Lovely cafe. Came here on a Thursday afternoon and had such a wonderful experience. 🦋Staff were very welcoming. 🦋great space with art, plants, and definitely Cuban look (I've been to Cuba, so I definitely see Cuban influence here, especially with the ceiling, art, etc), sitting arrangements varies, love that there is a kiddie table. There's a couch for a bigger group. 🦋I loved my mocha 🦋the chedar chive scone was delicious 🦋the ricotta toast was phenomenal, the perfect blend of sweet and savory. Loved it. 🦋my partner really enjoyed the star anise spiced latte (it wasn't my favorite, though). Overall, I highly recommend coffee lovers and those who support and care about the community (farm to table) 🦋fresh bread Definitely make your way here.

One of my favorite Cafés in Ridgewood, especially for chatting with a friend or working (reliable WiFi, spacious, and 10+ tables!). The people working there are super friendly and always make my day. The coffee is excellent and decently priced for NYC. A rare café that knows how to properly use an espresso machine. The baked goods are also delicious, especially the Tahini Cookie, Almond Croissant, and the Cheddar Chive Scone.

I was so hype to check out this new neighborhood coffee shop/cafe and Katan did not disappoint!!! The energy here is friendly, chill, and was perfect for a morning with my friend and doing laptop work. The barista Mark was so so sweet. I loved the banana frappe (with cold brew) and the star anise cortado. Also loved the delicious egg and cheese sandwiches on sourdough! We got our sandwiches serviced with the crunchiest yummiest pickles (a must). I can’t wait to come back here and try all the other items on the menu. Overall, I can’t wait to see what this spot continues to offer! I talked with the owner and he mentioned new upcoming menu items/inspirations and pop up events, so I highly suggest checking the Instagram (@katan_nyc) for offerings. 👩🏼‍💻💃🏻🎉🤤

Katan has quickly become my favorite cafe in NYC! The espresso is always perfectly dialed in, and they serve excellent pastries, plus an ever expanding food menu. The baristas are all consistent, kind, and really know their coffee. Klovis, my fave, is a smiling face you can always count on. They create a wonderful atmosphere; one that allows you to watch your hours stretch before you without fear. A good cafe offers a place for thinking, crystallization and repose. Katan does exactly this, and I’m so grateful to have it as a third space in my life. <3

This place is so cozy and lovely. It’s not a laptop zone - it feels like the kind of place where you actually want to sit and chat with a friend. I love the sunny outdoor seats. It’s also big enough for a stroller to get in and out easily! Very friendly staff as well. Love this place and hope it does well. 🩵

Neighborhood gem with a bangin’ breakfast sandwich. The Baristas were efficient/friendly. I had a great harvest squash latte. The real standout is the posh bacon on the breakie, which is marianated in maple, espresso and hot sauce. So yum!

After refunding me, I was annoyed that I’m now running late since I’ve placed my order that I decided to not grab anything and just left.

Try sky coffee shop instead, they actually know what they’re doing.

This has to be some kind of social experiment. I love supporting small businesses but 2 coffees for $16 and the nerve to charge extra for milk to fix the burnt taste of my coffee & request a tip?! Left both drinks on the table and ran out of there. Funky ambiance with mismatched chairs and terrible service, welcome to Ridgewood. Don’t waste your money or time.

As a first impression, I did not feel welcomed, the customer service was not there. When I said thank you for my coffee, I just got silence, not have a good day, or enjoy, and was being stared down. Not even a stay or to go was asked. Compared to a white lady who was being treated nicely and was given better customer service, it definitely felt racially motivated as a Hispanic. Don't feel comfortable going to this place again.
