Excellent service. Very satisfied with our order and waiter. He made us laugh and fell like we were family. The food was phenomenal from the first rounds to the second we were very happy despite the wait. (Waited less than an hour) it gets pretty busy. Beautiful rooftop seats facing the sunset. Would go back again and again!
Always a must when we are in town per the menu that satisfies everyone. I have to comment how good and big their chicken fried steak is…don’t normally order this as at the beach but I was pleasantly satisfied (get the side of jalapeños added!). Sushi was good as always and was able to add to our draft beer magnet collection
Stopped by for appetizer and cocktails in late afternoon. We had seafood nachos. They were unique and delicious. Order was large and appropriately priced. Staff were super friendly. We are planning to return on another day to try more on the menu.
I came and am had some of the best food I've had had in Port A. Not only that, but when I was not a fan of the Rockefeller Oysters, they comped it free of charge. My waitress was in training but very attentive and a good listener. Highly recommend this place!
The food and drinks were great but our waitresses and bar tender really made it great. What started as a quick meal turned into a night of laughs, jokes, and great conversation. Thank you so much!
We had a good experience here, late in the evening, mid-week. Service was friendly, no issues with us arriving about an hour before closing. Fried calamari appetizer was good. The scallops were excellent— tender and tasty with a creamy sauce. Shrimp tacos were yummy. Since it was off season, only the 3rd floor was open, but there was a gorgeous sunset view at the top of the stairs (there’s also an elevator). We would come back!
It was a rainy Sunday afternoon that we enjoyed eating at The Blue Water Cowboy! The food was delicious, everything done to perfection. Reef, our wonderful waiter, made the experience even better. He was attentive but not overly so - best waiter we’ve had in a long time!!!!
Best food I’ve had here thus far in the past 12 years. Delicious. Island vibes. Locals. Nice. And wow the seafood is delicious. Best in the island. The scallops are the best. The fried and grilled seafood plates. The pasta the Asian influences in the soft shell crab and sushi is fresh, tasty and worth every penny. Felt very welcome.
Recommended first hand by an islander as the only spot for fresh seafood. So yeah we're going to try all of the things. By order of appearance, the downstairs bar was my favorite part of the ambiance. We are big fans of live music. It also helps make the wait feel about half as long. The egg rolls are worth the wait. But by far the best thing I've put in my mouth so far this year is the Drum Pontchartrain. Wow. With the rice pilaf, what were clearly hand made hush puppies was out of this world good. If you only make one food stop on the island, this is it.
On a birthday trip to Port A, we liked what we saw on the online menu for Blue Water Cowboy. We loved the unique options. We ordered the potstickers & smoked sea salt edamame. We chose to share the Lew Roll and the grilled seafood platter with fries and Brussel sprouts. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly, and our waitress took very good care of us. Definitely recommend this one! Be sure to visit the cute store next door after dinner for 10% off your souvenirs.
Great place for Sushi for the family. The kids had the local favorite “The Shaggy Dog Roll” and I had Oysters-on the half shell, Salmon Sashimi, and Cucumber Crab Salad. We had Calamari for an appetizer. Fresh and Fantastic! Family of 5 cost $145 + $35 tip $180 — a bit pricey, but it’s Spring Break so not shocking. We didn’t have any alcoholic beverages or dessert. I had water, kids had pop. We did get to keep our plastic cups as a souvenir so that was nice. The oysters were perfection. The wait staff was attentive. The restaurant was clean. I would go back, just wish you would get a bit more for the money spent. If that price had included a crab salad for everyone or a second appetizer, I would have scored it a 5. It could be inflation, idk — I’d rather give it a 4.5 if that were an option.
Service was fine, I can see why there are complaints about service, especially the bartender. Bartender definitely needs to work on how to speak to people, especially visitors who don’t know where to stand to order a drink. Drinks are really good! The Blue Fin Stalker is our go to! Water is tap water. Food is okay. It’s the best seafood you are going to find on the island at a restaurant. Really nice atmosphere! Didn’t know they have a little night life and bar downstairs.
We ordered the grilled seafood platter, coconut shrimp, shrimp po boy and the spider roll. The food was good, but it took over 45 minutes to get our food, and the appetizer arrived only 5 mins before. We did have an early dinner(5:30pm), so if you go later, plan on a wait. The drinks were delicious!! The Fin Stalker was yummy!! We also got the calamari. Different, but good. I would go back for the sushi and The Fin Stalker alone!!
Not going to race back to BWC. It was ok but there are better options. We had a burger & a poorboy, fries & fried okra. 2 shrimp & 2 oysters on the poorboy, while very tasty, was a skimpy portion through they were not shy with the lettuce tomato pickle. Burger was passable. Okra was different in a good way. Fries were just fries.
Nice place authentically. Ordered Oyster and shrimp Po Boy. Got 3 descent size shrimp and 2 oyster the size of my thumb nail. While the food tastes great, the amount of seafood that you get for the price is disrespectful. Portion wise, the worst P.o Boy I have ever gotten, and I’m from Louisiana where Po Boys are day eats.
Came here for lunch with the family. We ordered some sushi rolls and 1 kids meal. Our total came up to almost 200! Sushi was too saucy and the rolls have too much rice. It was very mediocre. They do make a decent key lime pie martini. Probably won't come back again.
Unfortunately the service was awful. Almost as if they were intentionally ignoring us. That's our food sitting on the counter settling to room temperature while the server was behind the wall busy talking to the young lady in the background. I literally had to get up and grab our food after confirming with the only other table that it wasn't theirs. The hostess was dripping with attitude when we arrived and didn't say a word to us as she stared while we walked by her. Just a bizarre lack of self awareness for customer service. The only good thing I can mention is that the sushi was really good. The cooked food we ordered was disappointing though. This was the only bad dining experience we had on this visit to Port A.
The service was fantastic even as busy as they were. I ordered a grilled seafood platter with two fried oysters. The oysters were perfectly cooked. The grilled drum and shrimp were the worst I’ve ever had! Both were very overcooked and the fish had a burnt taste as well. The food and mixed drinks are way overpriced for the portion you get. This was on a Saturday evening as well when their best cooks should be working. Two stars for atmosphere because of other customers almost yelling at each other to be heard. Very disappointed and will not be back.
⭐️ 1 Star We arrived at 8:15 p.m. for our first visit on Monday September 15th—was really excited because it was highly recommended by our Port A host—only to be turned away even though posted hours say 9:00 p.m. and guests were still at the bar and a table. The bartender with long blonde hair looked at her watch, rolled her eyes, and the brunette waitress openly said, “It’s up to you?” The bartender replied—sarcastically, I might add—“Sorry guys.” The attitude made it crystal clear we weren’t welcome, and staying would have only made things worse. My wife and I have never felt so unwelcome anywhere. I could understand being turned away five minutes before closing, but 45 minutes early while customers were still being served is unacceptable. As someone with decades in the service industry, it’s mind-boggling to see paying guests treated this way—especially in a tourist town. We’ll be sure to tell our host and others to cross this place off the list.
