Dinner with friends last night was wonderful! Great food, lots of laughs, and conversation made for a much needed night out! It was awesome to share a great meal with great friends! But, I loved how patient Muhammad was with me and all of my questions about their food at #Burnt Since I don’t eat meat & I’ve never been here before I wanted to make certain they had food that I could eat! 🍽️ We ordered several different items from their menu. But I am only going to review what I was able to eat. The meatless food. Their tequeños are absolutely delicious! The crispy golden outside and warm, melty cheese inside made them nothing short of awesome! Especially when paired with their dipping sauce. 🧀 Next I tried their cachapa & it was amazing! The sweet corn flavor and soft, golden texture made it simple & delicious. They are filled with melty cheese, then they become the perfect balance of sweet and savory. 🌽 Lastly, I tried their plantains! Oh my goodness! Plantains are such a delicious treat! They were perfectly cooked: golden on the outside, tender on the inside, and naturally sweet. They made for a simple, comforting, and satisfying side dish! 🍌 Would I go back? Absolutely, yes! 💯
🍖 The Ultimate Fusion: Texas BBQ meets Venezuelan Soul 🇻🇪 If you’re wondering how Texas BBQ and authentic Venezuelan cuisine pair together, the answer is: beautifully. I recently visited Burnt Bbq & Tacos in Plano and met the powerhouse duo behind the magic, Timothy Halls and Maria E Argumedo. Tim is a culinary expert specializing in the art of the smoke, while Maria brings the gift of her mother’s traditional Venezuelan recipes to the table. Together, they’ve created a "hidden gem" that is a total masterclass in fusion.🧤 From the Pit: We sampled a massive spread of their BBQ, and it’s clear they take their craft seriously. The Meats: The Burnt Ends, Shredded Pork, Brisket, Jalapeño Sausage, and Ribs were all flawlessly seasoned. The Details: Their signature rub and BBQ sauce provide a perfect balance of savory and sweet. 🫓 Venezuelan Delights: Maria’s influence shines through in every bite of the traditional sides. The Goods: The Empanadas, Cheese Sticks (Tequeños), and Carnitas were standout stars. The "Secret Sauce": Do not skip the cream sauce it pairs perfectly with almost everything on the tray! 🥣 Homemade with Love: You can taste the "homemade" difference in every side dish. From the slaw, platano frito and Mac & Cheese to the house-brined pickles, everything is made from scratch and served with genuine heart.📍 Burnt BBQ & Tacos | Plano, TX Trust the Google reviews this place is a must-try. Don’t miss this hidden BBQ gem! Needed a lunch to bring in for 10 people and their meal kit was the perfect solution! Meat was perfectly cooked, sides were delicious, pickup was on time and easy, all with a great price. Can’t recommend this place enough!
They offer a variety of great barbeque and Venezuelan food. I'd highly recommend trying the arepas and the tequenos. Probably my favorite BBQ sausage I've had as well. The main downside - service can tend to be slow, since there's usually only two or three people working there. There are also only five tables at the restaurant, so dining in can sometimes be impossible depending on how busy the store is.
Some of the Best BBQ I’ve Ever Had. Burnt BBQ and Tacos is seriously impressive. From the moment you walk in, the service is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The brisket is the star of the show—perfectly smoked with a beautiful bark and incredibly tender, buttery meat. Honestly, it stands right up there with places like Pecan Lodge, Terry Black’s, and Franklin, and I’d argue the brisket here might even be better. The poblano sausage is another highlight—juicy, smoky, and packed with flavor from the roasted poblano. And the pork belly burnt ends are unreal. Rich, caramelized, and melt-in-your-mouth, they’re easily some of the best bites of barbecue I’ve ever had. Everything pairs perfectly with the jalapeño citrus slaw, which is bright, fresh, and cuts through the richness of the meat beautifully. All around, Burnt BBQ and Tacos delivers incredible barbecue with outstanding service. 5/5 without hesitation.
