If you know… you know. Yao Fuzi Cuisine in Plano is one of those hidden gems that feels like a true neighborhood staple. Tucked away in a strip center off Park Road — while most restaurants fight for attention on Preston or the main stretch — this Asian masterpiece quietly delivers some of the best food around. The soup dumplings are absolutely incredible. They take a little time to prepare, but trust me… they are 100% worth the wait. Our go-to favorites include the Singapore noodles, crispy beef, beef with black pepper, and the Fuzi fried rice — all consistently excellent. What really makes this place special is Chris Yao. He’s often out greeting guests, making everyone feel welcome, and on select days he even rolls out a special steak menu when he’s behind the grill. And if you appreciate great wine, you’re in for a treat — he also runs the wine shop next door, so the wine list rivals some of the best steakhouses in town. You’ll find vintages and wineries that are truly impressive. The bar is small but inviting, and the bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help you find something perfect. If you need a reservation, ask for Holly — she’ll take great care of you. Unassuming location, unforgettable experience. A true Plano hidden gem.
100 percent the best . I AM So glad I foumd this place . PLEASR ASK For Lily when you arrive she is 100 % Amazing This place is.clean and perfect for a night out . Fresh food and great service . You will not be disspointed . Jeff Best Birthday Dinner in Many many years
Dinner last night was exceptional. We went for low key birthday grub, and we had all the classics---soup dumplings and crab wontons for our apps; for the main course we had soft shell crab, crispy beef, the Fuzi prawns, chicken noodles, fried rice, and the ever-exceptional peking duck. thank you, thank you! Of course the roasted duck was the highlight. Also, thanks for being so patient with our twin toddlers. Y'all are the best. We need you in our lives a bit more! Well worth the drive from McKinney.
Fantastic meal at Yao Fuzi in Plano! We had such a great dining experience—from the flavorful food to the excellent service. The jalapeño chicken was packed with heat and flavor, while the Kung Pao chicken was perfectly savory with just the right amount of spice and crunch. The spring rolls were crispy and fresh, and paired beautifully with the dipping sauces. To top it off, we enjoyed a glass (or two) of a smooth 2021 FZI Pinot Noir—great wine selection! The staff was friendly and attentive, making the evening even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for elevated Chinese cuisine in Plano! Reservations highly recommended.
We loved our experience here! The crispy beef had the perfect sweet glaze and we had to try out their famous meatballs (this one as well had a sweet teriyaki and wine tasting sauce we both became obsessed with). I loved how they dimmed the lights at night. Looking around, I could tell the drinks and vibes definitely draw people in. Can’t wait to come back! 🤗
Genuinely really great Chinese food! I was a little skeptical after seeing so many dishes from other Asian cuisines on the menu, but whoever the cook is likely is just a great cook in general. I ordered the Stir Fried Green Beans, Pan Fried Duck with Mandarin Sauce, and Yao Fuzi's Fried Rice. The green beans are the best I've managed to find in the DFW area. A rare case of them actually being cooked properly with a crunchy texture and great flavor. The Duck was delicious and cooked excellently. It was melt in your mouth tender with perfectly rendered fat. I only wish it was seasoned slightly more, but it seems like they want you to really rely on the Mandarin sauce, which was good. I guess the fried rice, which was their own style, was the least outstanding. It doesn't really seem to have a lot of components and looks really homogenously yellow at first glance. The flavor was good but not as good as the other two dishes.
One of the best restaurants in DFW. If you’re within 1 hour of Yao Fuzi it’s worth the drive. With such an expansive menu, it’s incredible that everything can be so good. Usually great food is at restaurants with like 10 things to eat. Here, there’s a huge selection and everything is fresh and delicious. You can’t miss the Crispy Beef or Fuzi Prawn. We come here once a week and bring friends whenever we can. It’s basically a Plano institution. Friendly staff, friendly service, and absolutely delicious food.
I visited this place for the first time and loved it. The atmosphere inside is awesome - dimmed lights, fish tank, authentic decoration. I ordered jellyfish and duck as a food and a Copper Rose cocktail. Everything was spot on. Jellyfish was crunchy, juicy and had a vibrant taste. The duck was extremely juicy, this was probably the first time I actually enjoyed a duck. The cocktail was just fine. The prices here are on the higher end, but considering the food quality, I think this is fine for a special occasion.
Hello all, we found this place on Google maps. Thought we'd give it a try. Wife and I came here for lunch and received a great experience. We were greeted before the host guided us to our table. We both ordered lunch portions. We got the General Yao's Chicken and The Orange Beef. Flavor and presentation was on point. The decorations inside will take you to China without a plane ticket. Nice lunch getaway other than some burgers and fries for a change.
We went here for our anniversary last night and ordered several items but for the main course we ordered the Crispy Beef. This is by far the BEST crispy beef we have ever had!! The flavors are exceptional!! The steamed dumplings were phenomenal as well as all the other dishes we ordered and the drinks!! You will definitely not be disappointed! The environment, owner and staff were so wonderful as well and I couldn’t think of a better date night place located in the heart of Plano, TX.
First time to try this place for lunch. I ordered the mapo tofu and the Za jiang Mian noodles (reminded me of Korean black bean noodles). The Mapo Tofu was very good! My two dishes were not lunch optional. My friends had the lunch special jalapeno chicken, Singapore noodles, sesame chicken, and Gen Yao's chicken. Everyone enjoyed their food. I don't mind coming back to try some of their other dishes.
