Great service and fresh dumplings. Perfect for a quick bite before a movie at the Crest theater. A must eat place with quality ingredients 😊
Stopped in just to fill my belly before a concert and had the BEST dumplings and scallion pancake I've ever eaten! And the fried sweet buns were to die for! Not to mention the incredibly friendly folks that helped us. I will make sure to stop in every chance I get!
Came here looking for cheap food in the area and while the price met our wishes, the flavor blew us out the water. My only regret is not getting more food to take home. The house sauce for the dumplings is a delicious spicy sweet masterpiece. The hot buns with the condensed milk was something I never knew I needed in my life. On top of great quality, service was good too. Man working in front was nice and held a conversation with us and even scared the daylight out of us when he made a joke about how we can't get out food because we didn't save the tag. All in all this was a fantastic experience and I'll definitely be coming back
Highly recommend this spot! Affordable pricing for tasty dumplings, it’s a win-win! I hade the pork-chive dumplings, 12 come in a order so they are enough to fill you up. The employee who helped my friends and I was kind, the restaurant is spacious enough to sit down and enjoy your food :)
Even though the dining room is not my favorite part of the experience, I love it. The food is good. The young gentleman who works there alone at dinner time handles the cooking and customer service very well. I have to give an additional star just for him! I'll return and try more on their menu next time.
Came in on a whim and I’m glad I did! The pan-fried beef dumplings were great! Loves the house sauce and the spicy chili sauce, too. Came out hot and fast with friendly service. And it’s a great deal, very affordable for plenty of food.
I love the crispy, flavorful pan-fried pork & chive dumplings with house sauce. The folks that own/run this location are always very cheerful and pleasant to interact with. The store has always been clean and inviting with enough seating for the lunch crowd. Highly recommend giving them a try if you're in the area and looking for a tasty dumpling.
Best dumplings in the Sacramento and surrounding location. The dumplings are tender, bouncy, tasty and savory and Hao Bao house dipping sauce is worth giving the location many visits in it of itself. Their gua bao aka "Chinese taco" is out of this world, the flavors are so rich silky, sweet and savory! The atmosphere is serene, love the sleek and clean minimalistic style. Well done, 100% recommend!
Wrapped up a weekend visit to Sacramento and decided to grab a quick bite before leaving for the airport. Soo, soo happy we stopped at Hao Bao Dumplings - the restaurant was clean, bright and the staff were very friendly. We ordered the pork dumplings pan-fried per recommendation of our server. She brought them outside to us with a big, happy smile on her face and even came back later to check-in to see if we needed anything else. The pork dumplings were cooked to perfection - crispy, hot, juicy and packed with flavor. Make sure you try the chili oil -soo phenomenally yummee, great flavor with the perfect kick of heat. The portion was generous, so glad we chose to share an order, we both left with very happy, full bellies. Wish we had discovered this place earlier in our visit so we could have tried more of the dishes. Being a life long dumpling fanatic, I can happily say that Hao Bao is definitely one of my top five dumpling places.

The dumplings had thick wrappers, and while the beef and pork chive flavors were ordinary, the portion size justified the price. The savory and spicy chili sauce complemented the dish well, while the sweet sesame sauce added a pleasant contrast.
Food was amazing! The portions are bigger than they appear in the pictures, which is rare to get more food than you would assume. It has been a very long time since I received customer service that great! The lady there went above and beyond and was soo nice! Only down side is parking in the area is not ideal, but that has nothing to do with the restaurant itself. Please try this place you will love it!
I highly recommend the Beijing Noodle. The taste of the pork belly and texture of the handmade noodles makes this dish deliciously authentic! Not to mention a generous portion at the relatively affordable price of ~$17.
Oh man- came in for lunch and left a changed person. My mom wanted dumplings and I wanted a bao bun and we got both of what we wanted. What a beautiful staff and what a great place to be! Thank you again to the staff! Everything was delicious!
Stumbled upon it this weekend. The price point was great for the quality and quantity they give you. I shared their dumpling soup and the bao tacos and were full by the end of our meal. We liked it so much we tried to go back after our night out but sadly didnt make it on time. Highly recommend!
These dumplings are delicious and incredibly priced. I showed up shortly before closing and they were happy to make me dumplings. Great customer service and great food.

