This is such a cute little restaurant! The back patio has plants, a lofted arbor and fans for hot California afternoons. We were able to walk in for happy hour but they do usually recommend a reservation. Happy hour menu was light (and IMO should have included empanadas) but we enjoyed the papas bravas and the crispy cauliflower. Drinks were on point too! I’d come back again to check out the dinner menu.
A very cozy family owned restaurant. A short but varied menu. Food is totally on point. I particularly enjoyed the homemade mushroom pasta. The pasta has a good bite and has a strong mushroom flavor. The waiters are very nice and responsive. Patio seating is a plus. Will definitely be coming back. A great addition to the Pleasanton restaurant corridor!
My husband and I loved this place. It was a great experience and can’t wait to return. You can see the owners walking around making sure that everyone is well taken care of.
Nice atmosphere, great crowd on a Saturday evening. All are welcome, singles, families, friends, on a hot date etc. The Beef empanadas ( sorry no pic) were a bit oily on outside to me and i was expecting them to be crispier but maybe that is as it should be? Whatever.. they were delicious, the chimmichurri sauce and another sauce came with the Empanadas..so delicious. My handsome date had the Eggplant Lasagna and he shared with me, we loved it. I had the Kalesar, their Caesar salad w/added Kale and I added steak as a protein. It was so good!! They didn't have any sugar free cocktails but they accommodated me well. The staff were very kind, friendly and we had very attentive service!
Omg! The food, service, setting were all incredible. We enjoyed Brussels Sprouts & Empanadas to start. Both were absolutely incredibly delicious. For a entree I had the eggplant lasagna (V) paired perfectly with a Red Chianti Reserve, it was incredible and my husband is raving about the Fettuccine Bolognese. Our food was so good we wanted our Vegan daughter to try it, so brought home the Golden Cauliflower (with beans, lentils and Tahni sauce - not pictured) and she absolutely loved it. Our world has yet again expanded and this restaurant will definitely be added to our favorites list. 😊
This little eatery is big on service and quality. The food is actually the best I’ve had in a long time. Our waiter acted very much like an owner and kept walking back and forth to ensure everyone had everything they needed to make their experience a pleasant one. We will definitely go again.
Tonight was the first night my wife and i went here. First date night we have had in awhile. We thought this place was amazing! We asked our waiter Paul about what we should get and he recommended the surf and turf along with the pasta carbonara. It was perfect for the two of us! When you get the chance check this place out!
We were here to celebrate my Husband’s birthday. The reason we chose this place in the first place was because of the array of vegetarian/vegan options in the menu. We ordered the crispy cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cheese empanadas, bruschettas and french fries for the vegetarians & some chicken and beef empanadas for the rest of us. Everything was finger licking good. The empanadas here are a must try for sure. Apart from the appetisers we ordered the steak, pork ribs, pastas and chicken milanesa for entrée. The pork ribs deserve a special mention and it was melt in the mouth good. A big shout out to the staff who were amazing. And a special mention for their cocktails, so damn good and stiff to my liking. Overall, it was a great experience dining here. The outdoor patio space was well heated and cozy for our group of 10.
Got our table right away. Food came quick and was terrific. We had empanadas, brussel sprouts, steak, and lasagna. Atmosphere is relaxed, and the service was fine.
We spent a lovely time here for an unhurried Friday lunch. This place has a wonderful vibe! Luckily, the weather was good, so we sat on the outdoor patio. The service is friendly, and the staff were very kind with their recommendations. I had the Argentinian Soda, and my husband had an Aperol Spritz... as good as it gets! For starters, we ordered the Burrata, which was delicious. For our mains, we had the Chicken Milanesa a Caballo and the Lemon Ricotta Ravioli. The portions were generous and the taste was great; I especially loved the freshness of the ravioli. We also loved the ambiance and their choice of music. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would definitely come again!
Really tasty food, we were seriously very impressed with the quality, taste and presentation of our dishes. Service is super fast. Our waiter thoroughly explained everything on the menu and provided detailed suggestions for a vegetarian in our party about his options. This place is a hidden gem, highly recommend!
Brava offers a unique dining experience and is complemented well with classy and enthusiastic staff. Great dose of culture and culinary excellence. Brava represents everything great about downtown Pleasanton.