I found Burnt on Google thanks to the solid reviews—and they did not lie. My husband and I were staying at a nearby hotel and pulled up to what looks like a tiny spot tucked into a strip mall. He glanced over and said, “You want to eat here?!” Nobody was inside, but I was hungry and not in the mood to hunt for another option, so in we went. The restaurant is small but clean, and Mohammed—who took care of us—was friendly, attentive, and clearly running the show like a pro. We decided to sample a little of everything. I ordered the turkey, mac and cheese, a chicken taco, and a black bean taco. My husband went with the coffee-rubbed brisket on Navajo bread and a side of tostones. Everything was delicious, but the turkey absolutely stole the show—fantastic with or without BBQ sauce. The spicy sauce added a nice kick, and the black bean taco was another standout. While we ate, more customers trickled in, and Mohammed effortlessly balanced dine-in tables and to-go orders. We were already stuffed, but dessert felt non-negotiable, so we grabbed some to go. We tried the sopapilla cheesecake and the banana pudding—the cheesecake was the clear winner. If you have even a little room left after the BBQ, do not skip dessert. This place may be unassuming, but it’s a hidden gem worth stopping for.
So grateful these owners were open and running during the “snow storm” whenever every other place was closed. Had the Arepas and Cachapas. The Cachapas with brisket added on top was absolutely amazing!!! Very unique item I’ve never had anything like. The lady working the register was very nice and helpful with recommendations.
My husband and I walked in and were instantly greeted by a very friendly cashier named Moe who explained the menu and our options, as we had never been here before. Finally, we decided on pulled pork tacos, the pork Cuban on indian fry bread, side of mac and cheese. For dessert we tried the fried cheesecake, and it was amazing. Can I just say- that was the MOST FLAVORFUL and juicy pulled pork I have EVER had!!! The food presentations were clean and beautiful, the food was hot and delicious, and the service we received was attentive and welcoming! We absolutely will be back time and time again!
Burnt BBQ & Tacos was beyond incredible. Being a native Texan, I have had my fair share of BBQ and Burnt stands above the rest. I had the loaded fries and the pork belly burnt ends. The loaded fries were shareable for the whole table. They were crispy and full of fantastic toppings. The burnt ends were the best burnt ends I have ever had in my life. They were juicy, flavorful, and fell apart in my mouth even with the perfect crust. Burnt has become an instant favorite in my eyes and you cannot go wrong giving them a try.
Burnt has really good brisket. We ordered 1 pound of the “coffee grind smoked brisket” to go. Our options were fatty and mixed. We chose fatty. The next time we will order mixed because if was a lot of fat. Our order came with a side of Texas toast. The toast was really good too. Things have changed since our first visit. The restaurant is now open Sundays. Thank goodness. And the restaurant never runs out of brisket. Thank goodness for that too. Another new item on the menu (or new to us) is the Taste of Venezuela. We were told the owner’s wife is from Venezuela. The owner’s mother-in-law makes the Arepas. Highly recommend for some very good BBQ. I should also mention that the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Amazing food! We were a sports team traveling from out of state, and made a large order to feed the kids and parents. I had researched a lot of Texas BBQ places, and this place had great reviews, and it was also easy to make an order for a large group. They were incredibly accommodating and responsive. The food was delicious and well-liked by the kids and adults!
From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of energy. The staff went above and beyond with their service friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The food? Outstanding. The tacos are creative, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Each bite tastes fresh and unique, with just the right balance of spice and texture. The tortillas taste homemade, the proteins are cooked to perfection, and the toppings tie everything together beautifully. Even the sides and salsas stand out you can tell everything is made with quality ingredients and care. What makes Burnt Tacos truly special is the consistency. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted, and the presentation is just as impressive as the taste. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in with friends for a full meal, you’ll leave satisfied and already planning your next visit. If you’re in the area and craving tacos, Burnt Tacos is a must-try. It’s easily one of the best taco spots around!
Texas-style brisket is a whole vibe. If you're a fan of Texas-style BBQ, you absolutely have to try Burnt Ends BBQ. I ordered the brisket, and it was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. The meat was perfectly tender, with that smoky flavor you crave, and the bark was on point—crispy and flavorful without overpowering the natural richness of the beef. Each bite was a melt-in-your-mouth experience. The portion sizes were generous too, so you won’t leave hungry! Not to mention, the atmosphere was just as great as the food. The service was friendly and attentive. Do not wait on trying this place! GO NOW Note: the chips shown came from my own kitchen
I first heard of Burnt from Yelp recommending it to me, but then I started hearing others tell me about how amazing Burnt was, so I couldn't wait any longer and went immediately. It was hard to find as the front of the building is partly covered by a tree and it simply says BURNT in black letters on the stucco. If you aren't looking for it you will miss it. The digital menus line the wall over the small register. They are very clear to read and understand and if you want something in-hand, they have paper folded menus on the counter to peruse too. I had come for the tacos and decided to try the Coffee Grind Brisket taco, Roasted Garlic Pulled Pork and the BG Pork Belly Burnt Ends taco. I got them all on corn tortillas & with no crema or cojita. Sometimes when I remove dairy options from an item it changes it entirely, but these tacos were still hefty portions (see image) and packed plenty of taste. The Burnt Ends taco was my favorite, my hubby who stole a few bites agreed. The Coffee Grind Brisket was too dry for my liking, but it was still good. I also added a small side of mac & cheese for my son, who loves all things mac & cheese. He really enjoyed it. I will absolutely be back and next time I am brining the whole family!
