Layout and atmosphere is great, the restaurant was clean and sanitary, the staff was friendly and our server Joshua was top notch!! Everything he recommended was incredible!! The best Mexican food experience I’ve had all across the board!! Everything was fresh and DELICIOUS!!! It was our first experience at Cocina Maya and our next will definitely be very soon! I highly recommend this place!!
This place is a diamond in the rough! Holy smokes I was not expecting this! The food is AMAZING. the drinks are OUT OF THIS WORLD. The service is PERFECT. I would hands down recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine and amazing margaritas! Joshua took care of us and made this an amazing night.
Made a reservation for 14 and it was no problem at all! Came in with my family got sat down quickly and was served very well! Everyone was super nice especially our waitress Stephanie! She was great! Everyone’s food came out delicious will recommend and we will be coming back!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cocina Maya, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the entire experience. The menu offered a tantalizing array of dishes, but I opted for the shrimp appetizer, which was served with the perfect blend of spices and accompanied by a flavorful dipping sauce. For the main course, I indulged in the fajitas, which were bursting with savory goodness and cooked to perfection. Each bite was a culinary adventure, with the combination of tender meat, crisp vegetables, and zesty salsa creating a symphony of flavors. And let's not forget about dessert—the flan was the perfect way to end the meal. Creamy, smooth, and decadently sweet, it was the ideal conclusion to an already fantastic dining experience. Overall, Cocina Maya exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was inviting. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu offerings. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in authentic and mouthwatering Mexican cuisine.
The ambiance was EXCELLENT. Nice music in the background. It was an excellent date night. We had the shrimp chimichanga and steak/chicken burrito (dos amigos). The rice shaped like the Maya Pyramid was classy touch to the plate. The food was the BEST that we had. Our waitress was Heidy. She was excellent. Very attentive. The other personnel was just as attentive from our tableside cook and the kitchen cook. They had lovely conversations with us. The entire evening was a perfect night. We will return. This place is a must.
We really enjoyed our first visit tonight! We had a group of 6 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and drinks and the service was great! Delicious and authentic Mexican food with friendly staff! We celebrated our friend’s birthday and they made it really fun! Highly recommend! Our new favorite Mexican restaurant!
First time visiting this location ..The food was more than amazing I’ll give it a 10 out of 10. Let’s just say a 20…… management very professional… and super friendly….the drinks are epic… the food is epic…. Whoa whoa whoa… just look at the pics…. You just need to go….. the name of this Drink is called the mascow….
I have to say that it was pretty quiet during our visit, which I didn't necessarily hate. I loved the calm vibes with good music variety in the background. The service was good, not going to say it was anything extra, but everyone was very kind and attentive. Of course, my favorite part was the food😅 The fact that they serve their rice in the shape of a pyramid was unique, everything was absolutely delicious & very well presented. Definitely will be back.!
This place is one of my favorite places in Lake Mary! Their food is so amazing, their drinks are super good and their customer service? Just through the roof!!! Today Laura was our server and she was just amazing! The drinks, appetizers and food came out super quick and everything just so delicious! I love that they season everything with actual taste and it's not some generic bland food. If you want some good Mexican food, come to this restaurant it's literally the best!
I've lived in the area for 6+ years and this may be the best food I've ever had here. The drinks were delicious and the food was so full of flavor. The portions were huge, and we can't wait to eat the leftovers. The staff was also incredibly friendly and genuinely cared about if we were enjoying ourselves. And, the food came out really quickly. It was pretty slow and quiet for Saturday lunch which we also enjoyed. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely incredible spot in Orlando! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was top-notch. A huge shoutout to Alejandra for her outstanding hospitality—she made our experience even better. The food? Unbelievable. I couldn’t even wait to take a photo before diving in—everything was that good. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. If you’re visiting Orlando, this place is a must-try. Come hungry and leave happy. We’ll definitely be back!
Had such a great experience at Cocina Maya Mexican Grill! From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. A special shoutout to Natalia — she was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely sweet. She made us feel welcome and took the time to explain the menu and recommend a few favorites. The food was fresh, with generous portion sizes and bold flavors. I started with a passion fruit lemon drop — perfectly balanced with just the right amount of liquor and sweetness. For appetizers, we tried the cheese dip made table-side. It was a fun, interactive touch adding beef to it, and while it was flavorful and a cute experience, it wasn’t quite the traditional dip I expected, which was a small letdown — but definitely worth trying for the novelty. For my main dish, I went with the carne asada tacos and they were absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients, well-seasoned beef, and just the right amount of toppings. Everything tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for fresh, flavorful Mexican food with warm, attentive service. I can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu!
