Food was AWESOME! Everything tastes homemade and packed with tons of flavors and spice. We had the special shrimp ceviche, the enchiladas, branzino, the cheese ice cream was out of this world and the tres leches was the best. Cocktails were delicious and made with fresh juices not that sugary bottled stuff. Can’t wait to return, I highly recommend.
The food and drink were incredible but the most exceptional piece of the experience was the service. We ordered chips and guacamole, Mole de Piaxtla, and the carnitas. We also tried the mango margaritas (can’t miss!) and one of their Valentines speciality drinks. Every single item was incredible. Wrapped up the evening with the flan- perfection.
We visited for lunch on Saturday. Arrived around 12:30 pm and we were seated without a wait. There were a few empty tables at the time, but they all filled up in the next half an hour. We were greeted by very friendly workers. We shared guacamole, de pollo con mole de piaxtla, and carnitas which was a special menu, between two of us and it was plenty of food. The food was very good! They had complex yet well balanced flavors. It felt like a lot of efforts went into the dishes. I particularly liked their mole which was really rich, and the guacamole.
Great experience here on a Friday night! We were seated at the bar and our bartender/waiter was super attentive and made excellent drink/entree recommendations. One of the best spicy margaritas I’ve had in a while! He was very knowledgeable about the tequila/mezcal options which I appreciate. The food was good, elevated takes on traditional Mexican flair. Pop in if you can get a seat! It’s very busy!
Casa Enrique was a wonderful find for truly authentic Latin cuisine. The menu is full of tempting dishes — honestly, it was hard to choose just one — and everything we tried was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The cocktails were clever and well crafted, adding to the whole experience. Overall, I absolutely loved this place — great food, warm atmosphere, and a spot I’d happily return to.
Casa Enrique continues to be one of the best restaurants in Long Island City and it fully deserves its reputation. Every time we visit, the food is consistent, fresh, and full of bold flavor. You can taste the care in the cooking, whether it’s the guacamole, ceviche, enchiladas, or their signature mole. The dishes are beautifully balanced without being overly complicated, which makes the experience feel both comforting and special. The service is another reason we keep returning. The staff is warm, patient, and genuinely welcoming. Even on busy nights, they make you feel taken care of and always offer thoughtful recommendations. It is clear they care about creating a positive experience for every guest. The atmosphere is relaxed but polished, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or celebrating something meaningful. It has become one of those rare neighborhood restaurants where you want to bring friends and family just to share how good it is. We also love that the quality has never slipped no matter how popular it gets. Casa Enrique is a true gem in Queens. If you are in LIC and want an amazing meal with great service, this should be at the top of your list.
My cousin from the Philippines were visiting NY and invited me with others to have dinner at this restaurant. I have to start something totally unrelated to this topic, was finding a parking on the street like, Manassas Virginia where I live finding a parking is never an issue no matter where you go to here in this town. I was little late but dinner was ready and preciously placed on the table with rest of the side dishes. I hade a probably a 6oz steak as a main course with other sides as you can see in the picture. Since I spent decades with Mexican family in California, I really do know the taste of assorted salsas and sauces, it was to the perfection. Steak was medium rare tender and was easy to chew on. I loved the masa tortilla, reminded me of someone especial who use to make it from the scratch. Our Host Andres and the rest of the host was wonderful, friendly and attentive to our needs. Definitely will go back next time I’m in New York. Thank You!
Great meal at Casa Enrique last night. We had an 8:30 reservation but were able to get sat early, as we arrived faster than anticipated. Lovely service, and we had enough pozole to bring home with us. Perfect as the weather is turning cold. Need to return to dig into more of their long cocktail list!
This is a terrific Mexican restaurant with some of the most delightful dishes. Steak is super tender, perfectly cooked at medium raw, juicy and melts in your mouth. Tacos come with fresh corn tortillas. The meat is fresh, sweet and savory. Fish ceviche is tangy, spicy. The restaurant is right off of Vernon, slightly more secluded being next to a children park/playground. Outdoor seatings are available. Service is quick. We were able to get a table on a Saturday afternoon for an early dinner without a reservation. The price is on the higher end for mexican food but I still recommend for occasional treat for anyone to try.
My boyfriend and I walked in on Sunday around 8pm over Labor Day weekend and the place was packed. There weren't any tables available, so we sat at the bar. It was very busy, especially at the bar, so the seating wasn't ideal, but the bartender who served us was such a nice guy. He was very gracious and personable to all guests, not just us, even though he was clearly very busy. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, enchiladas, ribs and tres leches for dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was great! Can't wait to return.
Came here last night for my bday dinner. I Had been wanting to try this place out for a long time and it was perfect! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed and then to top it off the food and drinks were amazing! Prob best margaritas ive ever had. So happy to have spent my bday here and cant wait to come back again. May have to check out brunch 😊
An amazing slice of Mexico in LIC. Everything is delicious - the cocktails are very tasty, with care and effort put into each one. The watermelon margarita, which was a special, was fantastic. The beet salad was very tasty - earthy, but also creamy with goat cheese and nuttiness from the pumpkin seeds really balanced it. The chorizo Torta was very good, but rajas con crema stole the show. Spicy, fresh corn flavor, a little heat from the enchilada sauce, soft, cheesy poblano. The tacos al pastor were very good - not quite at the very best I’ve had, but just extremely good and a great side plate. Definitely come on a date night or brunch experience an hour in Mexico with some of the best food in NYC. Added 8/19/25 - the guacamole, even on spicy, was a little bland. That said, the flautas de pollo was delicious and one of my new favorite items on the menu.
Didn't put a whole lot of research into this place but randomly googled Michelin stars in New York, we love Mexican food so we tried it out. We were able to get in without a reservation. About a 15 minute wait for us (2 people). The service was accommodating, knowledgable and kind. All of the food we had were really really good. We got the ceviche and guac, both were unique but incredible. Had tacos and drinks yadada it was all amazing, highly recommend!
This place is the perfect blend of upscale Mexican cuisine, and it’s authentic. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but you can taste the quality in the ingredients and the depth of the flavor profiles. Honestly, if you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend it. We started with the aguachile and the ensalada de betabel con jícama as appetizers, and both were incredible. Don’t sleep on the side salsas either, they’re so good! For our mains, we had the steak, their carnitas special, and the tacos, all outstanding. We also ordered drinks, and let me tell you, they’re strong (in the best way). On top of that, the service was impeccable, even though we arrived late for our reservation, they still had our table ready and waiting. It truly feels like a piece of Mexico has been transported straight to New York!
What a perfect experience, the staff, food, and ambiance was thoughtful, authentic, and original. This was the best way we could have spent the first evening of our honey. Order as many different dishes as you possibly can and let the well trained team take you on a culinary adventure.
Fantastic. The roasted poblano peppers with cream was my favorite dish — and the crab tostadas… and the beet & jicama salad. There were so many memorable dishes. The weather was cool and breezy so it was perfect eating outside. They were also doing a special frozen watermelon margarita with fresh watermelon. Delicious!
The mole enchiladas were delicious. We also really enjoyed the cheese ice cream as well as the tres leches cake. The pastor tacos were quite good too.

