Service was excellent and our sushi and entrees were deelish, especially the balsamic stuffed strawberry dessert-WOWzerz! 21st Bday celebration didn't feel so Covid Chaotic here. Highly recommend this spot. Owners are lovely. Support this local small biz❤!

If you are looking for delicious sushi at a family friendly restaurant, then this is the right place. This is one of the best places to eat sushi rolls and Green mussels. They have a great variety of rolls and a good description for each one of them, which makes it so much easier to know what to order. We tried about five different rolls and they were all delicious. My favorite is the Machupichu Roll. It's sweet and salty, it has a great combination of soft spicy crab with a chunch on top. The service was great. They are really attentive and kind. They were patient and served us with joy. My friend asked for water to make a bottle for her baby and the waiter was kind enough to even warm up the water for her. I will surely be coming back and recommend this place to my family and friends. I was too excited about the food that forgot to take pictures. But, I will take some next time I visit to post here. Ps. To the waiter that was serving us, I'm sorry that I forgot your name but thank you for making this a good experience for me and my friends.

Tried this place due to a recommendation from a friend. It was totally worth my hour drive and I really can't wait to go back. The rolls definitely are packed with protein so make sure to bring a friend with you and order a crunchy roll and a rainbow roll.

This is the best place for sushi. They have so many unique flavor combinations. One such is a blueberry jam sushi roll. The chef here is amazing. Their salad has pears, candied walnuts, beets strings, greens, and a yummy dressing. Also their ahi tuna steak is incredible. Again so many unique flavor combos that work well. Highly recommend this place. Well known and loved by locals.

Its a Japanese fusion cuisine and can be a satisfying harmony that you may be craving for. Its a bit pricey but I can say the sushis are of high quality and good at every bite. I only had the Mountain sushi and that alone was satisfying and flavorful.

Sushi is always very good, asian style ribs very good. A lot of tasty grill options if you are not into sushi. Great appetizer selection. Pretty reasonable prices for the high quality ingredients.

Excellent quality, selection, and prices. Good wine menu. Service is attentive and not rushed. Our favorite local sushi restaurant.

The quality of fish is always on point. Tempura cooked correctly, even the broccoli is not mushy inside. The spicy garlic edamame is so delicious, and sashimi is where it's really at if you love raw fish. They have some amazing rolls too, and they are very nice about customizing orders. The service has been getting better recently, but we will see how consistent that is. They used to be horrible, like everytime we would come for someone's birthday, they would never bring a surprise for them, even if we asked and they said they would. Haven't tried the birthday thing again. bit they are more attentive now. 5 stars for the food!

Best rolls ever! The firecracker roll with the spicy mayo is to die for. I have never had better sushi in my life. My son loves the crunch roll and a cucumber salad.

They have creative sushi rolls that you can't find anywhere else and there are so many selections! Fish (spicy tuna) and chips is a nice appetizer. I didn't eat fish before but now I like sushi because of this place.

Have lunch at this place every week or two, since starting work at a place in Brea. As I spend the day working in a concrete cave, prefer to eat lunch at a nice outside patio. This is a nice place, close to work, and one of the best spots I have found in the area. Service and presentation is consistently excellent. In past (occasionally and on first visit) the sushi rice was a miss, but not of recent. Time to revisit this review. (Several months before) Last visit, back to overcooked, mushy, starchy rice. Bummer. They really should not vary so much. (Week yet before) Back again, as rather want the place to work for lunch. This time, dead on. Food and service was excellent. Might be my imagination, but think the rice improved since my last visit. Hoping my first visit just hit on a bad day. :) (Two weeks prior...) Went back to try this place again, hoping for a better result. The woman at the front did not look pleased. (Do they read these reviews?) Food and service was excellent. Enjoyed my lunch. Hoping my first visit happened on a Bad Rice Day. Will have to repeat the sample to be sure. :) (A few months prior...) Nice enough place to sit on the outside patio. Well kept. Friendly folk. Good presentation. Lunch was fine. Was disappointed with the rice. Not sushi rice, somehow.