Hands down the best dinner we've had out anywhere in a long time. The food was fresh and hot. Our server, Gabriella was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed for the kids. They were great about making sure our daughter's food was safe for her as she has a shellfish allergy- it took a little longer because of this but we were 100% okay with the extra 5 minutes. The table side guacamole was fantastic. The amount of food you get for the cost was incredibly impressive. My husband and I both got fajitas and have enough left over for an entire meal. The kids got the nachos (which are more than enough for 2 people for a meal) and the chimichangas and both brought home left overs. Aside from the food, the Paloma was one of the best I've had.
The most AMAZING experience. The food was perfect and it was all delicious. Monica made the most perfect drinks. If you haven't eaten here, you need to!
Holy moly! If you have not been to Cocina Maya you MUST GO IMMEDIATELY! Everything was absolutely delicious. Practically everything we ordered was presented in such a cool way! I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. This was our first time and we will are huge fans of Mexican food so we will definitely be back, a lot!
Dinner was amazing and the service was unmatched! Our server Sebastian was very attentive and lively with us all night as we spent some time ordering drinks as well, we will be coming back with friends 10/10!
This is the best Mexican food I’ve found in Orlando. I’m a native southern Californian and have been on a quest for “real” Mexican since I moved here in 2024, and this is it. I had a taco and enchilada combo with rice and beans and was blown away with how good everything tasted. Wonderful flavors, perfectly cooked dishes, couldn’t be more impressive. Highly, highly recommend!
Everything was above and beyond our waitress Vanesa 🌻 was incredible on point. She helped us choose. She even gave us free shots. It was incredible.!!! We will definitely come back and ask for her again. Everything was excellent. I cannot emphasize that enough.
The best guacamole I have ever eaten, and I eat a lot of it. Made table side fresh to order. The shredded beef was my favorite meat of their basic offerings and so many yummy options! Worth the price!
Haidy was absolutely amazing! My family are regular customers and we LOVE having her as our server. She is so kind and attentive. Along with the great food, we are so grateful for amazing service!
Absolutely wonderful experience! Great appetizers, amazing entrees, margaritas were amazing. Server Sebastion was fantastic and great fun! 10/10 would recommend the queso with chorizo and mushrooms!
I’ve never seen a mini trompo! So yummy. The micheladas were delicious. The mezcal pineapple margarita was also amazing.
If you guys wanna have an amazing lunch with your best friend, this is a place to go. And you don’t realize how good buffalo sauce on octopus tentacles really is until you try it. Craft cocktails are amazing. Service was amazing atmosphere was clean and amazing. We just found our new favorite restaurant joint in town. Monica was especially nice as our waiter.❤️ thank you guys so much for your hospitality!!!
We had a great time! Our server, Vanessa, was awesome. The Bobby’s Head Elixir is delightful, complete with creepy baby head cup. My favorite thing though was the chicharron ceviche. I’ll definitely be coming back
This restaurant is Awesome! Our server Vanessa was so kind and attentive, she really listened and made great suggestions when we weren't sure about things. The food was AMAZING 😋 We highly recommend this place and will be returning and bringing family and friends.
Loved this restaurant! The food was incredible and the menu had a great variety, without being too overwhelming. The servers were professional and helpful. We were sat and served water & chips/salsa immediately upon arriving. I can’t recommend the food enough. The octopus ceviche was fresh and flavorful. We had a good time with the flaming cheese! The kids also loved their meals. I’ll definitely be returning to try some of their more popular items!
My dad’s exact words, “the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life.’ This place is a hidden gem in Sanford. We went on a Saturday night, and the party was really bumping. There was life music and a lively crowd. We went for drinks and dinner, and left with full stomach and smiles on our faces. Our server was top notch. She was knowledgeable of the menu, and quick to get us anything we needed. We loved the chips and queso (not pictured). We shared a Trios Fajitas and it was too much food for my mom and I, but so delicious. My dad enjoyed the Carnitas dinner. Definitely check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.
Food was amazing!!! Our server Haidey was very pleasant and attentive. Her service made our overall experience even better. Make sure to try the Queso and the Tamales.
I gave it 5 stars because the food was great and the service was good, my daughter ordered the guacamole and they made it fresh table side, it was pretty pricey but delicious, we will most definatly be going back again sometime.
