The food was amazing as usual and they never fail to satisfy me. The Andreas chicken was awesome and their rancehro sauce is top notch. It was busy for a Saturday night and we got the table with 20min wait which was worth it. I feel like the alcohol content is not up to the point on cocktail.

Monte Alban was a great post-birthday choice after Thanksgiving food. Casual, great atmosphere and service, and the food is always good. I could eat those warm tortillas and salsa as my meal! My shrimp tacos were delicious and filling. I even had enough to take one home for later, and it was still tasty. My family enjoyed their meals, and I'll always go back.

I've been here several times over the years. I was first introduced to Monte Alban over a decade ago and have been coming a few times a year ever since. The service is excellent and very friendly. The music played throughout the restaurant is a touch too loud in my opinion but that's not a huge deal. Unfortunately, Monte Alban's menu has gone through some changes of late and some old favorites are gone (RIP Fajita Vaquero). The food is tasty and served hot, but there are better burritos and tacos in Rochester. The chilaquiles are a standout however. I also really appreciate the fresh and complimentary chips and salsa.

I enjoyed this place my food was good, drink was good. I only gave this place 4 stars because 5 star restaurants should have clean eating utensils. My utensils were nasty but no other complaints. My server was attentive and welcoming and so we're the other staff.

Got food from the bar to go for dinner. There were only 3 people at the bar. Order included mushrooms when I specified NO MUSHROOMS. I ordered fajitas but teceived no tortillas. I also received no napkins or eating utensils. Food was good when I ate it the next day for lunch, but service was inexcusable. I won't be back. Mr bartender, you failed at a very simple job.

This is the first time I've been to this place and I waited about 30 minutes for my food to go. I ordered the cheese enchiladas beans and rice and they packages it up and I took it to my car and then I stopped at a coffee shop and opened it and "everything" was all over the place and I was very gentle in putting it in the car, it's not like I swung it around and tipped it upside down, all I did was set it in the seat next to me upside right, and this is how it looked when I opened it... The little container of salsa had exploded all over the inside of the bag, the cheese enchiladas were and beans and rice were all on one side of the larger container and it was just as if somebody had just thrown up, I was so surprised and a bit disappointed at the packaging and the presentation. I hope next time this doesn't happen, maybe there needs to be a reassessment of what type of packaging you're using and maybe instead of putting the beans and rice inside the large container maybe put each of them in separate containers idk. The worst part, was I didn't even have a fork nor did I have any napkins to clean up the mess, I had to stop at a Cafe in downtown Rochester to get some napkins. I read through some of the other reviews and I'm not shocked. Well the atmosphere is nice The people are nice and it's clean and The decor is nice but you really need to step up your game on your food presentation and also make sure that the food is hot and tastes good and the beans are watered down.... I'm from California so I've had lots of authentic Mexican food and I also make Mexican food myself, and not that Americanized Mexican food, I actually make authentic Mexican food, so I know what it's supposed to taste like, especially when I grew up eating Mexican food south of the border and it's so delicioso!!

We had 5 for lunch. Waitress seemed a little overwhelmed even though it wasn’t busy. 2 dishes came out, the other 3 were 10 minutes later. All were like warm. Menu is fairly basic and predictable. Food was tasty as well as the margaritas.

It was the first time for us in this restaurant. the place was clean, nice decoration, however the waiter was not smiling at all, maybe she was not happy from a previous customer or from a coworker, we where not well welcomed by her. the food didn't taste good, it did not sit well. they need to improve their food and customer service.

Sorry not Sorry, actually the only thing that was really sorry was the service. Absolutely dreadful. I understand times are tough, but shouldn't that motivate staff to work harder? IDK maybe I'm wrong. If you couldn't tell by know the service at Monte Alban did not live up to the décor. Which was great by the way. The only negative about the dining area was the fact that they had a beautiful patio with only two umbrellas available at two tables leaving the rest of the space unusable in the hot summer sun. The food was mediocre at best. the tortilla chips were warm and weren't stale, we did run out of salsa and there was no refill on that apparently so we were left with a half a basket of chips and nothing to eat them with. The drinks also went dry before we got our food. My girlfriend and I both order the burrito. They came in a timely fashion and were tasty I can't say they weren't. But that was just it...they weren't anything spectacular either. I have had much better in Auburn and Syracuse. All in all would not recommend as Monte Alban fell short of my expectations both on food and service.

I am saddened to leave this review but the service was horrible! The waitress did not seem too interested at all. She stated that they had no Gin, which I have ordered Gin from this establishment many times before. The waitress never checked on me, after delivering my meal. She only came back at the end and handed me my check. I clearly finished my drink and was hoping to get a refill. I only left a 10 percent Tip, which I never do. This happened in the evening time 11/24/2025 around 730pm. I have always had a positive experience in the past. I hope someone reads this and follows up. Not sure if im coming back.

Nobody that waited on us could speak English good enough to understand what we wanted. The beer was flat. My burrito and rice had cold spots. When I gave a fifty dollar bill to pay the bill, they took forever to figure out the change. Never ever again will we eat at the Ridge rd east restaurant. Should have sent the food back but who knows what they would do to the food when you piss them off.
