Delicious delicious delicious. I’m so glad we decided to dine here on our trip. The food was phenomenal. I don’t think there is a bad thing on the menu. The tortellini and the lasagna were so good. The fish was fresh and so yummy. The polenta bread with the chili butter was so good and the mortadella was delish as well.

For a relatively small brunch menu, I was impressed by the diversity of dishes - from more traditional brunch items to some Asian-inspired touches, it serves a wide palette and consistently delivered. The cocktails were also amazing! I loved the espresso martini (surprisingly heavy on the espresso, but not in a bad way) and the carrot drink (tasted like a health juice, also not in a bad way). Definitely deserves the hype and will be back to try other food + drink items.

Had an amazing dining experience at Rolo’s tonight! Would recommend the polenta bread, the lasagna, the wood fired squash, and of course the burger. I went with a group of 4 and we split everything! Will definitely be headed back soon.

I am addicted to Love and the Lasagna Verde Bolognese at Rolo’s. It is the most innovative lasagna that I have ever tasted. The Burnt Cinnamon Ice Cream is also to die for. The cheeseburger is up there with the best! I dined at this establishment on 1/24/26, and I give some Love to the bartender Dre’ and waitress Hannah. They were the most hospitable to me and my plus one. I shall return to reorder the Lasagna and Ice Cream.

Unique takes on classic dishes, more hits than misses, amazing service and vibes. I have been to Rolos many times. On my most recent visit was reminded why I come back so much. On this visit I enjoyed the one sheet lasagna, the pickled carrots, the chili bread, the short rib pasta, the passion fruit crème caramel, the lime coconut sorbet and the apple tart. The one sheet lasagna is almost always incredible. It is rich and decadent. There is a sweetness from the tomato sauce, a salty umami from the meat inside said sauce, a creaminess from a béchamel, and a tang from high quality Parmesan. I have had many of my guests doubt this dish but after trying it they usually call it one of the best lasagnas they have ever tried. The only note is that it has a char on top which either perfectly compliments the flavor or completely overpowers it. If it is too charred it can begin to taste like the bottom of an oven. The pickled carrots and chili bread were great. The carrots offered a fresh citrus pallet cleanser with notes of orange. The chili bread is warm and comforting with a slight richness from the light toppings. The short rib pasta was new for me on this visit. I would not order it again. Although the short rib was flavorful, there was way too little for the amount of pasta. Additionally the sauce was watery and creamy at the same time. Like a broth with a few tablespoons of cream. As someone who is lactose intolerant I have to consider if a dish is worth upsetting my stomach to enjoy, this dish did not pass that test. The desserts are always strong. Our bartender peach (more on her in a second) recommended the lime coconut sorbet. This is the best sorbet I have ever had. It is incredibly rich from the coconut cream and had a light zing from the lime that tastes like summer even in the dead of winter. The passion fruit crème caramel is creamy and tart with a brûlée flavor from the caramel, I always enjoy this. The baked apple tart is densely packed apples within a pastry crust. The crust is lighter than a pie but the tart is served by the slice with a side of whipped cream. I like to pair this with a sorbet for peak experience. Sometimes it can be served on the colder side but this time is was gently warm from the kitchen and ended the meal perfectly. I have had pretty much everything on the menu so let me just note that the war style potatoes are not for me. The horseradish sauce on top is overwhelming for the palette and can really stop a meal while you try to get the flavor out of your mouth. I have had these once and will not be ordering them again. If you get there early enough they have limited availability of their burger. It is great so if it is available, order it. However, dont only go for the burger. You will miss out on everything else that really makes Rolos special. Our service was provided by the lovely bartender Peach. Peach is calm, charismatic and professional (a rare and powerful combo in NYC). She kindly offered us recommendations during our meal on what to order and how best to enjoy dishes that really improved our experience even as revisiting customers. My brother adores the whiskey sours a Rolos and Peach delivered during this visit of course. As a bartender myself, I really enjoyed Peach’s candid conversation about drinks, dishes, and life. Peach is a fantastic bartender! Of course she knows how to make drinks of impeccable quality but she also understands that hospitality extends beyond serving drinks. Peach made us feel warmly welcome and I would honestly prefer to enjoy my meal at the bar because I know if I had any questions or concerns, Peach would handle them with grace. We enjoyed our dining with Peach so much we ordered an extra round of drinks just to lengthen our meal a bit. That’s how a good bartender should make you feel, like you want to stay a little longer and definitely makes you want to come back.

