We ate outside and it was quite pleasant. The river traffic was entertaining and the food was delicious. The Squid Squad takes great care of their patrons. The calamari was fabulous. Our meal was grand and the setting was so relaxing!

We were there for a birthday, and Caddyn, our server, was awesome, attentive, and efficient on all of our needs. The calamari was fantastic as advertised. Crab cakes, The baha tacos, fish & chips and Captain's seafood platter were fabulous. The outdoor seating on the marina created the perfect ambiance +++++ Go see Caddyn and bask in seafood heaven!!!!

I am a foodie, and my friends and I eat out often together. I usually don't give reviews, but I was so impressed with the food here. We went at 6:30 on a Friday with a party of 4 and everyone's food was phenomenal. Full of flavor, nice size portions, large selection on the menu. There was a little confusion with which waitress would wait on us, but the personality of the waitress we got(Heather) made up for the confusion. I think it's worth the price.

Yanni's never disappoints! Haven't been here since 2014 when we sold our boat. Had to go to RCS for a performance and stopped in for dinner afterwards. The calamari and accompanying dipping sauces were better than we remembered (if possible!). Fresh halibut special for me, was amazing. For my non-seafood eating wife a d daughter, plenty of delicious selections. Hope to get back the next time Dan Sherwin is there playing. It's the first time we used the front door! But not the last. Thanks Yannis for staying great.

Not the first time I've been here, but we had a birthday party with appetizers and dinner. Everyone was happy. I did not have seafood, except calamari (which as a Rhode Islander I would give it pretty good marks - needs a quick toss in butter/garlic with HOT pepper rings) so I can't rate it. The fish & chips were huge. Our waitress was friendly and efficient.

My brides parents were visiting and wanted to take a drive to see the autumn leaves. I had driven past this water front restaurant and thought we would take a ride up and give it a try. It turned out to be a great choice. Everyone loved the calamari, the Thai peanut wings were incredible, and my strip steak was perfectly done. We are looking forward to coming back in the summer to sit outside by the water.

If anyone has a problem with this place, they are the problem. It's very busy and you may have to wait, but that's because it's so good. The whole clams were amazing. I live on the North Shore in Massachusetts and these beat them all! The quantity, cooked to perfection was amazing for the price. The staff tolerate the insane crowds better than most restaurants! Patrice is amazing and her alone makes this place worthwhile to go to! I observed the bartenders and the amount of work they do is beyond normal, human capabilities! If everyone performed their jobs in life like they do, the world 🌎🌎 would be a better place. It is a hidden gem and wouldn't have even known about it, if it wasn't for the Holiday Inn Express employee! I never venture this way, but now I'll head this way often! I also took a photo of the beer keg urinal!! 🤣🤣

Went for a early dinner and was seated right away ordered the calamari, Baja tacos and Philly cheese steak sandwich. The food came out super quickly I was shocked. The calamari was amazing so crispy and fresh and the tacos were delicious as was the philly cheese steak. Great service beautiful view and delicious food. Will definitely be back!

I lived in Ravena for 11 years I used to go to his restaurant down on Main Street and when that closed up, I went to the one at the marina the one on Main Street. I used to take my associates from work when we would get back from a meeting in New York never had a bad meal. The duck was excellent. They had my favorite beer Saint Polly girl not NA I believe his name was Mark who owned it and the one at the marina is really cool inside or outside. Food was always great. Never had a bad meal in 10 years.

Best Calamari in the area. Great system set up for dining. They use a beeper system, and you pick up your own food. We have been going there for years, always consistantly good food and what a beautiful setting.

Had the Tuscan shrimp and scallop with pasta special. FANTASTIC! And the calamari were excellent. Excellent food as usual.

Love this place! This waterfront gem provided epic views of the Hudson which was a relaxing complement to a delicious meal. There was also a band which played many classic pop music staples while we ate. These mellow sounds created a pleasant atmosphere which enhanced the overall dining experience. The food was amazing. Of course we ordered the world famous calamari to start which certainly did not disappoint. We also had the buffalo wings which were a smooth, buttery tangy treat. For my main, I had the warm lobster roll. These generous chunks of lobster drenched in butter, along with the perfectly toasted bun created a memorable, tasty dining experience. Service was very friendly and attentive. Simply put, you can't go wrong here.

