Had family visiting from out of state and stopped here spontaneously. Our experience was amazing! We went during their lunch special and tried a variety of items off of the menu. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the servers were attentive. It’s more of a traditional Chinese layout and we enjoyed the experience.
Food ❤️ Chinese but the way Americans would love, will add photos next time I visit, . their Shrimp on sticks and Egg plant dish were mouthcharms..
The aunties are so nice, food is great. Our favorite Szechuan spot in Dallas.
Good food and atmosphere. Generous portions and very reasonable prices.
The food was delicious! I definitely recommend the Shrimp in Garlic Sauce and the Vegetable Steamed Dumplings.
Absolutely loved their food !! It was one of the tastiest meals I've had. The spicy chicken and the sliced fish in rattan pepper were superb. Would certainly recommend this place for a great meal.
We went to china a few years before and finally found a place that feels like the sezuanese cuisine we at there.
I am a native Sichuanese, the food here reminds me of home!! I love the chicken pot 鸡公煲, it goes really well with the crispy bread 手抓饼. Cold noodle and sizzling iron plate beef is the must-eat. For sweet, we all love the jello 冰粉😋. I didn't have this kind if authentic Sichuan cuisine for ages..
Food was incredible. The way they handle spice is truly incredible. Plates adorned with mounds of chilies and yet it doesn't overwhelm the palate. The most flavorful popcorn chicken and fried fish I've ever had in my life. And the fiery sauce with beef and cabbage is to die for. Highly recommend this place if you love spicy food done artfully!
Love this place! Go at lease once a month most the time twice. Everything is family serving size. The staff her is so nice.
Super great service and speedy preparation. The portions are usually big enough that we always have leftovers. It's BYOB. Would love to come here more often. Would recommend the spicy boiled fish.
Royal Sichuan is the best and most authentic Chinese food I've had in Dallas. They have the best Mapo tofu I've ever had, I get it extra spicy with ground pork, it's SO good it's unreal, you have to try it! The service is super fast and the employees are kind, I love how the music isn't too loud as well.
Great authentic Sichuan cuisine. The service is friendly and fast. The cold cut/appetizers are great and must have. We love the beef and tripe. The smoked head cheese is good and unique if you like head cheese. The hand pulled shaved dry noodles are savory garlicky and delicious. The jello with spicy sauce is unique.
Foodies: Don’t get discouraged by the General Chao’s chicken on some tables - The house made smoked pork belly 腊肉 is legit. Disputed its looks, it’s not greasy. Put that on white rice and you’re all set. Beef stew has a very rich fermented soy flavor without the added sweetness you might find in other places to over stimulate the taste buds. Finally, the knife cut noodles 刀削面 was, according to the staff, really cut from a big ball of dough into boiling water - the authentic way! The noodles has the right level of chewiness and a wonderful fresh taste to it. I’m a big fan.
Great find! Royal Sichuan’s menu has a little bit of everything for everyone’s taste…mild or spicy. There was only three of us, but we managed to fill the tabletop with tasty dishes. We had soup, an appetizer, green bean side, and four main courses. Needless-to-say we had lots of leftovers for dinner tonight.
My favorite dishes here are the fried chicken in chili, cumin lamb, Sichuan green beans (so crunchy and deliciously garlicky), and cong xin cai (water spinach, I think). I also like their fish in “fire sauce”— which is great for sharing. (Their portions in general are suited for sharing!) The service was quick and water was frequently filled. Highlight—Green beans so good I crave them specifically.
absolutely delicious!! I am spice challenged and they accommodated a request for a little less spicy Mapu Tofu and Cumin lamb. Some of the best food I’ve eaten period. Went with a friend who grew up eating these dishes made by his mom from Sichuan who said it was really good and authentic
I got the eggplant in garlic sauce, hot and sour soup, and the pork gravy buns! Food is very delicious and the service was friendly. The atmosphere feels very warm and family friendly. Thanks again for the delicious food!
Tasty and delicious. We got lots of stuff from the combined pot.water lily root, bamboo shoots, black fugu, beef, shrimp. Very cool. The chao shou also good. Not too salty. You can feel the sweet from the food itself. Very nice place and service.

Best Asian food I’ve ever had. Loved the spicy sauces!
Delicious traditional Chinese food! I love going out for Dim Sum and this is very much like that, unlike the Americanized versions out there they focus on more savory flavors

I'd been looking for a great chinese food place every since my favorite place closed after 40 years of excellence. Royal Sichuan exceeded my expectations! Everything I've ordered tastes amazing! The food is high quality, fresh, prepared perfectly and quick too! I love the chicken with vegetables, it has a delicate/savory sauce, the chicken is so tender and the dish is filled with with all kinds of delightfully fresh vegetables! Their sesame chicken is crispy with a sweet/savory sauce and the steamed rice is cooked to perfection. Their eggrolls are nice and crispy with a wonderful sauce too. This is best quality chinese food for the right price in the area! The atmosphere is good and the staff is friendly. I go here on my lunch hour because the food comes out quick so I have time to enjoy it and I always have leftovers! I highly recommend checking this place out if you haven't already!
Went there for lunch today, had the twice cooked pork. It was fried pork belly with bell pepper and scallions. It was very good. The server was very attentive and the lunch special was offered at a fair price.