My best friend and I have been frequenting Rolos since we watched that one video about how their lasagna is made. It's been a special treat when we can manage to get a table (one that's well worth the wait). The staff here is truly incredible. A lot of restaurants in the city can be condescending and rude, but the entire staff at Rolos is beyond kind and accommodating. If you're able to snag a res, which we were today, you're in for a real treat. When I put in the res notes that this would be our last dinner together given my leaving NYC, the staff made it truly special! Standout dishes: chili polenta bread, cheeseburger, skirt steak, and of course, the lasagna! While we went back and forth about where to have our "last supper" as our server called it, we knew Rolo's was the only right choice. The food is always consistent, outstanding, and a memorable experience. I couldn't have imagined a better way to close out my NY days. Thank you so much to the Rolos staff for such a considerate, caring, and extraordinary experience.

The food was really good, and the lasagna was definitely my favorite and honestly one of the best I’ve ever had with smoky taste. The burger was also great. The steak, though was just okay, so I probably wouldn’t get the steak again but the pasta and the house made bread with the dip were amazing. We walked in right at opening time and luckily got a table.

I’ve been here for brunch and dinner and both are so worth it! The vibe is curated perfectly inside - it’s cozy, homey, the music is lovely and so are the people. We came in around 1:30 on a Saturday and only waited 10 minutes for a table for 4. Unfortunately the burger was already sold out but everything was so good, I don’t think anything on the menu is a miss. The steak radicchio caesar is a must-order and the apple butter French toast might be the best I’ve ever had.

This was one of the best dinners that I have had in awhile. Rolo’s really does such an after a job at creating an atmosphere that feels both like home and fine dining. Everything on the menu catches your eye, but I much say that sitting by the oven you can easily tell what is the most popular item is: the lasagna. Undoubtedly one of the best bites of pasta in the city, and I will also add that their burger can stand with many of the other high caliber bistro’s in town. Such a delight, I would easily recommend Rolo’s to all of my friends and family. I can’t wait to go back already!

Made reservations walked in and was pleasantly surprised..this is a busy establishment reservations are recommended..Natalie who was our waitress was an absolute doll. So informative with a wealth of knowledge about the food. The food hands down was a ten out of ten. We ordered the crispy potatoes for the table, yum and yum. A second order was made immediately don't judge. I ordered the eggs with the polenta bread sooo good.my friend ordered the French toast which was to die for..need I say more. The food is very filling and so very delicious.

I’ve had Rolo’s on my list for a while, and it lived up to every bit of the hype. The space has a warm neighborhood feel but the food and service are truly next level! Everything we ordered was outstanding! The wood fired polenta bread with Calabrian chili butter was a knockout. Soft, flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. The flavors from the wood fired oven gave it a subtle smokiness that made it really special. The cheesy potato croquettes were divine, warm, gooey, and incredibly comforting. Think the best version of a mozzarella stick, but with potato and better cheese— who wouldn’t love this?! The fluke crudo with carrot vinaigrette, serrano, and pumpkin seeds was bright and punchy, with pristine fish and beautifully balanced flavors. The fluke was great quality so it’s clear to see Rolo’s really cares about souring quality ingredients. The ricotta cavatelli with creamed corn, pecorino, and black pepper was another standout. The pasta had the perfect bite, and the sweet corn flavor was so pure and lovely that I kept going back for more. We also had the two sheet lasagna verde bolognese (beef and pork). It was rich, hearty, and had that delicious wood fired taste. I found the salt a touch assertive, but my husband absolutely loved it and called it one of his favorite dishes of the night. The crispy potatoes war style with their homemade sauce deserve their own applause. They might sound simple, but the combination of peanut sauce, onions, and kewpie mayo was unreal. The fry on those potatoes was perfect, and they even stayed crispy when we reheated them the next day. Dessert was bread pudding à la mode, solid but not my favorite of the night, which says more about how exceptional everything else was. The spicy pineapple margaritas were phenomenal. Perfectly balanced, fruity, spicy, and not too sweet. I had three and would have happily had a fourth! And the service? Flawless!!! Ask to sit in Atticus’ section and trust his recommendations completely. He was friendly, attentive, and clearly knows the menu inside out. I told him I wanted the dishes that truly impress, and he delivered on every single one. I love a nice person and he was truly very kind! Rolo’s is the kind of restaurant that reminds you why you love dining out, with fantastic food, amazing drinks, and service that makes you feel taken care of. I can’t wait to go back!