Beautiful back garden dining experience. I had the Clover Leaf cocktail and we shared appetizers, the empanada trio were really good as was the cauliflower. For entrees, we shared the mushroom pasta, the steak and the seafood risotto!! All a hit!
We ordered the empanada trio, the beet salad, and the Steak Argentino. The food was absolutely scrumptious, generously served, and very satisfying. This restaurant is truly an Argentinian gem. The Steak Argentino was cooked to absolute perfection – incredibly tender and flavorful. The empanadas were divine – wonderfully flaky, crispy, and generously filled, offering a delightful start. The beet salad was incredibly fresh and vibrant, serving as a perfect, refreshing palate cleanser between the richer dishes. The atmosphere is lovely, making it ideal for a date night or a gathering with friends. It has a charming backyard vibe that immediately makes you feel relaxed, like you're enjoying a casual, intimate dinner party among friends. We will definitely be back!
Read the full review below. Follow me for honest reviews. Click my profile picture and then click follow. Main Question: Is it worth the money to eat here? The food is quite excellent and while the rating will remain 5 stars, it is quite expensive to eat here. If you don't mind spending the money, then this is definitely a place to try. Now, the service is impeccable. More on that below. When the service is couple with the food then absolutely the price is worth the meal and experience. Service: The server and Chef were absolutely amazing. The chef came out and customized our meals for us. The server was outstanding. He was so understanding, so nice and always saw to our needs regardless of how busy and the fact that he appeared to be the only one on the floor. Food: We had a party of four people. I tried the carbonara, custom salad, Empanada Trio, and the milanesa. We also had the octopus and the brownie for dessert. The octopus was cooked tremendously well and everything that hit this table was fantastic. Cleanliness: I have to hit the restaurant here a little bit. My dish had caked on food on it that I had to scrape off with my fingernail and it still had oil on the inside of the plate before any food was brought out. Additionally the water bottle they brought out had syrup or something on the side of it and that was gross. Silverware: The knife that was brought out for the milanesa was broken. Overall Recommendation: This was overall a good experience and I would recommend the restaurant if you don't mind looking at your dishes first I spent a little bit of money. The food is outstanding and is on the top of the list of some of the best foods we've ever had.
I dropped in on a chilly Friday night without a reservation and the hostess so nicely seated me inside. It was very warm and cozy. I had a spicy mango margarita which had a good kick. For dinner, I had the steak Argentina which was cooked medium rare to perfection. The portion was just right for me. The food came quickly and the servers were well informed about their menu. I am giving 5 stars for food and service. I'm taking one point off for atmosphere because they allowed pets to be seated in the restaurant. They could have set aside a pet friendly area. I felt uncomfortable seated near animals that I'm allergic to.
Amazing place. Delicious food. Appetizers we tried were all great. Portions were good. Did not have to wait to get seated on a Saturday afternoon. Good service. Found parking on the street quite easily. They have beautiful outdoor seating with lights. Had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend trying.
OMG this place was absolutely the best Italian food I’ve ever had. The service was excellent. Just a little picture of our evening: we went to and early dinner to beat the rush. It was unusually cold in Pleasanton, CA and we sat out in the garden area. They had all the outside propane heaters AND were handing out warm blankets. It was the best warmest greeting ever. The waitresses & waiters were so kind and on the ball. The food each and every plate we ordered was delicious! Overall 5 star. Please give yourself a treat and take a ride to Pleasanton for this experience.
Excellent food, fantastic service, great location, reasonable prices. Awesome experience, we will be back! We ordered several appetizers to share and then each one of our party got main dish. We had some wine (excellent) and soft drinks. Mine was chicken milanese, large portion and very tasty.
Beautiful back patio and vibrant, fun atmosphere! And thank goodness they had water spray misters that kept us cool. The food was yummy. The empanadas were great, especially the cheese empanada. I had the halibut with artichoke which was light and delicious. The bucatini bolognese was handmade pasta and my daughter ate it all. If you get the chicken Milanese, get it with the fried egg. The service was friendly and happy. This is the second time we’ve been here when we’ve visited Pleasanton and it’s always a great!

First time coming here with my gf. Our waiter was super great! Food tasted fresh and the spicy mango margarita was the bomb! We didn’t have reservations but got seated at the high table in the back. Great atmosphere for a dinner date!
Good food, good service. We were in an interior room with a large loud party near us so that detracted from our experience somewhat.
