Our waiters (specifically Prahlad) were extremely attentive and very kind! They made sure the spice level was just right for us and gave us ice cream on the house! The butter chicken and lamb roganjosh were fantastic and we will definitely be back! Highly recommend this restaurant!

The owner gave me my wife her friend and my daughter a warm welcome with a window seat. The food was amazing, didn’t wait long at all by the time I got to the tikka masala I was full from the delux grill platter! Can’t wait to finish that at home. Kid friendly and very good service. Clean as well 🙏🏼

Went on my birthday with my family and had lunch buffet. They had various food which all tasted good. The waiters are very attentive and nice. The restaurant has a fireplace which makes it more cozy.

The food here is very very good. I got the chicken masala and I cannot describe how good it was. The portion was also amazing, the bread was just so good when dipped into the sauce. They actually gave a lot of chicken in the bowl and we had a lot of leftover rice after the meal. I came here with a party of 13 and we all thought that the food was great. If you are ever in Port, you gotta come and visit.

The food is absolutely delicious. I love their cocktails too, especially Lychee Martini and Spice-up and Cadillac Margaritas. The service is also excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they're always happy to make recommendations. And as no Indian meal would be complete without dessert, the mango ice cream is a must-try. It's creamy, flavorful, and the perfect way to end a delicious meal.

Overall I had a very nice experience at Diwan, the service was fast, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was welcoming, and it was very easy to talk with my date not too much heavy noise or music. The interior gives a tavern vibe but with big windows with waterview, and serving Desi Food. I think certain dishes could be a hit or miss, some of the food did feel reheated and not the freshest. But for the most part I think they get most of the basics right. The surrounding area by the water is nice as well if you bring a date, so I think the prices reflect that as well. Would definitely come back when the weather gets better.

We went for the lunch buffet. Everything was good but not great. The dal and the chicken makhani were my favorites. The rice was a bit off like undercooked. The naan was fine but not great. Everything kind of just tasted a little underseasoned

After seeing this restaurant on Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, I knew I had to make the drive out to Diwan and the food definitely didn’t disappoint. Hands down one of the best Indian food I’ve had in a really long time, however, for the price the portions were smaller than average and their mix cocktails wasn’t the best. Despite their beautifully decorated first floor, they seated everyone on the second floor which wasn’t as nice. Also, the woman’s bathroom on the second floor needed some serious cleaning and upgrading. Two stalls didn’t work and the smell was absolutely horrendous. As seen in the photos, the bathroom was just visible dirty and there were questionable stains everywhere.

Great food and experience. We ordered an appetizer to share and also split a butter chicken curry and order of garlic naan. Our appetizer was phenomenal, the curry was amazing, but the naan was a little too thin and crispy at the ends. I would definitely recommend Diwan to friends and family and we hope to come back soon.

After not visiting this location after almost 10 years, I was a little shocked when I saw the menu prices but we were here and there was no point in holding back. We ordered everything we wanted and I was pleasantly reminded of why Diwan IS the best Indian Restaurant on Long Island. The cocktails were deliciously potent and the food was truly a pleasure for the taste buds.

This review is NOT about the food…I did not eat anything here…this is purely about their ridiculous and insulting buffet policy of NOT including bread as part of the buffet, and that it’s an extra charge!! Bread, specifically naan, is a staple in Indian cuisine and an important part of any meal, and buffet…and not including it is absolutely criminal!! I’ve been going to Indian buffets for years…and the good and bad ALWAYS included naan…not including naan is literally like not including forks and plates!! Again, I ate nothing here (when they told me the bread was an extra charge, I promptly left), the food looked and smelled quite good, but you HAVE to include bread in any buffet, and not mentioning this “policy” on your website and the fact that I drove all the way from Queens to Port Washington, was pretty horrible!!

I was absolutely horrified to find a used band-aid in the lamb biryani I ordered from Dewan Restaurant in Port Washington. This is not just disgusting but a serious health risk. Completely unacceptable and I will never be ordering from here again.
