Absolutely delightful dining experience. The whole concept of a restaurant in an old train station is incredibly unique and makes for a visually extravagant vibe that keeps you enticed with its architecture. On top of the awesome atmosphere, the food is simply spectacular. I highly recommend the crab cakes, or any of their seafood options as they are incredibly fresh and well prepared. Nothing let me down and i was happy with the price to portion ratio. Great place to have dinner in the Pitt area.

This place was absolutely phenomenal. To start they had balet, which charged us $15 to park. The gentlemen were friendly and wasy to work with. There was a wedding happening the night we went so the main area indoors was off limits but the place is big. We sat riverside by the window. It gives a beautiful view of the city and the water. If youre lucky youll see the gateway clipper! The staff was wonderful. We had a waitress in training and a gentleman serving us. They were so helpful and informative. The food was wonderful. I am a picky eater and absolutely loved the salmon sautéed. The asparagus was ok but the mash potatoes were wonderful. The bread they give wt the beginning was so so so good, im still thinking about it. They also include crackers in the bread basket, I wasnt thrilled about those Our drinks were great too. Took a little to come out due to the bar being backed up, but it was well worth the wait. A phenomenal restaurant to go to for an anniversary, i highly highly recommend

I remain thoroughly impressed by my experience at Grand Concourse. The views are truly exceptional, and the décor is uniquely elegant and visually striking. The service was attentive and personalized, contributing greatly to the overall enjoyment of the visit. This venue is an ideal choice for an upscale Pennsylvania experience. Even the restroom design was notably refined. Every aspect was executed to perfection.

The appeal is the beauty of the main dining hall. The food met my expectations of absolutely delicious. First time at the Grand Concourse Sunday brunch. Tho expensive it was worth it. I loved the choices. The food station, carving station, and variety of food were unbelievable. I'm from the Burgh, so what took me so long - right? Well, for sure, it's not my last. Stairs leading into the main dining hall is a stunning view. Grand Concourse used to be a train station and the amazing thing is they have some of the original benches in the lobby, original bathroom, and flooring. It all made for a delightful, enjoyable dining experience. The only thing I did not care for was some of the smaller dining areas off from the main room. Those areas were too dark for me. The main dining area and the sun room are bright, full of energy and delightful

We had our wedding here in August, it was nothing short of AMAZING! Brian was WONDERFUL, he answered all our questions from the moment we booked . Food was fantastic and staff working the event was accommodating. Our guests to this day are still talking about the atmosphere and fantastic food .

An early 1900s beautifully detailed and ornate train station was the setting for an absolutely perfect meal! Stand outs were the fried calamari and the carrot cake, easily the best I have ever had! Our server Staci was fantastic and guided us through the amazing menu as well as giving us history on the building. I highly recommend!

Absolutely lovely dinner to celebrate my son’s birthday. The staff was incredible. The manager Jesse came over to introduce himself and welcome us. This little personal touch made the dinner a completely enjoyable experience. The staff was very attentive and graciously accommodated our large dinner party including a young toddler. The fried calamari was to die for and I would come back for that and the bread alone. Great service and great dining experience.

Our server, Neil, was fantastic. He was a true professional and made our dinner so enjoyable. He did not rush us at all and brought us 2 basket bags of homemade bread in addition to sending us home with some when he packed up my leftovers. My husband had filet mignon (he loved it!) and I had the seafood trio. I highly recommend the seafood trio it was a very large portion. And a delicious creme brûlée. Kudos to the chefs and servers. It also is a beautiful ambience and surrounding to dining in.

Evelyn, our server, saved the day! We made reservations for a birthday dinner in the main dining room, only to arrive to find out it was closed because there was a wedding booked. The room we were seated in instead, was still pretty with a view of the river, BUT it wasn’t what we were expecting, and there was no mention of the main dining room being closed, thus the 4 for the review because I think they could have done better with communication about that. Otherwise, Evelyn was friendly, funny, and helped us forget about the inconvenience, and the food and cocktails were fantastic. We will go back as a result of still having a great experience, but we will be making sure proactively that there aren’t any events in the main dining room before we book next time.

