Usually good but it sure depends on who is cooking! I pick your best waitresses and that would be Jackie and a young one with a pony- tail, still in high school. Ana is nice but Ihave been coming there for years and she doesn't listen or pay attention to how like things, and so brings it another way. Like, for instant, I have never ordered lemon with my ice tea, never have liked it, but after all these years, she brings it that way. Thats just one example. So, I have given up and asked for other waitresses. The decorations are goodie and over the top! But I love you place, food and people... you have friendly waitresses. Thank you for all the over the year's!

Staff is very friendly and quick to take your order and serve the food. I'll admit that I've only had breakfast here, but I've been coming here once or twice a month for the last four months and the food has always been good.

I had an excellent breakfast consisting of a Cajun omelette and hash browns nice and crispy. Biscuit and gravy. The restaurant was very clean. I received excellent service from my server. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody very reasonable and very good.

Not at all what I expected. Our first meal here was breakfast. A really scrumptious breakfast at that! Servings were plentiful, but most importantly the quality of the food served was excellent. We'll be going here again to try lunch and dinner.

Excellent food and service as usual at the Humble Joe's establishments. The place is clean and inviting. Try the "If Dad Made an Omelet". It's my favorite omelet in Redding and at least 2 meals, probably 4 for my mom.

I visited from Southern California, and I didn’t expect anything special. The wait was really long, but the food was delicious, and the waitress hustled to accommodate each customers’ preference. I’d like to recognize the waitress with a sense of urgency, who rushed from table to table with friendly and welcoming smile.

They are very welcoming. The service is excellent. I had the Italian omelette with Jojo potatoes. I can easily say it is one of the best omelets I have ever eaten, and the JoJo potatoes never disappoint. I would highly recommend a visit.

We always have good service we go more on week days and order off senior menu. Great breakfast! As well as à good price for it. Easy to get to lot's of room for trailers or equipment to park in parking lot.

This is a great diner. Driving from Oakland, cali to Willamette valley and made this my lunch stop in between. I was pleasantly surprised. Menu is voluminous and the burgers were great. I got to see some of the breakfast food coming out and thought it looked wonderful. The special also looked good. Seems like the hangout place for a lot of seniors so you know it has a lot of regulars.

Great place to eat, typically older crowd. Great food, never had a bad meal. Great service, the servers are friendly and prompt. Great selection, they run breakfast all day so you can order what you'd like. Original. Can't recommend enough over some of the other diners.

I can not praise the service enough! Food is excellent and the young staff is to die for. From day one we have been treated with the up most respect and they always remember what we love. Thank you for the great food and service. We always look forward to eating there.

My husband and I come here often. We always request Zach. He is attentive, extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and always has a smile on his face. The food is really good. They have a great variety of choices. We have never had a bad experience there. We will recommend Humble Joe's everytime!

Humble Joe's has moved to a new location. I was a HUGE fan of the old restaurant and there are many family memories at the old location. That being said, the new location still shares the same philosophy of customer service and serves great meals. You really can't go wrong here if you're looking for traditional American comfort food. Had a traditional chef's salad tonight and if THAT doesn't fill you up then your only hope is a buffet. Good food, decent prices, great friendly staff. I recommend this place

First time there, great food nice location, pretty crowded today for Father's Day but that was expected. But the staff did their best especially being understaffed and tried to keep a happy smile on their faces even though I'm sure they had to deal w some attitudes. Awesome food though and definitely will be back!!!

Food is always good. Fish and chips were amazing. The pieces of fish were huge, crisp and delicious. My husband got the French dip and loved it. Kids meals were good. There was a good selection and the kids all got something they liked. We've also tried the turkey dinner, the "bird" sandwich, shrimp scampi with linguine and several burgers. My husband got the chicken cordon bleu and didnt like it because it wasn't what he expected. Otherwise, we haven't been disappointed. We always get wonderful service too. Our party is always 6 or larger (last night there was 11 of us) and they are always super attentive and friendly. They make some of their own salad dressings. I've had the blue cheese and ranch and they were literally the best I've had.

There is only good to be said. Their food is great and reasonably priced. Their staff is fabulous.

Love this place, try to eat there at least once a week. Great Service, Great Food. I like to support them during these restrictive times. Miss getting beer with my meal, they had a wonderful selection but our authoritative gov took there alcohol license away. Anyway Yum, Yum!!!

