebbe stato cambiato. Faccio notare che eravamo 4 tavoli, quasi vuoto, forse 10 persone. Dopo ordiniamo un piatto e ci arriva qualcosa di diverso… se cambi il menù o vuoi darmi altro… prima me lo chiedi. La volta precedente ci eravamo trovati bene… adesso sconsiglio.

Se vuoi trovare maleducazione e scortesia è il posto giusto! Cartelli pubblicitari illusori . Locale vuoto , abbiamo chiesto di poter consumare al volo un aperitivo e hanno preferito non farci sedere perché non avevano intenzione di cenare lì. Con quei modi le cameriere è meglio che cambino mestiere. Sconsigliatissimo

Pessimo Cambiata gestione, personale poco presente in terrazza. E poco preparato. I nostri piatti di pesce erano osceni. Spaghetti alle vongole con tre volgole in croce e dal sapore dubbio. Linguine ai ricci di mare che puzzavano di pesce marcio. Conto sopravalutato. Peccato era la perla di Cannobio il suo biglietto da visita 🤦 mai più .

Mi sono molto meravigliata entrare in un locale italiano e scoprire che non fanno il cappuccino senza lattosio. Fa davvero ridere.Persino i bar dei benzinai in Ticino lo sanno preparare.

Chiamato il numero di telefono che raffigura in Google, nessuna risposta, arriviamo dal Locarnese e scopriamo che gli orari indicati in Google erano sbagliati ed il locale era in chiusura, inoltre pure il menu indicato era diverso. TRIPLETTA!!! E possibile che nessuno abbia avuto 2 minuti per aggiornare le informazioni?

Ci siamo seduti a un tavolo libero e abbiamo aspettato a lungo che arrivasse un cameriere. Nonostante diversi camerieri siano passati vicino a noi, nessuno si è interessato. Invece, degli ospiti che si sono seduti dopo di noi al tavolo accanto sono stati serviti subito.

Terrible service! Unfriendly staff, sat down ordered drinks. Then in 3 minutes 2 different people came by to ask us if we were ready to order. We ordered pizza, then they told us, "no pizza tonight", so we ordered pasta. Then someone else sat behind us and ordered pizza and got it!? Then they told us they happened to find 1 pizza?? Simply terrible and untrained staff. Really a shame for the chef because he is good!

The waiter was prickly, rude and would not stop rushing us for our order. The food took a long time to come out and afterwards we were charged a hidden service charge the made our meal 10 euro more expensive. Would not visit again

Food was pretty terrible. We went because it was recommended by the Lonely Planet book (which usually is spot on). A local told us that the previous owner sold some years ago… food is the typical local tourist trap type. We were recommended to leave town if we wanted to genuinely eat well.