The place has a modern feel, the service was excellent, very attentive. The sauce and the tortilla work is very impressive. We got the shrimp ceviche that was a special of the day and it had an interesting fusion sauce, with Asian notes to it. The sopecitos were outstanding. I thought the carne asada lacked flavor a bit. But the tortillas were some of the best I have had. The flautas were disappointing. The entire filling was super crispy and over fried so there was no texture contrasts in the dish.
I’ve lived in queens for a couple of years and knew I had to come and try the most hype restaurant in LIC. The service was amazing from beginning to end. The food tasted very fresh and homey. No one is reinventing the wheel here— classic Mexican dishes. I recommend the enchiladas over the Mole — you can really taste the freshness in the ingredients that way!! The dessert was 10/10, and drinks were definitely well done. The place itself is a bit bland— small tables and kind of uncomfortable chairs. Very no frills and more casual than I expected. I’d probably go back with a different set of expectations and I recommend if you’re in the area!
We had brunch on a Sunday and it was great. We had reservations, but it wasn't too busy at about noon. Here are the positives: the service was really wonderful - perfect mix of attentive and leave you alone; the table hot sauces are FANTASTIC; the guacamole was really delicious and the pan frances (french toast) was phenomenal. Okay, I don't really have negatives...but the other dishes were just good (nothing spectacular). The fish tacos and albondigas were tasty, but not standouts. Overall a lovely brunch, but I definitely want to return for dinner.
Casa Enrique is a great experience with incredible flavors. The staff is passionate about their service and the ambiance is bright and welcoming. The food is excellent and I highly recommend the Rajas con Cremas. Wife and I love trying Michelin star restaurants and this one did not disappoint.
Went on a Sunday evening without a reservation and was warmly welcomed. The service was attentive and kind throughout. The guacamole was excellent—creamy and full of flavor—and the fresh chips were a perfect match. I also tried the spicy margarita, which was satisfying, though just a bit too spicy for my taste. The mole chicken was something new for me—rich and interesting, though I personally missed a touch of fresh herbs to round it out. The tortillas were fantastic, though—fresh and full of flavor. And whatever those crunchy little things they bring out before the meal are—totally addictive. Yum!

The Casa Enrique brunch menu was a mixed bag. The flautas de pollo ($22 plus tax) and the pastel tres leches ($13) were hits. The guacamole ($18), though creamy, was very bland for something supposed to be medium spicy. This was concerning because the classics should be executed exceptionally. The virgin Bloody Mary was also a miss, the added sugar imparting an odd syrupy taste.

I can understand why they lost their Michelin star. The food is good but over-priced and I think they must keep busy because they once had a Michelin star.

Went here last Sunday. My group got a spread of 12 tacos: 4 chicken, 4 pork, 2 brisket, 2 fish. The brisket was the best. Came shredded and juicy. The fish was also pretty good. The chicken and pork tacos were pretty bland and very dry. All the tacos were served at the same time and all were tepid apart from the fish (which was nice and hot), so I think it might have been hanging around for a while waiting for the fish to be ready. On the bright side the service was lovely and attentive. We also got the cocktail specials which were delicious. Overall it's a nice place, but at $9 per taco, I had expected to be amazed, and they were just middling. An al-dente carrot slice in an already dry taco just does not work! p.s. we were sat outside and got mobbed by mosquitoes towards the end of the meal, so had to leave in a hurry. The staff did kindly provide bug spray though.