Great place for kids, couples, just a drink at the bar, all of it! I've been about 5 times and have sat in and outdoors and both are nice choices.i have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table and always had friendly wait staff. Tonight I had the captain calamari punch which was not too strong and tasty. My table shared appetizers of mozzarella sticks, Mediterranean calamari (my favorite of the kinds they offer) and clam chowder. My kids had the chicken finger basket and fish and chips. I had the broiled seafood trio which came with whitefish, 4 shrimp, 3 scallops, carrots, purple cabbage, rice and super fresh and crisp green beans. The others in my party had the grown up mac and cheese, nut encrusted chicken salad and fried clam basket. The only thing I heard was not great was that the Cole slaw was bland. Otherwise rave reviews! Also, they had a musician singing and playing guitar. My 4 and 6 year olds were psyched so we couldn't leave without our dance on! Great visit!

Such a fun, family friendly restaurant right on the Hudson! Boats right in the river if you sit outside with a great view. The food is great as well! Calamari is a must! All flavors are great… I’d suggest the Buffalo flavor. I ordered the fish and chips… such a huge portion of food. If you are in the area, I’d very much recommend Yanni’s Too! You will not be disappointed.

Incredible dining experience. We waited 30 minutes to dine in outdoor seating. Before dinner we walked around the park and watched the boats on the Hudson River. Lots of choices on the menu. Fried clams are incredible. I would return just for a plate of fried clams. Waitress was happy, accommodating and upbeat. Many families eating with younger children! Musician sounded like blues travelers/ Dave Matthew's. Really calming, Played for hours!! Seated by the boat docks we watched boats go up-and-down the Hudson river. My friend's medium rare steak was cooked to perfection. I ordered a lobster dish and it was Sweet and delicious. They have authentic New York cheesecake.Highly recommended.

First time docking a boat and going to a restaurant. What a great experience being on the water and then getting delicious food. Calamari was lightly fried and cooked perfectly. The mussels with pesto chardonnay sauce was flavorful but had some flour lumps. Needed additional whisking. The fish and chips were very large portions. The fish was fried golden brown and crispy. Crab cake sandwich was pan fried crispy and great crab flavor with seafood seasoning taste. Delicious with remoulade sauce. Sweet potato fries are crunchy and delicious. Worth the stop and very friendly staff.

On a beautiful day it's hard to beat Yanni's Too. So peaceful and relaxing to sit near the water and small harbor with private boats coming and going. Yanni's has really good seafood. Love the calamari, so good. Fish and chips is delicious and a huge portion. Baked trio with fish, scallops and shrimp in a wine sauce is good also. Too many to list. Great selection of drinks and local and international beers on tap. Efficient and friendly wait staff. We love it there.

Inviting atmosphere on the Hudson with weekend music, good food and personable staff. The menu has great choices but not not overwhelming. There are often a list of specials. Nice to sit outside with choices for shaded seating and watching the boats come in and out. Food and drinks are good but not always consistent which is the only reason for the star deduction along with the parking lot needs added gravel as it's a dust storm!! Don't go when you've just washed washed your car!

Ambiance great. Had live music and singer played well. Server was very professional and likable but was incredibly busy- too many large tables to serve. Our food was ok. Clam chowder didn't have much fish in it. Fried food had too much breading and broiled good had way too much butter poured on it. Overall a 7 out of 10 for food. Disappointing.

I have been here more than a handful of times over the years and I always have a pleasant experience. The staff is always welcoming and nice, very attentive. On my last visit, a friend had a piece of grouper that either wasn't fully cooked or not fresh but the waitress showed the chef and they agreed it wasn't good and took it off the bill. That was the first and only time we have ever had an issue with the food. Yanni's is very reliable for a good seafood meal and I enjoy sitting outside and watching the boats on the river.

Excellent seafood served in a casual style. Our party was 6+ seated at a long table outside. Being next to the river gave us a nice view. All our orders were very tasty. For a casual dining spot, the prices were a tad high. 2 orders were a late coming from the kitchen, and 1 of those was very late. The food was great, the atmosphere pleasant and we had a very nice time.

