Can we talk Italian excellence here! From the wonderful and personal service to the excellent wine list, you won’t be disappointed with this small intimate restaurant! We went for the special Valentines menu seating and enjoyed every bite of the amazing selections! A huge shout out to Marco, for the personal touch and the stop by our table to talk about our wine selction and the Barolo wine region! We loved every minute of our experience! Don’t forget the macchiato to finish up your night! Thank you for making our Valentine’s special!

This was an amazing experience. Veneto’s staff did everything they could to make the dinning experience exceptional and the birthday more memorable. The service was timely, the knowledge of the staff was exceptional. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Had the opportunity to visit VENETO (4th East 9th South in SLC) this week and had a truly fantastic meal! Charcuterie board to start, panzanella salad and then braised beef pasta, which was so good that I forgot to take a picture! Amazing service, ambiance, food and wine. Can't wait to return.

Phenomenal service, food, and overall experience. My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here and it made for a perfect night. The patio area is simple but elegant and the food is absolutely delicious. Months later and we still are talking about how incredible that waygu steak was. This is definitely on the pricier side but the service and mouth watering food made it all worth it. The staff even gave us a cute anniversary desert for free. Highly recommend going here for any special dates or occasions.

Update March 2025- 5 stars! What an incredible experience here. We came here for our good friend's birthday and we had a party of 9. Our other friend contacted the owners and they offered to make a curated menu according to my friends' budget. It was absolutely amazing, the flavors were incredible, and the hospitality is unlike any other place we have been to. True Italian establishment ♥️ and to top it off, they do not accept tips as that is offensive in Italy. We will be back time and time again! And of course, the best wine list you can find! Really lovely experience at Veneto for my birthday! Such a cute, fancy, and quaint atmosphere. The staff is excellent! Big wine selection and great beef tartare. I haven't liked beef tartare before until I tried theirs. In terms of flavor profiles, I wish there were more sauces and flavors with the dishes but that isn't the true Italian way from what I understand, so I don't hold it against them. Very authentic. They also gave me a box of delicious house-made almond cookies that I LOVEDDDD. Definitely worth a try. Super romantic.

I have been wanting to try this place for years, and it did not disappoint! The portions are small, but all of the foods are super unique and flavorful. My personal favorites were the tartare, gnocchi, tortellini, and affogato. The gnocchi was so creamy and smoky, I've never tasted anything like it. They have some kind of special smoky flavor they add that (I think) is from Italy. The server described it much better, lol. The affogato... probably the best I've ever had. They add a crunchy cake to it, in addition to the espresso and ice cream that make it so unique. I will definitely be back to try other items after I sell my left kidney for some extra spending money. (Joke)

Exceptional Italian restaurant open on Sunday. Great date night spot. I will definitely be back.

This is where you can go in Salt Lake City to enjoy a seasonally updated tasting menu with wine pairings that is always excellent. Of course the regular menu is wonderful as well and the extensive wine list is full of bottles I’ve not seen anywhere else in Utah. There’s no other place like Veneto around here. I’ll also note that I have some food allergies which can be difficult to navigate, but they’ve always easily modified the dishes for me if necessary.

Excellent dining experience. Come here to enjoy an Italian dining experience. The Service, atmosphere, wine selection and food are all top notch. If you are looking to blast through a meal this is not the place. If you are looking to sit back and enjoy everything Veneto has to offer come check it out, set aside a few hours sit back and have fun. You will not be disappointed

This is definitely a next level higher end dining experience. From the greeting at the door(the host was waiting to open the door for us) till we left(the server waited to help put on our jackets) the experience was impeccable. Definitely do the full course meals experience with the wine pairing. I’ve been here before and did the a la cart option and I so much more enjoyed myself. It’s expensive but it’s an experience for the tastebuds and will leave you feeling satiated and very satisfied. Ever course was super tasty and interesting and the service was top notch. You have to experience this for yourself.

Authentic!!! Food, people, and ambiance were above and beyond!! We didn't have reservations and they made a space for us. We sat on the front porch for a perfect, private dinner for our first night in Salt Lake City. Staff was extremely attentive and made wonderful recommendations! Every bite was delicious!

