This place is the perfect combination of big city flavor and small town atmosphere. Every plate was a work of art and every bite was a wonderful adventure for the taste buds. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. The staff were all super friendly. The sushi chefs really take their craft to heart.

I had an excellent dining experience at Amerikan Ichi in Placerville, CA. This clean and cozy spot serves amazing food with high-quality sushi and fresh ingredients. The customer service was outstanding, making the entire experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-notch sushi place!… oh, and the Lobster roll, everyone needs to try at least once, so good!

The food was delicious... the staff was super friendly... our waitress recommended the new sake special that comes with 4 different shots for $11 (or $17 for premium sake) giving you 8 sakes to choose from... they were all very flavorful and went well with our meal. Our sushi was so delicious and fresh and for the first time ever we did not ha e any leftovers to take home! Definitely recommend, definitely going back.

We've had poor experiences here two times before but decided to give it one more shot. They get 1 star for atmosphere because they were playing Mexican music in a Japanese restaurant. Totally didn't fit. The service was terrible. Our food took forever to come and they forgot my Mother's order of tempura, so we had to wait longer. The sushi was good, but the miso soup had white button mushrooms, not shiitake mushrooms. Not good.

I ordered the bento box , with egg rolls , salad, California roll, Hawaiian chicken, and rice. The chicken had a blackness and burnt taste, I told the wait staff but got no satisfaction of response. The sushi was just grocery store average, there’s roll was good , some of the items were not as hot as they should be , and it was 20.00. So my next sushi will be at teriyaki junction , in the same parking lot.this was our first visit to American ichi sushi, and we hit a very yuck experience, sorry but true.

Should have went to Shila’s. Waited 40 mins -during a not very busy time- for mediocre sushi. Service is bad. The staff aren’t busy with tables, they’re busy with themselves and couldn’t care less about you. The best roll we had was the Rooster. The kid chicken meal was a joke; a bed of rice with mostly tempura chicken and the thinnest slice of orange and pineapple as fruit. Definitely not worth the money so won’t be returning. It’s a bummer my husband and I came here for our anniversary.

Extream wait times if you dine in even at the bar. They focus on takeout and not the customer in front of them. This place has gone downhill, and it's sad. They need to do a lot better.

Picture it dwindling down to one other party in the whole place and we can literally see that they're not making any sushi. When it finally did come out, the salmon nigiri was NOT fresh tasting - yikes. While our waitress offered to correct the part of the order that they had misread/not made correctly, which was appreciated, at that point we didn't want to wait longer (who knows how long) for the quality of fish. So, while the waitress was very nice and apologetic for both the wait and the error, there's not much that can salvage the rest of the experience. I can understand being patient but not when the sushi staff is just, not working, for an extended period of time? I feel like the quality issue is new, however - prior, service fluctuated, especially when it was busy, but quality was not questionable. I understand there are off days but it's been 3 not great experiences in a row and the not-fresh salmon sealed the deal unfortunately.

Normally the service is really good! Tonight they were playing the music way tooo loud and they were literally dancing instead of paying attention to customer and did not refill any drinks and I had to ask them to finally bring the check. You can have fun at work but you still have to pay attention to your customers. Hopefully next time will be better!

Went here with my wife and only one other couple in the place. Waited over an hour for our food with the server continuing to apologize even though we didn't look upset. The chef was laughing and talking with the people at the bar and ignoring our order. We finally left after 1 hr 20 minutes. Also the time before this we ordered a fried roll. The brought it and wasn't fried. The server said it's better when it's not fried. How is that up to her? We wanted fried we didn't get it. No apology , just a look like we were stupid. Horrible service. Food is good if you can get it or the right food for that matter

This use to be a great local spot, one of our favorites. No longer, the wait has been ridiculous!! The lack of concern from behind the counter horrible. Told him if we didn’t get our food right away we were leaving without paying. The food was horrible 🤨 done.

This used to be a good spot. I used to drive here from Sacramento just to eat here back in the days during the all-you-can-eat times. The rolls were made with love and the fish was fresh and the rolls didn't fall apart. Fast forward to tonight and I was very disappointed. I threw up their godzilla roll and my son didn't enjoy their volcano roll. This was the last straw for me. Update! As I arrived home. The godzilla roll was rotten. Do not eat here. Terrible quality of fish. Who in TF serves bad fish? I love sushi and I know my sushi. Lucky my children didn't eat that crap!

The service was horrible, we got one dish first and waited 20mins for the second dish. My dish was so salty I couldn't finish it! There was no concern for our meals being late to the table. We will never go back!

I've been here a few times and it's been a mixed experience. The most recent was a pick up order for my kid's birthday party and the food was just awful. We ordered mostly California rolls which are so simple you would think it's hard to get wrong but they were practically inedible. The avocado was so brown it was unrecognizable and ruined the flavor. The texture of the rice was not good either. It really felt like we were given the previous day's discards and I'm just grateful nobody got sick before we threw away the rest.

Went twice this year. Ordered a cucumber salad and a sushi roll. Both visits, Salad came in about 16min. Sushi 🍣 took an hour to arrive. Saw folks walk out. Service both visits was horrible. I'll never return

$50 for order to go.. The grifters give me YESTERDAY'S cold, old, calamari, it could have been 2 or 3 days old thats how bad & cold it was- YUCK! Pure greed. I will never be back. Same to your mom.

Absolutely HORRIBLE! Took my baby and Mom for Mother’s Day lunch. When we walked in we were not greeted by any of the service members. Once seated we waited 10 min to be acknowledged. Then the waitress ANSWERED HER PHONE while taking our order. Super weird vibe with “Gangsters Paradise” blaring from the speakers. The chef was just hanging out with buddies at the Sushi bar. Clearly not working, messing around. He even was using a walkie talkie to loudly communicate with the back of the kitchen to turn the music up. There was one other table and they were complaining that their order wasn’t correct. The hostess/waitress was aloof. After an HOUR I asked to cancel the order while I was walking my fussy baby around the restaurant. The chef said my food was ready (which was a lie) and quickly through it together while I paid. After paying the food still wasn’t done. When we got home it was OLD DRY RICE with sketchy smelly fish. Our stomachs hurt with it 15 minutes. Clearly we will never go back.

Been going to this restaurant for several years, was a great place go. My last visit I spit my food out after the second bite, tasted very off possibly expired fish and under cooked shrimp. The next day I woke up vomiting, and was unable to eat properly for 35 days. I lost 25lbs. Do NOT recommend going here! Also takes over an hour to get your food even when there are only a few tables. Use caution eating at this establishment.

Hostess and waitress were great, friendly, happy etc. Sat down at 1:10, only two other tables with customers already eating. At 1:45, customer behind me who came in after me, was getting his check. He had ordered, and eaten before our food even showed up. Almost an hour after sitting down, left with takeout because we couldn't stay and eat there after the wait. One of the rolls wasnt even made until just before 2:00. THEN.....get home and one of the rolls was completely wrong. Not at all what we ordered. An hour wait for a $60 order of sushi that wasnt even correct guarantees I'll never go back.

I will never go here again. The service is awful, the music is to loud and the worst is that they served my wife first and literally didn't bring my meal out until my wife was almost done. Unfortunately this was not a one time occurrence but has happened every time we have been there. I only give this place a 1 because there is nothing lower.