Overall pretty good. Went early in the morning when there was only one waitress, but she was attentive and my coffee was kept warm. Food was standard. Everything was good, with the exception of the country potatoes, which were really well seasoned. Hash browns were crisp, but the gravy was pretty bland until I added pepper. While Google says this is a $ for price, I would say it's at minimum a $$ as you're going to spend closer to $20 a person if you get a full meal with drink. Overall, a nice local place to go.

As a company we do take out from here often and I, as an individual do dine in with my family and they are absolutely amazing. The food is consistent as well. The staff never changes so if you go in there tomorrow vs 6 months from now, you'll be greeted with the same smiling faces. 10/10

Their Oaxacan Pile Up has the best Chili Verde in town. The tomatillo cream sauce on top is bomb too.

Really great local restaurant. The prime rib was wonderful. Had such large sides took it home for a second meal. The service was hslpful and friendly. Will certainly go back.

Humble Joe's is usually good Quality of service can be iffy I recommend the ribs If you go on a Friday, they make a great clam chowder If you like salads, their house-made ranch dressing is the bomb

Service and seating was fast and friendly..food was so-so..it was good, not great but, not bad either. Prices were reasonable and the place was clean.

Maybe its because I got the special but for the price it was delicious the staff was super nice. I prefer a more meaty biscuits and gravy but theirs has good flavor.

Humble Joe's is a great place for breakfast or lunch. The breakfast menu is great and they make their own jam fresh for you request. They never mind changing the menu to suit me. I love the tostada salad for lunch and will bring fresh salsa in the side. Great staff and service. It's the little things, like warm syrup that keep us coming back. :)

One of my go-to places in town. Just wish they were open past 2pm.

Pretty decent food! Kind of expensive but big portions, expect leftovers. About 13-15 bucks for a burger not including a drink. But it was a massive burger with many many toppings. I would suggest this place for either breakfast or a burger.

It's a bit like your traditional American restaurant with tables or booths to choose from to be seated. Staff was very friendly from the moment you step through the door.

The fish & chips were good (off the senior menu) also my friend had the chicken tostadas & liked them. The staff was attentive & friendly. I go to them for my fish & chips

I know they can do better, because they have in the past. I ordered O'Brian potatoes and got hash browns and my scramble was cold. Please don't let this stop you from eating here, we will be back, but I post the good with the bad. The food tasted good and the hash browns were crispy. The biscuits and gravy were spot on, plenty of excellent gravy and all was very hot.

I really loved the place. The waitresses are nice and friendly, the meals are good (the ribs and New York steak are heavenly). Good background music and the interior is cozy decorated. Only negative thing: the glasses we got with our beers were dirty. Other than that, you can really eat a good meal. So I recommend it!

We enjoyed the breakfast specials advertised on facebook for $5.99. The food was good, service friendly and wait time acceptable. Our server did forget the toast and we got the wrong check thus the reason for 4 stars. She corrected the error and assured us it would have been caught when we paid at the register. Good place!

Stopped by here for some breakfast since I’m used to the Anderson location. The service here was phenomenal as expected. The food was a little different but still exceptional. I think the prices are a little high for both locations though. If you have time to visit this place you should. Great morning hours too.

Food was good, took a while to get all of the meals served. One was burned but they redid it before serving, so at least we didn't have to send it back. Server was nice and brought drink refills before we had to ask. Prices were about right for the serving size.

Nice friendly waitresses and good food. Have only been there once but will be going back soon.

Decent American grill food joint. 3 stars cuz they add 3% to your food bill for a service fee if you use your credit card.

The food is great, most of the time. The servers, I'd say about 50% of the time, are great. Of course in the food service industry you will have run ins with the servers having bad days. Usually it's a pretty clean place, but this last visit I was very unimpressed. The wait time however is always pretty long. This last visit it took 50 minutes (and yes, I counted) to receive my food.

Good food. Had to send my eggs back 3 times then they finally nuked my poached eggs. Yuk! Medium well should not be that difficult to accomplish but apparently it is! I had the sausage and eggs... taters which were nice. sausage was warm... The male server was sweet as could be but not attentive. Over all I would say a 3 I know they could do better. Granted the restaurant bizz is hard especially in Redding. Not much to pull from as far as employees.