We went here for their Sunday brunch buffet. We made reservations but still had to wait for about 20mins. The restaurant was really busy. Noelle was the staff that took care of us. She’s nice and friendly. Also very attentive and observant. We didn’t have to ask for coffee or water refills. Food selection was good. There’s an omelette station, pasta station, a whole table of different salmon dishes, breakfast items, carving and salad area, waffles and bread area and desserts tables. There’s not much variety at the carving station - prime rib, ham, chicken. Also seafood is very limited to salmon and shrimp. The fresh homemade donuts were good though. The architecture inside was amazing. Great for photos and can also imagine for it to be great for events. Price for the buffet was $45 per adult. For me, this is a special occasion only restaurant but a good choice for Sunday brunch buffet. Definitely want to go back and try their lunch and dinner offerings.

I must say, the atmosphere is absolutely stunning—grand and beautiful! 😍 The decor really sets the mood for a lovely meal. We were fortunate to be looked after by 𝙉𝙚𝙞𝙡, who was incredibly professional and attentive. 👏 However, I have to be honest about the food. While the appetizers were enjoyable, my main course was quite disappointing. 😕 It didn't meet my expectations in terms of taste and felt overpriced for what it was. (If it tastes good, it's never expensive for me.) That said, I want to give a special shoutout to Nell for making our lunch experience memorable! 🙌 Thank you for your excellent service! 🍽️✨

An interesting mix of experiences in one - incredibly beautiful location and best lobster bisque + bread rolls I’ve ever had. The service was friendly but I hate to say “amateur.” Reservation for 7:45, weren’t taken until closer to 8, things happen and not too big of a deal. Waiter took our drink orders (and appeared to write them down), came back 10 minutes later apologizing saying he forgot what our orders were. My drink (the mocktail “Desert Rose”) took 15+ minutes to get because they couldn’t find the right kind of glass I guess? Didn’t look anything like it did on the menu and didn’t taste anything like you would expect it to based on the destruction. They were gracious and replaced my drink for me with something else. We both ordered the filet mignon and lobster - the steak knives and butter were not brought out with them and arrived several minutes later. The filet mignon tasted more like an average steak, not a filet mignon, and the lobster was tough/chewy. The potatoes it came with were okay at best. Also since it’s a wedding venue - the music is SO LOUD it feels like you are at the wedding! They should soundproof that area, you can barely hear the person you’re next to at times. Absolutely stunning building, but overall disappointing for the price to not match the quality of the food and service.

Used to really love the brunch here, but I was a bit disappointed on my most recent visit. We had a party of 11 for a friend’s birthday and our reservation was for 1:15pm and we didn’t get seated until 1:45pm. Parts of the buffet looked good and had been restocked with fresh items, but others weren’t refreshed the entire time we were there. Waffle station is always the best part. For $45 you hope for a bit more. Even though the food was just okay, our service was great and Neal took good care of us.

A great location, great building/architecture, ambience. Our first experience here and we were excited to visit. Our experience: Pleasant service but a disappointing wait for crispy calamari (tasty but cold and if anything “too” crispy - see comments below). Note, the restaurant was not visibly busy at this time and the delay was not really explained. After the calamari our “sensational” seafood was OK at best. It is hard to disappoint with a flavorful Sea Bass (which we eat and cook ourselves at home quite often). Obviously I don’t know but It seemed like the main course plate had been kept warm while we waited for the delayed “hot” appetizer. For example, when the main course arrived the wild rice risotto (served with the Applejack Sea Bass) was dry/crisp on top and the Sea Bass itself was overcooked (dry and it didn’t flake easily or naturally). That said, the Applejack and sweet bourbon reduction/sun-dried cherries worked really well though overall I wish the flavor of the sea bass was not lost as much as it was. I did enjoy the evening but that was due to the company and view more than the food. The food would always be third on that list but it should have been a more “competitive” third given the reputation of this restaurant.

