A Pleasanton original! They make a very good, classic pizza. The outside seating is great and they occasionally have live music, too.
Gentlemen on the phone was super kind when asking about eating here while also needing to use a their outdoor power. I needed to charge my e-bike and I cannot tell you how helpful it is finding a spot to stop midway, enjoy a nice pizza and charge your bike.
First time visit take out. Dec 2025., great pizza, seems historic, lots of awards on the walls. Good vibes. Will return for dine in next time
Our family got together at Gay Nineties on a Tuesday night. My dad grew up in the area and has always loved this place, and since we don’t get together often, the evening already felt special. Shortly after we arrived, the restaurant filled up quickly, but our waiter, Kevin, was absolutely phenomenal. Despite the rush, Kevin brought such positive energy to the table. He kindly explained the situation, checked in with us often, and made sure we were comfortable while the kitchen caught up. He went above and beyond for us, and we’re incredibly grateful for the exceptional service he provided. His kindness, attentiveness, and calm professionalism truly stood out. The staff overall was also wonderfully accommodating. My brother and his wife have a newborn, and they generously set us up on the patio with a heater so the baby could stay comfortable. The pizza was great, too. Five stars for Kevin, the staff, and the food!
My friend took me here for a late lunch and boy was it a treat! The wine was fabulous but the pizza, salad and garlic bread were TO DIE FOR! You could taste the perfected homemade recipe in every bite. Yum! Being a Texas implant I will recommend this place over and over again. Conner greeted us and Garrett was our amazing server. Go see them!
Meghan was fantastic and so fun as our server. She even brought me extra beets for my salad when she saw me perk up at the mention of them. The pizza came out hot and tasted wonderful. We ordered a Conner pizza. Mmmmm mmmmm good!
We came here for dinner and ordered Wayne’s World pizza. It took very long to get our food to our table, but it tasted very good! The aesthetic was very nice. It was very nice, though it was noisy and had no music whatsoever. The designs on the walls and the tables were unique and interesting, and it gave off great vibes. Overall, a great restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant to people who are willing to wait for good food. A nice atmosphere overall, and very much recommended!
First of all, the service here is always amazing. We had a server today, don't catch her name but she was super nice and made dining in even better. Best pizza I've ever had! Other pizza places I've been to never fill me up but with just 2 slices here I'm satisfied! You never have to worry about not getting enough cheese on your pizza and the taste is super good! They also have delicious ranch! I'll be going here for pizza often! Tried their boneless wings too and were also great!
My friend Michelle and her partner Brenden said this was a traditional to go to Gay 90s Pizza after the Scottish Festival. So yesterday we were inaugurated to delicious food. This was their 4th year at the festival. Best service far according to them. Our waitress was kind and checked in with us. The pizza was absolutely delicious. For even better pizza It could have used 5 more mins in the oven to get crust baked all the way through and crunchy roasted cheese!! Bread was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. It was so flavorful by itself. The bottom of the crust is good. It’s kind like a marriage of deep dish with Sicilian thin crust. Besides the toppings tasted fresh and the sausage was especially good. The sauce is also what made it super flavorful on Franks Special. Read the captions for the review.
I’ve always seen this place on my visits to Pleasanton and decided today was the day. It was solid—great value for the money. The pizza dough was thick and had the right blend of salt. Lunch comes with a decent house salad. I had the pesto pizza with sausage, bell pepper, and onion, and I would easily have it again when in the area. The service was sweet. Talk about friendly people who sincerely want to help you. Love the energy. Note picture of pizza was of a friend and this is a small.
First time here. Looks to be an old time Italian/pizza parlor. Pizzas looked good and smelled better. We had pasta dishes and those also looked and smelled wonderful. Not too expensive and very family orientated. Addendum: Went back a few months later. Still haven't tried the pizza. Pasta is too good. The only bummer, the server assigned to us was not very attentive. Served salad and meal together. Never came back after throwing the food on the table. Just our server was not so hot. The other server in the area had twice as many tables and she was around 10 times more.
We’ve been coming to this restaurant many times over the years although it has probably been about 5 years since our last visit. We had a fantastic server today who really took good care of us. Her name was Julie. She was great. Our pizza was a medium 1/2 Veggie and 1/2 Hawaiian. The crust was cooked to perfection but we thought overall the pizza was lacking real flavor. Maybe our taste has changed over the years since we have are big fans of Tony’s in SF (or his newer Slice House Establishments) or Gold Dust Pizza in Ripon. I still think this place is a nice restaurant if you are looking for a well made pizza and you’re in the Downtown Pleasanton area. We will go back if we are in the area and want pizza.
First time to eating here, was greeted by Connor . Had high hopes as I’ve heard really good things about this place . We ordered our pizza for pick up half Maui half tomato and basil. When we got home the pizza was watery, there was not enough cheese . I think it was the sauce that was the problem . It was all merged together so we had to recut it. And then when u picked up each piece it fell apart. It was tasty but super messy . The other review photos look good so maybe just a bad run but bad first impression sadly .
We got delivered the wrong pizza?!?! And The tomato sauce as a odd taste but the toppings and the pizza overall was yummy and freshm
I grew up eating gay 90s pizza. The last time I ordered pickup, they kept my credit card and I had to return to the restaurant for it. Today, I ordered a medium veggie pizza, the one with the artichokes, and added Canadian bacon. I asked for extra Weil cooked and 12 slices instead of eight. I went to pick it up and looked at it, and said what is this? This was not the regular vegetarian pizza. It was their fancy deluxe one with feta cheese and eggplant. There is no artichoke hearts on the fancy one. They did add the Canadian bacon. They said that I could wait another 30 minutes and they’d make me a new one, but I’m taking it to a skilled nursing home to have it with my mother who’s recovering from a stroke. She’s waiting for me and this pizza so we can have it watching the Super Bowl from her room. I ended up paying for the pizza. No discount, no apology, just a lame offer to make me a new one which I don’t have time for. I am so incredibly disappointed with their Customer service. This is the second time in a row I’ve had a problem with gay 90s. What is going on?
Ordered a pizza for pick up during lunch break, it was ready 30min late. Waitress couldn’t print the receipt and had to call some to get help, took 30min to get that. In the end pizza was just ok. For that price point i was expecting more
The place was half full and staff was running around crazy. It took 45min to get two pizza’s to go. If you like Italian pizza, this place is not for you. It has heavy bread dough. Toppings are good and fresh. But pizza dough has no taste, you can’t even taste salt in it. Wanted to try something else but we are not coming back and sticking with Mike’s.
Food was okay. Service was awful. The appetizer I ordered never came. My child's meal was the last to be served to the point that I assumed they forgot it too. The waitress never came to refill our drinks. When everything was done, we waited 10+ minutes for her to bring out our check and she never came; we had to go in and find someone to pay. Food was not worth the awful service and wait.
