Wow, I have no bad words to say about OOKA. This place is delicious. My friend and I came here for the lunch specials (ends at 2:30) and the food was delicious. I got the bento box, the thin steak option, and my friend got the maki rolls. I also ordered the fried rice ($17). All of the little dishes in the bento box were great tasting. The service was great; our waiter was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is my favorite, I love a dimly lit restaurant, definitely want to come back for dinner.

I have yet to have a bad experience at Ooka. This was my 4th time going and I have to say....it is better than shogun!! Their noodles are so good they're addicting! When I visit, I always order the deluxe (filet, shrimp, scallions). Not pictured is the salad and clear soup. The salad dressing is so tasty and the mushroom soup is a great starter. I love the teppanyaki because you get SO MUCH FOOD! I easily get two meals from this one trip because of how filling the meal is. This place is amazing to go to for celebrations or just on days you're very hungry. Ambiance and service are both great. My only complaint is if you do not have a big party with you, you get crammed in with strangers and don't have much personal space to yourself. Other than that, this is a must visit!!

This was my first visit to Ooka and I was impressed with the beautiful interior as well as the friendly staff. Everyone greeted us with a smile, including those who were not directly involved in our service. We ordered the California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and the Signature 951 Roll. Later, another friend joined us and I was able to sample the Stinky Roll as well. All I can say is that everything was fresh and delectable! It would be very difficult to choose a favorite--and I think that's a good thing!

Ooka has delicious food in a fun setting. This review is specifically for the hibachi grill, not the sushi bar. The food is good, and my only note about the food is that the portions of the proteins (steaks, salmon, chicken, etc.) are VERY small. The New York steaks are 6 ounce cuts, which is small. That being said, it's still plenty of food, because the hibachi meals include salad, clear soup, rice, noodles, the protein, and a couple shrimps. The quality of the "show" varies widely, but it's generally fun. And the scallops were perfectly prepared. I've been here several times, and have always been pleased.

We did not have a reservation and were told it would be a 1 hr wait (we live 50 miles away). We agreed and walked around . After 15 minutes we were seated. We were a party of 3. The service was amazing. The food is great! We sat for hibachi and sushi. It was awesome.

During our initial visit as a family of four, we dined at one of the non-hibachi tables. The meal was delightful, and the service was satisfactory. Upon receiving the bill, I observed that a gratuity had been included, which I found unusual ,but did not question it as we were pressed for time to attend a movie. On our second visit, however, no gratuity was pre-applied to the bill. This led me to wonder about the discrepancy. In the future, I will certainly be more attentive to and inquire about the details of the bill.

We were there later on a Saturday evening. We were told it would take a happy an hour to get a seat for the hibachi, but it took much longer than that to get a table. When we were seated, the server bright out our appetizers fairly quickly. The food was prepared just as requested and was seasoned will.

Ooka Sushi & Hibachi Steak House – Stylish Dining with Steep Prices Located in the lively Riverside Plaza, Ooka Sushi & Hibachi Steak House is a well-known spot offering a fusion of American-style Japanese cuisine, including sushi, sashimi, and hibachi. The restaurant features a visually engaging setup—with large hibachi tables where chefs cook meals right in front of guests, making it a fun option for families or group dining. There’s also a sushi bar, allowing customers to watch the sushi-making process. The overall interior is modern and stylish, with fancy lighting and a chilled, upscale ambiance. However, despite the appealing setting, the pricing is noticeably high, especially for dinner. The difference between lunch specials and dinner prices is quite stark—something that may catch customers off guard. While the sushi and rolls are flavorful, they come at a premium. For example: The Winter Roll, which includes raw salmon and tuna wrapped in cucumber, was a refreshing starter but spicier than expected. The Spider Roll offered crispy fried soft-shell crab with cucumber inside the rice roll. It was decent, though not particularly standout. There are also teriyaki plate options with rice and salad, but beef selections are significantly more expensive than other proteins. Service was attentive, though perhaps overly so—a server checked in with me several times in a short span, which disrupted the meal rather than enhanced it. Additionally, they include a mandatory 18% gratuity on the final bill without advance notice, which left a negative impression. --- Overall, while Ooka offers a stylish setting and entertaining hibachi experience, the high prices and service quirks may not justify the cost for everyone. A better value might be found during lunch hours rather than dinner.

Food is good atmosphere is cool. But not enough to get me to ever come back. The customer service and professionalism are horrible. We made online reservation for a birthday dinner. Two times they called us to push time to an earlier time. Only call us a third time to cancel our reservation 3hrs before we are set to arrive. Leaving us to scrabble to find a different restaurant. We tried to explain the situation and they weren’t very sympathetic. They couldn’t care less.

The food does not match its Nice ambiance and comfortable space : below average. Unusually thin sliced sashimi and not fresh. When fresh sashimi melts in your mouth, this sushi tastes rubbery. And the decorative pieces on the plate seemed reused, wilted and old. Small Portion . Salad dressing was good but the greens look old and unwashed. Server seemed to be unhappy to be there. Maybe she has a bad day, hope it gets better for her. Mandatory 18% gratuity no matter what service you get. Will not recommend to anyone who is a sushi connoisseur or high expectation of fresh seafood. After all who would want to chew on rubbery fresh fish meat?

⭐️ 1 Star (would give 0 if possible) I went out for dinner with my family, including two small kids, and unfortunately this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. The hibachi chef was great and entertaining, although the seating was extremely cramped. The extra food that came out was tasty—until things took a terrifying turn. While eating my hibachi, I suddenly felt something sharp poke the roof of my mouth. I wasn’t eating anything crunchy, so I tried chewing again and felt the same sharp poke. When I spit it out, I was horrified to find a piece of wire—likely from a wire brush—mixed in with my food. I was shocked and immediately worried, especially because my kids had already been eating. None of us could continue eating after that, and of course we didn’t want to take anything home. No staff member came over to check on us; we had to bring it up ourselves to the host at the front. The only response we received was a $10 discount and no genuine apology, which felt extremely dismissive given how dangerous swallowing a wire can be. I’m very thankful it was me who found it and not one of my children. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

I am a regular here and have spent a lot of money over the years for take out and dine in not only for myself personally, but for my staff. Today I called in to place a to go order and was told that they no longer accept phone orders and orders need to be placed online. I go to their website and after trying to navigate it for over 5 minutes I call back and inform the person who answered the phone that there’s no option to do so. She hops on her phone and attempts to find where to order. No luck, I ask her if she can ask a manager to assist and after holding for a few minutes she comes back and tells me to order on Chow Now. As I’m looking for Chow Now I call back and ask which app because there was more than one. I was on a time constraint and she said to come in. I rush to get here only to be told last call stopped two minutes ago. I explained I was the person who had called and had an issue with ordering (because she didn’t have the right info) and she had no empathy whatsoever. I could’ve asked for a manager but I was so upset that I walked out. Please train your employees so they are equips with providing customers the correct info and not leading them on a wild goose chase. I am VERY disappointed as all I wanted was a bento box which is an easy order. My daughter wanted soup since she just had dental work done. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I don’t know if I’ll ever return at this point. Please train your host so they know how to assist ALL customers not just the ones walking through the door.
