It was our first time dining here, and Nessa, our waitress she was amazing. She stayed on top of everything and checked in with us often to make sure we were good. The food came out pretty quickly and tasted great. She made the whole experience really enjoyable!

I absolutely love this Mexican restaurant! The food is always fresh, hot, and prepared exactly the way you request. The staff is consistently friendly, and our server, Desiree, made the experience especially enjoyable with her great service. The portions are filling, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is welcoming. They also have great kids’ menu options. Highly recommend and don’t forget to tip your waitress!

I went to Red River Cantina in Richmond for lunch earlier today, and once again it reminded me why it’s one of my favorite restaurants. The food was excellent as always—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Everything came out quickly and tasted amazing, making it a perfect lunch spot. I also want to give a special shoutout to my server, Jesus. He was really great—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. His service was spot-on without being overbearing, and he genuinely made us feel welcome. Between the consistently great food, relaxed lunch vibe, and standout service, Red River Cantina never disappoints. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Richmond.

We had dinner at Red River Cantina Tex-Mex and Calvin made the whole experience outstanding. His service was the best I’ve had in a restaurant in a long time. He paid attention without hovering, kept everything moving at the right pace, and treated us like he genuinely cared that we enjoyed our meal. A few things stood out: • He anticipated what we needed before we asked. • He kept a full section running smoothly and still made time to check in with us. • He offered helpful suggestions without being pushy. • He made the whole meal feel relaxed and welcoming. The food was great, but Calvin is the reason we will be back. Red River Tex-Mex is lucky to have someone who brings that level of care and professionalism to the table. If you go, ask for him.

This is our Tex-mex spot for sure. It’s always great food , atmosphere, margaritas, and service. Adrian was AWESOME today. Very attentive, and great personality. I hope we get him next time we go ☺️

This is by far my most favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in the Richmond area. The fajitas are to die for, and the rest of the menu is not bad at all. I am a big fan of the top shelf margaritas. Love the atmosphere and service we receive. I've never had a complaint. This is an awesome place to meet up for after work drinks and some appetizers to catch up with each other and have a few laughs. Highly recommend.

Service was personable, lacking on attentiveness. Zero management presence. Main entrees were served mostly right had to ask and wait for my server to come check on the food almost 5 minutes after it was delivered to ask about the other two entrees we were missing and get the small errors on the delivered food corrected. All in all the flavor of the food is the only real positive. Updating to reflect quick and accountable response from the Owner and GM. Mistakes happen, acknowledgement and offering to fix it is the only way forward and this team gets that.

The experience was great. Our server Darrion was really nice and so helpful. He smiled and chatted with us making the experience absolutely wonderful! We eat out a lot and the servers always seem to just focus on the job. But Darrion made small talk with all of his tables and was even kind to one of the fussy kids at another table. The ambience was very welcoming, the food was good and the drinks were really good! We will absolutely be back!

First time here and upon walking in it was warming atmosphere clean and the greeter was very welcoming. Getting seated was good but the server was kinda nonchalant. We received chips and they were fresh and the salsa was as well. We ordered our food and it was fresh and hot! Everything was good and we enjoyed someone birthday which was a great setting to enjoy. The price for the food was great as well and affordable. We definitely will return again.

The service was good. We did have to wait quite a few minutes for the host to help us but once she did, she seated us right away. The appetizer sampler was really good but other than that the rest of the food didn't really have flavor. I would be back again though to try something different.

Me and my mom went to eat out and picked this place, the place itself is beautiful and everyone was so nice. Our server Dani was super sweet and kind, always checking up on us. Howevee the food wasn't really that good. My mom got a half-pound of chicken fajitas and the refried beans tasted sour, the rice was dry and flavorless, the chicken was flavoring was more American flavorig over Mexican flavoring and also too buttery. I had gotten a kind of Tortilla soup, I cannot remember the name lol😭. The soup itself was a little bland but other than that the soup was really filling and nice. I had also gotten a thres leches cake and it was really good but the whipped cream tasted kinda sour.

* Warning for allergen sufferers * I’ve celiac disease (strict no gluten-medical condition) attended mid family holiday, ordered gluten free taco dinner from the gluten free menu, also had gluten free nachos. Whilst the food tasted nice upon eating, it did not however, taste as good for the following 13hrs coming back up, nor the subsequent 24hrs of special ladies room attendance or the following week+ of joint inflammation and pain having been gluttoned at the restaurant. Restaurant was contacted after the incident and it was identified that I’d likely been given gluten containing cheese on/within the meal however upon trying to contact the manager several times and one response from them stating they were off on the day of the email and would respond we are still waiting…... They clearly do not take allergen issues seriously which they very clearly are. Not just with my celiac issue, but other allergen issues people have. I have never, ever suffered to that extent since celiac diagnosis 10+yrs ago, of being gluttoned and never wish to experience it again. Review is to caution those with allergens and take heed this restaurant does not have best intentions regarding these.

I hate to leave bad reviews, but here is my experience. Just moved into the Richmond area and me and the wife tried out Red River Cantina for the 1st and last time. Right from the start the young girl w/blonde/black hair seemed like she hated life and her job. (Very bad impression -lacking friendliness) Ok, let’s move on, we’re there for the food. I ordered the fajita tacos on flour. Not only was it horrible and cold,, they cheap you on portions. (See pics) not expecting 1/2lb of meat for a taco, but let me least make a decent taco!! My wife had the a taco and tostada. Same thing, horrible. I wanted to send it back, but the server came around every 7-10 minutes. For 50$+ bucks, it’s got to be better! Our food was equivalent to taco cabana, except less meat and we paid triple! The current reviews has to be fake, this place has bad food! My thoughts on ppl coming is that there is no other Mex food in this area. The plus, the ambience is a+! Decor was very Tex-med tradition.
