⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Drive-Through Service — Thanks to Manager Selena! I recently placed a drive-through order at Velvet Taco and had one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time — all thanks to Selena, the manager on duty. From start to finish she was courteous, professional, and genuinely helpful. Even though the drive-through was busy, Selena made sure every customer was acknowledged quickly and with a smile. She greeted me warmly, confirmed my order clearly, and checked that any special requests were noted correctly. What impressed me most was her positive attitude and how she remained calm and attentive throughout. Instead of rushing through the interaction, Selena took the time to make sure I felt valued and that my food was exactly what I wanted. It’s rare to see that level of care in a drive-through, and it made my day. Selena truly elevated the whole experience — great service like this keeps me coming back! 🌮🚗💫
First time at a Velvet Taco. Hands down the best tacos I’ve ever had. Since I had never been there I asked to lady at POS what she recommended and we built my combo based off her suggestions and she knew what she was talking about! After I ate, she came out and asked how everything turned out which was courteous. Great atmosphere too! Good music and clean place.
I had a great experience at Velvet Taco Round Rock today. I’ve been to the Domain location countless times over the years. While the menu is the same you can tell each location has a small tight knit team that prioritizes customer service. Every taco I’ve tried has been delicious but my top two are the fish and chips and chicken tikka. Don’t forget a slice of red velvet cake and be sure to ask about the “soup” 😝 10/10 would visit again
This VT location always has the best customer service! I’m here, either inside or at the drive through, at least every 6 weeks, and the management is top notch. I just left actually, with my customary rotisserie chicken taco. It’s delicious, and the red velvet cake is a must-try. We’ve held several small meet-ups here. The only bad thing I can say is that it’s sometimes too loud, but there is always the patio to use instead. It’s yummy and well priced and my go-to place in this part of Round Rock.
We love velvet taco! Jarley is so sweet and always takes good care of us! She makes sure my shrimp are well done for me !
If you haven't tried. You should. This place has so many great options. Great atmosphere-outside when it's nice and inside when the outside is full. Great choice every time! Queso is a MUST! You're welcome!
I was wonderfully surprised how good the food was. I absolutely loved the Korean Fried rice (pulled pork) 5 out of 5, but the grilled steak and portobello mushroom managed to be even better. I tasted my wife's blackened shrimp and will definitely try that next time. Loved, loved loved the food!
You will not regret eating here. I have had their nachos a few times which are really good but I went last night for tacos, chips and queso and all I gotta say is I'm going back today since I work in the area. Everything was AMAZING! Their food is just made different and it's all fresh ingredients. I don't know who owns this place or who came up with the recipes but it's not what you would expect. It's way better. And they have a really great staff there as well. Everyone is kind, fast and professional. Now, if you could just open up in Bell county, that'd be great! 😋😂
Velvet Taco's great, though you're paying perhaps a bit more than you'd expect for food that doesn't taste mass-produced/fast-food. Their rewards program's good and Tikka Tuesday's a good option for cheaper food if you like tikka masala and chicken tenders. Place is usually a bit crowded at lunch, but they have drive-through as an option, and the people are friendly. The weekly taco feature is hit or miss, but they have some occasional bangers and a few very weird "I have to try this once" tacos, usually around holidays. My favorite regular tacos are the Korean Fried Rice, the Chicken Tikka and the Mexi-Cali Shrimp. One major downside that may or may not impact you is that their gift cards just. do. not. work. properly via their app or their website, but never seem to have an issue at the physical locations. At least in my particular situation, trying to use my rewards I've earned and then pay with a gift card only to have it fail (and tried with 4 others that I bought both at Costco and at VT itself) is enough to make me just decide to forgo the order. Overall, I love the food. Eventually they'll get the gift card thing fixed I'm sure.
These tacos area amazing! An awesome late night food option! Tasty tacos that are well made and fresh. I am vegetarian so I ordered from the veggie menu and it was delicious. You must get the Cauliflower Taco. The portions are small so you need to eat 2-3 to fill yourself up but overall it’s an excellent place to eat.
These to-go pictures don’t do justice to the incredible flavors packed into every taco I ordered! It was my first time here, and I was beyond impressed—not just by the authentic taste but also by the fast, friendly service. For the price, these tacos are unbeatable! Highly recommend if you’re craving real Mexican tacos!
I am beyond excited that a velvet taco is close by now I don’t have to go to San Antonio to get tacos! There are no complaints the customer service was amazing. The cashier was patient and attentive to my request. We had no leftover and wanted to order more. If I just say anything Velvet Tacos can be addictive. The flavors that pop out of the sauces are a 100 with me. They understood I have severe food allergies the cashier made sure they didn’t put any tomato’s in my food. Not a long wait for food I would say maybe 5-7 minutes. I met some nice customer we all laughed together saying how great the food quality is. If you haven’t had velvet tacos you’re missing some food stuff. Taco fans let’s get on this velvet taco it’s 100 out of 100 for me.
