Tip: The restaurant is massive, so even when the parking lot is slammed, there's rarely a long wait. If undecided, try the Tristan "a la mexicana" steak.

There was a line before opening for service and the food was probably the best ive had here in town. The place is huge! Our server, Bri was amazing. She made the atmosphere friendly, warm and welcoming. This place is a must try.
ALWAYS love this place! Never had a bad meal! Jalapeño Poppers...AWESOME!!
We’ve been coming here for years, and it’s always been consistently great. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the place runs like a well-oiled machine. I usually order the Mexican dinner—it’s perfect if you want a little taste of everything. The guacamole portion is generous, too. Plenty of seating, great food, and a reliable spot we keep coming back to. Also, it is wheelchair friendly for my family member to get in and out easily.
We were in town for the stock show and decided to try this place out. First our server was literally the sweetest lady ever.(My kids literally hugged her before we left) The food was amazing, the drinks top notch. If we are ever on the area again we will be back!
Drove buy this place about 10 times before giving it a shot. The large parking lot was always slammed. It's a massive restaurant, and well staffed. Got a seat at the bar right away on Friday night and got my super sized Mexican plate that was outstanding. It's also modestly priced and great for a family on a budget.
William the Server (this is the nickname I'm dubbing him) was very attentive and communicative with the service! He told us the place was understaffed, but with the way he was running things, I wouldn't have noticed a thing! Everything was very smooth and seamless as he served our table of 8, and he even gave us flan as an extra service which was very nice of him! I hope he gets all of the best tips and nicest customers 🤩
Food is solid we had the platter that serves a family of 4 with chicken beef and shrimp fajitas and there was a lot left over. Food came out super fast and hot. It was our first time here. We were visiting from Odessa and verizon towers went down leaving us with no signal at all. We started to panic because we didn't know our way around san angelo 😅🤣. But the managers came and gave us their personal wifi code to get connected and figure out where we were. Next time I come to Henry's I'm bringing a paper map! Food, Service, Atmosphere 5/5 ☆☆☆☆☆
Daughter and I went to Henry's after an appointment. The guiso may have been the best I've had. They have a choice of the regular or spicy. I had spicy and it was the perfect amount of spice. The service was nice, attentive, but not overly so. The price was good also. Very nice dining experience.
Brunch with my Mother. We had the chicken enchiladas with greensauce and guacamole for appetizer made at the table. Amazing staff and food! It was busy and still really good.
There's a cocktail here callled a qualuude, best option for under 20 bucks. Great people, most of the waiters and waitresses are there for a while so their friendliness is really great, especially when you remember their name. The food is great, I have been going here for a what seems like 50 of my 20 years on this earth and I have noticed that they have different people making the white sauce. On Sundays they are packed after church and I believe their hours are 10am to 3pm I haven't had every item on their menu either so my statement of all of the food being great is biased.
What can I say? Henry’s is an institution like Peasant Village. If you want classic Mexican food or a chicken fried steak, this is the place. Don’t even mess around with anything else. Are there other places that feel more “authentic“ when it comes to Mexican food? Maybe. Does Henry’s have a ridiculous kitchen and decades of tradition? Yes. The staff is very nice, and Alejandro had the forethought to ask the bartender about certain things I wanted when he wasn’t quite sure what was being asked. Smart kid. If you want to experience San Angelo history, come to this place.
Not only was our waiter Jason fast courteous and perfectly there. But both managers named Adam were down to earth and very polite. The entire staff worked like a well oil machine. My wife surprised me by taking me there for our anniversary and it was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in years.
After living here for so long we finally made it to Henry's. The parking lot is almost always packed but we are usually able to find a space. We walked in and were greeted by Ciera, we were seated immediately even though they were busy. We were brought chips and salsa, the salsa was flavorful and spicy. They took our drink and appetizer orders while we decided on what to order. The vodka lemonade was to die for and our queso was very delicious. We ordered the El capitan and the guiso burrito. The rice and beans were delicious and guiso melted in my mouth. The enchilada sauce was mild, but still very tasty. The portions are huge and I couldn't finish mine. Our waitress was helpful and attentive. I would put Henry's in my top 3 favorite Mexican restaurants in San Angelo. We will be back.
Went for lunch. There is ample parking in the lots. We were seated upon arrival. The place is spacious and there are booth and table seating options. We were able to enjoy complimentary chips and salsa while we waited for our meal. The chips had just The right amount of crispiness. The salsa had roasted pepper flavor. It was served room temp. We added white sauce. It was creamy and flavorful. The food came out quickly. It was sizzling hot and fresh. The beans were creamy and cheesy, the rice was well flavored with a firm but done texture. The steaks were well seasoned and tender. I enjoyed the food and the service in this spacious establishment.
I had a great time during my first dinner at The Original Henry's. Although the large restaurant was near capacity due to the influx of spectators for the San Angelo Rodeo, they found a way to get our part of six seated quickly. We ordered appetizers and even had fresh guacamole prepared at our table. I didn't know what to order, so I took the server's suggestion of the chicken fried steak. The Original Henry's version of chicken fried steak was different than the traditional American chicken fried steak. It came plated on its own yellow gravy, which gave a unique look and feel. I also enjoyed the baked potato and broccoli as my sides. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to The Original Henry's, and I look forward to visiting again, particularly during a more relaxed time.
I had never been here before even though I've been to San Angelo several times, but my friends had and were raving about it, so I decided to take us out to lunch. I really was not disappointed. The place has a fairly decent sized menu, which, rather than stare at it forever, i ordered the first thing that caught my eye, which was the Stuffed Green Peppers. Which I thought was an u usual but welcomed sight on Mexican restaurant's menu. They had a crisp, not soggy bite with lots of cheese on top, and the ground beef in side was not soggy, although could have been slightly more flavorful. There wdte plenty of beans and rice on the side, with the beans being that nice, creamy consistency with plenty of cheese as well. Also got the Table-side guacamole, which was delicious and fresh too. Overall, it was a good experience, and at only 55 for 3 people I thought that was reasonable enough. My sweet tea could have maybe been a little sweeter but that's only a very minor gripe.
This was my first time here and I WILL return again! Our waitress was talkative and quick! She recommended I get the Tristan "a la mexicana" because I was undecided. It ended up being one of the best steaks I've had! This one is the picture with the grilled veggies on top of the steak. The other picture are what my son and his friend ordered.