Came here for brunch with friends. The burger had run out, but we ordered a variety of plates to try. The polenta bread was incredible and the French toast was perfectly sweet. The war fries were crunchy and salty but I would've preferred the sauce on the side. The vegetables were great and the whole meal felt like a perfect balance. The service and athomsphere were great, bustling with positive energy.

The bread here is really chewy, nutty, and full of flavor! I highly recommend the different kinds of bread. The pasta and lasagna were also very tasty—the pasta itself was excellent, and the menu was unique yet delicious! If you’re in Brooklyn, you should definitely visit. I recommend it. The atmosphere is great too!

For the first time , it was amazing. However, usually, when it's dinner time, I expect it to be a bit more calming and quiet. But overall, great things were done the food. The service was top tier, making sure that everyone got their meal at the same time. So a lot of good work was put into it. It is worth bringing a loved one and a family to enjoy. Now, there can be some areas of improvement. The peach dessert could have been in a wider vessel with a smaller spoon because I brought a friend who was blind trying to get the dessert from the cup, and the pepper from the burger special could be chopped than leaving it whole.

I highly highly recommend the leafy greens and herb salad, calabrian chili wood fired polenta bread combined with the house made mortadella, two sheet lasagna, and lastly, the littleneck clam pasta. I personally loved the crispy potatoes "war style" but do think the pungent lemongrass dip can be polarizing. The fluke crudo was so unfresh that it made me lose my usually robust appetite (and taste-wise was very disappointing compared to other crudos), but the server was hospitable and took it off the cheque. The pork t-bone was tasty but not as remarkable as the other dishes. Rolo's is very ingredient-forward and works with flavors in a unique way. Minus the fluke crudo, 5/5 dining experience.

This is a festive vibrant restaurant with good vibe and excellent service. It is actually quite large once you walked into the restaurant and passed the hallway and then the cool open kitchen. We had the chili bread, crudo, wagyu steak, green lasagna, grilled pork, crispy potatoes, wine and desserts. They were all delicious especially the bread, steak and pork. Yummy to the tummy 🤗

My first time here, I got the burger after hearing the hype. The waiter made it a point to mention that it was still available (because they’ll run out later in the day) and asked if we wanted to reserve one. I was thinking it would be the best thing on the menu but it really was just okay. I’m glad I tried it, but I kind of regretted getting it. It also made me suspicious of all the other things on the menu that I didn’t get to try. I went back recently to give some other things a try and I’m really really happy I did. Everything hit this time. The polenta bread, the lasagna, the leafy green salad, and maggie’s little pumpkin. I’d give them all 5 Stars. If you save room for dessert, get the brown butter apple tart. You won’t regret it. In terms of service and atmosphere, they were great both times. Super friendly and very ridgewood, so you can come and expect to feel at home.

The house dry-aged steak was really good, like one of the top five steaks I have had. Side dishes were a bit too salty for me, especially the greens. Calabrian chili butter polenta bread was also delicious. Strawberry almond tart was just okay. Service was excellent. Casual ambiance. I would go back.

I went there earlier when it first opened and they had their fresh pasta market. But I recently came back for my birthday and was pleasantly surprised on how everything tasted. Definitely get each of the polenta bread as the appetizers are small portion sizes. I had the ravioli pasta dish and it was only like 8 pieces which was disappointing of a portion size. Food was however delicious. They also do not do complimentary dessert.

I was so excited to try this spot but left feeling a bit disappointed. I went for a birthday dinner and enjoyed the polenta bread, pork and lasagna. The sweet potato pasta was good but tiny in portion. Everything else was so so salty including the clam pasta and burger which was disappointing. The steak we got was also so chewy my jaw was sore eating it lol the potatoes fires were cold when it came to our table. And no complimentary dessert for birthdays either which was a bummer.

