Great food even simple foods where home made and fresh. Chicken wings where huge and so good. Highly recommended staff where friendly and accommodating.
Excellent supper tonight at this lovely restaurant. I had the Spaghetti Bolognese while my husband had the wood burning pizza Al Pastor. Both were delectable. The service provided by Daniel was impeccable. He was efficient and personable.
This is one of my favorite places. Everything was amazing from the drinks and appetizers to our main course. Daniel and the entire staff were very welcoming and friendly. If you haven't been yet you need to go, you won't be disappointed.
Their beef is excellent, even the fries was top notch (ref: McDonald's fries = 2 of 10). I recommend to buy their XX-lager big bottle (dos-equis) while you wait, enough to sip on while you wait and during food. Great place!
I’ve eaten at La Choza every time I’m in Puerto Morelos, and it never disappoints. The food is always incredible, and the staff is consistently warm and accommodating. I always order the same thing..:.the wings with the Jim Beam sauce and the coconut shrimp dinner, both are a solid 10/10 every single time. Our server, Angel (Black Panther), was especially sweet and made the experience even better. Highly recommend this spot!
We have had a great dinner over here! The service was excellent. Very supportive, including provisioning of a baby chair and insect repellent. We enjoyed our stay a lot, especially because of the very delicious food! Everything was arranged very nicely and tasted awesome! Thanks :-)
This place was recommended to us, and it did not disappoint! The stuffed pineapple full of seafood, veges and cheese (I know sounds weird…but it worked!) and the grilled octopus were both absolutely amazing! The service was great too! Alex and Jair (I think I spelled it right) were so personable and helpful. I will go back again! BTW - they changed their name to La Choza!
Delicious food, excellent service, great price. We enjoyed it so much, we actually stopped by a second time on the way back to the airport. Alex (and Naomi I think was her name) was our server the second time- very friendly and attentive. They worked as a team to make sure we had an amazing meal. First time we got chilaquiles and enchiladas and second time I got the enchiladas again (divorced aka two sauces) because they were so good and the al pastor tacos
Friends referred us to this restaurant and glad we checked it out! The wings were not only done perfectly, they cook the whole wing! Many other restaurants seperate the flat from the bulb portion and call that two wings. So the order of 10 wings is equivalent to 20 at other restaurants. It was Tuesday, so celebrated the day with Tacos El Pastor and 1 Tempura Fish Taco. The Fish one was a work of art and tasted even better. The creamy coleslaw under the fish was amazing. The El Pastor was also really good, although the meat was just a bit dry. The spaghetti Bolognese was also done very well. Our waiter Diego provided friendly and attentive service and spoke excellent English which was good as my Spanish is still basic so I could switch to Spanglish and he understood no problems! Good location for tourist watching while enjoying some great food! Definitely will make it a regular spot
This was one of the best restaurants in Mexico we have been to. The food is awesome (tacos yum) and everything else on the menu. The service is beyond this world. Hair (his actual name), was our waiter, so friendly and accommodating. Great recommendations for everything we tried. Overall it was a great experience! I also took my child and she loved the food. Would definitely recommend and will be coming again.
We've been in PM for 2 weeks, this was the best dinner so far. Generous portions, very nice presentation and fast, friendly service. Only complaint is the big puddle on the side street that seems to always be there. It's a mosquito farm. Not the fault of the restaurant, but if you sit outside, ask for big spray.
The best most authentic, real deal, most flavorful tacos and side salsas I have had. The man took our orders, gave it to the kitchen, and then got on a bus and left. But in about 15 minutes, our amazing food was brought out. The value for what you get and the friendly service make it a must do if you happen to be in the area. Eat local no matter where local is
I have been to Puerto Morelos twice now in the last two years, this restaurant was recommended by someone on my first trip, it’s on the end road, local vibe, I had a hamburger with a beer, I must say it was enjoyable for a burger. I visited again, a few days ago. I ordered a seared tuna with margarita drink. As soon as I started eating, the staff came by to check up on the food, I told him it was tender on the inside, but the outsides were very tough. He immediately responded to replace another one, but I was reluctant to return it. He insisted that we’ll get you another however I said no as it would probably be from the same cut. The margarita was done just perfect. It was extremely enjoyable to drink, and totally offset the tough portions of the tuna. There tends to be occasional mosquitos here, they do have repellent to use or bring your own. I would return again. I should have
Fine pastas and good chicken. A good value for money for these dishes. The pasta (pesto chicken) was quite a lot, which is mostly the case we have seen. It had a fine taste and was more than enough. The chicken seemed a little less, but was also good as it had mashed patatoes to fill the belly. We sat outside and enjoyed our beers too (they also have cocktails). It is just one side-road from the "main" road, so it is a bit more calm here meaning less people walking by.
We liked our meals but I have some concerns about the staff. At the peak hour they started staff meeting with wine tasting. I appreciate such kind of activity but definitely not at the time when the restaurant is full of guests and they’re waiting for service. Moreover, while the meals in the kitchen are ready to be served. So, my four stars are only for the kitchen, the food was really delicious.
I went just as they opened for the day. It's a small place. Appears much larger and fancier on Google maps. The waiter Angel, spoke good English and put on nice American music from his playlist. I was disappointed by the food however. It's very pricey, and lacks proper ingredient balance. The shrimp fettuccine had 8 small shrimps in a small serving for an outrageous price. That's not the worst part. It was heavy on the cream and lacked any Parmesan or garlic, making it a glutenous and heavy meal. My calamari ring appetizer was delicious as far as the qualityof the squid and it's preparation. I got 5, yes, 5 rings. They were large ones but still, cost wise, unacceptable. I asked for a scampi butter garlic sauce which apparently cannot be properly crated. I received melted butter with slices of garlic in it. That is NOT a scampi sauce. So for a total of 420 pesos (1 appetizer and 1 entree) no drink or dessert, I felt cheated and bloated. Certainly not worth a return visit despite Anfels old school chivalry. Adios.