We visited this place for a friday dinner. The ambiance is pretty nice, outdoor patio seating. The food is good, I liked the pasta. I had scallops risotto which no one else shared with me. I fell sick the next day, terrible diarrhea. I am not sure if the scallops caused it because I checked with the restaurant and nobody else complained about it. Overall an expensive place, service is good.
Loved the appetizers. Had a kale salad, crispy cauliflower and burrata. However not very happy with the main entrees. Went with the cheese ravioli which was super sour and tangy. Then had the fried chicken which wasn't very complimentary with the pesto sauce they gave. The small plates were a hit but not so much the entrees.
Went here for dinner and started with their Bruschetta and a local IPA - I forget the name. Bruschetta was good accompanied by Arugula leaves and the IPA was okay. For the main course, we ordered Lemon & Herb Ravioli and the Fettuccine. They were very accommodating by substituting shrimp with chicken for me. We ended this with their Chocolate Brownie which was okay. Their customer service was awesome! A child was crying and they changed the television to show a cartoon show. But their Fettuccine was cold and Chicken was a little under cooked. 4* for their customer service. Might go back for seconds.
Since it was recommended multiple times in my local Facebook group, we went there for a weekend lunch. Atmosphere: Clean and comfortable — good for a casual downtown lunch or dinner. Food: fresh and delicious. Service: Not especially memorable, but acceptable. Overall vibe: Relaxed and easygoing, which fits well for a local meetup or low-key meal.
Brava in downtown Pleasanton is a fantastic spot for a delicious and satisfying meal. We had a wonderful experience during our recent visit, enjoying a variety of items from their menu. The beef empanadas were a standout—crispy on the outside and packed with flavorful filling. We also highly recommend the habanero fries; they arrived warm and had a great kick that made them truly delicious. The power bowl with chicken was incredibly fresh and flavorful, a perfect healthy option. We also thoroughly enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich, which was well-prepared and very tasty. Overall, Brava offers excellent food in a great downtown location. We highly recommend checking it out!
Unique outdoor dining in Pleasanton. The patio is in the back of the restaurant away from street noise. Service was attentive and delicious food came out quickly. I had the mushroom risotto with scallops (I thought the scallops were a bit undercooked but that may just be my preference). Taste and presentation was excellent. The crispy cauliflower dish came with tasty dipping sauces but they were served in plastic cups. Not right for a restaurant like this. Cheapened it a bit. (See pic)
My husband and I were in town for a multi-day work conference. We chose to dine at bravo because of its great reviews and proximity to our hotel in quaint downtown Pleasanton. Here’s what we loved: 1) food was absolutely delicious - be salad, brussels sprouts, short ribs ragu and Loma Saltada 2) service was great 3) we both got their very tasty sangria (one white, one rose) and it was nice to have a glass with a lot of liquid in it instead of a lot of ice and four sips of a drink! 4) there were plenty of heaters spaced around to create a very temperature-comfortable environment. Things we would change: 1) there was a wall-mounted TV on with subtitles showing a movie during the dinner service which I thought was very strange.
Amazing taste, friendly staff and a nice outdoor seating. Went for lunch with family and these all I ordered (in photos). I think the entree’s are bit pricey thats why a star less otherwise i would have rated a 5. But overall the food is delicious.
Brava Garden Eatery's empanadas were delicious, though other dishes lacked flavor despite their appealing presentation. The outdoor patio seating offers a pleasant ambiance. It's a pricey spot, but the service is commendable. Wouldn’t mind going again with my misses to get a break from the kids.

Food: consistently good…flavorful, nice presentation, and usually a solid 3 stars. Service: always exceptional; warm and hospitable Atmosphere: when the weather is nice, the garden dining area is truly fantastic! Bonus that Brava is located is a neat little downtown with plenty of other restaurants, coffee shops, clothing stores, bars, etc.

Crowded, chaotic, seems slightly understaffed until seated where the service is very good. What isn’t good is the food; we had 7 different choices with all unpleasantly mediocre except the salad choice. The fusion thing just doesn’t work as the end product is just not delicious or authentic. And a couple dishes were served still cold inside (didn’t fully thaw). This place deserves to have better food quality….