Ordered the lobster bisque "poured tableside". I was brought a pre-filled cup of soup. Tasty, but no lobster chunks or even shreds. I assume they forgot so I asked the server: "Should this have lobster?" "No," they said and walked away. They stopped back later and asked "How is your lobsterless lobster bisque?" Literally. I kid you not. It was so absurd it was funny. The server at the next table seemed much better. The rest of the food was very good. Minimal accommodation for non-dairy, and no options for a non-dairy milk or creamer with coffee.

A decadant affair that transports the diner to a Gatsbyesque time of fine dining, pomegranate cocktails, and art-deco style. Lively, clean, and friendly - this concourse truly is grand with awe-inspiring views of the river. Accommodating service with a smile, lively folks who seem to like what they do, but unfortunately the food does not hold a candle to the sights. Bland, or tasting like it had been sitting a while even with a 30min wait with reservations. What looks like a feast for the eyes turns into the same "is that it?" look the wife gives you after you give it your all. A big game is talked, but Daddy is sleepy when it's time to deliver.

Went here for a dinner with my girlfriend and her friend on a Saturday night, this was a very very disappointing experience. Our waitress was very rude, untimely, and overall terrible. It took her 25 minutes to revisit us, and everytime we ordered a drink, appetizer, or bread it was minimal 25 minutes until she came back. She never apologized with how slow it was, and to make matters worse, they were out of prime rib on a Saturday night at 6 pm, and also wine choices as well. The food was average at best. I won’t be back due to the quality of what you get and the price that you pay. Service was poor. Food and drinks took forever to come out. Had a reservation and it took them 30 mins to sit us after our schedule time. Won’t be back. Seems as they rely on the atmosphere for traffic.

They seated us 45 minutes behind our 1pm reservation time, then after being seated we head to the buffet to finally eat and all the trays were empty. We told our waitress but they never refilled them. This was hands down the WORST experience I've had here. Very expensive, for absolutely no food.

Worst dining experience I have ever had. Came here for my birthday and had reservations. Was told that they were a little behind schedule and it would be about 20-25 mins. Sure, understandable. 40 mins later we check on how much longer and we’re told our table was being bussed so figure just a little longer. Little over an hour after the original reservation, we are seated. I look at my plate and silverware and it’s dirty, fantastic. We order the food we want and a little later, come to find out they are out so have to order something else. Since that happened our appetizer never came that we originally ordered because they forgot. We weren’t eating until 2.5 hours from our original reservation time and the food wasn’t even hot. The server was kind enough to bring our appetizer out after we said we don’t want it anymore in a to go container on the house. But my the time I got my meal, we didn't even really want to eat it. Since it was for my birthday, I didn’t pay but sure felt bad that this was money spent on such an awful experience because I would not have wanted to pay for this. We were told there was a big party that night and they don’t have enough people that want to work on a Sunday. Fine, but don’t take reservations if you can’t accommodate the amount of people in a timely manner. I would have 100% chosen not to put myself through this and ate elsewhere. If we were given accurate times on waits every time we asked, we would have left. This was my first time eating here and my last. It’s pretty inside but not much else I could say was good about this experience.

I will start with the positives. Its a beautiful elegant place for dinner and the food is expensive but delicious. The one star rating was for the service. I was at a table of 8 they were all served their meals. Mine didnt come. She said sorry it will be a couple of minutes. 15 min later back again....a couple more minutes. After 40 mins my table was done eating and felt terrible I wasnt served. We were going to the theater so we had to go. Our waitress named Stacy walks up with the plate. I said we are done put it in a to go I wont be able to eat before the show. She said sorry the order was wrong I will take it off your bill. I said great but that doesn't make up for you telling me every 15 minutes its on the way. She said and I quote " I am done talking to you I have nothing to say I already said sorry". I asked for the manager and of course she didnt get one. So rude she spoiled our whole dinner. I never complain check my other reviews this was unacceptable rude service.
