The escargot is definitely legit, I smiled with each bite. The French onion soup has just the right amount of guyrere and lots of onions. I was initially a bit suspect about the pork "filet mignon" but now I'm a believer, every bite melts in your mouth! And our server Jonathan was first rate all the way. We can't wait to go back.
Dine here today! True, delicious French cooking made available to all. The service was as good as at an Michelin star restaurant. Jonathan and the team did an impeccable job to ensure I felt like I was eating with family. Extremely relaxing for a business trip visitor. Dominique's is a local landmark for good reason. You will not be disappointed.
This got to be the best French restaurant in California. If you are looking for authentic French food cooked by a well experienced French chef, this is the place. The beef ribs are fantastic but as a matter of act every other item on the menu is delicious.
At the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Dominique’s wife, co-owner. So welcoming she was, I requested the bar area being solo. Immediately I was greeted by Jonathan, who shared that he would be serving me this evening, and he, from the start to my leaving, was one of the most gracious and gentleman-like waiter/bartender/servers I have ever met. I enjoyed sparkling water, Pellegrino – my favorite - and a new Argentina Malbec, which is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. I ordered, after Jonathan gave me a detailed description of the special appetizers and special entrées, their special Burrata cheese appetizer and chicken liver pate (see photos). As both portions were quite large, I took the remainders to go, and really look forward to returning again soon. Jonathan‘s service was spectacular and what a phenomenal, relaxing, perfect solo evening, listening to upbeat, international music in the background. Strongly recommend!
The beef was amazing, our waitress lovely, Donita, and thay treated us with a desert for our wedding anniversary
A special birthday dinner and the absolute best meal we have enjoyed at a restaurant in a very long time. The homemade soups , French onion and special mushroom soup were wonderful and flavorful. The New York steaks with the peppercorn sauce were cooked perfectly, medium rare. Garlic fries, hot, fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing and the service impeccable. We highly recommend Dominique’s Kitchen.
A really wonderful dining experience. We went for dinner, and truly enjoyed our meal from start to finish. The food was really rich, and the entree prone were generous, so we ordered two appetizers and split one entree. We were stuffed, and had some to take home. Of course, that did not stop us from ordering the mousse for dessert. It was delicious. The space is cozy, and the service is friendly. They recommend reservations, but we were able to walk in and grab a small table by the bar that suited us just fine. The parking lot is quite small, so be prepared to park on the street and walk back to the restaurant. Check this place out; you will not regret it!
Celebrated some birthdays at Dominique's and had a great time. Soup of the day was an excellent lobster bisque, escargot was quite tasty with the garlic butter sauce, and great selection of entrees. I ordered the beef bourguignon which was pretty rich and heavy but large portions so you will have leftovers to take home. We paired everything with a 2016 Gigondas from Rhone. Good amount of body and fruity notes to pair with the thick sauce of the beef bourguignon. Big thank you to our server Jonathan who made the experience fun and memorable.
I love dining out but only a few restaurants have inspired me to post a review - this was one of them. Having grown up thinking French food was formal and fussy, it is not usually my first choice in dining options. Dominique's Kitchen has changed my perception. This small, intimate restaurant with friendly and competent service turned out to be a gem! Food was presented nicely and the taste was as good as it looks. I had the beef bourguignon and my husband had the pan seared sole. The beef bourguignon and mashed potatoes was rich and deeply satisfying. Dessert was Belgium dark chocolate mousse and French Basque cheesecake (mousse is my favorite!). Good French food without fussiness!
I ordered several items and here is my review: Baguette: Absolutely awesome—no arguments needed. Onion Soup: Delicious, especially when paired with the baguette, but it was a bit too salty for my taste. Escargot: The sauce was simply amazing. Butter Cheese Pasta: The noodle was gnocchetti (a great, simple style). The flavor was simple but rich—you might want a side of pickles to cut through it. Chicken: A little salty, but it was really good when eaten with the side baked potato. Overall, every dish tasted like it was perfectly made to go with red wine. You'll definitely want to win the rock-paper-scissors game for the shotgun seat so you can enjoy a glass! Also, the server was incredibly nice—truly "out of league" excellent.
Very cozy restaurant. Our group of 7 was placed in a quiet corner of the restaurant which felt like our own private room. Food is very good and very reasonably priced. Service was excellent.