Whether it was my first time 14 years ago or my recent visit....I LOVE this place. The family owned sushi experience is worth the travel. They have outdoor patio, interior dining and sushi bar availability. The quality of the fish reminds me of being on the back of a boat in the Pacific eating sushi just caught. No matter what you order save room for the stuffed strawberries. A GREAT date spot for the area too.

This is my favorite sushi bar and I tell everyone to go here. Their chefs are good, the service is always nice. They're medium priced, but sometimes I splurge for takeout. The dining experience is pleasant. There's patio seating, cloth napkins, and high end wine. The environment is kind of plain and simple with no lounge. But it's a friendly atmosphere and we'll talk to other people about what they ordered and discover new menu items. I call them "designer rolls" because they'll dress up the plain sushi with garnishes like French fried onion shreds. My favorite so far is the Vegas roll. I think even someone who doesn't like sushi would like them. They have more "Western" dishes like the Cowboy roll, which is cooked steak. It's just delicious and fun.

The atmosphere was great and the food was awesome! Our server was very friendly and kind. :) My only wish is that the menu had photos, but I decided to go to Google maps to look at other review photos to see if there was anything that stuck out to me - which is how we discovered our favorite roll! My favorite dish was the "Baked Baby Lobster Roll"! We also ordered a Rainbow Roll, some nigiri, Seared Albacore sashimi, and the Chicken Cordon Bleu roll, miso soup, and the truffle edamame. The fish quality was really good! We ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu because it sounded interesting - it was definitely worth trying once but not sure if I would order it again. The Baked Baby Lobster roll was super great splitting it with my husband! Might be a bit much eating it solo, splitting was 👌 We've never heard of truffle edamame anywhere else so we wanted to try that out and mm it was pretty tasty if you're a fan of truffle! I will note that we went during lunch when it was pretty much empty! Good time to go. :)

We went on a whim, server was great and prompt. We ordered spicy edamame, so good! I shared a Crunch Crunch roll and a Machu Picchu roll. OMG....both great but the Machu Picchu was the best roll I've had in my life!!! Don't pass by this place! Freaking delicious!!

Service was excellent. We came super hungry and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. So when the server came to take our order she was kind enough to suggest we take out one or two of the orders of rolls because there was no way we would finish it. We only took out one and sure enough we were not able to finish it all. Any other place would be happy to take our order and not worry about us no finishing and wasting our money. Very honest and good people that work here. Highly recommend.

I googled sushi and this was the closest place. I didn’t know what to expect but I can see why so many people were showing up for takeout. It’s reasonably priced, it’s good quality, clean, and has great service. I’m actually going by today and adding this review because I had to Google it again (because I forgot the name). My son loves sushi...so it looks like we just found a local place!

Not only is the food absolutely phenomenal, but the environment and service is top notch. The menu is diverse, so even those with dietary restrictions can find something to eat and the customer service is exceptional. Every time I come here, the staff greets me with a smile and takes their time to chat with me. The restaurant is clean and friendly, and you can tell that the owners have dedicated a lot of time to making the environment feel welcoming and special. Hands down, the best sushi and dining experience in all of Southern California.

We had an early dinner at Fish in a Bottle Sushi & Grill at 4 pm and it was amazing! We may have been the first customers there. It's usually very busy, so we got there early to celebrate our anniversary. I had the French Kiss sushi plate and Hubby had the rainbow roll with miso soup. The calamari was good, but a little chewy. Everything else was delish! We love this sushi house.

The food is out of this world and great presentation! However the tap water is the WORST EVER. I saw many glasses of water at other tables that remained full after patrons left. Perhaps they do this so you will purchase a beverage?

