I love the sushi here. Best sushi and best deal. I haven't found any compromise on the taste. It's my favorite in the Rancho Bernardo, Mira Mesa and Poway area. They're also always very polite and courteous. They updated their hours recently.

Ordered delivery from here and everything arrived fresh. The rolls were hearty and they had some great deals on ubereats. The dumplings were tasty as well. I would definitely order delivery from here again and can imagine how good it would be fresh at the restaurant.

I have to say this is my favorite neighborhood Japanese restaurant near Scripps Ranch. The restaurant is pretty tiny, so we didn’t give a lot of expectations. But it is AMAZING! All the sushi rolls that we ordered are so yummy! I love my Yum Yum Roll, super crunchy and also creamy at the same time. My husband loves his Hot Lip Roll, it is a little spicy, it is just the taste he likes because there’re so many places that mark spicy but not spicy at all. We also got a Volcano Roll for free because they have promotions from Sunday to Thursday which is get two rolls, and get the third one for free. The Volcano Roll is also amazing, it is baked, rice less and there’s a big piece of fish meat in the middle of every piece. Anyways, you should try it for sure if you are on keto diet. The service is so good, I feel maybe the server is new, but she is very sweet and patient. We will come back here a lot in the future.

We have been ordering from AI Sushi every weekend since it re-opened. We love all their roles but especially their House Specials - they are absolutely delicious. See the attached picture of our favorite set to order - just as beautiful as they are delicious! We have been calling in and picking up the order. The food is always ready on time, the service is prompt and friendly, and all the rolls an sushi is fantastic!

I absolutely love this place! Came here at night at almost closing hours and staff was very attentive! Decided to order the teriyaki chicken for to-go. The portion was very generous and the chicken tasted amazing (Though I did bite on a bone as I was chewing). Will definitely come back if I were to pass by.

Had a spicy yellowfin tuna roll and a salad. The tuna was like butter and not chopped like most spicy tuna. It was delicious and would recommend stopping by as at 6:30 the place was almost empty.

Located in a local shopping center. AI Sushi is the neighborhood go to for Sushi and Teriyaki. This was evident by the constant number of to go orders being picked up. Nonetheless my extended family and I decided to go out for lunch after attending a wedding. The staff at AI Sushi were welcoming and extremely accommodating in seating our group of 13 without any issues. Stephen (our waiter) Effortlessly took care of our orders while the kitchen staff did a tremendous job in making sure our food came out in a very timely fashion despite the large amount of items ordered. Not to mention that the food was delicious and hot. The seafood was fresh and delicious. I ordered the kaarage for an appetizer. The outside was crispy but still very juicy. They sprinkled it with some torogashi to give it a vibrant kick. The Sushi rolls were all beautifully presented. Overall an excellent experience!

If it wasn’t for the Mexican restaurant next door we frequent, I would have no idea this place existed! I’m so glad we checked out Ai Sushi & Teriyaki on Scripps Poway Parkway. The restaurant is fairly small but so clean and beautifully decorated with an homage to Totoro, the popular Japanese character. The staff were all so welcoming, friendly and genuine. At some points however I felt like I needed a Rosetta Stone, although I suppose that lent an air of authenticity to the place. We order many of the same items at all Japanese establishments we frequent and noticed immediately that this was a standout. Particularly their shrimp tempura and cream cheese wontons. Among the finest we’ve had. We will be back soon for sure as it now ranks as a favorite Japanese/Sushi style restaurant in the Poway area.

Disappointed the menu did not have a Beef option for Bento Box. Shrimp temura is pre packaged panko shrimp. Sad. Even more sad, they do not know how to make Tempura Sauce. The owner 100% is NOT Japanese. Food is fresh, just not very good or authentic.

She served our dishes on time and got our orders right. The food was so so and the miso soup taste like flavored water . It's the worst miso soup I've ever had. The place doesn't have restroom & high chair either . Honestly regret giving this place a try.

I looked closer and realized it was a live worm crawling out of the fish. I was horrified. That’s not just gross… that’s a serious health risk. Clearly, there is a parasite problem, and their fish is not being stored or handled properly. The service was just as bad as the food. She had already been snotty and mean when she took our order — clearly irritated and in a rush, like she couldn’t be bothered to be even remotely polite. Honestly, nobody there was nice — not one staff member. I left shortly after I saw a live worm in the food. On top of that, the restaurant itself was filthy. There were flies buzzing around the dining area, and one landed on my food which is unacceptable. The whole place gave off a feeling of neglect and poor hygiene. I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but I feel it’s necessary to warn people. If you care at all about your health — do not eat here. This place needs a full health inspection, and I won’t be going back under any circumstances.
