I ordered Dwenjang Jjigae online and this is exactly what I needed for a hangover. Walking in and I was greeted with the owners with a smile. The Dwenjang Jjigae had so much nutrients and flavor and was packed with veggies and tofu. I liked how they packed the sides. Differently felt the toxics comings out.
Look at the picture. Look at that spread. All that food for cheaper than other better known korean cuisines charge for less food. Not only that, but it tastes fantastic. From the fermented items to the more base aspects. If you wanted a little (not a lot, just a little) divergence from frugality while still eating good, healthy, and within budget? Then this place has got you covered. The regular Bibimbap is a good deal.
I’ve been eating here at least monthly for +2 years and the quality hasn’t changed. The banchan here is my favorite out of all the Korean restaurants I’ve been to in the DFW area (Carrolton). I only get the Kimchi Jjigae so I don’t know about their other menu items.
Amazing korean food, the best among the 10s of korean restaurants I tried so far. Probably family run, the service was very friendly and the best!
This is a good down to earth place and homey. I love it! You feel like a part of the family when you eat here! And the food is always really good. My grandad was stationed in the East during the War and he and my grandmom brought back a love for rice and noodle dishes. Coming here feels like a trip back home for me. I imagine my grandparents sitting across the table from me. Thanks for having me! It was a good day
Very friendly service! I had ordered the chicken bulgogi lunch special. My meal was delicious and very well portioned. I’m overall very satisfied with how flavorful and fresh it tasted. Calm dining experience and lots of available seating for groups and single diners. Will be back again 😃
There were 4 of us and the owner advised to move to a larger table because of the feast we ordered! It was so delicious! This is probably my favorite Korean restaurant in DFW at this point and I've tried so many! The seafood pancake was out of this world, with flavors that just make your heart sing. Don't sleep on bulgogi chicken, it was so tender and juicy! I had the cold noodle soup dish and it was packed with tasty flavors and bright and fresh veggies. Highly recommend and I can't wait to go back!
This is my favorite Korean restaurant. It sells simple but very flavorful food. Usually I get their bibimbap (absolutely delicious), but today I wanted to branch out and try some fish. Who would have thought that a simple pan fried mackerel could be so good! It was very well seasoned, crispy on the edges, soft and flake in the center. It was not dry at all. Then I paired it with a new tomato topping they made in restaurant. The sweet yet savory taste of the tomato dish meshed perfectly with the pan fried mackerel. Also, they have the best kim chi, which is also homemade. If you want simple, but flavorful cooking like your mom (or in my case, my best friend's mom) would make, this is the place to go. We are never disappointed!
This place is a hidden gem in Plano for Korean cuisine enthusiasts. The restaurant is owned by Koreans, so you can certainly enjoy authentic Korean food here. I have visited this restaurant many times to enjoy Korean food. The must-order dishes are Seafood Pancake, Bulgogi, Soondubu, and Stone Pot Bibimbap. All of these are highly recommended!
02/29/24: tried the rice cake soup with dumplings and it was delicious. And I love that when you eat it with banchan, it changes the flavor a bit. 😊 09/18: this place has become one of the regular Korean restaurants that my mother and I frequent. Today I tried their Jjolmyun and it was tasty too! Lots of vegetables and portion was big. Brought my mother here for lunch today. She got her hot stone bibimbap (she loved the raw egg yolk instead of cooked). I got the bibim naengmyun (very tasty!) I couldn't eat it all but my mother finished it. She really liked it. We also had the seafood pancake and even though it wasn't crispy, the taste of it was on point. This place has really good food. Just a little small place in a strip center with the other restaurants. 😊
We used to come here quite a bit but that was before the pandemic. My brothers were in the mood for Korean soup so we decided to come try it out. It was all very delicious and satisfying. Do note that you only get a single round banchan (sides) and not every dish comes with rice. All in all, it was great and we will be back for more.
Great little Korean spot! So far everything I have tried in this little shopping center has been a win, and JinMi is yet another little slice of culinary heaven hidden away in a nondescript strip mall. Upon entering the restaurant it seems a bit small and dated, but don't let that stop you from finding your way to the counter to order. The older gentleman behind the counter was busy getting orders together to go to tables and for take out, but got to us before we had even decided what to order. Thankfully he cheerfully told us to take some more time and he went back to work putting orders together. We decided what we wanted and he quickly took our order telling us to sit wherever we liked. We picked a table near the front, gotta get the window seats for better pictures you know. It was a pleasantly short wait before our appetizer of fried dumplings came out, with a dipping sauce of course. Those dumplings might have had the best fry ever too! Crunchy and light, not oily at all, and the filling was delicious, the accompanying sauce was light, sweet, salty, with a hint of citrus, and a perfect accent to the dumplings. The seafood pancake was fabulous. Maybe, just maybe my favorite item we ordered. The pancake had a great consistency, not too light, but not dense, just right to carry the generous amount of green onion, and seafood mix. Every bite was fresh, and flavorful, the squid and octopus (I'm pretty sure it was both) had both perfect texture and taste. The dipping sauce was the same as for the dumplings, and I found it to be a great accompaniment, especially with a little of the gochujang to give it a pleasant kick. The Bulgogi was cooked well, the flavor was as you would expect, and thankfully not drowned in the sauce, allowing the beef flavor to come through nicely. Some places serve Bulgogi floating in the marinade to hide the flavor of inferior meat, this is not one of those places. I enjoyed it with a little gochujang and some of the accompanying pickled and fermented veggies, the sprouts, and zucchini in particular as they had a drizzle of sesame oil that really tied it all together. The Japchae was very good as well, the noodles had a lovely springiness that you expect, and the flavors were once again spot on. There are vegetables and meat, the menu says noodles with vegetables, but there is some of that wonderful Bulgogi beef in the dish as well. I would love to tell you that I found the hot stone bowl bibimbop delicious as well, unfortunately my daughter devoured it with the voraciousness of a wild thing. My wife did get a bite out of it, and said that it was, "really good", sadly I am left taking her word, and the fact that my daughter normally eats very little, as indicators that I definitely need to order that on my next visit! Overall, this spot is definitely going to see my business again, and again. We are a family of four, with three large appetites, and one nibbler, but even the nibbler was cleaning plates, or bowls as it were, at JinMi. Y'all come check it out!
This is a strip mall Korean restaurant, which is not necessarily a bad thing. They have decent banchan. The Kimchi Jigae was really nice with a huge amount of kimchi and good pork. Unlike several other reviewers, I had no issue with the service or the cashier’s attitude. If anything they were efficient ok a fairly crowded Saturday evening. Worth going to if you’re in Plano.
