This place is magical, service is phenomenal, and they perfectly hosts very large parties. First visit and will now be a go to for special occasions and when the Greek fancy hits me. The owner and family are great folks with big hearts and generous hospitality.

Yum, yum, and yum! This place has fantastic Greek food. There are a variety of sampler plates to choose from. It was raining when we went but they have a really nice patio. Be sure to get the dolma. They are lemony bright with minty freshness. They were playing the 80's when we were there. The staff is attentive, and the food is unforgettable. Plan for lots of leftovers and get dessert!

Greek food is a cuisine that I'm really getting into lately. I've noticed this place every time I pass through and I finally gotten around to trying, and it is really unique and great! This is the first Greek restaurant (for me to find) salmon on their menu, and it was wonderful! It came with a side plate of rice, green beans, potato wedges and pita, and all together it was a well balanced meal. For my drink, I had the cucumber limeade, and it was refreshingly delicious! For dessert I couldn't have said no, so I went for the Russian Napoleon. It was sweet, yet fulfilling. And for the closing of my meal, I had a Greek coffee and it was excellent!

Long overdue on this review. My wife and I stopped in for a little date night. Many times when we stopped by Opa is packed, with such great food it is hard to find them with tons of empty tables. the food is good, the service is great and the owner puts his heart into everything he does. We really enjoyed ourself and the food. I was a huge fan of the Greek Coffee, it is something that you can really zit and "chew the mudd" on at the end of the meal. Great for a finish to a great meal.

Always pass by this place and never stop by, until today and it was the best decision and place to eat at. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted by all the employees With a friendly welcome and with smiles. We decided to eat outside since it was a beautiful day outside, the patio dining area was clean and nicely decorated. Our waitress had blue eyes and her customer service skills were great and was very polite. We had asked for strawberry lemonade and she told us that they didn't have any so we just got regular lemonade... As soon as we got our drinks our lemonade were reddish pink, she told us that she added strawberry syrup and it tasted amazing!! she literally went out of her way just make our drinks when she didn't even have to. We ordered the calamari and the calamari was good with good breading, we also ordered the chicken and shrimp souvlaki plates, with some feta fries and and potatoes..... Those feta fries are a 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 best fries i haver ever had in my life. Overall everything was delicious, from costumer service, appetizer, main dishes, drinks, and desserts. I'm for sure coming back👌👍 amazing spot and highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great food. It was fresh and tasted amazing! The food was flavorful. The gyro was well seasoned and everything was fresh! The vegetables and pita included. Sometimes, when you get a gyro from someone, if they don’t know what they’re doing, the gyro can be dry. Not this place. Also, the feta fries were really good too. They had some awards and articles on the wall and with out even having tried much on the menu, I see why. The baklava was also very tasty. Just the right amount of sweetness, stickiness and flake. We will return.

Love me some Greek food! Had recently dined next door at I Love Pho restaurant and saw this Greek Tavern we wanted to try soon. Couple weeks went by and I needed to meet my Italian Friend Vito for business. We were looking for someplace in between Allen Texas and Mesquite. This was about in the middle being in Rowlett. So we met there. Great place, cool vibe. Awesome menu. Tried the Calamari and Garlic Feta Wings appetizers. Can't go wrong with calamari. I ordered a Gyro with feta fries. Vito had a wrap. So many good stuff on the menu but we were so engrossed in talking business that just ordered what was easy. Gyro was a large portion of meat but a bit dry and fries were more the shoestring size. Good but not my fave. Vito liked his wrap. The Greek beer was wonderful. So this was a perfect place to talk and enjoy the food. Will bring the wife here soon. I asked the server how business was and he said slow. That is ashame.. If it Was nearby to us, we would dine regularly. Look online and check out the menu. I am dying to try some of the combination platters. Maybe this weekend?

I've been here a few times and everytime the food was delicious! The lamb gyros are so good. Staff is nice and friendly as well. Can't wait to try other items on the menu

The actual seating area in the restaurant is kind of small compared to some Greek restaurants I have been to. There is a bar area at the entrance, and then there are options for table of booth. We were waiting for some friends so we ordered something to drink and looked over the menu. The waitress was nice, however, it took a while to get our drinks. Overall, she didn't check on us very much, so that prolonged ordering our food. As an appetizer, we chose the fried zucchini. It was good. I ended up getting the Mahi Mahi. The fish was cooked very good and the flavors went together well. My husband got a wrap with a side roasted potatoes and Greek lima beans. He didn't care for the beans. The potatoes were good. I ended up ordering dessert to go (I should have checked to make sure it was the correct thing), when we got back and later sat down to eat it, I got the wrong dessert so that was upsetting. I find it took way too long to get the attention of the waitress. Another thing that irritated me was the fact that they added a "large party gratuity" on our bill. It was just 4 people! I don't mind tipping people but that was way more tip for the actual service we received. We went, we tried it, and probably won't go back.

Let me start by saying gyros are always delicious!!! Now I don't recommend going in on a Sunday evening. I'm not sure what was going on but service was super slow (we were 1 of 3 tables), the lamb kabob was so over cooked I could only manage to eat a couple of pieces.... I will stick to gyros from now on.... The rice pilaf was delicious lamb not so much

overpriced! Food is mediocre at best. I only tried then once, but that was enough for me. I go to Arby's down the street who have better gyros and more reasonable prices.

We previously used to dine here. After ordering from here on ubereats and being ripped off for completely outrageous sky high mark ups on the menus items and small portions we will never order or return to Opa again. Their greed is out of this world. Plenty of better options in the area.

If I could give zero stars for food and service I would. I went to Opa (Rowlett) Friday, October10th on my way from a full day of medical tests.. I placed a to go order for chicken souvlaki and fries. The restaurant wasn't busy. It took at least 15-20 minutes to receive my order with an apology for taking so long. The fries with no cheese curds were cold and the chicken souvlaki was inedible. The "help wanted" sign should have been was warning. There were 3 young females in the kitchen area talking. I will NEVER go back to this place. I will also recommend to others not to patronize this place.
