Food here is very delicious. We’ve eaten here twice on our vacation and each time it’s been great. Calamari is fresh and really really good. The jicama tacos were a pleasant surprise. It’s what made us com back the second time. Drinks were very well made. Service when they are not busy is perfect - they are attentive and nothing gets missed. A different story when they are busy, but the food makes up for it - highly recommend!
Ate at Restaurante PALMAR Seafood & Grill Garage and wow… the breaded shrimp was unreal. Crispy on the outside, but literally melted in your mouth with every bite. The rib eye steak was juicy, perfectly cooked, and a really good size too. Everything felt fresh and well done. Great spot, great food, and I’ll definitely be coming back again.
This was our first time here, and we were really impressed! We only had the appetizers, but the portions were generous and the flavors were absolutely spectacular. The quality of the food was top-notch, fresh, and full of flavor. And the drinks were amazing also. We’ll definitely be coming back for more dishes soon — such a great first experience!
This restaurant is great right around the corner from where I was staying. I wanted to explore and try as many new restaurants in Puerto Vallarta but I kept coming back to this restaurant again and again.! The food is absolutely delicious and fresh and all of the staff were wonderful!! Special mentioned to Leslie, who served me twice and was lovely. I had the grilled octopus (photo below) it was made to perfect perfection with a nice glass of white wine. If you’re in Puerto Vallarta, I highly recommend going to Restaurante Palmar Seafood and Grille Garage!!
Probably one of the best meals and overall experiences I had in all of Mexico! The rib eye and catch of the day were absolutely amazing. The plantain purée is now my favorite dish! Ruby is so friendly and Javier is magic in the kitchen. Amazing would be an understatement to describe how much we loved the food and experience here!
I got caught in a summer rain storm and decided to stop here. Little did I know that they would have some of the best oysters I've ever had. I arrived about 45 minutes before they were closing, so some of the menu items were not available. The price was great for Zona Romántica, and quality doesn't get any better. There are so many subpar restaurants in PV on the water, but it's always nice when you stumble upon great restaurants like PALMAR. The bartender was great, so make sure you order some cocktails to enjoy with your food!
This was a last minute find and will sure be back for the next visit! We came to try the steak, but ended up trying other dishes because it all sounded good. We started with the Korean style ribs and garlic butter oysters. The ribs were tender and flavorful. The oysters were the best I’ve had, clean, fresh, and packed with flavor from the butter and garlic. For our entrees, we got the alfredo pasta and fish and chips. Both servings were more than enough and just as everything else, tasted great! Definitely will be back to try different items (or the same because they really were great). Not to forget, their sauces like the horseradish, tartar, and marinara (ketchup) were all really good and went well with the dishes. Service was friendly and attentive.
Dog friendly Although they need to update their location. This place is a great vibe. Food was really good..although the fish and chips could have been cooked a little bit more (crisp it up). We all had 3 great meals. And the service was attentive. Oh and the mixed drinks were excellent. Best part well priced for the area..for 3 it was $1200 so we just left 1500.
We stumbled upon this restaurant last night and had an amazing dinner. My husband had the ribs and I had a burger with onions, cheese and pears. Everything was delicious. Right down to the ketchup that has added herbs. We were sitting out on the sidewalk so had lots of great people watching. The staff was attentive and Nico checked on us a couple of times to make sure all was well. We thought it was great value for the money as well.
Great food, drinks & service. While the menu is not huge, they do have different options: seafood, ceviches, hamburgers, tacos, steak etc. Everything is delicious, my favorite starter is the popcorn shrimp. The waiters are attentive and efficient. The quality has been consistent for years, really impressive! The only downside, when with a bigger group, is that they don’t take reservations anymore. The “first come, first serve” concept works for a smaller table, but I don’t want to bring 12 plus people to then wait and see if and when they have a table available.
My friends kept talking about this place so I needed to try it. Specially, they said I needed to order the Muelle 39. This is a huge bowl shaped like a boat with lots of fried food... calamari, shrimp, fried fish, onion rings and French fries. Definitely over the top, but you have to try it... Drinks were good. Cold beer and G&Ts. Service was great. I liked sitting out on the sidewalk. Really comfortable.
