Bellissima vista. Costo circa 30 euro a persona (dipende quanto mangi) ma tutto buonissimo e gustoso.
Very satisfied.....I called at 11:30 on Sunday for three seats at 1:00 PM and, listen, they found us a nice table...I'd say great because if you don't book at least three days in advance, it's always full. After leaving the car in the parking lot, you walk up 300 meters to the crotto. The food was divine: a platter of cured meats €12... mixed cheeses €13... tagliatelle with wild boar ragù €14... polenta taragna with pork rolls and farmer's cream €14... wine, water, and amaro!!!! Everything was excellent, congratulations
We went for lunch today. The place was packed, but the service was prompt and prompt. Traditional dishes: tagliatelle with game ragù: the best I've ever eaten in 53 years of my life. Polenta taragna with wild boar morsels, very delicate and tasty, a generous portion. To finish, a homemade cake and grandma's bitters, a fair price for the quality. A welcoming, family atmosphere. We've already booked for New Year's Eve dinner!
I had lunch on Sunday at Crotto Alpino in Primaluna, a truly enchanting place, especially since the fresh snow made everything even more magical. The place is easily accessible by car. Once you arrive, you leave your car in the parking lot and walk 400 meters. The ascent and descent are a bit dangerous, especially due to the ice, but with the right snowshoes, it's perfect. We had a delicious appetizer with homemade cured meats and cheeses, delicious polenta and meat, and pizzoccherelli, which were good but I wouldn't eat them again. Tagliatelle, on the other hand, were exquisite. Desserts included the ricotta and zabaglione cake and the chestnut mousse, which were incredible. The staff was friendly but a bit distracted at times, probably due to the busy Sunday. All in all, for four people, it cost €137. I recommend it for a lovely lunch with a breathtaking view!
We went to Crotto Alpino a few days ago on the recommendation of relatives. What can I say? A magical place with exquisite dishes! I can only give it five stars for everything! The view is spectacular, and the climb to the restaurant is worth it! The food is excellent, from appetizers to dessert; we would have gladly had seconds of everything! (Even the child's pasta with meat sauce, it was delicious!!) The staff is incredibly kind and friendly! Furthermore, they provide high chairs, small cutlery, plastic cups, and a changing table: those "little" touches that show so much attention! We come to Valsassina every summer, and I can't wait for next year's return!! Thank you for everything and a big congratulations! Marta
A nice place to reach after a short walk, but it's worth it. Traditional local dishes and fair prices. The gentleman who served us was so nice, and when they served me the semifreddo with that little hoe, he gave it to me for free. Obviously, because I asked. Their homemade herbal liqueur is the grand finale. If you're in the area, stop by; you won't regret it.
Wonderful place, jaw-dropping views, dining surrounded by nature. The quality of the dishes is truly top-notch. Prices are excellent (not at all high). Grandpa Beppe is a wonderful person. There's absolutely nothing negative to say. It was my first experience and I'll definitely be back.
Trattoria with spectacular views of the valley, a spacious dining room, and a lovely outdoor terrace for summer. Friendly and attentive staff. Excellent selection of appetizers, first and second courses, and more, based on local tradition. The desserts are also delicious. The presentation of the dishes is meticulous, as are the beautifully set tables, in a mountain-style yet sophisticated atmosphere. The cuisine is home-cooked, and everything is managed by the owners, who cook and serve with warmth and friendliness. To reach this Crotto, you leave your car in the large parking lot and hike up a 300-meter climb through the woods. It's not difficult, but a pleasant walk through nature. The price is average. I often go there with family or friends and have always had a great experience. Reservations are required, but there are no time restrictions, unlike some places with double seating. Here, you can sit back and spend a pleasant evening as long as you like.
Sunday lunch with my wife during a motorcycle ride. The place is beautiful, the view spectacular, and the owner is very friendly. The bill isn't typical of a trattoria, but it's justified by the quality of the food—the polenta and stew were truly amazing. Convenient parking and a short walk up to the Crotto Alpino. I highly recommend calling ahead to confirm availability.
