The food is fantastic! So full of flavor and fresh! We had the octopus appetizer and it was flavorful and tender. The chimichurri melded the flavors very well. We had the mixta paella and it was spot on! We e been to Valencia Spain and this is comparable! The service is great as well! Friendly and attentive! Coming back when we’re back in town!
We came here during our stay in the desert and we loved it. The service is great, the atmosphere is nice and the food is delicious. The warm bread with pesto is wonderful, and we both had the paella which was really good. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves Mediterranean/Spanish cuisine!
I recently dined at Catalán, and it was an incredible experience! The food was absolutely amazing, especially the pulpo con patatas, which was cooked to perfection. The drinks were delightful, and the service was truly out of this world—warm and attentive from start to finish. The owners were always present, ensuring everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place!
We had a work meal in the patio. They were very help in accommodating our party of 8. Friendly service and it was a nice touch that they remember you name and addressed you by it. We shared the octopus, paella, and carbonara. All were excellent. If you can pick in thing on the menu, select the churros for dessert. They were the best churros I have had and the table agreed
Came for restaurant week and will be back for sure. Great atmosphere, more than friendly service and very good food. The mixed paella was a generous serving of goodness. The scallops were cooked to perfection and their Catalon Caramel cream custard is heaven on earth.
Had an amazing birthday celebration, atmosphere felt cozy and charming. Loved the seafood pasta, empanadas, and yum caramel cream custard. We will sure be back for more… Great spot for authentic Spanish food.
What a wonderful find! Great great food! Definitely get the octopus appetiser and the paella! The arugula salad was ample and delicious as well and loved the crunchy almond slivers they used! Paella was nice and as greasy as it needs to be with a nice crusty bottom. Waiting for the basque cheesecake dessert now.. 😂😂
We recently enjoyed dinner at Catalan and we were very pleasantly treated to a delicious array of dishes such as the chicken skewers, the salmon and the rack of lamb. Nice visit from the Owner's wife and a very efficient server that truly cared about her job. Happy New Year and we will make a point to return to Catalan soon!
Such great food! Wanted to order everything on the menu! The owner is so cute! She stopped by our table to introduce herself and thank us for coming in. I got the paella mixta and it did not disappoint. The shisito peppers were so flavorful. The bone in pork chop was a large serving. And the wait staff were awesome! Can't wait to go back and try other menu items.
Food was a 4.8, and the service and effort that went into everything was a solid six. The squid was the most delicious we’ve tasted—very flavorful and tender. The wine pairing was excellent. Delicious bread and pesto dipping sauce. The seafood paella was a little bit over done but so good.. Still, they made things right and even gave us a complimentary dessert. The atmosphere is very nice, and the covered patio makes it especially pleasant. It’s a family business, so go and support them. The food will not disappoint, and you’ll walk away having had a very pleasant experience. We need more restaurants like this.
We were very pleased with everything tonight at Catalan. The Branzini was perfectly fileted, spiced, and prepared. We split a Romaine salad with baked garbanzo and topped with a parmesan cheese cracker. The red sangria was the perfect addition to the meal. Our waitress, Angela, couldn't have been more heavenly. She guided us in our meal selections and brought us several additional salsa to try. After I spilled my sangria, she quickly arranged for it to be cleaned up and brought me another. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return soon.
We visited this restaurant in January 2025. We were left with the impression that it was new ownership, and that they had very recently opened under this new ownership. Parking was very easy, and we didn't have any trouble getting seated right away. We were greeted at the door by one of the owners who welcomed us and explained the menu. We ordered tapas and cocktails and they were all very good. There are a couple of quirks about the restaurant. For starters, if you eat in the bar, all of the tapas are less expensive which doesn't make any sense given it. They all come from the same kitchen and are the same size. I could understand having a separate bar menu with smaller portions or different appetizers, but just charging a different price to sit in another room seemed strange. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was lovely. The one other quirk worth mentioning is that we requested outdoor seating and they led us into a room that appeared to us to actually be indoors, albeit with a very tall ceiling. It was a chilly evening so all of the windows were closed. It's possible that when all the windows are open, it feels more like patio. Overall, we would go back as the food was good. Just worth noting that there's still a few kinks to work out under the new ownership.
This was a great spot in the desert. The food was very delicious and really focused on layers of flavors. I also ordered the Mediterranean wedge which isn’t pictured that had a great play on a traditional wedge salad. The service was solid and the staff were kind. Next time I’m in town I will definitely make another visit.
My wife had the Salmon and my daughter had the Paella. Salmon was spot on, never had Paella before, but I thought it was mushy. I had the rack of lamb and it's was great. The restaraunt is ran by a family and we happened to have the daughter wait on us, who helps out at the family restaraunt, when she's not in school. It's a good story, love supporting this type of business.
We had a fine meal but it wasn’t exceptional especially given the price. The charred octopus was by far our favorite. Serving portions are not large and the paella was small compared to the price. Our server Julian was very good; he was also friendly. We had the tapas,, wedge salad, charred octopus and the paella between two of us and finished with the peach empanada. The idea creamy + peaches + nuts was very good without the pastry. I’d eat an entire bowl of that. Nice experience but not worth going back a second time given all of the other options availing the area. Oh, their albiarino was delicious.
Upon arrival the front door is a little bland don’t let the fool you the inside is beautiful. The seating is spacious and good for a nice romantic dinner out. The bartender was able to mix up a wonderful passion fruit martini that was not even on the menu. They serve bread and pesto for the table. The bread was delicious. For the main course the White Sea bass was our favorite, even if it had an Asian flavor and not Mediterranean. The service was slow and the prices are on the high side. We would have expected a little more for the price. The price for what you are getting is the main reason for the 4-stars. It’s really more like a 4.4 star. But would still be a great place for a romantic dinner out.
Pleasant atmosphere, there is a center courtyard for outdoor dining. Each of the food items we ordered was very good, service was moderately OK. The server did not listen to what we had asked for so we had to have changes made when our meals were brought.
We were so excited to try Catalan for it's Paella and other Mediterranean dishes listed in the menu. The warm bread with a bright pesto was delicious and as a started we ordered the marinated olives that were excellent. Unfortunately the Paella Valenciana (seafood) was a major and expensive disappointment, a bland pile of mushy rice with not a single hint or note of Saffron along with overcooked shrimps. The scallops over a pureed butternut squash and some sort of corn concoction was also lacking flavour. The service was on point, attentive.
I was really excited to try Catalan and sample the paella. The service was solid and the staff was very attentive. The starters were good, but limited which for a Spanish restaurant was disappointing they don't have some of the traditional Spanish Tapas on the menu. The biggest disappointment was the paella itself. I would not order it again. I don't feel like this was cooked to order, because it's cooked in a separate pan and then scooped out into the serving pan. There was no bomba rice, something that is highly promoted in the menu. The flavors were not built and blended like other paella I've had in many restaurants from Spain across the US.
We went here on Thanksgiving. We hadn’t made a reservation beforehand, and when we got there, we got a table for two almost immediately. I came for their scallop, but unfortunately, they only had a prix fixe menu on Thanksgiving. I had a good impression of the charred octopus. Other than that, the rest was quite mediocre. Service was not bad, but they were very hectic that night, so we could only sit and eye on our starters and wait for a set of utensils for around 20 minutes. The restaurant atmosphere was great. Parking was easy.
