Un’autentica perla nel cuore di Roma! Durante la nostra vacanza in quattro nella splendida Roma, non ci saremmo mai aspettati di trovare un ristorante nel pieno centro turistico capace di offrirci un’esperienza tanto genuina e appagante. I primi piatti sono semplicemente eccezionali: pasta fresca fatta in casa, una carbonara da sogno e un’amatriciana che resta nel cuore, entrambe esaltate da un pecorino romano di qualità superiore. Anche la carne è stata impeccabile, cotta alla perfezione e piena di gusto. Il tutto a prezzi da vera trattoria fuori porta, un dettaglio davvero raro da trovare in pieno centro storico. Nonostante la nostra prenotazione non risultasse nel loro carnet, il personale – sempre gentilissimo – ci ha fatto accomodare il prima possibile, evitandoci una lunga fila che, sotto le festività pasquali e in un sabato affollato, era davvero imponente. Con una gestione impeccabile, riuscivano comunque a far sedere i clienti in circa 20 minuti, mantenendo un ritmo perfetto senza mai far mancare attenzione e cortesia. La cordialità del titolare, della moglie e del nipote è d’altri tempi: ci si sente accolti, rispettati e coccolati. Un locale che non solo sfata i pregiudizi sui ristoranti turistici del centro, ma che rappresenta un esempio da seguire per tutti i ristoratori del mondo, per l’amore e la dedizione verso il cibo e la clientela. Complimenti davvero!

Il ristorante, il suo menu, la sua qualità, e specialmente il servizio di Nico e Francesco erano splendidi (e non da dimenticare: la playlist😉) . E Nessuno ti chiama in strada! Ringraziamo la capa Nubia per la qualità del ristorante così vicino al Colosseo.

In data 23/04/2023 ci siamo fermati in questo bellissimo locale a poca distanza dal Colosseo. Ci siamo trovati benissimo. Abbiamo preso: spaghetti aglio,olio e peperoncino, strozzapreti alla gricia, strozzapreti cacio e pepe e per finire strozzapreti alla amatriciana. Abbiamo mangiato davvero bene. I camerieri sono simpatici e cortesi. Servizio veloce, prezzo giusto. Consigliatissimo

We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant! We ordered the pistachio shrimp pasta, the seafood pasta, and a Margherita pizza — everything was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were well balanced, and the presentation was lovely. A special thanks to Alessandro, who provided excellent service and made our experience even better. Una cena davvero memorabile. Ogni portata è stata all’altezza delle aspettative, anzi le ha superate. Gli antipasti sono stati eccezionali, ricchi di sapore e presentati con grande cura. I primi piatti intensi e gustosissimi, mentre i secondi hanno confermato l’altissimo livello della cucina, con materie prime eccellenti e abbinamenti riuscitissimi. Il tiramisù consigliato è stato la ciliegina sulla torta: delizioso, equilibrato e assolutamente da provare. Servizio impeccabile: personale sempre gentile, attento e sorridente, pronto a guidarti nella scelta dei piatti e a farti sentire coccolato per tutta la durata della serata. Un ristorante che lascia il segno. Tutto perfetto, tornerò senza alcun dubbio!

Sono stato più volte in questo ristorante, e posso condividere la mia esperienza con cognizione di causa. Il servizio è rapido ed attento, i piatti che ho provato non mi hanno mai deluso, palline di formaggio, moscardini fritti, gricia cremosa, fettuccine pesto di pistacchio e gamberi, la loro cheesecake favolosa. Posso solamente dire di andare a provare e non rimarrete delusi. Ci vediamo presto.

Passati qui per caso abbiamo deciso di fermarci per cena. Esperienza eccezionale. Ravioli al pistacchio per me e carbonara per la mia signora. Veramente sublimi….Poi abbiamo provato la costoletta al pistacchio…meravigliosa I camerieri tutti gentili e organizzati. Un ringraziamento particolare a Seby. La mancia? Neanche hanno dovuto chiedermela. Bravi. Ritornerò.