Searched for soup dumplings on Maps and found this place! We noticed it had a cooler night vibe on the inside and they blast the A/C so it was freezing for us (Were on the warmer side). Server did not come to us often so there was a while before they came back to us. However, the food came quickly after and this was a weekday dinner where the restaurant was almost full! Food tasted good, but the prices were a bit high for what we felt. I would still recommend to try it out but maybe a group/family style could be better!
Wanted to try this place for the longest time and finally made it. Maybe it was an off day for the chef or maybe it was what we ordered. It just was not up to standards of a higher class Chinese restaurant. Prices were high, dishes were lackluster and portions were small. The twice cooked pork with buns was something we could not finish. Pork was sliced too thick with not much flavor. 5spice ribs were oily and tasted like it was sitting around for a while and the tofu in the mapo tofu was still cool instead of hot
We wanted to try this place after seeing it on Yelp! We ordered a few appetizers and a noodle dish! “Xiao Long Bao" Soup Dumpling - the skin was too thick and not much taste! Yao Fuzi Spring Roll - Marinated shredded chicken and mixed vegetables served with honey citrus dipping sauce. (Didn’t taste any chicken in the roll) Chicken Lettuce Wrap - the filling was too salty! Salt and Pepper Shrimp - this was the best out of all the dishes we had! Yaki Udon -Japanese udon noodles stir-fried with onions, bean sprouts, and carrots, with shrimp (the sauce was really salty) The waitress was not too friendly! The ambiance was noisy and really dark inside the dining area!
Verdict: felt the place was too overpriced for they’re serving. Here’s what we got: Apps: - Blue Crab and Cheese Wontons: very little blue crab and cheese. We could mainly taste the crispness of the wonton - Spicy Ahi Tuna with Asian Pear Summer Rolls: all we could taste here was lettuce and tuna and mainly the lettuce. Entrees: - Crispy beef: good but not worth $34 - Fuzi prawn: way too sweet. Side: - lo mein: For $9, I expected way more noodles than what we got. In fact, for that price, I would’ve expected the lo mein to include vegetables as well. The restaurant itself was dimly lit and had thoughtful decor, but I don’t think that should be reasoning for higher pricing. Our server was kind, but service overall was slow.
I came here with my family a couple of months ago after someone suggested this place. This place feels like a higher end Panda Express. Everyone working here is not Chinese and the menu is English only. Not recommended for kids as we were seated in the back room and it was so dark you can barely see the menu. If you’re here for wine and alcohol as they have a full drink menu. We waited for a while and no one came to get us drinks or food order. So we just left. As for food, it’s the stuff you’ll find at PF Chang or Panda Express made for Americans, like Chicken Broccoli. I would not say this is authentic Chinese food.
8:45pm reservations for a table of 4 this week and service was so rushy and rude. For an expensive meal and closing time at 10pm, we wanted to enjoy a bit without being pressured to order within 5 minutes of sitting down. Food was basically thrown at us by 9pm! Been here at least 30+ times and its really disappointing. They seemingly don't care about any higher quality customer service.
This was my very first visit to this establishment. PB has been here before several years ago and told me that it’s fancy and food was good. My hair was messy, bc it’s been raining and yucky and have been running errands since the morning. We were seated right away by a nice hostess lady. Our server(older Chinese woman with a short hair)was very short and abrupt kept coming back every few seconds to take our order when in fact I hadn’t had time to look over the menu. She was very impatient even after I told her this was my first time coming here. When we decided to order and I told her I wanted Za Jiang noodles, but didn’t want pork, she said pork was already in a sauce. I didnt even want to ask her if I could have it with different sauce with no meat, bc I knew she wasn’t even going to accommodate me. I told her PB wants a big bowl of egg drop soup and she said “we don’t do that!”. She said it’s small or medium and comes with a meal, so we got 2 medium and I gave him mine. We ordered shrimp and crab fried rice. My crab fried rice was decent, but PB’s shrimp fried rice was bland, 4 shrimp and lots of peas and carrots and he didn’t like it. He put soy sauce on his fried rice like the White guy from the movie, Joy Luck Club, but it still was bland. How do you mess up shrimp fried rice in this fancy, expensive Chinese eatery? The impatient lady didn’t serve us anymore and we got another one. She looked poisoned each time he asked for Coke. I got hot sauce from a nice male server and the hot oil was very hot! The only nice thing the female server did was to put my food in a container. No smile, nothing. I felt that those 2 female servers were very snobbish towards us from the beginning and I don’t appreciate to be treated in a such way, especially this is a so-called high end Chinese restaurant. I find their behavior to be very unprofessional and unpleasant. They were very unfriendly and unwelcome and I really didn’t enjoy the dining experience because of them. Besides that, I’m glad I got to experience how they treated us with snobbery, so we know not to return. We will continue to go to Zhang’s Asian Bistro Kitchen where we’re welcome, staff/owner are nice and food is excellent.
I had a very disappointing experience due to the poor customer service and discriminatory attitude shown by a lady and a young woman. They were rude, dismissive, and made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Customer service should be respectful and fair to everyone, but that was clearly not the case here. I hope this situation is taken seriously and improved.
