My go-to local place for Thai. I haven't had a bad dish there. They are good at getting the spice level right. I like spicy, but I can't handle full-on Thai hot yet. So make it so it still burns but I can still taste it too.
This place has great food and great customer service. I thought some of the foods might be too spicy for my family but it was just perfect. Will go back soon.
We enjoyed Thai Spice. The food was tasty and satisfying. For our family of 3, the portion size was just right when we ordered one Curry and one noodle dish and a portion of white rice.
I love this place. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I sometimes wish the lunch portions were slightly bigger, but usually that’s a good reason to share an appetizer.
Good Thai food. Impressed with the fish cakes. There are many dishes I still need to try. I was taken there by friends and I need time to familiarize myself with the menu. I will update my experience when I return from future visits.
Thai Spice is a family-owned restaurant that provides superb flavor and a welcoming environment at a great value. Dine-in to maximize the freshness of your experience. We had a great experience and will be coming back with friends and family! We arrived at opening time to eat in for dinner and were seated immediately. The servers were courteous, cheerful, and attentive with water refills. The decor is warm and classic, and the dining area is kept clean. Prices are very reasonable. For appetizers, the curry puffs had a thin crispy wrapping with a delicious moist filling. Tofu satay had a great crispy edges and was wonderfully seasoned. The peanut sauce is flavorful, but not oily or thick like some other places. Everything was clearly cooked to order and brought to the table immediately. The yellow curry was rich, full of flavor, and came with a very generous portion of chicken. The seafood was also cooked perfectly. Dishes here are marked by deep delicious flavor. Dinner portions are healthy and filling. Order some of their delicious appetizers while you wait for your entree. Perhaps my only nitpick was that the door was left open and the dining room got quite warm without A/C. Two apps, one curry, and a seafood entree with two orders of steamed rice totalled around sixty dollars.
It was hard finding a Thai place in the upper East Bay I actually enjoyed. Their flavors are excellent, but dish sizes are smaller. I went during lunch time, but asked for a dinner size portion to share with 1 other person so they easily accommodated. The waiter was probably one of the best, most hospitable people I have come across in the restaurant industry.
This place has definitely improved over the years! The cook(s) are very good. The service is awesome. Best Thai restaurant in west Contra Costa county and Pinole! I recommend the masamman beef, the green curry, pumpkin curry, angel wings, and their fresh spring rolls are the best I’ve had anywhere. I highly recommend you give this place a visit if you enjoy Thai food
Super busy on Mother's Day. That's to be expected though with how scrumptious this food is. Got there at the original quoted time for my online order, but it wasn't ready. The front of house staff was very apologetic and communicative on how long before my order would be ready. I also got a complimentary Thai tea which was so good. I feel bad on how much work the staff had to endure, but they kept a positive attitude and handled orders that were coming in, doing with physical guests that wanted to dine in as well. Nice local place that really shines. Even in times of added stress.
My Hercules family always takes me here for special occasions and simply just because. The food is that good! Service for dinner on a Saturday night Nov 4 was exceptional! Only waitress working on a full and busy Saturday night. Displayed grace, no stress and had it all under control. Bravo!
So many exquisite dishes it's hard to go wrong with this Tasty Thai gem of a restaurant. Everyone is always so nice and welcoming, simply beautiful ❤️ people. The woman who greeted me this evening with a "your tall" I'm fairly certain has been there over ten years and has not aged a day since I first met her. Anyway perhaps this food is the key to staying young???