Small, cozy little Italian restaurant serving up delicious food with excellent service. They offer an a la carte menu as well as a tasting menu. I wish we could have done the full tasting menu, but we just tried a number of the pastas. The burrata and Parma ham was excellent, and all the pastas were had were great too...really enjoyed the cacio e pepe. The service was very attentive, authentic and friendly. The food was a bit slow coming out...but was not a bother...just beware if your looking for a fast meal. Wine lust was quite extensive and plenty of by the glass options too. There was 3 tables outside on the porch, but were booked all night. We ate inside which was cozy. Would definitely go back and would like to try a lot more.

Simply a great overall experience. Dining here felt like visiting an old friend in Italy. The food was absolutely incredible. Each dish and every flavor was on point. My wife and I had several courses of gnocchi, polenta, and Spaghetti, finished with the Black Angus sirloin and tomahawk ribeye. The piedmontese tomahawk was simply the best steak I've ever had: cooked perfectly and presented with a small dish of salt on the side as all good steaks should. The service was impeccable and really contributed to the experience. The atmosphere was cozy and personable. Highly recommended. The next time I visit, I'll be enjoying the full tasting menu selection.

Can't recommend this place enough! It's an Italian treasure in Salt Lake City by Marco & Amy Stevanoni! 👏🏻 Would highly recommend going through the 7 course tasting menu! Fresh seasonal ingredients and my favorite from my visit in the spring was the duck ragu bigoli pasta, the meat tartare and the amazing homemade apricot tart 😋 Go try it! Perfect for a date with your lover! ❤️

Wow. We had the most pleasant night we have had in the longest time here at Veneto. Service was excellent and the food and atmosphere was simply perfection. We didn't do the set tasting menu but i almost wished we did! Definitely will be coming back here to dine again. Thank you so much for everything.

WOW! VENETO raises the bar for Italian restaurants in Salt Lake City. In an area with more Italian restaurants than gas stations VENETO manages to stand out as an amazing and one-of-a-kind experience, and that's no simple feat. Every aspect of the dining experience is simply amazing from the service to the presentation and most importantly the food & wine. If you're already an Italian wine & food expert you'll appreciate the authenticity and talent clearly present in all of their dishes. If, like me, you are rather new to fine Italian dining and wine you'll surely appreciate their staff who is extremely knowledgeable. We were here for 3 hours and it still felt like time was flying by simply because we were enjoying ourselves so much. If VENETO fits in to your budget, go, I promise you won't regret it.

The meal was delicious and each dish had some level of complexity. The staff was super friendly and helpful in helping us decide on dishes. We ordered the tartare, pecorino ravioli, gnocchi, and red snapper and each dish was delicious. The plates were decently sized so think twice before ordering each course for each person - unless you're really hungry.

Very warm and welcoming environment. Love how they have personal tou6to every thing. Their service is excellent so does their food. Being vegetarian I am very picky on what I like and very much thoughtful about representation of dish. This place is a delight when it comes to taste and excellent when it comes to presentation. Love it. Best Italian food in the town.

I have to say WOW! This has to be one of the best restaurants in salt lake. We’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile, so glad we did. From start to finish everything was amazing!! My husband and I wanted a nice dinner to celebrate and I am so happy we went here. We ordered the polenta starter which was really good. Then we got gnocchi and bolognese, best we’ve had anywhere. Then we had to get the steak and branzino... we couldn’t resist. Dessert was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Massive wine list and was recommended a red wine that was the best Italian wine I’ve ever had. Service was great, we can’t wait to go back!

We had the Valentine's day special. I have to say that the best part of this was the wine. I'm not a big fan of wine however all four wines that were parked with this four course meal were delicious. They truly know their wines. The food was good too. The crepe was deliciously filled with mushroom, the pasta was al dente and the meat sauce was generous. The apple tart was also really good the crust was soft and crunchy. What I didn't like was the fish. There were some parts that were overcooked and some parts that were basically raw. I had only seen that with tuna and not with a white fish so I'm confused. Overall with the wine it was a great meal.

