Amazing, absolutely amazing. The bowls, the chicken, GARLIC PARM FRIES!!! Such a fabulous theme, and the packaging is top notch. Everything is boxed/wrapped with love and care. You can tell they spend on the packaging, which makes for such a nice experience instead of food being thrown into plastic bags like most places. And they keep the prices at a reasonable level. Only issue is the parking but if you want the chicken goodness, you'll make it work just like all of us. Haha!
Eating here was the highlight of my visit to downtown Rochester! The portion, flavors, and crispy crunch on the chicken was delicious. I like spicy food and felt the hot tub wasn't so hot, good flavor and enough heat to tell it was there but if you like spicy food try the super hot rub.
Fantastic food-- I've had their bowls and sandwiches and both are great. They have a few levels of spice, helpful for my wife who doesn't like spicy food. Personally, I suggest the "Pa Paul" bowl with whichever spice level you feel comfortable with- I think it tastes best with a higher spice level. Eating in, I find the music can be a bit too loud. It has been a few months since I've eaten in so that could've changed. I'm fairly certain they used to have a fish fry which was the best I have tasted in Rochester, although I don't see it as an option on their menu now. If it's there, definitely recommend it.
Chick’n Out has some of the best fried chicken in Rochester. The remodeled space is beautiful and clean, a great spot to dine in. The sauce options are next level - buttermilk ranch and honey mustard are favorites! The bar also has a solid variety of options, which makes it an easy choice whether you’re grabbing a quick meal or settling in for a longer hang. Definitely worth a visit.
Went here on a whim today and wow I will definitely be back!! Everything I tried was absolutely delicious, the regular and hot chicken and side and sauces were all sooooo good, and the staff were super friendly and explained everything very well so we knew what to order. Some of the best food I've had in a while this place is awesome!
2nd time visiting this place. The food was GREAT!( I had the fish fry) I met the owner Adam and he was SO ATTENTIVE AND NICE! Have to give a shout out to the girl who took my order ( Mercedes) So polite, kind, and courteous. I REALLY enjoyed my dining experience tonight!👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Best fried chicken hands down in Rochester. If you haven’t tried this place, you are missing out. Great music is always playing in their dining rooms and staff are friendly and will take the time to explain the menu to you. Highly recommend the Mac Attack bowl and The Heater sandwich. Of course you can never go wrong with a spicy 3 piece tender with some of their delicious garlic parmesan fries. Bring a friend or two and check out their bar, they have cocktails that they change occasionally. Great spot to watch the Bills play.
Awesome place, awesome food. My father-in-law and I both got the tenders, my wife got the regular sandwich, and our kids got the chicken and waffles. Everything was killer. The chicken was amazing, breading was on point. And the sides. The Mac and Cheese was perfect. Our son who is a M&C snob loved it. The garlic parm fries were dead on awesome. And our daughter loved the country corn. If you haven't been, you're doing a disservice to yourself and family/friends. While we didn't take advantage of the full bar, it was a nice setup, and the place was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Get down there and give it a shot. You can't go wrong.
This was our first time here, and we will definitely be back. The ordering staff were fantastic, even alerting us that there was a longer wait for food than usual. After all, it was SpongeBob trivia night. 🤣 We both had the 3 pc chicken tender meal. These were super huge, moist, and tender. It was fantastic. Give it a try if you haven't yet. 👍 Update 12/19/25: Stopped in before a show downtown and grabbed a couple of Uncle Nini bowls. Excellent and will get those again. Particularly liked the Mac salad and of course, the chicken tenders rock!
The food here is beyond comparison! Everything on the menu is made to perfection by the very talented kitchen team, I have never once been disappointed even when trying something new. Counter staff are friendly and incredibly helpful, all with an impressive knowledge of not only the menu, but the restaurant itself as well as its mission statement. Every order from Chick’n Out is a smash hit, I am very excited to watch this business grow and expand!
The mac attack bowl is so good—creamy mac and cheese with crunchy fresh fries, chicken tenders, scallions and mac sauce. Sooo good. The wings were pretty good too although I prefer wet sauce over dry rub with sauce on the side. We tried the awesome sauce which was like a spicy mayo (and medium hot dry rub) and got bleu cheese to cool it down.
I came here for lunch today and the food was fantastic! I've had chicken and waffles once before at another restaurant and I didn't like it. But this place is amazing. I really loved how crispy the chicken was, and how sweet the waffle was. I definitely recommend this place for chicken and waffles! I'm definitely coming back here again soon!