The fish and chips were good but nothing to rave about. I would have given a 4 star if it weren't for the inattentive service. I was seated quickly but it went down hill from there. Barely saw my waitress after she bought my food. I didn't want conversation but at least check on me from time to time. I had to ask for more water when she brought me my check.

The food is ok. My father loves the biscuits and gravy as well as the chicken fried steak. The staff are also friendly and remember the customers who go their regularly. It's a great place for the "silent" generation.

Just left Humble Joe's on Hartnell. Usually have a wonderful experience there. The food was excellent as usual but both waitresses were not at their best. One was verbal about having to split a ticket from a large party and the other acted as if I was disturbing her. Not a happy experience!

The server thought she was a comedian. Hint: Don't make jokes about old people's disabilities. Don't ask how everything is, and then joke that that I can't say anything because my mouth is full, then walk away. I wanted to tell you that my egg was were ice cold. I couldn't get my servers attention, so I flagged down a different server. When I told her that my eggs were ice cold, she smiled and said "thank you " then waalked away. Hashbrowns, toast, and sausage were good. Service was bizarre at best.

The food is okay. The service is good, which is the only reason I gave 2 stars. I can't give it anymore because the owner is rude, unprofessional, and a conspiracy theorist who spreads false information and encourages the spread of covid. I can't give my hard earned money to someone who is so unhinged and out of touch with reality anymore.

I know we're getting over the pandemic and people aren't back to work but when you walk into a restaurant that only has one other customer you should not have to wait 30 minutes for your food never got a refill on my drink never got asked if I wanted a box for my leftovers. Hence why this Humble Joes closes at 2 in the afternoon very disappointed

The food here came out cold dont order the chicken fried steak, the gravy was gross. I had the sirloin tips with gravy and it wasnt very good staff is very friendly management diidnt really care when we told them about the food. Will not eat here again.

Not friendly like they normally are...my scramble was suppose to have ham and sausagehad maybe half strip of bacon crumbled and i found 2 little pieces of sausage...no sour cream either i feel a bit robbed

Disappointed! I don"t know what happened but not the same as last month and I got the EXACT same meal because it was so good. This time or was not. The potatie pancakes were hashbrowns in a circle eith a few green onions on top and my chicken fried steak was 2 hamburger patties put together, battered then fried. I doubt my family and I will return.

Decent food. But hardly anyone in the place and the waitress took our order and we didn't see her again for 30 minutes when she brought our food. Slow service. Not much in the way of "taking care of the customer". But it is clean and pleasant atmosphere.

My husband and I were seated at 8:30:A.M.yesterday. We had to wait to be seated at least 3/4 minutes while the cashier cleared maybe 10 different gentleman leaving. She finally called a waitress to seat us. I tell you this because the restaurant was nearly empty when the waitress finally returned to take our order. The waitress came by and refilled our coffee a couple times and told u our food would be up soon. Over 30 minutes later our food was served. We ordered directly from the menu. No changes, no substitution. Most of the food was warm. We were so full from weak,watered down coffee that both of us ate a couple of bites and decided we'd had enough. Pretty sure we won't be going back, there simply wasn't anything that would make us return.

Parking was easy. The restaurant had cute decorations. Zack was our waiter and was very personable but exceedingly SLOW! Not sure if it was his fault or the cooks. There was only one other table but it still took forever to get our food and it was not good. Not a good experience.

Food is always good here and the waitresses are efficient....BUT... the waitresses aren't personable most of the time!! When you try to ask for something, they will keep walking by and you're trying to get their attention. They act like they are being bothered . Our waitresses today said, "I was trying to take a break". It is not the customers fault the restaurant is busy or it is short staffed!! Be more patient, personable, warm hearted with your customers!!! Efficiency isn't ALL that makes you a "Great " waitress....personality is another also !!!

Use to love this place took my wife for breakfast for her birthday food has gone way down hill the woman's restroom had a sticky floor door was covered in dirt and a cockroach was in the sink we will never be returning there April 2024

Took over 35 min to get meal. 3 plates of eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon. 1 of those meals didnt have the hashbrowns wasn't ready. By the time her hashbrowns were ready her eggs were cold. Had to ask waitress for her toast and she asked what kind. They weren't overly busy at the time. We were looking for a restaurant we could go to after my parents appointments bbut this is definitely not it!

Fathers day busy I get it. Waited 15min. For our drinks after being seated. Just the beginning for that visit. Other visits in the past have been close to as bad. Always have gone back just thinking it will be better this time, they weren't. I am done.