From the small snack to stimulate your pallet to folding your napkin when you get up and making sure the bathroom is always like you’re the first to use it- they don’t miss a beat. I love the gnocchi and the wine selection is incredible. One con is the last time we were there, the steak was very bland and tough.

Unbelievable service. Like the best fine dining experience I’ve ever had. Truly an incredible experience. The owner himself came over to our table, talked about the dishes he curated, and the thought behind them. Absolutely amazing experience. The best food I’ve ever had. We’ve gone here again and again and it never disappoints, or lets down. It’s a very intimate restaurant, tables and space are limited, which makes the atmosphere even better. I’ve traveled all over the world (Dubai to london) and my husband is from NYC, and together we make a point of planning entire vacations around restaurants and food experiences, and trust me when I say, this place belongs in NYC, Paris, or some other food capital of the world. It’s personal, timeless and very high end, something done best in small scale. Instead of scaling up and having to sacrifice quality for turnover, they keep the seats limited and numbers down. We’ve celebrated most of our biggest life events here since discovering it, and recommend it over any other fine restaurant in Utah to everyone we know. Skip Ruth’s Chris, Valters, and even Le Caille, this restaurant puts all others in Utah to shame. youre getting a high end New York experience, or an authentic world class Italian experience without the travel!

I've been 3 times, and I will go back again many times. There is none other like it in SLC. The flavor, recommendations, and even the way they plate the food demonstrate a serious dedication to their craft and hospitality. Veneto, the food, the staff, and Amy are all unbelievable. They helped me schedule and reserve a last minute dinner for my 40th.

Authentic Italian restaurant, the owner Marco and the staff take care of every guest with exceptional attention. The food is beyond amazing. My fiancé and I ordered a bottle of wine and we asked the owner to pair it with the food of his selection. We had a great night, very intimate.

Some of the best Italian food I've had in Salt Lake! The Bolognese is my all time favorite! Picture is from my take-out order that I ate at home.

The food was spectacular! I love that their mission is to bring an authentic northern Italian experience to Salt Lake. I can't speak to the authenticity since I've never been to Italy, but I thought they did an amazing job of creating delicious food in an upscale, friendly atmosphere you'll definitely want to come back to.

Absolutely love this place. The service, food and wine were impeccable during our visit. In fact, the staff chased us down the street to ensure we had our takeout in hand after we left it on the table after paying. Can't do better than this spot!

Went for a special occasion and did the four course tasting menu and really enjoyed it. The food was fantastic -- a good mix of more adventurous dishes (dehydrated watermelon with calamari) with more traditional ones (ravioli alla carbonara). A perfect amount of food as well -- I left feeling satiated but not stuffed. Staff was attentive and answered my dumb questions without judgment, which is always nice.

We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was superb! The food was beautifully plated and delicious. The wine was paired perfectly and was outstanding. I believe it was the owner who presented each dish. He was fantastic! Such a fun evening with a great staff. Food was a little slow to come out but that may have been how busy it was. I definitely will come back!

This past Friday night my sister and I dined at Veneto Ristorante Italiano, it was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. We got the Pear Ravioli and the Beef Wagyu, sooooo good! The atmosphere is warm and authentic, the service is gracious and attentive and the food is truly exceptional. One of the best Italian restaurants in the area. Highly recommend!

We have been here twice and each time the food, atmosphere, and especially the service has been standout. By far our favorite restaurant for a nice dinner date. We love the small size of the restaurant and the atmosphere complements it well. The service is always very attentive and ultra professional, but with great personalities! It really feels like they want you to feel taken care of. The no tip policy is a very nice aspect, because the prices aren’t even higher than you would expect from some similar establishments, and I really support paying good wages and not making servers depend on tips. We are planning to come back many more times.

We dined here on a rainy evening and it was such wonderful gesture to be greeted at our vehicle with a waiting umbrella to walk into the restaurant! The food was amazing and the wine list had many European options. We will be back time and time again! Thank you for an impeccable experience!