If there is half point I will give 3.5 I made a reservation at 7pm and I arrived at 6:55pm to check in. I don’t know what happened next (speculation could be anything) our table was not ready until 7:20pm. We ordered and believe it took more than 25min until the food is ready (I am looking at 8:05pm when food is on the table). The fried cauliflower was cold so I asked them to refry it. I heard good things about this place a lot and I had a very unique experience. Update: All the service star are for our waiter, he is super polite and unfortunately he may received some of our complain. I think his service was great! Right on spot, not too much, not too little. At the end of the dinner, our waiter gave us a cake on house (I hope it’s not from his own pocket). Tasted good. So our waiter single hand saved today’s rating from 1 point to 3.5 point I originally gave food low points, but after they refried it, it was pretty good. Guess hope they can improve their reservation protocol.
I like coming to Pleasanton downtown. It has a historic and vintage ambient in this area. My gf and I walked by this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. We ordered a chicken salad sandwich, the blue burger and the chivche as an appetizer. The sandwich and the burger was pretty good and wasn't expensive. However, chivche wasn't very good and a little pricey for the quality. I am not professional food connoisseur but the slices of the fish was a bit too thick and a bit chewy to bite off. It is a $21 appetizer so I expect a higher quality. That was a little disappointed. Anyways, the restaurant has a good vibe and nice dining patio in the back. I enjoy the atmosphere very much.
Don’t be misled by the looks on the front. The patio seating on the rear has enough seating. I almost missed dining here once thinking it’s a salad place and seating is very limited. Update Sep 2023: having been here abt two years ago, now I feel food isn’t as good. Tried cheese empanadas, habanero fries, eggplant lasagna, Brussel sprouts, crispy cauliflower and lemon ravioli. I’d say cauliflower and ravioli were good but all others had not much of a flavor or taste. You can go here for the ambience and service. Our server, Colton was the only good part of the dining. He was extremely attentive and friendly. Birthday celebration: they play birthday song in full volume and sing which is nice! If it rains and you are in the open, don’t be surprised if they cannot place you at a different spot.
The outside of the restaurant looks modern And inviting. The Inside is tiny and has not much decoration and resembles more of a hall way rather than restaurant. Once you walk through the restaurant, then you enter a larger patio with cramped in tables. The atmosphere was load and lively. More designed for a group of friends rather than a relaxed dinner. Now to the food: they are still working on their liquor license so you can get for now only beer and wine and wine cocktails. The crispy cauliflower was not crispy but flavorful with the aioli. The homemade bread was good too. For main dish: carbonara was ok but not carbonara. It had a cream sauce with Canadian bacon instead of egg sauce. The chicken Milanese was not crispy and more on the soft side. The black ink spaghetti had good flavor but portion was small. Overall the restaurant is not bad but it did not impress
Server and ambience was good. Food itself was very average. Not worth the price

5 stars for our server, he moved us to a different table after complaining about flies. 2 stars for the ambience - beautiful bougainvilleas and vibes BUT 0 stars for cleanliness - the floor was dirty, food crumbs everywhere and we were plagued by flies at our table. 2 stars for food - habanero fries (12$ for this is ridiculous), grilled shrimp skewers (too charred) and were meh! Chicken and trio Empanadas, Chicken Milanesa a Caballo, Rigatoni Mushroom eggless pasta were OK. Considering the price of each of these dishes, I would expect more flavor. Chocolate Brownie was delicious.
I came for lunch and ordered the empanada trio for $20. They looked and tasted like something that had just been heated up after being frozen - not terribly warm and were very dry if eaten without the sauce, (and colder once too much sauce was added). The chicken was mediocre, the cheese was terrible. For $20 this was one of the most disappointing lunches I’ve had in a long time. The outdoor area was nice and my waitress was really pleasant which is why I’m giving it 2 stars, but food-wise at that price it was a 1 at best.
Not only did we have to wait 2 hours after having reservations to be seated, but when I called back today (October 2nd at 4:31 PM) and spoke with someone who claimed to be the owner, the interaction was unbelievably rude and combative. The food itself was mediocre at best, but the service was a complete failure—an “F minus.” I’ve never in my life been spoken to so disrespectfully by any business owner. The way they handled the call was beyond unprofessional, and it confirmed that this place does not deserve anyone’s hard-earned money. I will never return here. If you look at my other reviews, you’ll see I always give honest and fair feedback. This experience, however, was terrible from start to finish.