My husband and I will never go back. For one you need to hire a different cleaning crew, your restaurant was very dirty the table had sticky stuff all over it and no they didn't offer to wipe it off. There was no silver ware and no they didn't bring us any we had to take them off another table then they got the order wrong.

We go to Humble Joe's every time we go to Redding CA. The food and service is always great. But this time it was terrible. When we got our food it was cold, the service was bad, and when they said they would bring us more coffee we never got it.

Just had lunch here with my mother and was thoroughly disappointed. I ordered a Patty Melt and lets just say it was the worst I've ever had. The burger was dry, the onions were diced and raw not carmelized. They used american cheese and not swiss. I will not be back. Too bad because the staff was friendly. Super bummer

Would give them zero stars if I could,very poor service,we were asked for our drink order when seated and 10 minutes later we got our drinks (mind you they weren't busy) then waited another 15 minutes before our order was taken and it was only 2 of us once we received our food almost 20 minutes later it wasn't hot maybe luke warm at this point we just wanted to eat and leave,our waitress Renee never once came back to ask how our food was or if we needed anything had to catch someone else to get refills we will definitely not be going back there

Very upsetting that I have to place a one star for a diner that serves such GREAT FOOD. But unfortunately, after the way we were treated I wouldn't recommend this place to a foe. My grandmother has lived in Redding since I was a small child so I'm very familiar with the area and types of people that live there. I've always loved that everyone seems so friendly and welcoming to outsiders passing through. This was not the case at Humble Joe's. My grandmother suggested we stop here on our way up to Shasta to go camping for Labor Day weekend. I had woken up at 2am Saturday morning to get everything packed and get headed up North. We arrived in town/at the restaurant around 8:45. Immediately upon arrival we see that the place is heavily favored by the elderly community because other than the waitresses, no one in the entire building was under the age of 70. (except us). Let me say that I had absolutely no problem with this. I hadn't really noticed anything until I went to order my food and when I looked up at the waitress, (who let me mention had about 8 hickeys on both sides of her neck) nearly every single person was staring at our table. I can only assume that they were just interested in the new faces at this point but it continued on through the whole meal. Myself and a friend of mine ordered Mimosas, (which were boldly advertised on the breakfast menu) and another person from our party ordered a Corona. (BIG DEAL WE ARE ON VACATION.) As we were served our drinks, we were also served dirty looks, cold stares, and snickering whispers. I didn't really care, until a gentleman decided to make a comment to his waitress, loud enough that the entire restaurant could hear. She asked him if he would like anything else and he yells, "YEAH YOU KNOW, MAYBE GET ME A BEER...EVEN BETTER A KEGGER!!" and slapped his knee as about 17 elderly men started busting up laughing. Extremely rude and uncalled for. I'm sorry, but I'm a paying customer and am entitled to order whatever the hell I want without feeling like a room full of people are going to run their mouths. Won't be returning and will make sure anyone that knows my grandmother knows the same.

Went in there with friends for breakfast and were the only ones in the whole place and still managed to get cold food. I ordered the strawberry French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon, the strawberries on too were a super sweet canned jelly that was gross. My bacon was cold hard and flavorless. I ordered a side of fries that ended up costing me the same amount as my whole French toast breakfast and on top of it our table was so dusty its like they were so used to it looking Like that they assumed it was clean. Needless to say we will not be going back there ever again.

Well the service was excellent, but the food I won't be eating there again. I wanted mashed potatoes and they were 6 dollars, fine I ordered them however when they came I got instant mashed potatoes that were still lumpy with gravy on top. I didn't complain I paid for them but they were the most disgusting thing I ever ordered 6 dollars for lumpy instant mashed potatoes.

After taking my order, My server never came back to check on me. I had to get up and go ask about my toast. The 2 servers carried on a personal conversation near the kitchen for the remainder of my visit. Worst service I've had anywhere in Redding.

Great wait staff. Extremely kind and welcoming but every time I eat there I have stomach problems for the rest of the day.

Great wait staff. Extremely kind and welcoming but every time I eat there I have stomach problems for the rest of the day.

After taking my order, My server never came back to check on me. I had to get up and go ask about my toast. The 2 servers carried on a personal conversation near the kitchen for the remainder of my visit. Worst service I've had anywhere in Redding.