Hands down the best pad Thai in the north east bay region. I had a pad Thai phase this month and ate it every day lol this lead me to try the pad Thai at every Thai spot place from rodeo down to el Sobrante and Thai Spice takes the prize! Their service was always great, priced well, and tastes the best!!
My first time here. The service and food was perfect. I had sliced chicken over spinach with peanut sauce ans savored every bite. I will definitely go back.
There are some serious flavours coming out of that kitchen!! Such a small, unassuming place with a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and comfortable decorations. I would definitely recommend Thai Spice to a friend and intend to return for their less than $15 lunch specials.
BEST THAI FOOD IN THE BAY. Holy cow people if you haven't gone here it's delicious. Family owned and operated. People here have comfort and kindness in service. Perfectly casual, child friendly-family dining environment, well decorated that makes a cozy relaxed place to enjoy sensationally great food.
The Panang Curry Beef is excellent. Their Pad Thai is also very tasty. Don't expect presentation or beer (no liquor license), but completely worth it for all that. By far best take out in the area.
I was delightfully surprised to find this wonderful Thai restaurant in Pinole. The food was high quality, and the flavors were on point! The Pad Thai with shrimp and calamari was absolutely fabulous. The pumpkin red curry with shrimp my wife ordered was on point. This is a must do if you are in Pinole. I totally recommend you try it!
Service was quick and courteous, and the menu is impressively large with plenty of vegetarian options. Highly recommend: - The Yellow Curry (Gang Ga-ree Gai) with tofu – incredibly flavorful and satisfying! - Fresh spring rolls served with a tasty peanut sauce on the side. Just okay: - The vegetarian Gang Jerd Woon-sen was beautifully presented and came in a generous portion, but the flavor felt a bit underwhelming. That said, it was still quite appetizing—I added some peanut sauce to enhance it. Overall, a great little spot I’d definitely recommend!
Absolutely great food, service and good atmosphere. From start to finish it was fantastic. I tried the duck & pineapple curry dish with some spice and didn't disappoint at all. A must try if you're in the neighborhood.
Popped in last minute, we ordered appetizers and an entree to share. Everything was so good. The chili powder was a nice spicy touch.
The food is so delicious! I have been out of the area for a number of years but about 10 years ago I had the pleasure of enjoying a few lunches here and had forgotten just how nice of an experience Thai Spice is. We ordered 3 different soups Tom ka ga, Tom ka tofu, chicken noodle and the Basil catfish. The Tom ka soups are a bit more authentic than the other 2 places in El Sob. It's really nice to have Galangal root in the soups (it is very good for health) & I love the flavor with the lemongrass etc. They cook catfish in at least 3 flavors & the Basil was light and fresh. Not overly heavy in the sauce department with delicate fresh flavors of onion, bell pepper & Basil etc. I really enjoyed the experience and look forward to further cuisine adventures here in the near future.
Although Thai Spice is small, the decore shows enough attention to detail to help transport you somewhere more exotic. And that care translates to the food. I had a Bangkok Chicken app (pictured) and the duck drunken noodle special. Both were delicious! The thai iced tea and sticky rice with mango are highly recommended as well. Great meal Thai Spice, thanks!
Ammmaaazzziiinnnngggg food😋😋😋 I will be coming back. I got the curry puff for an appetizer and for food I got the Pad Thai and the Red Pumpkin Curry both with chicken. If you're in the area and like the perfect combo of creamy with spice for the red curry it is seriously worth a shot its my new personal favorite😋😊
The crab fried rice is made fresh ans with real crab 🦀 !!!! What??? The egg rolls are the best around too!!! Still crunch if you take em to go
We ordered vegetarian yellow gravy tofu and pad Thai tofu both were really good . Soup offered was clear rice soup which was good. . Small place busy hustling fast service good food and taste must be tried .