Tasty, fresh sushi. Creative rolls I've never had or heard of. It's worth the trip just to try the Crunch Crunch roll and crab cakes. *Especially after a long day of golf.

I've had pretty good lunch sushi here. Not the best, but still pretty good. The rice, which is the most important part of sushi to me, was tender and had just the right amount of vinegar in it. The fish was pretty fresh, although i wish they were a little more generous with the cut. They seem to have a pretty busy take out service as well. I saw a lot of people come pick up orders during my lunch visit there. The decor is modern with a lot of dark dark wood. Service was pretty good and attentive. Lots of water refilling, and accommodating to my two kids, which is always appreciated.

The food is delicious!!! There is no doubt about that. We tried their food to go last week because our usual sushi spot in YL was closed. We liked it so much that we decided to dine in. The only reason why I can't give 5 stars was because it took 15 MINS for a server to come to our table. We almost left. Also, the server seemed to be confused with what beers they had. Maybe she was new? Back to the food.. We had a couple of sushi rolls, and we're delish! Generous with the portions and toppings. We also had CHICKEN and SALMON plates and were perfect!! Came with rice and seasoned vegetables. So good! SHRIMP TEMPURA was really good, too. Will we be back? Not for dine it.. but I'll for sure get their food to go.

Food is consistently good. First time tonight they were out of supplies for item ordered. Sad. My favorite item. Odd to be out of an ingredient early in the evening, and a week night. They would offer no substitution. I was very disappointed.

The ambiance and the food were excellent! I wish I could give 5 stars based on the food alone, but the service was extremely slow. Our dinner stay took about 3 hours! We waited and waited some more at every step. We waited a long while for our waitress to take our order, our food took 45 minutes to get to the table after ordering, we were never offered refills on our drinks (or the ability to order a second drink), and we had to track down the waitress to get our bill (and then again to pick up the payment!). We were seated on the patio and I could see the wait staff inside, busy cleaning tables and getting their end-of-day work done while ignoring the customers. Our visit took almost 3 hours from the time we sat down to the time we received or receipt; that's too long by any standard. I hope they work to step up their service to match their excellent food!

I think the food here is amazing, but the service needs serious work. The guy at the door, always makes me feel like I'm bothering him. Except for the waitress Kaitlyn. Everytime she sees us, she constantly ask us if we need anything, and she isn't even our waitress. It's cool people like her, the delicious food that keep us coming back.

They are more worried about their To-Go Orders than the people sitting in their dining room. I've been dining at FnB for years and it has dramatically changed. The entire Sushi Bar is an assembly line of To-Go boxes, Bags and Utensils NO Patrons and before you ask YES other establishments are allowing people to now sit down at the Sushi Bar. The Sushi Chef's, Waiter and the owner are more focused on getting to go containers out the door. It took about an hour to receive our first order of sushi, while looking around the room you'll see other patrons with no food on the table and empty glasses. We have moved on to another establishment that serves their patrons in a timely manner. Wake up Steve !!

Because my husband is Japanese I have been to a multitude of Japanese restaurants & sushi bars. I've learned to identify good sushi & sashimi through him, as well as other dishes. Last night was my first visit here because he told me previously it was more costly than many other good places. So I went with a friend but found that to be true. The food was fine--no complaint. But my server was very unfriendly, hardly spoke (until we left), & never offered to replace my ahi salad (my fault cuz I ordered incorrectly but an offer would have been nice). In fact, she didn't say anything but to show me the ticket I had circled incorrectly. We felt ignored while she worked on call-in orders so we asked another server to take our order. She dropped off my additional To-Go order as she passed by our table without a word. Never asked us how the food was or if she could get us anything else. We felt very unwelcome. Good Japanese food is not hard to find in Orange County but customer service matters. No matter how busy a place is food, service, and to a lesser degree ambience, make up the experience. And my experience was negative compared to many other Japanese restaurants.

