This is my fast reviews for the Sichuan Fusion. Fast time come here I was very happy with Their service. Get the pickled mustard green fish fillet noodle soup. Noodles were pretty average, Great time was there and I was happy with their food test.

We always come here when we are in town. The food is almost always fast and tasty. Not all items on the menu are spicy hot. They will tone it down if you ask.

One thing that many customers may not know (and that's a hidden gem) is that they also sell uncooked handmade dumplings or other pastries. These may no be available every week, but you can see their employees wrapping dumplings and wonton which come in bags of 20-25. Believe me that they taste much better than the frozen ones you find in supermarkets!

Came here multiple times and have enjoyed it each time. Great spicy Sichuan style food and their regular non-spicy menu options are also solid.

Went for New Years. Go with the fish dishes, very very tasty. Ambience is interesting because it's inside a mall but most of the other stores are closed after 7 or so. Then there's a few super busy restaurants still open. Pretty neat

I was with a Chinese Woman who spoke to the waitress in Chinese, and ordered a spicy whole fish, and perhaps less spicy for me, i thought it was pretty good, i got some spinach to go with it, it was not cheap but it was good. Visiting friends in the Bay area. We generally eat out at our regular haunts and this is one of our go to places for Chinese food. Wide variety of authentic regional dishes in addition to the generic fried rice offerings. This time, we especially enjoyed the eggplant in garlic sauce and the dry fried green beans. You have to start with these. Always busy, which is a good sign. Prices are in the mid range and the service is good for a Chinese restaurant.

Addictively flavorful food here with great Sichuan flavors. Get the water-boiled fish and the sliced beef appetizer.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Sichuan restaurant, and it was an absolute flavor explosion! If you like bold, spicy, and mouthwatering dishes, this place is a must-visit. All the dishes we ordered were prepared amazing and had amazing flavor. All dishes took us back to traditional chinese cuisine and it was a sense of comfort. However, what really stood out to us was the freshness of the ingredients. You can taste the quality in every bite, from the vegetables in the stir-fries to the tender meat in the dishes. The service was great and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu. They were willing to provide recommendations based on your spice tolerance. The moment I walked in, the ambiance was great. It was filled with traditional Chinese decor and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The staff understands great hospitality and they greet customers with smiles and take the time to address your needs. They go above and beyond to ensure you have a fantastic experience. I can't wait to return and try more of their dishes!

First thing I noticed when I walked in was the traditional Chinese decor that made this place look authentic. The staff is super friendly and was helpful with guiding us through the menu. They had a lot of variety to choose from (seafood, proteins, vegetables, spicy or non spicy). The quality is amazing, everything is fresh and well seasoned. The portion size for all the dishes were generous and at a fair price point!! This restaurant provides high quality food at a fair price point while being the most authentic Sichuan food in the states!! Definitely will come back and recommend to anyone looking for an amazing chinese restaurant!

Ok, I ordered to go but it was freaking delicious. I don't know what possessed me to order the Salted Pumpkin with Egg Yolk. I hate pumpkin, but I just instinctively knew that if I got it from this place I'd love it. I was right. The salt balanced out the sweetness of the pumpkin perfectly. The pumpkin was light and fluffy as was the crisp and crunchy batter. Very large portion. I also got the scallion pancakes which I was craving. Very good as well. Almost a meaty texture. Looking forward to trying more.

Absolute hidden gem. Everything is phenomenal and perfectly cooked. The spicy beef noodle soup is a hit and the spiciest chicken dish with two chilis (to show how spicy it is) is outstanding - - numbs your tongue!! In a good way 😂. Mapo tofu is the highest quality tofu you'll find. Will be back.

One of the better chinese eateries in the bay area with reasonable prices too. The dishes are flavorful dishes, especially the pickled pepper fish, szechuan spicy fish, and pickled string beans with pork, the stir fry battered fish, and the chonqing pepper chicken. My parents think it tastes authentic so that’s all I need to know. The aforementioned dishes are *spicy*, so specify mild if you have a low tolerance

You may take my review with a grain of salt due to my whitey last name, but my wife is born and raised in Beijing so she requires real Chinese food not garbage sugary fake stuff. This place is as good as it gets in the Bay Area. We don’t go to SF for Chinese food anymore, we just go to this place in Richmond. We have both extensively traveled Sichuan and this is pretty close to the same thing. Very good.