Went there for Valentines Dinner a few days after the typical 4/14 date due to work and other scheduling issues. First time for us but I really love Mezcal so I wanted to try their drinks. They were perfectly made. Then we started with an appetizer which was the queso fundido (add mushrooms) and to our surprise, it was made table side!! The cheese pull was ridiculously long and sooo good! Absolutely Worth It We were feeling a little full from that so we decided to split a parrillada. Perfect amount of food for two and priced well at $30. We finished with two large Pacifico beers, next time I’ll just get the pint because the 32oz was overkill after all our food lol. Overall the prices were great, the service was awesome. Sebastian was our server and he took really good care of us. The drinks were on point. We will be back. 10/10
My husband and I wanted to try this place and finallly did. We were welcome by Haidy with a warm greeting and she turned out to be our waitress as well. She was awesome. Very attentive. They have happy hour from 1pm to 6pm. (Uploading photos for more details). We ordered the passion fruit Margarita (they have several others flavors) and it was delicious. Food was delicious! We ordered the Flan to go, sooo creamy. Also delicious. We are brunch people and guess what, this place does Brunch. Whoohoo. Try this place, it will make you happy😁
This place has great customer service. Sebastian was exceptional when it came to ensure we enjoy our experience. Food was amazing and the queso fundido is a must. The Margaritas flight is great to enjoy and share with the significamt other. Will definetly be back
This Cocina truly blew me away. I had fairly high expectations going in, and they were exceeded tenfold! I loved it so much I went back a few weeks later and brought an out of town friend because I had been raving that much that they wanted to try it too. It was worth the 35 minute commute, the food here is genuinely outstanding. I highly recommend getting the mezcal fired food options to share (meat & cheese), and table side guac, and if they have the cocktail flight do it! You won't regret it 🤤

Came here on the way back from a trip to St Augustine with my wife and was very happy. Had this place saved as a place to visit for a while - presumably because of some good press in the social media space - and have to say I was impressed! The service was great and we were able to sit down immediately at lunch. I started with the queso fundido which is table side and I won't spoil it with the amazing video I took but needless to say I would go back just for that. It was about 15 lb of cheese or at least it felt that way so we ended up splitting the steak fajitas next and they were phenomenal - perfectly seasoned huge portions and absolutely delicious. And ended up taking a lot of it home and having as a second meal the next day. If you're in the area and craving some good Mexican food definitely recommend this place ... You won't be disappointed!
OMG!!!! We drove one hour and It did NOT Disappoint!!!! Omar gave us the Great Tromp Presentation and We had the Most Excellent Service by Monica! She offered us her picks of best drinks and we are STILL Raving over this Place. Totally Authentic and Loved by us Mexicans! Our New Fav Place!!!!

Service was very good but I have to say that the food was not that good. I am being very generous with the 4 stars… The cheese had a weird aftertaste, it’s possible that it’s from the excessive liquid they used to make the fire… The birria tacos were very cold and the melty cheese was all dried up.. Then the tomahawk had no seasoning at all and the presentation was a disappointment. Take a look at the picture of how it was cut up and given to us to judge for yourself.. I gave the atmosphere a 4 because the music was very Loud
We came here around 4:30 pm after picking up the children from school. Happy hour is from 1 pm to 6 pm, which included 50 percent off appetizers and certain drinks. The food portions were worth the wait and everything was quite flavorful. The service was slow since it was after lunch and before the dinner. Good value but we had better Mexican food in greater Orlando area.
Fun family night at this local favorite. We were greeted and seated immediately. Had reservations but didn’t need them. Cute place and bigger than expected. We started with table made guacamole that was excellent. Fresh and made to order. Also had the table made queso that was a great show. Tasted good, but nothing spectacular. Dinner choices ran the scale…good to not. The octopus was really tough and not tasty. Jess took one bite and that was it. Interesting that our server didn’t even ask or comment on a basically untouched dinner, especially after she endorsed it. I loved my pollo a la plancha. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fajitas were good, as were the tacos. The quesadilla was good flavor, although a bit greasy. We ended with fried ice cream and churos. Both yummy. And the drinks were good too. Expensive, but good.
First time at this restaurant. Everything was comfortable, customer service was great, Monica was the best, and talking about the food, the fajitas was full of meat and delicious but my chimichanga didn't have to much meat, the flavor was good. At the end they gave us a shot of Mezcal with Passion Fruit and tajin, and it was delicious!