Perfect in every way. Classic dishes, warm familial service, and exceptional wine for modest prices. Very special and memorable.
It was my first time at this restaurant. I went for lunch on Epiphany with a friend, and I must say it was a delightful experience, thanks to its location, the restaurant's style, and the courtesy and friendliness of the owners. We enjoyed typical local products, excellent polenta taragna, locally produced cured meats, excellent porcini mushrooms, and a cotechino that was out of this world, all accompanied by good wine and the warmth of the atmosphere and staff. The price was reasonable for the quality of the products. Highly recommended!
I liked it the first time I went with my family, I liked it even more the second time with a group of friends. The food is delicious, of great quality and the portions are generous. The trattoria is small and welcoming, I prefer it compared to very large restaurants or refuges where inevitably the quality is lost a little to keep up with the large numbers. It is also easy to reach, has a beautiful panoramic view and last but not least the bill is very, very honest. All my friends were satisfied. I wish Valentina and Francesco all the success they deserve and I will definitely be back!
Highly recommended!!! A charming place with a spectacular view. To get there, you have to leave your car in the reserved parking lot and walk about 5 minutes. You can eat outside on the terrace or inside, which is very well-kept and tastefully decorated. The owners are extremely kind, friendly, and helpful, always smiling—this is definitely a plus. The menu offers a selection of appetizers, first courses, second courses, and desserts. Everything was excellent. A magnificent dinner!!! I highly recommend it, it's a place worth visiting. If you're passing through Primaluna, you can't miss it!
Wonderful place! Very close to Introbio, a 5-minute drive. There are two parking spaces, then there's a climb on foot, which is tiring for those who aren't fit, but absolutely worth it! 😉 Aside from the stunning view, for those who love the mountains like me, it's a wonderful place to eat with your partner or family. A place you'll treasure forever. The food is excellent, the staff is super friendly and helpful. As I told the waitress at the end, when things are made with love, they taste different! Delicious! If it weren't for the AC Milan items at the cash register, I would have given it 5 stars! 🌟😉😜 JOKING! 😜 Go try it ❤️
A very nice place with a beautiful view. It's easy to get there on foot, but the climb isn't too steep. We had pizzoccheri ravioli, which were good, but I prefer the traditional ones, and tagliatelle with game ragù, which were truly delicious. The plain polenta taragna is good, but with cream cheese, it's delicious. Very friendly and courteous service.

A Stunning View Undermined by a Lacklustre Experience ★☆☆☆☆ Disappointing While the location is undeniably beautiful, the restaurant fails to deliver on the fundamentals of cuisine and hospitality, making it an experience I cannot recommend. Crotto Alpino boasts a truly spectacular panorama, offering the kind of Valsassina view that should be the backdrop for a memorable meal. However, this scenic advantage is quickly overshadowed by several significant shortcomings, beginning before one even sits down. Prospective diners should be aware that this establishment is strictly not pet-friendly; we were informed that our well-behaved dog had to be left outside the premises, a policy that immediately cast a pall over the visit. Once seated, the menu, which promises authentic local flavours, unfortunately fell short. The dishes we sampled were consistently underwhelming. The ingredients seemed of average quality, and the execution was inconsistent at best. A local pasta dish lacked the depth and seasoning expected from regional cuisine, and a main course of meat was not cooked to the requested temperature, suggesting a lack of attention in the kitchen. For a restaurant in such a prime location, the food felt more like an afterthought than the main event. Perhaps the most significant issue, however, was the unwelcoming atmosphere cultivated by the management and staff. Service felt dismissive and transactional, devoid of the genuine warmth and professionalism that should accompany dining at this price point. There was a palpable tension that made it difficult to relax, and it appeared to stem from a top-down attitude that prioritises efficiency over hospitality. Considering the average quality of the food and the perfunctory service, the pricing is difficult to justify. The final bill felt disproportionate to the overall experience provided. While you may come for the view, the core elements of what makes a restaurant great—delicious food and gracious hospitality—are regrettably missing in action.