K
Kristina bruno

The worst service we have ever experienced. We watched our sushi sit on the counter for a good 10 -15 mins before our server brought it to us, and in that time both managers walked by seeing all this food up there without even thinking maybe we should help out our server and bring the food to the customer; since it is sushi that shouldn't be sitting there... and the Toro was the worst Toro I have ever had. We will not be back.

Went there for friends birthday.being allergic to shell fish I ordered the rib eye steak and asked for a substitution for the jumbo shrimp. I was told that they could not substitute anything for the jumbo shrimp so I said fine but asked for them to add some mushrooms to the steak. I received my meal without the shrimp even though I paid for them so now I could not even give them away to someone that would like them. To make it worse they did not give me any mushrooms either so I inquired about those and I was told that they could not give me a side order of mushrooms. Then the waiter told me that the cook gave me extra veggies to make up for it. I’m not that big of a veggie fan so I didn’t even eat very many in the first place. When it comes to customer satisfaction this establishment gets one star!! I feel that the waiter and the cook didn’t get the idea that customer satisfaction is what gets you to come back. Therefore in the future I will not be going back to fish in a bottle. They have soured me greatly with their lack of caring what the customer wants and he is willing to pay for.

Horrible service by the Asian older lady at the entrance, not sure if shes the owner but very very rude. Went with my family that came to visit from Mexico and seamed like she was very bothered by our presence because the whole time we where there she just kept looking at us like saying, what time are you leaving. When she brought us our bill she just came and tossed it at our table without even saying a word to us. So disrespectful that I was even apologizing to my visiting family. Besides their prices getting up there and to be treated like that when I’ve been a customer for 10 years. Well the hell with them, I’ll find another place that is not racist like this dumb lady!!

Went with family. Low quality fish( rolls are not real sushi), tasteless pork chop with cold mash potatoes, slow service and expensive. Our waitress was very polite but place is under staffed. I'm surprised some reviewers actually think this is good/high quity sushi restaurant and for those who thinks this please try other sushi restaurants outside of Placentia / Yorba Linda because you are missing out.

B

There's many excuses for terrible customer service but when it comes directly from the owner why would you come back or give your business to them? We have come to this restaurant for the last 10 years supporting this small business and the family that runs it. Time and time again we have been ignored for ordering, had issues with Togo; and even ignore when coming in for our food. We also ordered to go in the past and given not fresh fish. Over and over again we have tried to look past the service and poor customer service but enough is enough. The quality has gone down and so has the respect for their customers.

I have been coming here 2 to 3 times a week. Decent food every time. They are one of few places still serving asahi black. Today i ordered sashimi platter, sub out salmon, as usual. They said no way, never again with very bad attitude. They lost a $100 per week customer.

Ok people this is for all you dog lovers out there, so this review is not for everyone. Let me start by telling you that my wife and I are dog lovers. We have a 15 year old blind poodle that we take with us inside a stroller. He's been with us since he was a baby. He's is everything to us and boy he's been through a lot, you can say he's part of the family. This was our fist time here at this restaurant. The restaurant has an outdoor patio. When we arrived, there were only 2 families eating inside the restaurant and nobody was eating outside in the patio. We take our little dog everywhere with us. And during hot weather we even take a Cooling Fan with us to make sure our little dog is cool at all times. When I walked inside the restaurant and spoke with 2 servers that were at the door and before I said anything 1 of the servers immediately told me that they don't accept dogs. I told the server I understand we don't mind sitting outside in the patio. Right away the server said the owner does not like dogs. That surprised us. Then the other server said the same thing. That the owner does not like dogs at all. Then the cook inside making the sushi rolls also said the same thing. That the owner does not like dogs. They said, since the dogs are not people they are not allowed. Not a single person was outside eating in the patio and my dog was not going to bother anyone. I guess for those dog lovers who enjoy going out for a meal with your dog this is not the restaurant to come to, maybe this review won't tell you how the food or service was but maybe it might just save you the trip and gas.