We ended up here for dinner on a whim. ATMOSPHERE: Contemporary decor, floor to ceiling glass front, small bar, indoor & outdoor seats, R&B background music. They weren't particularly busy on a Sunday night. MENU: Mixed cuisine of apps, ceviches, salads, seafood, meats, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, desserts. BEVERAGE: Mojito Wow, I wish I could get a big and refreshing glass of this in the US for $4!? One of the best I've had. FOOD: Tropico I would've loved this salad even more had it come with either green leaf or even romaine lettuce rather than a paltry spring mix. The filet of grilled ahi was the star of the show, adding not only protein but good saltiness to the dish. Maria Sabina Cheese and mushrooms are two of my many vices. A small cast iron pan of the stuff came out hot but quickly coagulated. Some commented that it was too salty but I thought it was fine. We all agreed that the slightly toasted yet stale bread slices were its biggest downfall. Aros Marineros AKA calamari. The mix of rings and tentacles were thickly breaded and quite plentiful for an app. The blackberry aioli was creamy and not sweet, a very nice alternative to traditional cocktail sauce. Churrasco De Salmon Hands-down the best dish of the night. The salmon was thick, moist, perfectly salted with crispy skin and topped with a buttery cream sauce. Roasted veggies of mushrooms, carrots, zucchini and corn on the cob cane to the side. Highly recommended. Kraken I had a really good octopus at another PV restaurant so I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, it fell flat due to the lack of seasoning and chewy texture though it was charred nicely. It was a big portion for the minuscule price which was a whole small octopus minus the head. The fries that lined the cast iron pot were soaked in oil and naturally soggy. Pass. SERVICE: We were greeted and seated immediately as the place was dead. Our male server was friendly and professional but he forgot about my second drink order. Food delivery was average. OVERALL: Affordable but not enough of a wow factor for a return. The salmon & mojito are the saving graces from a 2-star review.
Overall, the restaurant is conveniently located, very close to the embankment. The interior is nice, but the tables are too close together, so you have to squeeze next to other customers (considering that I am a size S). Of the dishes I ordered, I liked the tuna ceviches, a very good balance of products. Paella weighing 1 kg with rice and shrimp - not particularly impressive - included rice and 4 shrimp. We ordered for 3 people. What was upsetting was that instead of the burger with pear ordered by my son, they brought another burger with pepper. I attribute this to the fact that the waiter does not write down the order but tries to remember it. Well, and also waiter do not remove empty plates from the table in time. With such service, I rate the price-quality level only 3 stars.
Mixed feelings. Years ago we had a good experience with some creative nice tacos. This time not that good. We order the sirloin steak and the tuna. The sirloin steak was over cooked and bland. The tuna was hard, fibrous and also bland. We also ordered the shrimp appetizers and they were mushy. Either they had everything frozen or ingredients that were not fresh at all. The waiter was nice and attentive and it is a nice atmosphere. I'm very dissapointed with the food.
As a PV resident, I’ve had many great times at Pal’Mar, since first being introduced to the spot by a local friend. I often take friends who are visiting there. So just a few days before the New Year, I took some local friends out for dinner and wanted to share the experience with them. We were a party of 5. When we arrived the restaurant was busy. But there was a table available inside that could seat a party of 6-8 people. A male waiter greeted us and asked how many were in our party. We told him we were five. Another female waiter passing by said to the other waiter that the open table was for a party of 6-8 so we would have to wait 25 minutes for another table to free up. I politely asked if the open table was reserved. It was not. We were being told to wait because a party of 6-8 might show up. Needless to say we pressed on and had a very enjoyable and welcoming experience at Los Molecajetes restaurant a short walk away. It was unusual treatment by Pal’Mar, unlike any of my other experiences there. But I won’t be taking friends there again anytime soon.
Here’s a natural, clear English review you can use: We came here specifically for the seafood paella. When we arrived, we were told that paella is only available on weekends—luckily, it was the weekend. The food was served fairly quickly, but the quality of the seafood was disappointing. One of the mussels was spoiled; after a couple of bites, I had to spit it out. The small scallops had very thick shells, but the meat inside was paper-thin, basically nonexistent. There were four shrimp, and the veins in all of them were very loose, suggesting they were either not fresh or previously frozen. At 365 pesos per serving, the value for money is very poor. Overall, not recommended.