Such an amazing experience from start to finish! It started with the call to confirm my reservation. It was for a birthday and they asked if they could have a bottle of champagne or flowers waiting at the table when we arrived. The woman who called was very pleasant. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and they also offered to take our coats. Our waiter arrived very shortly after we were seated and asked about water options and explained the menu. We decided to split a second course dish so our waiter had them split it onto two seperate plates for us without us even having to ask. We tried the spaghetti caprese. And oh my was it delicious! The home made noodles were cooked to perfection! And the sauce was delectable! It was perfectly seasoned and absolutely mouth watering. They also bring out a basket of bread that was so good and went well to get the rest of the sauce that came with the pasta. For the main course my husband got the filet mignon. It came out cooked as requested, medium rare. He ate the whole thing so he definitely enjoyed it. I got the elk stew. The elk was cooked very well. Seasoned well and tasted great. The polenta and veggies were a wonderful addition. The veggies were also cooked amazingly. I enjoyed my dish very much! At the end they gave us a little box of a cookie cake type thing that was great with my coffee the nexr day. When we got to the hoatess area they already had our jackets ready to go so we didn't even have to wait. I will definitely be going back and i have already recommended this place to a few people

The perfect experience for a small intimate birthday celebration! Service was impeccable, food was AMAZING, and their no-tip policy is a breath of fresh air in the out of control tipping culture. All the reviews about the food are accurate, especially all the pasta dishes and risotto being perfectly al dente. Definitely our special-occasion place from now on.

We came here as a group to celebrate my birthday, and it was a really fun and memorable evening. The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and made the night feel special. We opted for the 7-course dinner with wine pairings, which was a great experience overall. One of the courses was two citrus slices soaked in rum, served as a palate cleanser. While creative, we personally didn’t feel it quite stood up as a full course. My brother, who has dined here before, mentioned he preferred the courses from previous seasons—but of course, tastes vary. All in all, it was a wonderful night out and a unique dining experience.

I wanted to try a nicer higher end experience for my sister and I because we like to try new foods and experiences and this is like once in a lifetime thing for us. We went in knowing it was going to be on the pricer side, but I will admit this is the most expensive restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. We did enjoy our food for the most part besides a couple thing's we were kind of disappointed in especially for the price of this place. Also, it is a very small intimate setting, which is cute, but can be very loud, which makes it hard to talk to someone else. Over all it was a decent experience.

Delicious food and service. It's a non tip restaurant , although they charge you $4 per person/ service . If you want to tip, that money goes to a charity :) The meat was AWE and the gnocchi!!! We expected more about the tiramisú, it almost doesn't taste coffee and it was a little bit frozen in the middle.

Went here for a holiday dinner and we LOVED it!! Our waiter was so helpful and kind. We especially loved the gnocchi with brown butter with sage and ricotta. We also liked the bolognese.