The salad was inedible due to the amount of salt in it. The polenta bread was good, but again over salted. The better were oversalted as well. The malfadine pasta was correctly salted. The service at the bar was good as were the well drinks.

Charming ambiance and good place for group dinner. This place is super famous for the 2 sheet lasagna but personally I was not a fan, instead I found the ricotta cavatelli pasta to be the star on the menu — also loved the almond tart (aromatic and nicely presented). Skip the skirt steak (prime cut is better) and polenta bread with calabrion chili (take sesame & wild oregano instead). Very kind staff: Hunter was exceptional with service and made us feel very welcome !

Side note- Was here back in mid May and the menu has slightly changed so the prices might be slightly different. In short, I recommend the small plates much more than the main dishes. Get the flatbread, stracciatella, crispy potatoes, and order the lasagna if you have to get a main. Anyway, I was back at this spot a few months ago with a small group for dinner having been here once prior. By comparison to our first meal, I would say this dinner was worse by comparison mostly due to the overcooked proteins while the small plates were excellent as well as the potatoes so it was a very uneven meal. The staff was friendly and there was enough room for us to sit comfortably. To drink, I had the "Martini Spanish" for $17 with Mahón gin, Atxa Blanco vermouth, sherry, olive brine, and pepper. The martini was unique being more vegetal/botanical forward with plenty of gin in particular and was an interesting sip throughout the evening. We started with two of the small plates which happened to be the same plates I had a couple years ago. As per before, the Wood-Fired Polenta Flatbread for $13 with Calabrian chili butter was delicious with a perfectly charred bread. The chili butter is wonderful and while I still do not like paying for bread, this is a rare exception. Again, the Stracciatella Cheese for the same price with silk chili and sumac was wonderful. The cheese was silky and the bit of sourness and bitterness from the combination of the chili and sumac worked perfectly. Honestly if I was to come back here again, I would make a meal out of these two things and maybe one other smaller plate or dessert. This time, I got to try the Two-Sheet Lasagna for $32 which is served with verde bolognese which was the best entree by default. As someone who loves end pieces, the best thing about this lasagna was the texture with its mixture of crunch and softness. However, the bolognese itself was almost a bit too light with it lacking any richness and any type of meaty flavor so while the outside was nice, the inside was lacking. This was good but not as good as all the old hype surrounding it but was still the best of the large plates. Also pretty good was the Wagyu Beef Skirt Steak for $48 which was decently portioned with a nice herb butter on top. The steak itself was cooked on the rarer end of medium rare so it had a bit too much of a chew unfortunately even for skirt steak. Outside of the chewiness, I would recommend it as if it was cooked well, the dish would have been excellent. The Pork T-Bone for $35 with pine nuts and grilled spring onion agrodolce was also just OK. While the outside was nicely cooked, the inside of the pork wasn't super tender. The pine nuts added some nice crunch with the sweet onion mix added a nice extra flavor but overall, I found the dish both a bit chewy and too sweet. Last of the entrees and certainly least was the Charred Half Chicken for $34 with salsa verde, mayo, and green tomatoes. The chicken had a nice outside sear but the meat itself wasn't too tender and I would honestly be pretty surprised if it was brined. The sauce had a bit too much sourness for my liking and this is coming from someone who loves a bit of sourness in their dishes which doesn't help either. I found the dish in other words unbalanced and overcooked and I wouldn't recommend it at all. We also got the Crispy Potatoes "War Style" for $12 which is apparently a mix of spicy peanut sauce and kewpie mayo. I liked the texture of the potatoes with a mix of some crispier parts and softer ones. The only complaint I could make is that I wish there was more peanut sauce but overall, it was still very tasty. At the price point for the entrees, it's harder to not judge this place more severely. While I liked or loved three dishes, the remaining three had major faults with the best entree (lasagna) being just OK. For wood-fired food, there's other spots I would recommend much more heavily such as the similarly hard to get into Theodora or if you can't get into the former, Peasant which just has better food for the price point.