I was in the area and checked Google for restaurants nearby. Cocina Maya Mexican Grill popped up with a 4.9 review rating. My wife and I were hungry and excited to try it. The food was that of an extremely average to below average Mexican restaurant. The chips were warm. The salsa had minimal flavor. I ordered the combination fajitas. It looked fantastic. The presentation was nice. I’ve never seen rice presented as a pyramid. The fajitas included steak, chicken and shrimp. The flavor was bland and the steak was very tough. It tasted as it was the lowest grade of beef that could be purchased. I am not sure why this restaurant has such high reviews. From my experience, I was disappointed with how the reviews depicted the restaurant being a 4.9 experience when my experience was a 3 at best. My wife had their pork chops which she enjoyed. The taste varied from her dish and mine. Fajitas are a basic at any Mexican restaurant. As a highly rated restaurant, I expected much better.
This place looks beautiful. The decorations are great. Tables are nice. Our server didnt really pay attention to what we said. I asked for 2 waters and 1 diet soda. He brought 2 diet sodas and 1 water. He never smiled once the entire time we were there. The food was presented really well but unfortunately, it lacked flavor. The quesso birra tacos were dry. The only flavor came from the broth. My wife's carne asada was really tough to cut through and we had to ask for a sharper knife to get through it. When we used the bathroom, my wife slipped on soap on the floor and I couldnt even use the bathroom because 1 stall was locked with no one inside and the other didnt have a toilet seat.
This was one of the most underwhelming experiences that was so hyped up on social media I’ve ever experienced. We went for happy hour and then got dinner. I didn’t like that happy hour is BOGO for the drinks because I didn’t like the first drink I ordered (the baby head—it was way too sweet, but looked cool). I ended up ordering a Oaxacan On The Beach as my second drink, which was much better. We ordered the guac app and that was tasty. Then, for dinner, I usually order Carnitas everywhere I go because they never disappoint. Boy was I wrong. These were the worst so-called carnitas I’ve ever had. Carnitas are supposed to be simmered and so tender that they shred apart and then crisped up. These were hard-to-chew hunks of pork that were fatty and did not shred apart. I had to hack at them with my butter knife. I absolutely would have explained my disappointment for the dish if our server would have asked or checked up on us. Considering that we were one of like 5 total people in the restaurant, our service was very slow. We sat at the bar. We had to wave over our server three times. And we ended up paying with the bar code on the bill because the server was so slow. This poor lady was extremely nice—just very slow in checking in on us. Also, sitting at the bar was useless because there was no bartender. This restaurant has had foodies on social media make complimentary videos about their experience, but I’m honestly confused why they raved about this place or if they were being honest about their experience.

I went there with a friend for dinner and ordered the Veggie Quesadillas and there were absolutely no peppers to be found.. in a QUESADILLA?? Only canned/frozen carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower with what tasted like mozzarella or white American cheese... again, in a QUESADILLA. This is a Mexican restaurant. All they had to do was remove the meat from a regular quesadilla. So it was evident that the menu was ambiguous on this item for a reason 🤷🏽♀️ Congratulations, they played in my face. Never again. Also, they were a bit stingy with the napkins with regard to serving the finger food that we ordered. Fake reviews/followers suspected and confirmed. Only reason I give 2 and not 1 star is that the place had good lighting and food presentation, so I can recognize the effort there.

Salsa and guacamole flavor was excellent. Food however was not good. I was disappointed. 4 of the dishes were left uneaten and paid for. We really don't like to complain. Don't think server or resturant would have cared anyway. Service was terrible. Resturant was not busy. It was a birthday celebration dinner. They collected money for bill. Cleared the table and after asking over 4 times for the birthday girls slice of birthday cake, they Finally gave it to her to go. 3 of the ladys were told that there credit cards did not go through, only to find out later there credit cards were charged twice. I would never go back.

I visited this restaurant a few days ago and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The meat I ordered was horrible — it was overcooked, cold, and not what I had asked for. When I politely asked the waitress if it could be changed, she gave both me and my companion a very unpleasant look, which made us feel uncomfortable. While we were still waiting for the replacement and hadn’t even started eating, they brought us the bill with the excuse that they were closing, which felt very unprofessional. The drinks that were supposed to be strong were basically just ice, and the service was extremely slow overall. The food arrived late, cold, and incorrect. On top of that, the attention and atmosphere were very poor. People go to a restaurant to have a good time and enjoy their meal, not to pay and be treated rudely by the staff. Very disappointing experience.