Got the half rack St. Louis ribs and a Mac and cheese with brisket. They messed up my order entirely when I was placing my order, but corrected it as soon as I pointed out the error. Food came out really quickly. Mac and cheese tasted great and portion size was great with lots of meat. Ribs were a bit cold but very tender and flavorful. The lady there that I’m assuming is the manager or owner was very nice and made sure we were well taken care of during our meal.
Run, don't walk, to Burnt BBQ & Tacos. I stopped by this place on a recent trip to Dallas, given the positive reviews of the Navajo Fry Bread Taco. Let's just say that the trek to Plano was absolutely worth it (get the taco with burnt ends!). Not only was the food delicious, but the portions were huge (several customers gawked at the size of my dish when it came out), and the prices were more than reasonable. Normally, the taco alone would have satiated me, but because I hadn't eaten all day, I ordered the fry bread dessert to top off the meal, which was 💯% the right decision. The best part, though, was getting a chance to chat with Chef Tim, the owner of the restaurant, who told me a bit about his story, notably bringing his Montanan (and his wife's Venezuelan) roots to the menu. The result is a robust and wonderfully diverse selection of dishes made with care. Chef Tim personally serves each of the customers, adding a sense of warmth and genuine connection to the dining experience. My friends will tell you that it is rare for me to fawn over an eating establishment. But when you find a local restaurant that genuinely cares about its customer's experience, you sense it right away. Thank you, Chef Tim, for a wonderful dinner. I will be back on my next trip to Dallas!
Burnt is some amazing barbecue especially considering pretty reasonable prices! We ordered the $45 Burnt sampler platter which is 1/4lb of each: Coffee Grind Smoked Brisket, Roasted Garlic Pulled Pork, Pork Burnt Ends, Poblano Sausage, Citrus Brined Turkey, 3 St. Louis Style Ribs, 3 sides and they gave us plenty of extra sauce and extra Texas toast! Honestly, everything was great! I loved their sauce although it has a little more spiciness than some would prefer so it would be nice if they also had a milder option. Super nice and friendly people and highly recommend!
Burnt BBQ & Tacos offers a flavorful fusion of barbecue and Venezuelan dishes. Highlights include the brisket, wings, street corn, and lamb stew—all delicious! The Venezuelan lemonade is a refreshing drink. Haven't tried the tacos yet, but we enjoyed the brisket baked potato and brisket arepas. While the brisket was flavorful, it can lean toward dryness, so opt for the fatty or mixed cut. Overall, a great spot!
I ordered carry out. Honestly, this a solid choice for BBQ in the area. Not the best but very good. I really loved the chicken, the crust was very salty but I enjoyed the citrus flavor. Not sure if they brined the chicken but it was unbelievably juicy...very moist. The next best item were the ribs which were cooked perfectly and nicely smoked. I found the brisket to be dry and the sausage wasn't good to me. The coleslaw was very good as was the potato salad. Overall I enjoyed the meal and would come back. Everything was nicely packed for carryout as well which I appreciate.
I was extremely surprised how great this place was. The service was top notch for only two people I saw working at the time I was there. They were very attentive and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our experience. Other customers were treated the same and I saw several to go orders placed while I was there. The food was good as well. We had the tacos and BBq nachos. I was very satisfied with what I paid for the portion size. The only two things that could have been better was the meat didn't come out as warm as I would have liked and the table was a bit wobbly. My only hope is that this can grow into a better place as they continue to improve.
Overall pretty high prices ($30) for mediocre food and small portions. I don’t think I’d order the 3 meat combo again. The service was a bit slow, but they were friendly enough. They forgot to pack the cornbread so I had to go back and get it. The meats were pretty good, but the portions were quite small. Barely a few bites. Maybe 4 slices of sausage. I’d recommend the pork belly burnt ends. The sauce was ok. The cornbread was a huge disappointment. It was cold, so the bread was rock hard and crumbled. The butter is also sweet. It tasted more like yellow cake with icing than corn bread. Clearly she got it from the fridge and then just didn’t heat it up.