We were pleased we were able to get a same day Thursday night 8PM reservation; tho it required 4 calls to the restaurant. The first 3 dropped straight to VM. We hoped that there would be specials as the online menu lacked carne choices. When we arrived there was one other table with 2 guests, and we thought perhaps it's a sign? Considering the gentleman at the host station was so kind, we decided to stay. We were greeted by this beautiful note on our table suggesting to appreciate and live in the moment. That is a lovely touch. I requested to see the wine list to order a bottle of champagne and was a little surprised that there were so many very pricey options and very few in a reasonable price range. Okay, we figured we'd roll the dice since I did want to taste Lady Gaga's Dom. So two things happened here: the restaurant does not have proper glasses for champagne, and the champagne was served slightly warm, so it was too bubbly. That was remedied after the first glass as it sat in its ice bucket. Before the champagne was brought out, a server came to the table and wanted to talk to us about how the menu works? I kindly requested if we could have our champagne delivered first and relax into the experience. I fear I offended him. There are no specials as they curate their menu. Fair enough; our server was able to recommend a few dishes that sounded delicious. The chef's amuse-bouche was delicious. I ordered the Bolognese. Funny enough, the server said it's impossible to mess up a Bolognese. . . But yes, it is possible. A Bolognese is more than crumbled ground beef atop pasta, which is basically this restaurant's rendition of a Bolognese. I tried to remedy it by ordering ricotta cheese and asking for salt and pepper (which was not offered at service); alas, I was unable to make the dish enjoyable. The beef tartare was delicious. The server recommended a pork dish that was beautifully presented and delicious at first bite. As I ate more, it got increasingly drier. This part of the pork was described as very fatty, perhaps my peice was just slightly overcooked? I remedied this by requesting additional sauce as it was plated the fancy way with very little of the accoutrement. That did help. Though I was extremely disappointed with the dried up potato rosette. Yes, I requested to have potato with the pork, and I guess the chef wasn't pleased with my ask. It was impossible to cut the fennel because the knife was simply not sufficient. It would have been preferred for the kitchen to remove the orange rinds as they can be bitter. No one came to the table to follow up after serving food courses. The seafood dish was delicious. Espresso is very, very good. Tiramisu lacked sufficient flavor; the lady fingers were not soaked long enough in the espresso. This resulted in a dry desert. It also appears that it might have been a little old, as you can tell from the photo, the cocoa on top reflects that the desert was not made that day. Did appreciate that the waiter explained that tips are embedded in their food cost. Though, it was not proactively communicated when the check was dropped. The Medieval Time service charge communicated in other reviews is interesting. And all my travels to Italia, perhaps I wasn't paying attention. Wink. Overall, it was an okay dining experience. We chalked it up to being in Salt Lake City rather than in the metropolitan areas we typically frequent.

The food was delicious and the service quite nice. The filet was perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. The neighborhood is questionable, though, that is largely out of their control. But, the $75 corkage fee is outrageous, especially when their wine list, while containing some decent Italian wines, is not comprehensive enough to warrant such an exorbitant charge when one knows what they like to drink. For a place that claims to be so passionate about wine, and even offer its patrons a wine club membership, it feels deeply disrespectful to gouge fellow wine drinkers with that price. It is due to this we will not return. That said: if you do not partake in libations, the food is good and of generally good value.

J.A. W.

A lovely atmosphere, amazing Gnocchi, and I love the included tip practice, but same/better quality Italian food is available in Salt Lake for much less. One area of note, though they will substitute gluten free Penne for certain dishes, they don’t adjust the recipe very well, and I would steer others with an allergy to order off the already gluten free options. Order liberally, as all plates are quite small. That said, the food is very good, the staff are cordial, and the location is quiet and intimate.

My family and I visited Veneto Ristorante for New Year’s Eve, and while the experience had its highs, there were some disappointments. The tasting menu, though flavorful, lacked variety and wasn’t as impressive as we had hoped. It didn’t quite meet our expectations for such a special evening. On the positive side, the staff was exceptional—warm, attentive, and well-coordinated. They made us feel very much at home, which was a highlight of the evening. The restaurant’s intimate setting is ideal for couples or small gatherings, but I wouldn’t recommend it for larger groups. However, there were some significant downsides. The squeaky chairs were distracting and felt out of place in a fine dining setting. More concerning, three out of four of us experienced food poisoning, which has made us hesitant to return. While I’d like to give the restaurant another chance, this experience left us uncertain. With a bit more attention to detail, Veneto Ristorante could fully align with its fine dining aspirations.

Romantic atmosphere but the food has some funky flavors. It may be pretty authentic for northern Italian cuisine, which makes sense to me since we didn't find an excellent meal anywhere in Italy, most restaurants we ate at in Italy were below average compared to American restaurants. The filet mignon at Venetos was tough and surprisingly tasted a bit like liver which made it an unpleasant entrée. I've eaten a lot of filet mignon at fine restaurants over the years and have never had a filet that tasted like liver until now. It came with a side of something that looked like charred cabbage that was so bitter we couldn't eat it. We will not be returning.