A really quaint and delicious French restaurant in Redondo Beach. I stopped in for my first time this past weekend and was really impressed with my dinner. The food quality was great and the menu had a ton of great options on it. They do have a small parking lot attached otherwise it will be street parking. Our waiter was also very polite and it was very lively during our 7 PM dinner visit. The portion sizes are very large here so factor that in to your choices. I would classify this more as a French bistro in that it is casual and has a lot of great French comfort food options. We started off with a Country Pâté and thought it was great. It was very smooth and the bread with it really added to the flavor combination. Next, we shared the Beet Salad, which was gigantic, but had some really nice flavors. It was full of beets and feta so I wasn’t complaining, but it could be split between four people it’s that large. Finally for my entree I chose the Pan Seared Sole and thought it was fantastic. The butter sauce on top was extremely sweet but in a good way. I also liked the black rice on the side to soak up the sauce and I ate every bit of it. We wanted to order dessert but by the end of the meal we were both pretty full. I would recommend to anyone in the area or to anyone searching for a great French dinner option.
Lovely family owned French restaurant I've been going to for over 10 years! Amazing food, service and atmosphere! The food is always delicious, from starters such as their baked brie to second course lobster bisque and Caesar salad to main entrees such as their lamb shanks, lobster & shrimp ravioli and dover sole. Their desserts satisfy a sweet tooth with options from basque cheesecake to raspberry & cream rice pudding. Always leave happy.
I love hidden gems like this one! The food is spectacular, just the smell when you walk in, we ordered sooooo much and loved every bite. The service and atmosphere are great; it's a small place but when you walk in it feels homey. We loved the escargot, lobster ravioli, fish special of the day, french onion soup and garlic fries. Their wine selection is amazing, we were recommended a great red wine to pair with our dinner.

We haven't been for several years because we moved out of walking distance, but it's as fabulous as ever. Having a restaurant like this locally is a treasure.
This is a fun little French restaurant. The service is really good and so is the food. I usually get the beef bourguignon.
We recently visited for dinner and it had been a while because we moved away. This place is so special and I really love the owners. The food is always spot on, and I had such a great wedge salad there. The portions are huge and the service is warm. I hope this place stays forever.
Hands down the best restaurant in the South Bay and a hidden gem. Their onion soup and New York steak are the best I've ever had. Could rival a NYC restaurant. Every other restaurant pales in comparison in the South Bay.
We had a lovely evening out at Dominique's. The Ouef Coccete was incredible and the Beef bourguignon was so tender and flavorful. The service was top rate and the wine he suggested was a favorite. We had a great time out and will be back to try again. The value for your money is so good as well. Highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere, laid back but elegant. The bread and steak were very good. The peppercorn sauce delicious. The potatoes were a little bit less than they needed to be, let down the steak and sauce some. Overall, would still have it again. We finished with the Basque cheesecake, the berry sauce was lovely, the whole thing was visually appealing, but the cheesecake was not. It was overcooked, wayyyyy too dense and dry. I mentioned to the owner who proceeded to gaslight me telling me that s how it s supposed to be. I ve been to the Basque region, they would not claim this as theirs. Chef needs to revist it a little to get the texture and cooking time right. Maybe ours was off, I dont know but did not appreciate being the reply from the owner (i assume she was the owner as she was casually dressed while everyone else in uniform). Luckily, the waiter did remove it from our check.
Friends in South Bay discovered this gem during Covid through Dominiques takeout menu. They have been raving about the Beouf Bourguignon and I finally made it in house! It's a cozy atmosphered neighborhood spot. Decent non-exorbitant wine selection and large portioned dishes! It was perfect for a dinner with friends who like to eat family style and share. And we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. I enjoyed the escargot and the sardines spread. Snagged the last lobster & crab agnolotti and with gracious friends had bites of the sole and beouf bourginon which was good. It felt like having amazing food at your French grandma/aunties/parents' house. French fine dining for me has plateaued so having this type of family kitchen and bistro cuisine, especially French, was amazing. Good quality ingredients, refined basics through experience and just hearty cooking. The service was friendly and nice. I think they had one server for the whole place (its small and cozy) but can be overbearing. It's just that type of vibe where you just go with it. It is was a fine dining pre fixed paring type of place, may have been annoyed. But we just enjoyed the hearty warm atmosphere and the bottles of Sancerre Rouge helped us in a gracious and laughing mood.

A rather plain restaurant with fantastic food. I've been to Paris many times and the food I had there was never better than at Dominique's Kitchen. I look forward to our next visit. The roasted chicken with olive oil, Provence herbs and sea salt was the best chicken entree I can remember ever having. My wife had the lamb chops and enjoyed her entire meal. Two other people at our table have different entrees and had the same positive reaction to their entrees. Be prepared to take part of your meal home and the servings are generous.