We came here twice when we came to shop at the ranch 99 a week ago. First we had just two people I ordered Beef noodle soup and 宫保鸡丁 the food was great I mean it was in someways just like back in Sichuan. The price was fair and the waitress were also friendly.

High quality Sichuan fusion, served without the starch, sugar and watery sauces that often besmirch this great regional cuisine style. The fish served in dry hot pot is excellent! I highly recommend this place for lovers of real chinese.

T

We tried the house special chicken, and that was disappointing at several levels. I enjoy spice. Leaving whole Szechuan peppercorns in the dish may be authentic, but when you bite into one it is not the most pleasant experience. The dish uses dark meat chicken, which I prefer to white meat, but they basically hack up drumsticks, thighs and perhaps wings.

M

Still continues to be one of my favorite places to eat. The prices have risen it is true but it is still remains true sichuan styled food. The spice level and flavor is still spot on. Try the beef noodles here it is very good.

This is one of our favourite restaurants for a quick delicious take out and the packaging here is the best! They put anything that may spill in its own bag so even if it does spill it doesn’t mess with any of the other order! The staff is lovely and super thoughtful and of course the food is just fantastic!

This place is easily a hidden gem of the east bay. The maple spare ribs, fried fish in hot pot, and cheng-du style chicken are crazy good. I recommend these dishes to everyone. Especially if you love that mouth-numbing sensation!

Sichuan Fusion is a neighbourhood staple! I’ve been coming here regularly for dine-in and takeout since 2017 and will continue to eat here so long as I live in the Bay Area. It’s one of my favourite restaurants in the East Bay. Every dish I’ve had here has been amazing. My must-trys are the baby lotus root with beef, Sichuan fish filet with pickled mustard soup, Chongqing chili chicken (need to get it with bone!), garlic eggplant, and Uyghur style sautéed lamb. But seriously, everything is fantastic.

Located inside the complex, past the 99 Ranch market in the back. We love this restaurant and often order delivery or eat in. I realized I didn't review it for years so now is a good time. They have great value for the size and quality of dishes. We usually order Kung Pao chicken, schezuan fish soup (spicy), boiled beef (spicy), and garlic eggplant. These are our favorites however the Dan Dan noodles were good and huge - a much better price than the new soup restaurant next door. The fried rice and xiao long bao are decent. The pork dishes and fried chicken are also good. Free tea if you eat inside. We haven't had a dish we didn't like and overall enjoy every dish. Service is quick and fine. Most dishes are around $15-20 and do not include rice. The portions are very large. I recommend going with a group to try many things. It is spicy too- the icons on the menu are accurate! Some numbing for certain dishes.

Super fun lunch with a friend who introduced me to this restaurant in the Ranch 99 complex. We shared the salt and pepper tofu, Sichuan style twice cooked pork bacon, spicy garlic eggplant, crispy noodle chicken and pan fried chive turnover. Everything was super fresh and steaming hot. The tofu fried to perfection and soft & silky inside. We agreed to try item we had never had before and the twice cooked pork bacon and crispy noodle chicken were two of those items. The pork was very flavorful with the perfect heat level, and the crispy noodles under the layer of delicious chicken, mushrooms and fresh Vegis lent the perfect texture. The chive turnover was a fun dish. Our server, and everyone at the was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. Two things to know, parking can be a challenge as it is a busy area (there are multiple restaurants and shops in the complex, plus Ranch 99) and if you pay in cash, you get a free mini ice cream.

We order a spicy braised whole fish, on the topping there are big shrimps, clams, calamari, wood ear and ton of veggies! Great value! We also ordered Dan Dan noodle, the portions are generous as well. Plus there’s fresh soy milk is super authentic. I would definitely comeback to this place!