So the extended family and I went there this year for fathers day. We were out under the tent, next to the where the boats come in. It was very hot out, but there was a breeze, so it wasn't too bad. There's a porch area also that might be nicer, and an area inside where it's air conditioned. They can serve a lot of people, but it didn't feel crowded. I had a the Philly Steak sandwhich and sweet potato fries, both of which were ok, but nothing to write home about. I also got a taste of the crab cakes over spinach, which was really good. My wife got a salad and onion rings. The onion rings were awesome! They were even awesome after heating them up in the oven the next day. I think they specialize in fried food, so if you love fried, you love Yanni's For desert, someone got the creamsicle pie. This was very yummy. Not too sweet, just right. Because it was unusual, I took a picture of the beer keg urinals in the mens bathroom.

The atmosphere was relaxed, fun, and inviting. Both the hostess and server were friendly and accommodating. As someone with a wheat allergy, I appreciated the many options available, including rolls, pasta, and even corn flour for fried seafood. While the waitstaff had some knowledge of wheat-containing items, they were very cautious and made sure to check with the kitchen. The live music on Friday night added a great vibe to the evening!

Nice little gem in the middle of nowhere. Might be one of the best fried calamari I’ve ever had — somehow both moist and crunchy, with delicious sauce and a in a giant portion. Wow, couldn’t stop eating. The (also giant) lobster mac and cheese was delicious although I’m not sure penne pasta works as well as traditional smaller one. Still, I enjoyed it and it did its job of putting us in a food coma. Cheap drinks and fast service.

I drove an hour to get here because I saw they had whole belly clams on the menu, which are really difficult to find in this area. What a disappointment! I paid 32.99 for clam strips. The French fries were good though and our server was nice, although she totally ignored the fact that I barely touched my food.

Went for Mother's Day. Only had buffet at $35.00 a person except children. My thought a bit pricey for what we got. No ordering off menu. Not happy with food choices. Ham, turkey sliced, and roast beef in gravy good, peel your own shrimp ,cubed potatoes not cooked thru, green beans tough, several pasta dishes, some beets dish, fried zucchini cubes not sure what some items were and disappointed in desserts. Not kid friendly. I knew it would be costly however excepted more seafood choices

The food was great. The ambiance was great. The indoor/outdoor nature of the seating is great. The short ride south of Albany is great. The $29 entree was great. The grouper was cooked great. The lobster was cooked great. The portion on the plate was great. The thought that I could eat half, and then have the other half the next day, was great. The waiter taking the plate and dumping it, not boxing it SUCKED. Being told that I would get another half entree made and given to me to make it right was great. GETTING $8 TAKEN OFF THE BILL IN COMPENSATION, SUCKED. Should you go there for the food and ambience, yes.

Lots of deep fried food, tasty but not low calories. Could have enjoyed seeing some more delicate seafood entrees. Service cheerful and friendly, efficient. Nice being outside and that's the only big plus.

Unfortunately the calamari was not very good! Very greasy and small, was very surprised. The blue cheese chips were good. $13 for a happy hot margarita is a little excessive, the watermelon sangria was a let down.

So I will start by saying the food was excellent . We went for a Easter buffet. The bill came and we were completely blindsided that they automatically add 20 percent gratitudy to the bill. There was only three of us . And a 1 toddler who hardly eats. The extra 25 bucks was added to our bill. Now we always tip . But being it wad a buffet we waited on ourselves. Never got asked for refills. Which drinks were not Included in this buffet (which we also never got told) or it wasn't advertised. Also was never advertised that 20 percent gratitudy would be added to our bull automatically. Will not be coming here again and will be passing this along to friends family and Co workers that tips are automatically included.

In all fairness I went on a Saturday at 6:40pm. We waited 1hr 20 min for a table outside for 2. 1 cup of chowder.. Fish and chips platter and the fried shrimp platter with 1 soda came to $55. The fish was just heavy with grease leading me to believe it was just cooked ahead of time and kept under a warmer until ordered. Shrimp platter was decent. Coleslaw was bland but not horrible. We liked the setting on the river... very nice. We will try to visit again.... Burgers and salad next time around.

