I love photographing weddings at Firehouse in Old Sacramento! The moment you step into that romantic private courtyard, you just know it’s going to be a magical night. It gives so much privacy and can make even a larger event feel intimate. The historic charm of the venue gives every photo so much character, and being just steps away from so many gorgeous spots in Old Sacramento makes getting beautiful shots a total breeze. And can we talk about the food? Seriously, it’s amazing...guests (and photographers!) are always raving. The Firehouse team is fantastic, making the day feel effortless, fun, and full of love. If you want a wedding that’s beautiful, delicious, and full of memories, this place is an absolute dream.

This place was absolutely everything we hoped it would be. We tried the pork belly for an appetizer and it was wonderful. My wife had the Caprese salad and I think 16 oz aged ribeye. The portions are well worth the cost. The black garlic butter is a perfect compliment to the steak. The atmosphere is laid back but the wait staff and dining room are very formal. Our waiter James was very friendly, polite, smiled a lot and was a great help with our dining experience. We will be back for sure!

Service was great, drinks were great, food was good. The cesar salad was so good, the lobster mac and cheese was decadent and delicious. The tomahawk steak was cooked perfectly, mashed potatoes just needed a little more seasoning as well as the vegetables. The strawberry/pistachio tart was great way to end the meal.

We really enjoyed our food and experience here. Server was on point. I forgot to ask his name. We ordered the Chilean sea bass & New York steak. The soufflé is a must try! Wife really likes the wine. I’m more of a 2 buck chuck kind of guy where I can’t taste the difference 🤣.

My husband and I dined at Firehouse on a Friday evening and it was an absolute delight! Our waiter was courteous and knowledgeable, he helped us select a delicious Napa Merlot to go with our meal. I got the lamb and my husband got the filet mignon with the lobster oscar - both were beautifully plated and scrumptious. We ended it with the soufflé dessert, a definite showstopper. Highly recommend this spot for a date night or special occasion!

Impossible to know from the exterior how beautiful it is inside. The Maitridee offered to take our coats upon arrival, placed our napkins on our laps, followed by a myriad of servers with drinks, water, food etc. Jacob, James & Bryan stood out as professional, polite, and friendly at the same time. I ordered the Price Fixe ($125) meal of Caesar Salad, Rib Eye & dessert, all delicious. Accompanied by the Firehouse Flight of Wine, it was perfect! Certainly not everyday dining at the price, but a great treat for us, and highly recommended!

Don't miss this if you're looking for fine dining in Sacramento. The food could have been a little better, but still very good. The menu has good selections. Impeccable service and atmosphere.

Chose this place to celebrate New Year's Eve with a friend. My first time here. Did find out after the reservation that the restaurant was offering only a fixed menu for $195 pp. I still kept the reservation and was happy I did. This is quite a fancy restaurant for Old Town Sac, as this part of Sacramento is made up mostly fast food, bars and gift shops. The restaurant let me know parking would be tricky, as most of Old Town is blocked for the night. Got it on time and at the front, they have coat service, great idea! Staff was super friendly and on-point. Great 5 course meal. Never felt rushed, as we spent about 3 hours here. This is a white table clothe restaurant that is kept well maintained. My only complaint: No information on the website about a cork fee.

I wasn't super excited about the duck. It was ok. I am gluten-free and they were exceedingly accommodating to my needs and very conscientious of everything they brought to the table. Great atmosphere and had heard great things. Unfortunately, food doesn’t match ambience. Tried lobster Mac and cheese and not any on butter as from the south, but this was just not edible and left most of it. Ordered ravioli and corn tasted like it was from a can. New York steak requested as medium rare and was overcooked. But what was disappointing (I always give grace as a former server in fine dining), but server just seemed unhappy to be there and really also offset experience. Cannot recommend and hope that kitchen fixes inconsistencies in menu.

Unfortunately, The Firehouse was a real disappointment—especially after reading so many great reviews and hearing it described as a Sacramento institution and one of the city’s top steakhouses. It started off on the wrong foot with a “pre-appetizer” that was literally a single, tiny slice of cucumber. That was honestly awkward. In 2026, at an upscale restaurant, this felt careless and almost insulting rather than thoughtful. The Firehouse Beef Tartare Cannoli just didn’t work. When you order beef tartare, you want to taste the meat. Instead, everything was taken over by a hard, flavorless cannoli shell that was unpleasant to bite into and didn’t add anything positive. The meat itself was fine, but nothing special, and the dish as a whole missed the mark. The baked potato was another letdown—very basic and outdated, like something you’d expect decades ago. A few burnt broccoli pieces on the plate didn’t help. Overall, it felt like a mediocre steak surrounded by sides that added no value. The atmosphere didn’t help either. The service felt rushed and impersonal, more like a fast-paced restaurant than a high-end steakhouse. On top of that, the dining room itself was cold, as if the heat wasn’t on, which made the experience uncomfortable. Dessert ended the night on a low note. The crème brûlée tasted old and bland and honestly just finished the meal on a bad note. Even the birthday touch felt off—the “Happy Birthday” message was printed on the plate, not handwritten. I’ve never seen that anywhere before, and it felt cheap and impersonal. I did enjoy the artwork throughout the restaurant, but overall this experience fell far short of many other steakhouses I’ve been to that do everything better. I can’t justify giving this place more than one star without insulting truly great steakhouses. My friends felt the same way.

Very disappointing experience. Started out good, but quickly went sour. At least 3 tables directly around us were seated well after we arrived. They received their food and we were left waiting for at least half an hour more. We were told there were “delays in the kitchen” while clearly meals were coming out. Once we got our food, it was not cooked to request. Got a ribeye steak medium. It came out RARE and so gummy and chewy. Gross. If you pay $86+ for a single steak, you expect to get a nice steak, NOT what was served. We waited an hour for that? Unacceptable. Requested a birthday cake and were completely ignored and just brought the check. Bathrooms unkept and need a remodel looked like there were chipped paint and mold on the ceiling. When you come to a place like this and shell out this much cash for a dinner, you expect more. Will not be returning and definitely not recommending.