The food and service are amazing! I recommend the Pad Ke-Mow.
I came in with my family after flying in. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly- the crispy wings had a delightful crunch and an amazing sauce, the curries were rich, and my Pad See Ew was properly spicy- to the point that I had tears in my eyes, which is a mark of great Thai food! The space was small and cozy, with smooth jazz playing over the speakers. It was a little loud, but that's a minor gripe. Also, our server was amazing and accommodating of our requests. She also managed to run the space as it got more and more busy. I'll have to come back before I leave to take some home!
Hands down the best Thai food ever. Anyone saying otherwise either doesn't like spice or has no idea about what authentic Thai food is. Use the freshest ingredients, they use real Thai chili's, the best curries, the best peanut sauce, the best quality chicken and beef, nicest owners. Nothing negative to say about this place.
I love this place. We don’t have a lot of choices for good restaurants in the area, but this place is always so good. I love their yellow curry dishes. Never been disappointed at all. 🙂✌🏻

The curries are good. I've been there many times for lunch. Usually the food is delicious and you can choose a side. The satay chicken is very taste. Their egglant needs flavor.
Spring rolls were amazing! (Not to mention the peanut sauce). Not a fan of the Pad Thai, too sweet for my taste. Nevertheless, tasty, elegant and well portioned. Enjoy!
We had a wonderful lunch here. The crab fried rice and egg noodles with duck were delicious! The average dish is $12-15. Located in a strip mall, the parking lot is shared with 5 other small businesses. It is a bit of a wait, but this is because everything is made fresh!
All the dishes we tried during our dinner hit the mark. The pumpkin curry and the mushroom in pepper sauce (#65) we’re the right temperate, cook and spice. The dessert — fried banana with the coconut ice cream was delicious and a good end to the night. Unfortunately, the service was a little slow since it was busy with only one server. However, the ambiance and lighting made it a comfortable atmosphere during long wait times. Would definitely recommend going for the food!
I’m a huge Thai food enthusiast and regularly try restaurants across the country. Thai Spice is hands down my favorite in terms of the taste and quality of the food. I’ve been coming for 15 years. Best fresh spring rolls and basil chicken. Everything on the menu is delicious. The service is not what it used to be but for the food, I can overlook it. Great place and to go for a casual meal with friends and family.

Good service from staff. Appetizer combo plate not worth the price. Items seemed greasy and frozen such as the egg rolls and fried wrapped shrimp plus chicken satay super small. You can spend $40 on lunch in the blink of an eye.
"To go" food comes REALLY SLOW out of the kitchen.
I ordered fried rice to go and their portion is way too little for the price they charge. A few spoons full and then you’re done. Please don’t order to go from this place.
Need a little more food for the rate you pay. They rice wasn't included. Three spoons and you are done. Never ordering take out from here.

Food is ok. Have had better Thai Food in local restaurants in Richmond and Vallejo. Service is poor. Called on a Friday and had to dial several times because of getting a busy signal. When my call was answered the person put the phone down and I waited nearly 10 minutes before I hung up and walked over only to place an order that took 20 more minutes to get and then part of my order was missing. By the time I realized it I was across the bridge and it was near closing time. I was told that I could come in another time and they would make my order. When I came to get it my entree did not include rice. I would think that $1.65 portion of rice would be complimentary for my inconvenience but no such luck. Will NEVER return.
Average box pad thai .. ordered two items and no napkins or eatware.
We've ordered from them before and love the food but I ABSOLUTELY HATE the ordering platform and will NOT be ordering from them again unless it changes. We used to be able to call up there and place our order.... now they have an answering service that takes their orders which was a horrible experience! They don't know the menu or the options, they had to keep putting me on hold to check and confirm menu items.... they were telling me i couldn't add tofu (which i do every other time I've ordered food). I finally hung up after it took over 20 minutes trying to place my order. I kept trying to find a direct number but it just kept giving me a busy signal. I then decided to order on door dash for pick up..... NOTHING i ordered was correct!! Everything I wrote in the options category was completely ignored and we didn't even eat the food once we got it and I spent over $70 for the food! This was an absolutely horrible experience.... guess I gotta find a new Thai spot. I hope they see my review and go back to answering the phone and taking the orders themselves
Foods okay, but the customer service is horrible. Significantly worse when ordering through the door dash app. They must not know that some people picking up door dash are actually the customers so if you’re looking to eat here I’d stay away from online orders as they put no effort into completing them in a timely manner.
I want to preface this by saying I’ve been coming here for YEARS. I usually get the crab fried rice which is realllly good. However, today I wanted to try something different. I ordered drunken duck noodles togo. I was told 30min it’s, but it ended up being more like an hour :(. On top of that, I paid $18 for this meal, and just….just look at the picture. Idk if they were just rushing or cutting back, but I’m sad my food had so little duck. So many noodles. I guess I’ll be taking a break from this place for a bit :/

Ordered spring rolls and calamari salad. Very mid for the price. Portions small too.
My very 1st visit I wanted to love this place so bad but customer service it EVERYTHING to me. I seen spring rolls on their site so I ordered them didn't know the difference between "fresh spring roll" or "regular fried spring roll " very confusing to a "new" customer and when I say new I mean new to eating Thai Food as well... The lady told me I ordered wrong and it was nothing she could do being I ordered it keep in mind I'm new to this... So here I am stuck with something I don't want and not going to eat (wasted money)she advised me to repurchase them and ask for fried... TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I ordered a whole bunch of things to try the place out. Only 1 out of like 7 things had anything resembling flavor, and that was the only thing the kind server recommended. Expensive too! Mega small portions, total rip off
Up to Wednesday 11/05/25, I was a MEXICAN regular customer. Due to Nawat Itsaragrisil’s comments towards the Mexican Miss Universe representative, I am personally done patronizing this and any Thai food establishment.. This is a desition that will be kept forever.