Maybe it’s because I was in on a Sunday, overall I wouldn’t come back of my own volition. Generally the breading on everything I ordered was mostly that-breading. The fish and chips had more breading on it than fish. The calamari was more breading than squid. Fries were twice fried and more burnt than fried. Clam chowder was okay. Best part of the order was coleslaw. I had been really looking forward to trying this place for months and now I’m just wondering why people don’t drive an extra 30 min for better fare.

I came alone on a mid Sunday afternoon recently. I waited better than five minutes at the host stand before getting seated even though multiple servers and bussers were about the room. I finally got seated, but then another several minutes passed with no server stopping. The host walked by and asked if I had been seen to which I let her know it had been a while waiting. She had to flag a kid and have hime take my order. The service and food from that point on was ok, but the long waits when the room was only a third full left a poor impression.

Usually this is one of our favorite places, a five-star, rarely a four. The on the river setting (marina) is always a highlight and relaxing. We arrived about 11:30 and the door was not open (supposed to be open at 11), after waiting about 5-minutes, my wife walked around and let the staff know. A girl went to the door and unlocked it but never opened the door to welcome the waiting people in. My wife came to open the door and let us in, we didn't know the girl unlocked it. Not a big deal but certainly not the typical hospitality at Yannis. Our server was Caydyn, attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was a step down this trip, shrimp cocktail was made with small shrimp, not jumbo or large shrimp and there were only four. I ordered the clam whole belly special. There were only two actual whole belly shrimp and the rest were standard clam strips. It was served in a red white checkered cardboard holder with french fries, more consistent with an order from Teds. Taking away the $50 wine accompaniment the experience was not worth of the other $90 we paid.

Went with 2 other couples and waited about 45 minutes for a table outdoors on the covered patio. We asked if we could do separate checks, and we got an answer that they do not normally do that, but this time they would. We had ordered a salad and 2 orders of the original calamari. Everything came out about 15 minutes later. Calamari was sold and very soggy as if it was just sitting in oil. Discarded most of it, the broiled seafood platter was okay, and scallops and shrimp were overcooked. The fish was really good with a crust on top and a cream sauce. The whole belly clams were very good.

Great location/ambiance..... After driving 30 minutes to try a place that so many people say have the "best calamari", we were sadly disappointed with our meal.... We ordered the Calamari sampler, which had 3 different "flavors"....while the calamari itself was good, we were less than impressed by the Rhode Island as it was just original with banana peppers thrown on top and the chipotle got so mushy so fast it was almost hard to eat. But the coating was good and the calamari was not chewy at all. We both ordered off the specials menu, I had the grouper picatta which was so salty I couldn't even eat it and my husband ordered the baked stuffed sole which he said was fairly generic. The worst part of the meal was the rice, it seemed like it was straight out of a box, just a big salt bomb in the middle of the plate. The roll was pretty good, but a little chewy. Best part of both our meals was the fresh steamed green beans... sadly, we won't be making the trip again. 3/5 stars because of the beautiful setting and the calamari.

Out of a sense of respect for the many people who seem to like this place, and for the many other diners who were there the night we ate, I added a star to my review that was not really warranted. It takes a lot for me to be so critical, but this place makes it easy. It is the absolutely worst restaurant meal I can remember having. Anywhere! From dirty, plastic-covered menus that are falling apart, to decor that seems to have been retrieved from a flood, my appetite was destroyed even before I ordered. The so called "voted best in the capital region" calamari was crispy, but then the kitchen larded on its special sauce, making the otherwise acceptable, crispy breading a soggy mess. Why? Our dishes were plentiful, in terms of quantity, but presented so unappetzingly they were not worth eating, or taking home. The service was adequate. But there is a big, easy-to-find-a-space parking lot. ActuallyI wish there weren't; I would have saved the $100+ I wasted, most of which was spent on mediocre wine and a house- developed drink that was as awful as the food. It could be so much better with just a little effort, especially as it is the only serious restaurant for miles in any direction. The people who come here regularly deserve much more.