Best meal I had in my 10 day trip to Italy!! And amazing service by Nico! Highly reccomend the bruscata appetizer and the grilled scampi. The swag food pasta was so fresh and tasty and the lasagna was to die for! Also super inexpensive

The food here is incredibly delicious, which is surprising since there’s a massive queue just around the corner. It’s only 3 minutes from the Colosseum and the prices are very reasonable—pretty much the same as anywhere else in Rome. The service is top-notch. I highly recommend the lasagna and the steak!

I spent in Roma almost 4 days and no doubt that this ristorante was the best experience. The best pizza I tried (Capriciosa with salami - iari is the name). Not only pizza was delicious but 5 my friends have the same experience. 6 star for food If I could!!! Big Thanks to the kitchen for food and for service as well - especially to Nico!!!

This was far and away the very best meal we had out of the entire time we were in Italy, a full month! We were seated right away, at a cozy table in the corner near the plants. There were heaters around keeping everything toasty. We ordered bruschetta, which is listed on the menu as mixed, but our waiter said he could bring us just the tomato bruschetta which we preferred. It was delicious and loaded with lots of tomatoes. Then my husband had the veal steak, which was cooked to perfection, and I had a margherita pizza, also delicious. We were too full for dessert, but they let us linger at the table for as long as we wanted, in true Italian style. We both LOVED this restaurant!

Dined here a year ago and had pizza. Did not like the pizza at all, but my friends had pasta and said it was delicious. Decided to give it another try. The pasta is indeed delicious and the seafood platter was also great. Maybe I just don’t vibe the Roman style of pizza (haven’t had pizza elsewhere in Rome to confirm), but I would not recommend the pizza here. Have pasta instead.

Amazing food and service! I had carbonara and my husband had the special which was a pistachio ravioli. The meat and cheese appetizer was delicious as well. We shared a wonderful tiramisu for dessert. Drinks were great. Highly recommend for a nice meal within walking distance of the colosseum!

This is quite simply the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in Rome ever ever ever. I had what may sound a rather dull dish - pasta with cheese and black pepper. However, it’s absolutely the Roman thing to have and I couldn’t have had a better pasta and cheese and black pepper experience if I dreamed it up myself, having taken a massive dream tablet. My son had a salmon pizza with some of the best quality smoked salmon I’ve ever experienced. The deserts were wonderful. I’ve just ordered a cappuccino which I sure will be equally fabulous. The waiter, Nico, really knows how to wait. He’s a lovely chap - very friendly - made us feel totally at home. We’ll be back tomorrow!

The food was exceptional. We shared a cheese board and bruschetta for starters that were all well considered. My wife had their carbonara and I had pistachio ravioli with crispy bacon. The ravioli was one of the best dishes I’ve had in Italy and we’ve spent about 2 months total here and visited both coasts.

We were looking for a restaurant. This was a great choice. The food was excellent. This place serves good pasta. I had the gnocchi. My friends had lasagna, pizza and ravioli. The food did not disappoint. We had excellent service. The manager sat us and the server, Alessandro, took great care of us. I will definitely try to come back before I leave.

It's very delicious. The service is very good. The seafood noodles and lamb chops are really delicious and affordable. I chose medium rare steak , but the iron plate was too hot. By the time I ate it, it was already cooked. I hope it could be improved. And when I checked out, another waiter swiped the card to give a 10% tip, my mother found it in time and cancelled it.

Ci siamo stati oggi dopo aver visitato il colosseo, nonostante il fatto che non avessimo prenotato e ci fosse un po’ di gente ad aspettare, nel giro di 10 minuti ci hanno fatto accomodare al tavolo. I piatti ordinati li hanno portati in tempi brevi ed erano molto buoni, buono anche il rapporto con il prezzo. Siamo stati molto soddisfatti e sicuramente ci torneremo.

