It was ok, is Rochester, not much to expect in this town, was crowded for the size , drinks are affordable, although some of my friends were not happy with the preparation of cocktails like the Sex on The Beach. This is definitely one of the best places in Park Avenue.

I was DENIED entry due to no sleeves on my shirt🥲. Tried waiting outside as my friends came back out so we could find a different bar. Was told NOT to wait on the sidewalk in front of magpies because the OWNER would get pissed. Okay got it magpies owns the sidewalk. Been there before no problem with a sleeve shirt. Lastly Women sitting inside and outside, few had tank tops on 🤔

Irish double national, so was really looking forward to checking out this spot. Charming venue layout, close to authentic Irish pub. Probably caught them on an off night but the service was passive aggressive and I would have expected the Guinness to taste at least like something other than carbonated water. Old Told, be it British (all jokes!), is better quality. Maybe i’ll try the Magpie again, but they’d had want to get real Guinness and explain to their bartenders it’s a bad look to be criticizing patrons while they order

This place is filthy and needs a deep clean and some repairs to the ceiling. The exposed air vents are dusty, the ceiling is pealing paint from water damage from what I assume is a leaky roof. The bar top is worn and needs to be resurfaced. The bathroom is missing a door as well. This used to be a go to spot and we have not been in a while. The bartender was nice enough but this place was empty and it always used to be busy. Wonder what changed?

The bartender was extremely rude. It was my first time there I bought one single beer. It cost me $4.50 and then he belittled me because I did not tip him. It was my first time there I did not know the culture of it and I do not feel like I will ever tip this bartender again extremely rude And unprofessional. I am not obligated to tip anyone if I feel like the service is very good I will tip but what he said I will not tip him personally ever again.

No doors on the.women’s bathroom and now Not even on the toilet seats. This is just not acceptable . For women to feel safe in. A bathroom this isn’t the place. And I’ve been coming here for years this is actually sad

I tried to go here with friends and was denied entry for wearing a white tank top. It was a hot summer night, and my outfit was perfectly appropriate—I’ve worn it to plenty of other bars without issue. When I asked the security guard why it wasn’t allowed, he said, “it’s just the owner’s rules” and claimed that every bar on Park Ave enforces the same dress code (spoiler alert - they don’t!). I asked if these rules were posted anywhere, and they weren’t—nor do they appear on the bar’s website or social media. If a dress code is going to be enforced, it should be made clear. Otherwise, it feels like arbitrary and potentially discriminatory gatekeeping. I also noticed women inside wearing more revealing outfits, and the guard said the owner lets females wear whatever they want. Yikes. Overall, I don’t recommend this place, even though the security team was polite. The owner’s practices seem questionable, and when I asked to speak to him, he wasn’t available.

If white shirts aren’t allowed why’s the OWNER wearing one? Just a little confused why you’d make a police of your business you don’t even adhere to. Security was more than professional however the owner was far from it.

Didn't even sit down here. We were denied at two other places in park ave because they had long wait times. So we decided pub food sounded great! Now knowing at the time they didn't serve food for a PUB..... We walked in and stood there waiting to get seated. We were asked by some lady bartending if we needed anything and we asked if we just sit ourselves. Then she replied with a VERY passive aggressive attitude "well we aren't a real restaurant...we just serve drinks like normal bars" extremely taken back on how rude this lady was. We just walked out after she laughed in our face. Will not try to come here ever again. Learn how to treat customers.