Ordered to pick up thankfully because it was very busy inside (understandably now that I've tasted the tacos) but even with being busy our order was done on time maybe only took 15 minutes during dinner time. This was my first time eating these tacos and honestly at first looking at the menu I was not sure how it was gonna go but they were so delicious. I got the chicken and waffle which definitely mixed sweet and salty with the taste of the sweet waffle taco and mixed with a syrup sauce and coleslaw. I also got the picnic chicken which was good but hard to compete with my new fav chicken and waffle.
Velvet Taco in Round Rock delivers a creative twist on tacos that totally works. The menu is super unique – everything from spicy tikka chicken to Korean fried rice tacos – and somehow they all hit the mark. The ingredients taste fresh, the flavors are bold, and the portions are generous without being over the top. I also love that they have vegetarian options and late-night hours. Service was fast, even during the lunch rush. The vibe inside is laid-back and artsy, perfect for a casual meal or a quick bite with friends. Don’t skip the red velvet cake for dessert – it’s dangerously good. Highly recommend if you're looking for something different from your standard taco joint. Will definitely be back!
This is our third visit and we will definitely be coming back. I was reminded of this place because my company got catering from this place and I had a couple of their unique tacos and said that I would give it another try. I got the chicken tikka bowl, we also got the smashburger, birria Duo, and chicken and waffles. The favorite was the birria tacos and the smashburger. This definitely is not a place to get authentic tacos. These are worldly inspired tacos that have a lot of different flavors that go along with their tacos. Come with that mindset and you want to be disappointed. My wife really liked the curry queso with the blue chips. This was definitely very good and unique to a taco place.
We stopped here late at night after a football for a bite of food. The service was good, the food was great and we enjoyed eating outdoors. The tables did need a bit of cleaning outdoors, but we found one that wasn't too bad and sat down. The tacos were amazing. I definitely recommend the chicken and waffle taco. I've eaten at the Velvet Taco in the Domain but never at this location. The food was fantastic 😋
I heard a lot about this place and decided to give it a shot today. The menu has a lot of variety but I was interested in the pork quesadilla tacos They come 2 to a order You can buy the combo with your choice of a side and a drink for $14. I believe just 2 tacos with consome seven dollars. So there’s a drive up here, but you can’t order from the menu you can look at it. My advice would be to order from the app and just go to the drive-through and pick it up or you can order directly from the drive-through window. My server was polite, Maribel I think was her name And of course they have the good old iPad where you could pay with your credit card and of course they flip it back to you asking for a tip which everybody uses these days so the default 20% pops up, no thanks I left a custom $1 dollar cause I’m not sure what I’m even getting. I hate that you have to tip before you know how good the services or the food ridiculous anyways. I was told to pull up to the front and park at one of the pick up stalls and after about five minutes, my food was brought out to me and I was on my way. I didn’t end up buying two orders which was for tacos and it should’ve been 2 cups of the liquid dipping juice consume but they combined it into one container for tacos and one bowl did I get cheated a bowl maybe?. So first off if I was gonna eat in my car luckily I wasn’t no napkins no forks nothing just the container of food and that’s it luckily at home. I have these things if I need them.. Tacos were kind of small there were some pickled onions and inside the taco itself, which look like a fresh homemade corn tortilla was cheese and of course the pork I’m visualizing all the TikTok’s. I’ve seen of Quesabilleria with beef, gooey cheese, cilantro, and onions, but this wasn’t the case tacos weren’t really hot. They were kind of soggy not really fresh as I thought they would be or grilled totally different experience. Maybe I’m in the wrong location the wrong place If you want true quesabilleria there’s this taco truck type place off Grand Ave. Parkway in Pflugerville that makes an awesome taco. So obviously four tacos is more like a lunch item. They weren’t really big not that filling I ate three of them and would I buy it again probably not because I wasn’t really blown away. I did like the fact that the corn tortilla seemed like they were made fresh, which is a plus these days, but I think more filling of pork would’ve been nice as you can see with the pictures overall I may try a few different things next time but for a quick service and something different I would definitely recommend giving them a shot. The sides seem pretty interesting. Maybe next time three out of five stars rating. Value for your money 2 out of 5! .
Ordered a variety of tacos and it was hit and miss. I did find one taco to be very tasty, the fish and chips. I’d definitely be back for that again. I Ordered a buffalo chicken taco, and it had almost no chicken. They sort of just put extra sauce, so it was in essence a buffalo sauce taco. And for it costing $5 It was disappointing. We Got there a 10:20pm and was told they were closing at 11, which we knew but it did make us feel like we were being rushed out. Also they bagged everything Togo which I thought was really wasteful but the employee stated it was to save them dishes. So not very environmentally friendly.
The first time I’ve ever had Velvet Taco was in Atlanta. Loved it! So, you can imagine I was thrilled to find that they are scattered all over Austin. I drove the hour from Temple to purchase a couple of slices of their famous red velvet cake. I was a quarter of the way through the first slice before finding something long and crunchy inside🤢 And the dulce de leche sauce that came with the second slice tasted like cumin. Someone must have used the same spoon for tacos and cake prep. This is really unfortunate. I spent two hours in the car (round trip) for two crappy slices of cake. Not cool.