Love this place and try to stop by everything we are in town. Great mexican food. Best guacamole I've ever had.
Ordered the el querido quatro, carnitas plate, and the Brianna special. The salsa was ok, but where was the heat? It wasn't spicy at all. The queso was ok. The white sauce tasted like crema mixed with something, it was ok. The steak was cooked correctly and had a nice taste. The enchilada with the Spanish sauce was very good. It was on the sweet side and through me off at first. I wasn't crazy about the beans and I liked the rice. My wife was the opposite, she liked the beans but not the rice. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant had a nice vibe but it does show it's age (part of the charm). The place is very big. There a lot of tables, a bar area and there was another seating area that I could see the entrance but not inside.
Henry’s was highly recommended to me by five different people who visit every year, and they specifically told me to try the quail, steak, and chickrn + enchiladas. I went immediately after it was recommended with my coworker on Valentine’s Day. It was very busy (as expected), but we were seated quickly, which I really appreciated thank you for that. We ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. The portion sizes were great they serve a full-size chicken breast, which I loved because it’s a lot of protein. You do have to cut your own chicken, which wasn’t a problem, just something to note. In my opinion, the steak and chicken were a little dry and slightly under-seasoned, but that could have just been an off night or a different cook because it was Valentine’s Day and extremely busy. Our server was new, and he did an amazing job. When it came to recommendations, I didn’t want to overwhelm him with too many questions since he occasionally had to double-check things which I actually appreciated because it showed he wanted to be accurate. Despite how busy it was, he made our experience feel personal and did everything he could to make sure we had what we needed. The manager was also consistently checking on tables and making sure everyone was having a great time and enjoying their food, which stood out to me. The margaritas were amazing, and they even had a bake sale going on, which was such a nice touch. Because the service was so great, I will absolutely be back likely this week to try something different. If my thoughts on the food change, this will easily become a five-star review. Overall, thank you Henry, Mark, &Adam (?) for making our Valentine’s Day enjoyable and for the warm service. I’m excited to come back
My sister loves Henry's. I think its good as far as Tex Mex goes. Tacos are very good but the salsa has almost no spice or flavor to me. Just very tomatoey. She always get the enchiladas. They are very good but don't expect a pure red chile base like an authentic enchilada. More of a tex mex brown base.
This is a big restaurant we went just after 1:30. There was no wait, we walked right in and got a table. It was still quite busy at this time. We had a server there within minutes he was very friendly. Although I didn't get anything off the lunch menu I did get the taco plate. The tacos are huge. The only thing is that you have to pay extra for cheese, which I found a little unusual. I thought normally cheese came on tacos. The plates are pretty big if you wanted to share you you would be able to. We were visiting San Angelo and I do recommend this restaurant if you're ever just traveling through. Food and staff were great! Very tasty food!
Plates are well priced. Food is good. Salsa is good. Food came out quick! Like magic.

Nice environment, the waitress was polite and professional and good seating. We ordered 2 different meals and shared our plates. Nothing about our meal was a real standout. The food was hot, nice portions and average flavors. I did appreciate their menu prices, very reasonable!

Went for lunch today I do not recommend! Salsa needed flavor not just tasting like spicy tomato. White sauce tasted like water with ranch and the bean dip was also not good i seen where yall got that idea from and it was a huge miss. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and got more tomato than chicken and very soupy rice was dry and the taco meat had no flavor and was 2 different colors. My brother got the grilled chicken sandwich came with no seasoning on it. And now he is feeling sick to his stomach. The waiter was super nice and the water was good. If I could leave ZERO starts I would. Spent about $35 and should of went down the street.
Food was not to our liking. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. Just didn't like the food. It's looked great and came.out really fast after ordering. But the steak was water cooked or steamed and the Taco seasoning could have been better. The sauce for the chili relleno was not good. But the relleno itself was delicious. Overall I give it a 2 out of 5. It is worth a try to find something you might like.
