I brought my visitor friends to the Domain Austin to experience the Rock Rose scene. Trendy rooftop patio has a great vibe and music, the crowded venue made it difficult to good customer service for drinks. Be cautious of your belongings, I lost my eyeglasses here never to be found.

This is the place to be in Austin for a night life. They have a large dance floor with the best light and ambience effects. It is spread across three levels and has a sufficient space for a large crowd. Their bar is a little pricier than others and give small servings. But overall a fantastic place to enjoy and have fun.

First time here and I had a good time. Drinks prices were a little high up there. I went on a saturday night, wasn't expecting to be as packed as I was thinking. 3 different rooftop levels each with their own little bar. Music was definitely on point. They have a food menu as well but dont order one Saturday. Hookah is also on the menu. Overall good time, I'd like to try it during the week.

Decent spot if you don’t mind standing the entire time you’re here, even if you order a hookah. I’ve never been to a spot where you order hookah at the bar and have to carry it yourself to your table. I told the bartender that there is nowhere to sit with the hookah and he told me that I can put it on the floor and sit by the water wall. I refused to do that because who would? He said I would have to stand until something opens up and that it’s first come first serve. Thankfully I only had to wait about 10 minutes until I found an open table. Filthy table, but open and my feet were grateful.

Went here with a group of friends. It was super hot so I don't recommend daytime drinking here. I truly was surprised about how expensive the fishbowl drink was. There was 4 of us and I think we each paid $13.

Cool hang out, but in the summer it's hot up there. We were there when nobody else was and it took forever to get our drinks, maybe we didn't look beautiful enough?

I've been here a few times and the drinks are almost never good but the area is nice and there is hookah. I tried to go yesterday on my birthday but ended up not going in because of a bouncer interaction. There is a roped line to get in (which is fine) but it does block half of the sidewalk. They also had a crowd of people standing outside of other bars, this effectively got rid of all walking areas in front of that bar. There was absolutely no line to get into this bar, nobody was in line or getting in line. The roped off section was entirely empty. My group and I were exhausted from trying to get past people to get in, so about halfway up, I go under the rope. The bouncer leaves his post, walks up to me and tells me I have to get in the back of the line. I said "nobody is in line" and he said "no. if you want to come in, you need to walk all the way to the back where those ropes are and come back up or I won't let you in." Literally on some kinda power trip over extra steps. Since it was literally my birthday and some man in control of who entered this club was on a power trip, I left the line (under the ropes again lol). I probably won't come back again despite it being one of the main bars I go to in the Domain. I already put up with bad tasting drinks for the atmosphere, but I'm not going to put up with bad tasting drinks and staff on power trips. I understand if he had walked up and told me I couldn't do that again and/or told me I couldn't get into the bar because I did that (if it was SOOOOO vital that nobody ever goes under the ropes) BUT he wanted me to walk all the way to the back and walk back up to the front or he would not let me in. That's a bit crazy. Other instances I have come to this bar, in the same bar line, I have seen girls go under the ropes to get in with their groups, and the bouncers did not do that to them. I haven't even seen bouncers say anything with extreme line skipping at this bar. People go under those ropes constantly. I have even seen bouncers at this bar let their friends get in without even going into the roped section. If this is supposed to be standard practice for the bouncers of the bar it may be beneficial to create a barrier people can't get under or have consistency with it.

This is the definition of trendy rooftop bar. You're going to find a very specific demographic here that wants to feel like they're living in Instagram. You'll find first come first seating in pseudo cabanas, swings, and a bar counter. There are lots of lights around the area at night. Music on the speakers is top 40 from years past and fairly mainstream bouncy music. House creation drinks are $14 while house shots are a shocking $10. You're here for atmosphere if you're here at all, because the drinks aren't memorable. Water comes in plastic cups instead of glasses. Try a different spot if you want good drinks, but if you just want pure vibe, this is an okay choice.

My friends and I have been patrons of Rose Room and 77° for years. These have been staples for us when we come to the Domain. For the last few years when the staff has become increasingly prejudiced. Last night, my friends and I had come with a group and only two of us were denied entry by the bouncers for no apparent reason than being "too drunk" at 10pm on 2/7/26. Two aggressive bouncers (We can call them Bert & Ernie because one was tall and one was short) pushed us when asking for an explanation or any measurable metric for this reasoning. After pushing us, they pulled the on-duty police officers over to speak. After speaking with them on the side, they had gone to the bouncers to also ask for clarification and could only say that we were being denied entry for the ambiguous reason. They did not want to administer a field sobriety test per our requests. Months before this, another friend was denied entry for wearing a certain type of sneaker (retailing $200 by the way). On another occasion, another friend was denied entry for wearing a sports jersey after watching a game at another bar in the domain. These are places that we would get bottle service at and spend money and free time. Rose Room and 77° has turned into places we used to love to places that seem to be the trashiest places to go to in Austin. Do better.

Extremely disappointed with our experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome and unfairly treated. After starting a tab and handing over a card—standard procedure—we were later told by our waitress that because our tab reached $90, she needed our driver’s license. However, we noticed no one else around us was asked for this, raising concerns of racial profiling. When we questioned Jacob about the policy, he claimed it’s standard once a tab hits $90. That’s hard to believe in such a busy venue where tabs regularly exceed that amount. The waitress was rude and inattentive, and the food didn’t make up for the poor service. To make matters worse, when we voiced our concerns, the general manager, Alyssa, came over to offer free shots as an apology. But we weren’t seeking free drinks—we just wanted fair and respectful service like every other guest. Would not recommend and will not return.