I thought the place would be super busy by the reviews, so I showed up 10 minutes before my food was supposed to be ready to grab a drink and was pleasantly surprised that my food was being put up the second I walked in the door. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and they had the windows open, so I stayed for a beer and ended up getting one of their signature cocktails too. (the little red corvette, which was delicious with the fresh watermelon puree) As for the food, the chicken tenders here are HUGE and well seasoned. It was easily the best cooked and juiciest chicken I’ve had in a minute. I’ll be coming back for sure! And the cherry on top was they were playing Dragonball AND the Finals game on the bar tv! 🤘
Staff is stellar! Maybe stay away from the Sandwiches? Ordered a chicken sandwich, tenders and a fry bowl on a monday evening for pick up! Tenders and Bowl were hot, fresh, and spicy. Sandwich was definitely premade though and sitting *way* too long, all you could taste was old, couldnt end up eating it :(. Can understand planning ahead for a rush but there's no way this wasnt just vibing there for a few hours and passed off to us.
Our first time trying food here was during a fish fry special and it was a very overwhelming process, so I tried not to let it discourage us from trying again for chicken. The wrap combo is a great value and is absolutely amazing. The breading to meat ratio is spot on and the tortilla was soft and warm. Lettuce provided a fresh crunch and the fries were the perfect salty side. The wings were also really good. Not tiny pigeon wings and were just the right level of crispy while still being juicy inside. Not going to lie, the extra sides (mac and cucumber onion salads) weren't my thing, but I'm not mad I tried them. Next time I'll try different menu items. Finally, the kool-aid and banana pudding definitely hit the nostalgic craving I was having. I've been a Dave's Hot Chicken girly, but if y'all add cauliflower to your menu, you've got me for life!!!
Having visited Hattie Bs in Nashville we were excited to eat at chicken out. Fun atmosphere, delicious chicken tenders and The cucumber Salad was a nice pairing. PA Pau bowl was a lil shy on chicken but when you want to get a light meal with fries and chicken this hits the spot. Bar view was nice to watch NFL draft a bonus.
A very solid spot for chicken and Mac and cheese! The chicken wings are amazing. Amazing crunch, juicy meat, well seasoned. The sauce on the side was fantastic. The Mac Attack bowl is pretty good but my only complaint is that the sauce tasted too much like mayonnaise (although I'm not exactly sure what the sauce is). The "mayo" flavor really overpowered the cheese part. Other than that, the chicken and fries were great. The blue Kool aid was a nice addition to the meal. Would recommend!
Chick n out is a very good restaurant choice for chicken. I enjoyed the seasoning and the meat was cooked great. The tenders tend to be on the larger side, but you pay the higher price for them. I was fond of the Mac and cheese and the spices mixed in. It’s classic chicken, but below the GOAT, Raising Canes. I recommend trying the 3 tenders and it includes a side. But at the hefty cost of $16, it is near the expensive side of chicken places. Nevertheless, it’s good place to mix in to your chicken restaurant rotation.
Decided to try this place this evening. My husband liked his chicken sandwich (the southern) mine was ok the classic). The coleslaw tasted like it came in a bag and the fries would be better if they were actually hot. Overall, I would rate it as ok but I won’t be back. The staff was very friendly though!
Atmosphere (5/5): Very cool Atmosphere. The music isn't loud but just loud enough to not drown out your conversation. The restaurant is very clean and the staff does a great job making sure tables are clean. Service (5/5): The staff were very polite. It was our first time visiting and they were very patient and didnt get that annoying look that you get sometimes from staff when you visit a place for the first time and need to check k out the menu. Food (3/5): First and foremost, the food isn't bad but definitely left a lot to be desired. We ordered the 3 piece chicken meal (comes with a side and a sauce). We (my wife and I) ordered the garlic fries with our meal and awesome sauce for the tenders. The best part of the meal were the fries. They had the perfect amount of parmesan and garlic seasoning and weren't overbearing. The chicken tenders, which is why most people would come here, left a lot to be desired. The chicken itself was very bland and the breading hardly had any seasoning at all. On top of that, the breading wasn't really crispy. The awesome sauce is mayonnaise based, but was more mayonnaise than anything else so I didnt really take to that. The ranch looked homeade, which I thought was a nice touch. All in all, its a decent spot. If you're in the immediate area, I think this place would probably be decent if you're looking for good tenders. While not bad, it's hard to recommend over other places in the area who I'd say are better.
Walking in, I was immediately impressed by the look and feel. Overall, I was not impressed with the food. I was excited for mac & cheese but it felt like a boxed mac & cheese was very dry and lacked flavor. I ordered a sandwich “way too hot” and it did not have any kick at all. A friend who ordered way too hot chicken strips the spice was intended so I’m guessing I just didn’t get the spice. The buns were lacking. They need to up their bun game because the chicken itself was really good but the buns made the sandwich disappointing.