August 2024 We haven’t visit this location for a long time. We were pleased that lunch menu was still available. We ordered the KP chicken and twice cooked pork. The dishes were flavorful and delicious. The only unfortunate side as their elderly wait staff. They tried their best to be attentive and quick. Not much of a lunch rush. We were concerned since we were not greeted quickly when we first arrived. However, they compensated with their delicious food. Do support small business. My rating 5 is very satisfied Taste 5/5 Temperature 4/5 Attentiveness 4/5 Speed of service 3/5 Cleanliness 3/5 kind of dark and the seating were tired. We understand the difficulties of operating a thriving business. Will we return? Yes. Still good food Will we recommend? Yes, if one can overlook the old fixture and elderly wait staffs.
I really like the authentic Sichuan food that is hard to find.
Good foods tried egg rolls orange chicken lomein and fried rice. Orange chicken had great flavor good chicken quality not a lot of breading like other places. Lomein and rice were good not the greatest/best but good! Good and quick service. Good atmosphere. Only small thing was walls were a bit dirty so weird to look at when eating . Other than that great place for quick good meal
This is a truly authentic Chinese food experience and easily one of the best restaurants in Richardson’s Chinatown. The restaurant never disappoints—food quality and portion sizes have remained consistent over the years, and prices are still very reasonable. The traditional Chinese décor inside enhances the authenticity and makes the dining experience even more enjoyable
I ordered homestyle tofu. Clicked this picture after I started having my lunch. The food tasted good, no artificial sauces, just home style. I was wanting to order other items in the menu, they grabbed the menu after serving food, did not have a chance to think about what to order next. No one stopped by after serving food to see if I need anything else. Steamed rice does not come with the entree and I had to pay $1 for the rice and the portion size was ridiculous especially when you pay money. They were very stingy, they keep just one paper napkin per person. The restroom did not smell good. The place was bit decent. They need to take care of the odor. The waiters were busy unstringing beans rather than paying attention to the customers. The menu should have more descriptions like ingredients and pictures of the items. Honestly the food is good, I wanted to order more items but disappointed that no one came after serving food. They assume that I am going to eat just one item.
My Chinese friend said it was very authentic. The food was hot being it is Szechuanese and it was well balanced of deliciousness. Service was quick. They do not serve beer or liquor so we did BYOD. I would say the restaurant could use an upgrade on the restroom, furniture, and decor. The food was so good that we will be back.
I loved the sliced noodle with beef. The noodles were chewy and soaked with the flavor really well. Tea smoked duck was delicious too. Service was good. Price has gotten pricier due to inflation.
Food was good and brought out fast and fresh. Service was great! I had Hunan Chicken and sampled some other items. They were fairly busy on a Saturday night. It's also BYOB. Like supporting small local businesses.

Royal Sichuan is located in Richardson’s Chinatown, which is super convenient if you're in the area. The food is okay — some dishes are better than others, but nothing really stands out. Unfortunately, the service here leaves a lot to be desired. It’s extremely slow, and the staff feels unorganized and unprofessional. Be prepared to wait quite a while for both ordering and getting your food, even when it’s not busy.
It has been a really long time since we’ve eaten at this restaurant and decided to have a dinner here in winter solstice. The food is decent as always, just up priced a lot. A lamb would cost you $18, appetizer would run you about $10, poultry would run you about $15, etc. the cumin lamb was alright, but very salty and starchy, the vegetable was nice, and the hot boiled fish is decent—just greasy. What I did not appreciate is that the waitress did not speak the truths about how much the bowls of rice are. She said it is $1/bowl and then free refill. This is not true—we had 4 bowls of rice and they charged us $4 for the rice. This is the main reason why a 5 star review isn’t given.
The food is decent, although some of the chicken was so chewy I had to spit it into a napkin- twice. The lunch specials are huge and you get a lot for your money. Other than chicken quality, the restaurant needs to be cleaned and updated. The soup spoon was dirty, the forks had large water spots, and the walls and booths could use a good cleaning. Some are pretty torn up as well. I will likely not go back, but it was an ok lunch experience.
I planned to visit Sichuan King, but figured out they are the same restaurant. The surface of the table is not clean, but oily. Food is moderate, and nothing special. The fried rice is too wet, but my favorite for this visit is cumin lamb.

I ordered smoked tea duck. This is what I received. I've ordered from hear 5 times and I've never been given such skimpy portions, more bones and fat than meat. The meat on the legs were missing, I'm assuming it was put into someone else's wonton duck soup. I'm very disappointed and won't be ordering from here again.
Really really really bad experience the lady who served me was very rude. when my order was ready (to go) I was sitting at a table about a meter away from the register where she was standing, apparently she called me three times and I didn't hear her I was on my cell phone. Suddenly I only heard her voice next to my ear yelling at me "your order is ready" scared I told her she didn't have to yell in my ear and she replied "you don't hear" I said and why instead of bringing me my order you come and yell in my ear. I left the restaurant and on the way to my car my daughter asked for food I went back to order and the lady refused to sell to me. What horrible service from that lady besides yelling at me she refused to sell me more food. I asked to speak to the manager and she refused. (She told me that I had already ordered and that I could no longer order )I tried to justify it by having a lot of customers but only two tables were occupied. I am not a person who gives bad reviews but I feel very offended. She yelled at me several times and refused to let me buy more food to go.
We've been at this restaurant for years and enjoying the food. However, the fish in the soup last night was spoiled, and the beans never showed up till we left :(