After moving out of town 6 years ago I was flabbergasted when I returned to find the new menu prices. Battered fish was now like $22.95 and although 2 of our 6 diners actually ordered it still, they were both in agreement it was 75% batter and couldn't even finish it. The rest of the menu was fairly pricey in the $23-$32 range and this was the general consensus after spending some time in the area and talking to other locals. Calamari was never what it was cracked up to be and even with 6 guests no one cared to finish it all. That's the first and last visit in the past 6 years.

Hudson valley’s greatest calamari?? Worst I’ve ever had. Soggy and grey , not even a golden crust on them. I recommended this place to my family Our bill came to $130, and none of us enjoyed our meal. I feel badly that we spent so much $ on a terrible meal. The fries were good though. But really how can you screw up fries. My scallops were sandy and salty and the fish tasted like the Hudson River . A $26 price tag , Same with my daughters meal. My husband ate his meal, 26$ but he was hungry. Then stated it was extremely salty. Our waitress was very sweet . Yannis 2 was on my bucket list of places to visit , unfortunately I won’t be returning, and would not recommend this place. we did enjoy watching the swan 🦢 swim by . $130 spent , still hungry and craving a great meal.

Ordered a strip steak medium and it came out very rare so sent it back to be cooked a tad more. Waited over twenty minutes while my companion ate her dinner and it was well well done. What a disappointment. Our waiter was amazing. I should have asked for the manager and had it taken off the bill. Dinner was ruined ! A great steak went to waste.

Very disappointed that they served a fried Captains dinner ordered with onion rings with the fried fish served on top of the rings making them oily, soggy and inedible. Same for fried shrimp with fries. Doesn’t make sense.

Very disappointed in this place that got such good ratings . It was expensive for the quality and not good at all. The Lobster chowder could have been Campbell's vegetable soup and didn't even taste like lobster at all. From that point an I knew it was going to be a disaster..Will never go back .

Arrived at 8:00 PM Saturday. Indoor seating was not busy. Half empty. Outside seating area was busy. They had plenty of help to take care of each area. We were seated and it took a while for someone to ask about our drink order. Nothing fancy, 2 beers for 2 people. 15 minutes went by. We kept looking for our wait person but we saw them all socializing and not paying attention to any of the customers. I have always loved it here. Usually great food and atmosphere. We left without waiting for our drinks.

food was terrible. crabcakes were wet and fishy. i regret paying 15 for my drink and it was the only thing i enjoyed. ill be going to red lobster next time. which is really sad.

Terrible! Service is beyond bad and they don’t take reservations so you will be waiting for an hour or more since they don’t have enough servers. Only go if you live very close and then be prepared to wait endlessly. There are much better restaurants that don’t pull this crap. Never again!

Based on the other reviews here I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt and say we hit the restaurant on a bad night. The seafood did not taste fresh, it in fact had a spoiled taste. I have never in my life had to return a meal and ask for it to be removed from my bill. I felt sick to my stomach leaving. The staff was super friendly and my waiter was kind. He said it was fresh but “undercooked” and removed the cost. I appreciated the staff but will never return again. I spent $100 on a few underwhelming drinks and the other persons meal that was also not fresh tasting but they chose not to complain. Very disappointed.

They wanted to make it right which I appreciate, but as a rule if I have to send food back I will not take anything else from the kitchen. I love this location!! However the Calamari was over cooked and greasy. The lobster roll had 3oz of meat on a 4 inch roll. The menu states it is butter poached but the meat lacked flavor and tasted steamed. The Clam Chowder had little flavor and clams. It was in a disposable paper container that was falling apart. The coleslaw tasted like watered down Mayo. The chips and fries had no salt or seasoning. The server seemed like we were taking her from the rest of her day. Very pushy, rude, never asked if we needed refills and when we asked she was annoyed, finally she kept coming over after 15 min there to see if we were ready to order our main meal even after ordering appetizers that still didn't arrive. Then when the food was there she never came back to check if we needed refills or if the food was good. After a long week we just needed to relax and this was a rough experience with a waitress who seemed like we were annoying her. We really needed this to be a great experience. Sorry it's hard to support a local business when this happens. 😔