If you want to know what great food tastes like, look no further. I’ve been coming here for the past 5+ yrs and they never disappoint. The food may be oily, but the flavors are unmatched. I HIGHLY recommend the uygur beef, shredded pork with fresh chili, chongqing style chili chicken, spicy beef combo, and salt and pepper tofu!!! I hope this helps :)

One of our favorite places. Everything we've had here has been great. It's spicy, but not too spicy. What gets you is the sichuan peppercorns. If you steer clear of those, your tongue won't be numbed and can taste the rest of your food. Try the cold cut appetizer, the fried fish with the mushrooms, the string beans, the fried chicken, the beef in the soup.

Great food and reasonable service. Even though the food *seems* relatively expensive, they are not stingy with their portions at all, so it's worth it. I think that it could be slightly spicier, but my spice tolerance is high enough as it is, so it's probably just my own preference. Still, the food is very flavorful and tasty.

Food and atmosphere are both authentic. If you want real spicy sichuan food, come here! Service is ok but better than some other restaurants I have been to. Overall it was a great meal, though it was a little hit or miss. The chowmein hand made noodles was phenomenal. And the spicy fish clay pot was very good. On the other hand the spice chile beef was so oily that it wasn't that good. They prefer cash payments, though they will accept cards.

I didn't expect to like this as much since I'm a little sensitive when it comes to spicy food, but I liked it! Good: - Really solid garlic glass noodles with shrimp - not spicy, but great flavoring and tasty noodles with just enough sauce! - The soy milk they give out here is really good if you need something to cool the spiciness away - The spicy noodles are tasty - chewy noodles - The sour and spicy fish soup was really good as well - so soft and tender - The boiled spinach was good in comparison to all of the spicy dishes - Lotus root and beef was tasty but spicy - the beef was so tender Bad: - Takes some time for the food to come out - The place is super casual ambiance wise, you have to be used to Chinese restaurants and speaking Chinese to have the best experience Overall would come again, good authentic Chinese food.

I love Chinese food, and know we'll enough that Mongolian beef is soicy. We told the waitress we wanted not spicy. She said "that plate isn't spicy". She brought the food out, and it had big pieces of red chilli peppers everywhere. She didn't want to change it. We didn't eat it all (we couldn't it was so spicy) but paid and left. NEVER coming back.

To begin with, DON'T PAY CASH. If your card pays you, like ours, 3% of your bill in rewards, the truth is their pay cash, get ice cream (that turns out to be a very small baby size cone), is not worth it. It also can encourage management to underreport revenues and tips for servers. So pass on that offer. Green Beans: good. Sort of a popcornish chicken dish: good Spicy House Noodle Soup: good Mu Shu Pork: Fair- too few crepes, too little plum sauce (and not good quality), needs more pork Combination Fried Rice: fair...most have shrimp along with chicken and more veggies. Overall, it was ok, but the free ice cream scam is disappointing.