Conto normale data la posizione ma anche la qualità delle portate Data l'affluenza x chi non piace aspettare forse è opportuno prenotare

Il ristorante è in un ottima posizione vicino al Colosseo. Il personale è stata molto gentile e cortese. I ravioli con pistacchi e guanciale croccante erano buonissimi e anche il tiramisù è stato molto apprezzato. Consigliato

Since it’s a tourist‑area restaurant near the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, it’s not cheap, but the food was good. The carbonara was a bit on the salty side, but the cheese was rich and well‑blended. The steak was 400 grams , literally just meat with the red vinegar sauce. It was lunchtime, so the place was packed with tourists, but the staff handled the crowd well and the service was generally fine.

This place had good food and decent service. We ordered the carbonara and vongole (spicy clam pasta), both were tasty but a bit overpriced. The wait for food was also quite long around 30+ minutes, so if you’re in a time crunch, I’d probably go elsewhere. Additionally, we were asked to tip when paying the bill, which is the first and only time this occurred during our trip in Italy. I gave 10% but I’m assuming this isn’t usual and targeted towards tourists.

Such a gem of an establishment close to the Colosseum. Amazing for a quick bite of lunch, with a menu that can accompany any requirement. Portion sizes are generous, and we really enjoyed our pasta and fried squid mains. I would highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area. P.S their WC is a mess… diners beware.

The place was sweet. We started with the cheese balls which were my favorite thing on the menu. They are a must. The cacio e pepe was delicious and so was the pizza. I expected more from the steak. However, we felt we were forgotten about quite often and our drinks came after 10 minutes when it was only coke and water. Some of the staff were also a bit rude.

Servis is good and friendly, atmosphere is good. Food wise order Carbonara - its better than normal but not the best, after a while may taste bit salty. Amatriciana - I feel the tomato sauce can be heavier a bit as this is more cheese taste, as after a while maybe taste heavy Pulpo carpacio - I feel grill would be better. Not to say its not good but could be better

We chose Ristorante Iari The Vino for lunch after visiting the Colosseum, encouraged by its high Google rating. There was a short queue at the entrance but we were seated promptly, and at first everything seemed promising. The staff — including the person who appeared to be the manager or owner — were friendly, and we ordered two pasta dishes, a mixed bruschetta and two cocktails, followed later by a tiramisu and a panna cotta. The experience changed completely when it came to the bill. The first bill included three desserts, even though we had ordered only two. As each dessert costs €8.50, we politely asked the waiter about this. His attitude shifted noticeably, but he said it was “just a mistake” and took the bill away to correct it. We remained calm — mistakes happen — and waited for the updated version. The second bill removed the extra dessert, but now included a €2 per person service charge. Again, the charge itself is not an issue. What concerned us was that this charge was not present on the first bill — the one with the incorrect dessert — and appeared only after we pointed out the error. When we asked for clarification, the manager/owner came over. We expected a simple explanation, but instead he immediately raised his voice and repeated that “it’s written in the menu”, insisting that the service charge is mandatory. We explained several times that we were not refusing to pay; we simply wanted to understand the inconsistency and why the first bill did not include the charge at all. He did not listen. He interrupted, spoke over us, and pretended not to understand the very straightforward question. When we asked him to bring back the first bill so we could show the difference, he avoided doing so, then eventually suggested — indirectly — that there had been another “mistake”. In other words, two errors: 1. an extra dessert added, 2. the service charge omitted. When asked whether two mistakes on a bill for just two people seemed normal, he dismissed the concern entirely and continued to insist that we “read the menu”. The aggressive behaviour and complete unwillingness to acknowledge obvious inconsistencies left a very negative impression. It was especially disappointing because the food itself was genuinely good — the pasta was flavourful, the cocktails were enjoyable, and the desserts were pleasant. We had expected to pay around €85 and were planning to leave €100 as a thank you for the good meal and to post a positive review. Instead, the afternoon was overshadowed by: • incorrect bills, • inconsistent charges, • an aggressive response, • and the strong impression that this pattern is intentional. Adding an unnecessary dessert without a service charge makes the increase less obvious. When the mistake is noticed, the dessert is removed and the service charge suddenly appears. This does not feel accidental. It is a shame, because the kitchen clearly knows how to cook — but the management’s behaviour completely spoiled our visit. For this reason, we cannot recommend this restaurant, despite the quality of the food.