I was really excited to try this place but was sorely disappointed. You walk in and the interior is tiny, but at the back there is a large patio.. Now I’m no stranger to a patio dining experience but it was not as cute as I had imagined, it was definitely not cute enough to compensate for how bad the food was. I will say the cheese empanadas were fantastic… Aside from that the beet salad and chicken Milanese I had were disgusting.. Like low-sodium hospital food disgusting. The beets were not sweet at all and had the texture of mud. The Milanese was cold and rubbery… there was no way it was fried or even baked. Maybe they boiled then microwaved idk.
I hate leaving bad reviews but my experience eating at Brava was bad enough for me to want to write this. My mom wanted to a have a girls night out with my sister and I plus our tween daughters. I've never been to Brava before but my mom had a few times so that's where she suggested. We showed up and were greeted by a woman, Joy, who was instantly unfriendly. Whatever, no biggie. We walk through this very cute restaurant but are walked into a back room and seated at the very furthest table in a not very nice corner despite's walking by a bunch of empty tables in the nicer section. Ok... fair enough we don't have a reservation. Joy takes our drink order. My sister's drink comes out wrong. No biggie. Then another waiter, Ulysses, comes to take our food order. Appetizers come out, great. Two small plates of veggies, the cauliflower and the brussel sprouts. There were good. 45 minutes go by and no food and no one comes to check on us. Did I mention we're in a back corner? The vibes were not nice where we were seated. The tables around us were empty. The bus boy opened the door next our table and it was a large dark cold room. My daughter was creeped out sitting next to it. The nicer tables stay empty the whole time we're there. We see our waiters multiple times but they never stop by. Finally my sister goes to the front to find out what is going on. Our order never got put in. Ulysses thought Joy was taking care of us and she thought he was blah blah blah. Our order was taken so that excuse doesn't add up. We were nice about it and told Ulysses stuff happens but were secretly really bummed. I'm here from out of town and blew my one night out with my mom and sister . We ask for the bill. $54 for one cocktail and two veggie plates over the course of 1.5 hours. I never ever do this but I left no tip. On the way out we got to see Joy's sour face wish us a forced goodbye. My mom was embarrassed and said that's never happened before and that the nice couple who owns the place wasn't there. I'll take her word for it.
This place tries to market itself as “premium,” but it falls far short. We visited on a Tuesday night, and the experience was disappointing. The food was average at best, and our pasta arrived cold—even though we had specifically requested that dishes be served fresh as they were ready. Instead, everything came out at once: a couple of items hot and others cold, clearly having sat around. Service was also lacking. The servers were stretched thin, each juggling 7–8 tables, so they could barely keep up. Our food took ages to arrive, likely because the kitchen was busy fulfilling online orders—we saw a steady stream of them coming in as we entered. It would be nice if they prioritized in-person diners over takeout.
Horrible, My wife ordered us dinner here 3 nights ago. The worst food ever looked like dog throw up, it was so Nasty we threw it all away, $$$ money down the drain!!! Orderd the bucatini noddles with bolongese sauce that was basically undercooked hard noodles with crumpled hamburger that smelled like barf and no sauce anywhere! The worst dish ever ordered at a restaurant in my life, I always used to eat here, no problems ever! I will never come back! We spent a lot of money eating here all the time, and this time, it was three entries, all thrown in the trash, we tried to eat the other 2, she ordered, which was " Spaghetti Carbonara" sauce was broken, meat was like weird under cooked bacon and pancheta fat deposits horrible cheap meat like rubber, also basically just noodles with parmasean Noodles are very hard to eat, too. Usually, always order this, it' was our favorite! "Eggplant meatless poplet balls" Wasn't as bad as the bucatini Bolongese! But it still wasn't good and had no sauce either. Just 3 big dry cheese mush balls. It's really weird. Usually, these are my go-to. The other noodles' dishes were like they decided to serve dog barf instead, absolutely no quality control here anymore, This shouldn't have even gone out of the kitchen just looking at it, you see, it's wrong also my Wife called to talk to the owner manager Jerimia a few times, and hes never there or just missed him, the second time I called I left my number but never got a call back, I could understand a little misshap here and there esp from a restaurant that prides themselves on hand made noodles and sauces, and salad dressings witch is so much healthier and tastier! that's the reason we always would go there, we loved this restaurant and wanted to support this restaurant for that reason, especially, not too many restaurants do that these days! But this was appalling! I hope the owner reads this and does whatever it takes to resolve the issues because we really liked this restaurant, as it was one of our top favorites in Pleasanton