Came here many years ago to have lunch on a whim but totally forgot about it until today when I wanted to try a different Chinese restaurant. I decided to order some food from Sichuan Fusion since I haven't gone back there in years but I've anyways passed by it when I'm over at the mall for other things. We were feeling lazy and it was raining like crazy outside and didn't feel like going out so we odered for delivery. We ordered chicken fried rice, vegetarian hot sour soup, spicy Tan Tan mien noodles, and what looked like a combination stir fried hand made noodle dish that we got by mistake which was supposed to be the Beef Chow Fun. The chicken fried rice was pretty good. It was light in oil, seasoned well, and had a decent light wok flavor. The vegetarian hot sour soup was nice and hot when we got it and it was full of ingredients that I couldn't even name. The soup stock was flavorful but a bit heavy on the vinegar. I still enjoyed it alot. The Tan Tan noodle was a bit heavy in oil but that was expected since part of the sauce included hot chili oil. The sesame sauce was very good in flavor but seemed to be missing something. I can only say that after eating the same type of noodle at Shang Dong restaurant in Oakland I haven't found any other place that can compare. The mistake dish that we got which I think is a stir fried combination hand made noodle had really nice fresh made noodles that were cooked just right and had a nice chewey consistency. The dish also had large pieces of lightly battered chicken, shrimp and beef. I really enjoyed this mistake. Hahaha. What was that song that had the lyric about being my favorite mistake? 😍 Overall, I really liked the food and next time I'm at the Pacific East Mall I'll stop by and try out some other dishes from Sichuan Fusion. Update March 9, 2024. Came here to celebrate an occasion and decided to try out the Sichuan Fusion restaurant since our previous experience was good with the delivered food. Unfortunately, this time, our sit-down dining experience was very disappointing. We ordered the combination fried rice, beef Cheung Fun, deep fried fish, sizzling beef and mushroom, and tender tofu and egg stew. The fried rice was extremely salty to the point that we had them take it back to get a new one but they came back out with the same dish but just added some extra rice in it. This didn't help at all since the old fried rice was overly saturated with salt and the chicken and other meats were salty as the sea. The extra rice they added only dampened the saltiness by just a tiny bit. The rest of the food was mediocre at best with little flavor. The only thing that was good was the tofu egg stew and the fried fish. We were so disappointed with the food that we didn't even eat half of it and just took it home so I could touch it up for dinner the next day. Not sure what happened between the time we ordered for delivery to the time we came here to eat but can't help but think that it was such a letdown. Maybe they changed cooks or the other one was off.. who knows, but wow.. not good.

We always visit this place when visiting the area since it has been our favorite for Sichuan cuisine. However, the same dishes no longer stay consistent with taste and portion from our last visit. The server said they are in process to change ownership.

I was excited to try this restaurant as I love MaPo Tofu. The lunch special was generous in proportions and they give a nice soup, salad, tea and eggroll along with the main dish. Unfortunately, the MaPo tofu was inedible (though I sure tried to eat it!) - I have never tasted anything like it - it was a super strong chemically/salty flavor and tasted nothing like real food. I wonder if the cook mistook MSG for corn starch? I ate what I could and probably shouldn't have as it was just awful (I'm hoping I don't get sick), but I was hungry. Worth another try maybe because the service was very good and other reviews are decent, but I won't go out of my way again to go here and I won't order the MaPo tofu.

We ordered the Fish Fillet Dry Pot which I had been ordering for 11 years...but this time it tastes completely different. I'm a bit disappointed. Thet must have changed chef! Please bring your original chef back! 😭

Baited by a “coupon” for dinning in. I like coming here every so often to get food here and one time for takeout they gave me a coupon that says $10 (see photo for details) but terms and conditions says dine-in only. So the next time I took my partner out to eat and before we ordered I asked to make sure it was valid, the staff said no, we must spend over $100. Umm where does it say on the card? They clarified it’s “written” on the site via scan the QR code. Ok but like spending X amount to get a discount seems rather significant to put on the damn card don’t you think? The staff gaslighted me and said they made a 2nd version of the discount card to clarify that but would not honor my old one that is clearly their mistake. Don’t dine-in feeling guilty so that you shouldn’t leave. Don’t bother with that discount card BS. They don’t even feel bad for their mistakes.

Be aware! Staff might steal your food! I had sichuan fried chicken. It was a bit too spicy for me so I only had 2 pieces. I then asked the server to put the rest of food in a doggy bag so I could take it home. When I got home, I found out that the server only put 2 pieces of spicy chicken in the doggy bag. The rest were gone!!! ;p A reminder to finish all your food and not to request a doggy-bag - the staff might eat it !

I ordered spicy beef stew here . When i got my food it was too much oil u cant no longer taste what the food taste like is just oil. . So i ask the employee if she can replace it for me . . And she did. . But after giving me the replacing soup. The other lady came up to me and told me next time dont order spicy cuz that oil is coming from chili. . Which is right why i wasnt prepared of is why oil is more than the soup . . I took a pic of the soup after me taking off some oil that floating . . I dont have a problem me tqking out the oil out of my food . But coming up to ur customer while eating ur food and tell them “next time dont order this and that is so disrespectfull “
