We visited Il Faggio Restaurant in Pollone and can only express our enthusiasm for the experience. Local cuisine, meticulously prepared, features flavorful dishes elegantly presented, all in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, surrounded by the lush greenery of Burcina Park. Special thanks go to the owner for his sincere hospitality and the passion that shines through in every aspect of the restaurant, and to the attentive, kind, and always smiling waiter, Stefan, who made our lunch even more enjoyable with his professionalism and courtesy. Highly recommended for those seeking an authentic, quality experience in the Biella area. We will definitely be back!
We wanted to try the seven-course menu (to which they kindly added a complimentary eighth course), and I have to say it's a worthwhile place; I'll definitely be back. The only dish I wasn't entirely successful with was a tongue skewer. I'm not sure whether it was due to the texture or the flavor (it reminded me a lot of java pepper/caraway), but perhaps more to do with personal taste than anything else. The rest was absolutely top-notch, including the service.
A culinary experience I'll never forget at the Michelin-recommended Il Faggio restaurant in Pollone, in the province of Biella. I had the pleasure of trying the six-course seafood tasting menu (you can find the various tasting options, as well as the à la carte menu and prices on the restaurant's website). A splendid blend of tradition and innovation, excellent product selection, and unique flavor contrasts: an experience worth experiencing. The professionalism and kindness of the staff are commendable, and the service excellent. Highly recommended!
Fantastic food, proper classic 3-4 course meals with a modern interpretation. The interior and setting is perfect: proper distance between the tables ensuring privacy. It's set in a former cinema, with high ceilings. Amazing, personal service - and all for a very reasonable price. Value for money, frankly one of the best restaurants in Italy, and beyond.
A truly beautiful restaurant; we were warmly welcomed. The food is exceptionally delicious – we enjoyed a menu featuring modern interpretations of regional dishes. The wine selection was also excellent. The service staff was highly professional while maintaining a relaxed demeanor, creating a very pleasant atmosphere.
We dined à la carte (there are also two interesting tasting menus). The restaurant is elegant, with dishes that aim to be a sensory experience, and in many cases, they succeed. Attentive staff. Nice wine list. It's definitely worth it; the prices are high, of course, but they're commensurate with the quality and the experience. We didn't order coffee, but they have a delicious coffee menu—and an excellent little pastry, which they brought us after dessert anyway.
Wonderful experience! The restaurant is located in the village of Pollone, in a very quiet area. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you find yourself in a spacious dining room, where you immediately feel a sense of tranquility and elegance. The staff is very kind and professional, and the food is of the highest quality. The dishes are impeccably presented, and you can see and taste the meticulous attention to detail and refinement that goes into each dish. A special mention goes to the veal served with its own cooking juices; it's truly exceptional, with a firm texture and unparalleled flavor. An experience at this restaurant is a must.
A small and delicious trio of small amuse bouche to begin the 7-course seafood menu, offered at around €70.00. My experience was interesting from start to finish: Steamed octopus, then pan-fried with turnip tops, black garlic chips, and drops of black garlic and parsley cream Scallop carpaccio with artichokes, artichoke mousse Sardines in saor, almost marinated, because rice vinegar and soy sauce (ponzu) are added Then came a dish that touched my heart: a course consisting of chickpea soup, gelatinized cooking liquid (gelatinized on the outside and runny on the inside), and a mussel au gratin with panko and herbs, placed on a fake wafer shell that you could eat. Sea urchin rice with sea urchin air, candied citron, lemon zest (I said zest, not zest), and capers The last dish before dessert was a slice of meagre. Scorzonera and grilled hearts of palm Pre-dessert with honey ice cream and almond crumble Desserts: I'm not a big fan of sweets and would always end a meal with a savory dish, but in this case the mock mandarin completed the meal perfectly. Now all I have to do is come back and try the hands-free menu and the local menu.
A perfect candlelit dinner. We opted for the seven-course seafood tasting menu. The portions were generous, the recipes were sophisticated, and the quality of both the fish and the ingredients was excellent. The owner welcomed us with a house aperitif and pampered us with a grappa after dinner. A quaint and elegant location immersed in the greenery of the Biella hills. Excellent in every way.
High quality Italian cuisine in a perfect setting.
We had a very dissatisfying experience at this restaurant. We wanted to order only secondi piatti at lunch. The waiter was extremely insistent that we order an antipasto to share among the three of us, so we reluctantly agreed. It arrived divided on three plates. Much to our surprise, the 22 euro antipasto became a 60 euro charge on our bill -- very dishonest! We were shocked and speechless and left with a "bad taste" in our mouths. Beware about this underhanded practice.
