This place I feel captures the artistic spirit of Rochester. The coffee and tea here are fantastic and the music playing is always great.

I go to Java's every time I go to Rochester I don't live in Rochester my daughters and my family live there. Java's is my kind of place. This is funny but I sit in the window and I mean in the window and have my coffee with my daughter.

Was in Rochester for a camp at Eastman this summer and legit stopped in at Javas every day of the week. Was obsessed with all of the art on the walls, and the menu variety. Ordered a latte with Irish cream and it is by far the best cup of coffee I have ever tasted. Super friendly guy greeted us at the counter each day and made sure we were taken care of. Staff is incredible, efficient, accommodating. Can’t wait to be back.

Been coming to Temple for a few years. It’s a great place, very happy the new owners kept Karaoke nights and Irish nights! I’m really enjoying the new food menu as well, especially the Korean Gochujang and Buffalo Garlic boneless chicken wings, and tried the burger which was also very good.

We recently went to Rochester to a Samatha Fish concert and decided to try the Temple Bar and Grill. It was short walk from the Temple theater, and the Temple Bar and Grill was the perfect place to have food and drinks. Plenty of TVs for sports. People sitting at tables and yet not too big that you get lost. We sat at the bar ordered drinks and reviewed the menu, The staff was friendly and explained they were under new management. She pointed out the menu was new and shared their specials and their taco menu. We had a house burger, fish taco, and a Philly cheesesteak. Service was fast and the food was delicious. We had enough time to make it to the concert. I will definitely add the Temple Bar and Grill to my next visit to Rochester. Check it out! Lee and Nancy from Syracuse, NY

Our family of 4 stopped in tonight for a meal after seeing a show at the Auditorium Theatre. Food was fantastic. Kids loved the mozzarella logs and the Philly cheesesteak quesadilla was delicious. All of the staff and the owner were super friendly and service was quick. We will definitely stop back in-it’s a great location to stop in when in the city.

Just found this place while exploring the area. Recently open for lunch, they have a good Americana menu. Ambiance is really cool; feels like an old school irish pub. Service is outstanding; Symone is very hospitable, attentive, and professional.

first time in rochester and i randomly walked into this little bar. the new owner was very welcoming & enthusiastic about the menu. i ordered the boneless chicken bites with the honey bbq cajun sauce and they were an 11/10. sauce was absolutely delicious & homemade, ranch lovers this is a great one to pair it with. the breading on the chicken was outstanding, the perfect crunchy juicy chicken ratio. food pricing was reasonable, the bar staff were very friendly and checked in on the table multiple times. highly recommend to newcomers in the area!

I would like to start with a special shout-out to the Bar Managers Triston & Dylan. They really are the stars of the show here. When I walked in I was immediately greeted in a very welcoming manner. I found my seat at the bar and was handed a food menu, coaster, glass of water, hand sanitizer, and given some time to decide if, and what, I wanted to drink. I ordered some chicken wings, fried hard, and some fries (my usual bar food). Without a second thought Dylan brought over some ketchup, napkins, and utensils well within 60 seconds of my order, and my food came shortly thereafter. Triston made me a delicious "Spicy Margarita" that rivals even the best of cocktails. I don't know what made it spicy, but it definitely had a nice kick to it. Food was delicious, service was amazing, and I had a great time in the atmosphere of the bar while watching the game. I hear that Tuesday is Taco Trivia night, so I will definitely be returning to experience that. Thank you, guys!

Was casually walking through the neighborhood and stumbled upon this place. I thought it was just a regular ol’ bar with typical bar food, but it wasn’t; the menu is extensive. The weather was beautiful so I decided to eat outside (you can eat inside, as well). The bartender was great. She checked on me – and other customers that were eating outside – several times. The food was good; I had chili, boneless wings, and a side salad. There are a couple of bar games inside, and they have several tv’s surrounding the bar, so you won’t miss a game. Temple gets two thumbs up!

I came on a Saturday at 4:45pm and the place was packed. Good chai though. Definitely has the hipster feel.

Very nice spacious cafe with lots of interesting art deco, close to music school so interesting for people watching as well. The cappuccino I had was meh, but my husband said his espresso was good. We had a strawberry lemon tart that was tasty. Oatmeal raisin cookie was solid, ginger molasses was fine (my husband enjoyed it, I’m not a fan), the chocolate chip was a letdown. Still an enjoyable experience though.

A very memorable experience that hold dear to my heart to this day (since 2007:Summer time).

Unfortunately very hit or miss. Love the vibes inside and service is friendly for the most part. But the baristas don't really seem to enjoy making the drinks and it shows

Been coming to Temple for about 15 years but all good things must come to an end . Happy hour is nice after a long day but not everyone drinks beer so please have some mixed drink specials . I do wish the new owner well but not the relaxed and diverse crowd it used to be .

Echoing another review from a few weeks ago, where we got abruptly kicked out at 10pm when their hours were still listed as a 11pm close. They played increasingly annoying music before doing so, including What Does the Fox Say, and then yelled at us all to get out. Heard they're new baristas, idc, haven't been back since, put such a miserable taste in my mouth. Another friend had the same experience. Bad look for a Roc fixture.

I was at this place one night, and the bartenders were discriminating against minorities and were not serving them even though they were at the bar. If there were zero stars, I would give it that. I’ll be avoiding this place.

Good atmosphere. Wings were not fresh. Ordered 3 orders of 10 wings crispy and all of them were chewy. I believe they fry all the wings then sauce them when orders come in.