If you haven’t eaten here haven’t heard about this place or never said to yourself after a delicious meal Haoooooo baooo! You’re missing out. The dumplings, noodles, broth and everything else here is so flavorful and full of depth. I feel like Hao Hao doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. This place is fire. 🔥 The kind human up front is very cool too!
If you're a dumpling lover, Hal Bao Dumpling on K Street in Sacramento might just hit the spot, though it's a mixed experience overall. Let’s start with the food. We kicked things off with the spring rolls, and wow—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly satisfying. The House Chow Mein was equally impressive, a nice balance of savory goodness. But the dumplings? Well, they were a bit underwhelming. They lacked the depth of flavor you'd hope for, more like a meatball wrapped in wet dough than the juicy, flavorful dumpling experience I was hoping for. Thankfully, the house and sesame sauces helped elevate the flavor, adding some much-needed zest to each bite. Now, for the ambiance—let’s just say it's a no-frills setup. The restaurant could definitely use some visual upgrades, and food arrives on a cafeteria tray with paper plates. Not exactly a five-star dining experience, but if you’re in the mood for dumplings and happen to be in the area, this spot can certainly scratch that itch. Hal Bao Dumpling is a good, casual choice for when you're craving dumplings—just don’t expect much more than that!
I was at the Crest Theater for an event and didn't want popcorn or candy. Searching for what was nearby, I decided to go to Hao Bao. I walked in and was greeted with a touch screen ordering system. Call me old fashioned, but it's a little weird to have zero human interaction when ordering from a restaurant. Usually you have the option of talking to the employees, but it seemed to me like my only option was touch screen or ring the bell for help. I placed my order, struggled with inserting my debit card the correct way (I really am getting old!) and then sat down to wait for my order. I wondered to myself, what if I wanted to pay cash? How will I know when my order is ready? What if it were really crowded and lots of people ordered the same thing, how would they know who gets what?? After about 7 minutes, a man came out holding a bag and either said my name, or said "12 pork dumplings" (I don't remember which). When I looked at the receipt, it had my name printed on it, it must have been pulled from my debit card. The dumplings were fantastic, delicious, and piping hot. The house sauce was a little bit tangy, also delicious. If I lived in Sacramento I'm sure I would be going here all the time; but the futuristic no-contact ordering is still a little weird to me.
Tasty, cheap, but very small variety. Their menu consists of 4 types of dumplings: vegetables, pork, beef, chicken (8/16pcs)- can be boiled or pan fry, soup with noodle and dumplings or just noodle. That's it! No salads, no appetizers, no dessert, no hot green tea- nothing more. There were a plenty of free sauces and lemon water there. Small narrow space inside. Good for 2 visitors, complicated for bigger company. We were only customers at 6pm on Friday, paid $13 for 3 portions of 8pcs dumplings, and waited about 15min. Dumplings were good. All other stuff you serve by yourself from the table at the corner. When we were leaving about 10 people were inside. In my opinion this is a good place for lunch or fast eating but not for dinner or to sit with friends.

If I were only rating this on the food, I would give 4 stars. Food: I had the spring rolls and pork fried dumplings. Spring rolls were great and I loved the sauce combo, if a bit messy. The pork fried dumplings were a little thick and could have used more flavor. The house sauce with them was great- so definitely get a dipping sauce. Ambience: I walked in for dinner on a weeknight and used the self service ordering. Seems like staff was at a minimum. I was barely into my meal before a homeless man came and sat at the table across from me. His pants were part way off and he made me extremely uncomfortable. The employee working cleared other plates but didn’t say anything to him, so I got up and left the rest of my meal.

ordered uber eats - a chicken roll and what they sent me is like some kind of really disgusting prank. it's wilted like it's been sitting for days and it's freezing cold tried to call someone. they dont answer the phone also they put like....an enter chicken in here... which normally would be great except it's ice cold, no carrot, no cilantro, really nasty

I saw the great reviews and was hoping for a good experience. There was nobody to greet us. The food came out in paper plates you would find at a youth football game instead of the advertised bowls. Not all the food was cooked despite selecting hot for the noodles. The peppers weren’t grilled. It was a disappointment honestly. I was looking forward to some good dumplings. I would recommend the egg rolls but nothing else really.