I took a date here for a nice evening and neither of us were impressed with any of the food we ordered. It was one of those meals where you leave hungry and it almost ruins the date. We both left saying Gordon Ramsay needs to come help these guys. Sorry we won't be back

Went here for the Valentines tasting menu. 4 courses with the wine pairings, and each course had the option to choose from 2 items. My partner and I each got something different so we could try all the dishes. The experience was 2 hours, but unfortunately the food came out in weird increments. For the first hour and fifteen minutes we were only served one course. The other three were squished into the remaining 45 minutes. The plates were small, which is not a problem for a tasting menu, but there was such a lack of flavor. We understand the simplicity of northern Italian food, but at a $400 price tag I wish anything packed a punch. Our octopus dish came out cold, our chocolate cake came out burnt and crumbly. We couldn’t finish either dish and I went home with a stomach ache. I expected much more due to the good reviews and expensive price tag. We are pretty big on tasting / prix fixe menus and this unfortunately was a big miss. I would avidly not reccommed.

Honestly the worse experience (food, service, etc) that I can remember. The steaks had zero seasoning, and I mean zero. Not to mention the Wagyu steak I got was barely cooked, not to mention barely warm. I would have brought it to the waiter’s attention but didn’t even know who it was (because we were never told and had different people brining us items) nor did we ever get asked about us how are food was. Not once. Salad my wife got was legitimately arugula leaves and lemon juice. That’s it. $16 for something that could not have taken more than 1 minute to take and cost them less than a dollar. When we did mention to one the staff she seemed to not care at all. I have no idea how this place has any good reviews. It wasn’t that one thing or a few things were terrible, ALL of it was atrocious.

M
Mandy Livesay

I literally never leave reviews, but after 5 days of this still on my mind, I feel very strongly to leave this review. Whoever left positive reviews either, are related, work there or don’t ever eat at fine dine restaurants. My husband took me here for Mother’s Day. After entering, the ONLY positive experience was the hostess. She was the only one we liked there. After what seemed to be very confusing as to where they were going to seat us, we sat down and were left alone for a long time. After asking one of the girls walking by if we could just get menus, she almost looked offended and said our waiter would get them for us. After a male finally came to us after a long time, he seemed nice and took our order. He recommended their most expensive salad (which later to find out was literally arugula lettuce, lemon juice and the finest Parmesan cheese you couldn’t even taste. It was disguising). They gave us a bite sized taste appetizer to which I actually thought I was going to throw up. I think we may have been charged for it unknowingly after reading the other reviews. My husband agreed (he is not picky in the least). When we got our steaks, neither of our steaks had even salt on it and my husband’s was literally raw. We just ate it and tried not to make a big deal out of it. Never once since we walked in there were we asked ANYTHING as to how things were, etc or who our waiter even was. I had to flag a girl I saw most frequently down and thought I would nicely let the restaurant be aware of the issues/mistakes with our food (even clarifying we’d still pay for it). BIG mistake apparently. She looked VERY irritated as if we had brutally crossed a line. I have never felt so embarrassed in my life at a restaurant. NO apologies, no attempts to make things right, nothing. To say this “restaurant” is professional is a joke. Seeing the unprofessional and uncaring responses towards the other reviewer, it validates my point. I have told everyone I know (there are lots who appreciate food and would have gone) NOT to go here. Thanks for ruining my Mother’s Day dinner 👍

After the amount of money that was spent for dinner here, I am very disappointed in quality of Venetos. They have great service, they are very professional and I greatly appreciate that they were able to get us a same day reservation. However, it is more than pricing and service that make an evening great. It is one thing to take time to make a quality meal, but it is another to have your guests fill up on water as they wait an hour for their dinner, so that they will not be as disheartened with the small portions when it is received. With that, it is ridiculous to charge $13 for the said water. As for the meal itself, I found it very displeasing that five small strips of steak cost $50. I understand people associate expensive meals with a quality experience, but to let yourself believe that something like this is a positive memorable evening is simply just foolish. This being said, I wish the tables were spread out enough, that you could walk between easily when getting in and out without bumping either. I also wish they were more spread out so it did not seem as though you are eves dropping on your neighboring table. There also needs to be better communication with the waiting and attending for more input during the meals. Overall, I was very displeased with my experience and do not plan on attending again.
