We really like eating here. Great food and great service.
My husband and were traveling from San Antonio to Colorado Springs. We decided to stopped here to grab a bite to eat Tim our way through town. All of the staff were very polite, friendly and attentive. We sat at the bar and were immediately helped. We tried the combo fajita nachos and added mushrooms s said onions. They were super delicious. Great food, great staff and a lively atmosphere!
I've always loved Leah's. I just moved back to Plainview so first time back. It's still excellent ( chili relleno still my fave) and the remodel they've done in the last 4 years is beautiful.
We had lunch, it was so good. We're from Georgetown, TX so we don't get here as often as we'd like. This is the first time at the Plainview location, usually it's the Muelshoe one. The food is awesome no matter which one you go to. We've been to the one in Clovis, NM too. Our waiter was great, food awesome, and we took some to go. Will definitely return if we're in the area.
Excellent food with a great staff!! The food is really really good and the pride prices are very reasonable also.

The owners have done a great job bringing the best out of Leals, this is one of my favorite stops any time I'm in Plainview!
I very much enjoyed their authentic dishes. The staff was friendly and efficient. It's an hour drive for me but well worth it. Hoping to have lunch there again tomorrow. \n\nJoe M
Vicky is the most amazing server ever!!! Super attentive and never let my drink or chips run low. Someone please give her a raise!!!
Not authentic Mexican but still ok. Service and atmosphere are great. Depends on what you are looking for. This is Tex mex if that's what you like.
I was very impressed with the service we received. Yes there were some minor hiccups but considering we were a group of about 20 people it went really well. That also is not considering the fact that they had another private room of 30+ people and a full dining room with what seemed like barely any waitresses. Food was pretty good for the price and I would definitely come back. (Pictured is the main plate of the Deluxe Dinner)
Here's the thing that Leal's consistantly gets right. It's their amazing service and servers. They always try to focus on their customers, and give their guests a family friendly experience. One thing that usually ends up a little bit badly is their chips and salsa, which is usually free as long as you buy some food. The reason i say this is because, sometimes, the salsas and the chips feel as if they were opened from the fridge and just served out to the customers, this happens eehh about 1 out of 7 to 10 times you dine in the place. It's not alot but it happens. But, i may say when they serve their chips and salsa fresh, you're going to love the place alot and become a frequent diner most of the time hahaha. Another thing is their food, their food will always be fresh but the quality of it is a different story. Sometimes it would be very greasy and sometimes it can be very pleasant to your pallet. Sadly they didn't meet my standards with the fajitas, since it didnt taste like it at their 100, but i understand since they were very busy with lots of other customers. The fajitas were very pleasing to the eye, but didnt really bring what i thought it was going to be, as in flavorful and somewhat bold, but i digress since they usually make it better. Please take this review with a grain of salt as this wasnt my best experience but with their service and staff members, i guarantee it was very worth while!
Absolutely no seasoning. Tea was extremely weak. May as well order water. Queso is just melted Velveeta. Guacamole is just mashed avocado, I would have gotten better at taco Bell.

service was the only reason I gave Leal’s a 2. This was a terrible example of Tex-Mex. They need a real cook that can create some good recipes. Stay away if you value your tastebuds. That’s all I h…

Tried a different restaurant than our usual Plainview stop upon recommendation of a family member. First impressions are important in rating a restaurant, but we did not get off to a good start. Chi…
Our waiter, Skylar, was very friendly and efficient. And was the best part of our experience. The salsa tasted like watered down tomato paste and had no heat. Almost as if a tomato and sugar were thrown into a blender for way longer than necessary. The queso was just melted veleveta and salt. My husband orders shrimp quesadillas and the amount of oil dripping off of them could’ve started a car from the 1940s. It was also off putting that my fajita nachos didn’t come with the typical toppings (lettuce, tomato, guacamole and sour cream) and I had to pay extra to get them added.
Service was not good. Severs standing around took over 10 mins after being seated to get drinks. Our sever was very slow tho others were attentive. The food had set under the heat lamp waiting on our sever to bring it to us. The bartender was great even come and asked if everything taste ok and if he needed to do anything to make them better but he also was tending other tables and staying on top of them. After all that unfortunately we will not be back.

45 minute wait for a table of 7 the girls in the front kept seating down other people that came in after us. Their excuse is they were waiting for a server to come. It’s 8PM don’t y'all close at 9PM. We won’t be back again.
We had lunch here this was rhe worst experience we have had and will not be going back. The lady we talked to said ok we don't need your business. Our server did a fine job, he didn't know the menu very well. We had 3 menus, 2 had the same prices, one was the higher. My husband does not like onions, tomatoes or anything in his ground beef and the server didnt know if it came in there or not. We ordered fried ice cream it was not fried. The server told us how it was done and when the manage came and talked to us she told a different story, you could tell by the ice cream which way was accurate. The manager lied to us. If the manager is not appreciative of her customers maybe she does not need them. Very disappointed in her response to questions we had.
The food here is not what we expected . Overpriced for what we ordered and taste. Staff had an attitude and offered little assistance in regards to their menu. Seemed put out by basic questions. Or they just didn't know the answers. Chips were great. The sausa not that appeasing to us. Tomato sauce. We will not return there are better options for dining.
I went to Leals with my family and the food was just not hitting! I have NEVER went to a Mexican restaurant where all the food was not even barely lukewarm! The fries were soggy, queso dip was cold and clumpy and when I mentioned it, they just took what was on the table and put it in the microwave! The manager was not interested at all in us expressing our experience and just said next time say it as soon as the food comes to the table! She didn’t try to rectify anything even though she saw the food barely touched! There won’t be a next time!!! $100 for terrible food is highway robbery!
I ordered a medium rare steak. What i received was a hockey puck smothered in the melted remains of a cheese flavored petroleum byproduct. Woulnd not recommend.
Went in at 11:30AM for lunch and waited 10 minutes to get seated. When we were finally seated the host said "I wasn't supposed to seat you guys and it's going to take a long while before we take your order." So we decided to leave. As we are walking out she immediately sits the couple who walked in and did not tell them the same thing. The entire experience was unprofessional.
I got the Tacos a la Mexicana, it barely had any meat, and the tortillas were soaked in oil for no reason. I could understand if the tortillas were fried or even crispy but they were neither just heated up. The mexican rice tasted like it came from a bag same with the refried bean but at least the bag ones have flavor . The orange juice we received tasted like orange colored water . The fries also had 0 seasoning. I’m not sure how this place has so many good reviews but those people are either drunk or smokers with no taste buds . I would call this place “Leal’s cheap tasteless version of mexican food “ rather than “leal’s mexican restaurant”. If I could put 0 stars, trust me I would.
