Was there for the second time. Food is phenomenal. First time i tried the wrecker. It was a chicken fried steak on biscuit with gravy. It was super yummy! Second time I tried their grilled porkchops and OMGGGGG! it was amazingly flavorful! Jasmine was my waitress this second time around and she was wonderful. Really polite and welcoming. She was informative and responsive. She made sure we were well and asked if there were anything we needed. I was very pleased with the awesome customer service.
James was knowledgeable and very kind. He was quick and efficient. He welcomed us and was happy to help as this was our first time here. We ordered the pork chop and meat lovers omelet. The food was amazing! We couldn't finish it all. Light and fluffy biscuits that were home made...you definitely can tell. Shout out to the cooks and kitchen staff for really good food.
Food was good ..although our waiter was bit unpleasant at first...idk if the boss came out or showed up but as soon as she saw him or he appeared she started... saying thank you....and your welcome...aside from "next" as she takes our order....or "what side do u want" . Or not even answering after typing in our order....we are not the type to be rude while we order or act like we above anyone..because I know they work hard and a waiting tables seems like hard work..so im not that guy to be an ass and i always , ALWAYS tip ...but other than that it was good
Bobbie’s was amazing for breakfast. The sausage biscuits were the best I’ve ever had. Chocolate chip pancakes were delightfully fluffy and sweet. Our server, Kelly was an absolute dream. She was kind, friendly, helpful and provided such a well thought out and timely service. Highly recommend!!!
After seeing a recommendation for this spot on the FB San Antonio Restaurants group, we decided to get up early to best the rush. We realized once we got here that they took over the old Pancake Haus location. The French toast grilled cheese was soooo good (the bread they used is perfect!) My husband got the Busting Britches and upgraded to the peach cobbler pancakes (so worth it!). Portion sizes were large and very filling. Everything was freshly made and hot when it came out, with normal wait times. Our server, James, was friendly and made great suggestions for a delicious meal. We will definitely be back to try the humongous biscuits and chicken fried steak!
We immediately put ourselves on the wait-list knowing there's a wait in the morning especially on the weekends. Then I could run a few quick errands while keeping a constant eye on the waiting list. This location is where the old pancake Haus used to be. It has plenty of parking. Once I checked in, our table was ready in about 5 minutes. We were quickly greeted by our server who took our drink orders. I ordered a coffee and was nice and hot and comforting. I believe they need to use a better filtered water but was good enough for a second cup when our food was presented after we ordered. The menu has your standard fare items. Where the potatoes weren't especially great, but the hash browns were seasoned perfectly. I ordered a short stack pancakes and my wife ordered the small, chicken fried steak and eggs with their huge biscuit! The biscuit was flaky and dense, much like the pancake. Buttermilk thickness was present. I also had their sausage patties and overeasy eggs. All was standard fresh tasting food, but to me the winner was the chicken fried steak. It was so good and tasty with the sawmill gravy. It was initially hot out of the kitchen but remained warm throughout the meal. The pies looked very tasty but we needed to leave, maybe next time!
Just moved from Dallas and this place came up on my social media and was recommended by many people that have visited San Antonio and decided to give it a try. From the moment I walked in, the hosts were super friendly and smiles all around, it was a week day morning, walked in, was seated promptly and was served by a wonderful waitress named Miranda. Even though she had multiple tables that morning with 4 or more people, she made sure that I needed not one single thing, I tried The Wrecker and let me tell you all, I did NOT even make a dent in the gigantic plate. I had to get a to go box, Miranda made sure that my coffee was full at all times, I asked for a couple of side items and she did not even hesitate one bit. I was very impressed with the food and the service I received, my plate was delicious and look forward to going back to try other items off their menu! Delicious food, fantastic service, all smiles, I do recommend this place for sure! Happy eating all!
We ordered through a delivery service and we had the fried pork chops, I got the fried okra and my sister got the mashed potatoes with gravy and we both got a salad and unsweet tea. The pork chops were so big we were only able to eat 1 each and had the salads left also. I found the batter a little salty but overall they were delicious and we will order it again. I would love it if they were open for dinner.
This was our first time here. The wait was long but if course it was a Sunday so, understandable. But, if you can wait is definitely worth it! Food was delicious! The chicken fried steak is HUGE! Service was amazing as well! Our waitress Jocelyn was soo awesome! Very attentive and made sure she repeated the order back to us. She also was very specific on our options etc. We will definitely be back and even ask to sit in Jocelyns section!
We were greeted by Mr. And Mrs. Clause (Santa) The atmosphere and staff were extremely welcoming. Even though it was busy, the wait wasn’t long, the food came out hot and fresh and we were offered refills before running out of beverages. My 6 year old is the pickiest eater in the world, and he DEVOURED the bacon and chocolate chip pancakes. I ordered the Texas omelette and it was stuffed full with delicious veggies. Ny husband got their enchiladas and said they are on par with Blanco cafe! The real winner were the fried green tomatoes. They were tangy, zesty, spicy and fresh! Our waitress Rylee was so attentive and friendly. We are definitely recommending to our family and friends. This place is amazing!
OMG!!! Breakfast was amazing and our server MORGAN was also amazing and she is well mannered. She was attentive, quick and friendly. She really made a difference in our breakfast experience. We will definitely come back. Shout out to the cook the food was delicious great job. Keep up the great work!!!
The food was incredible! But nothing compared to the owner bringing out our appetizer, as well as our meals, and making sure everything was good. He was such a pleasure to talk to! I told him that while we were waiting on our food, I was admiring everyone’s food and happiness! Highly recommend this place.
While the wait was long, it was well worth it. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. We never had to wait for refills and were offered suggestions on what was the best dish. We tried a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes, and everything comes fresh and hot in no time at all. The biscuits were huge and light, fluffy. The chicken fried steak and chicken tender were both flavorful and tender. The prices were great for the huge portions. Can't wait to back.
Had breakfast for the first time this week and it was absolutely fantastic!!! What a hidden gem! The menu doesn't only provide a wide variety of options, it's fun! "Y'all this ain't no fast food joint!!" And the portions are huge!! The biscuits and gravy are the bomb!!! Staff was so nice and our server Ali was the best! We will definitely be back soon!!
Everything was amazing, from the service to the food! Kelly was our server and she was great!! Very attentive and friendly, we really enjoyed having her as our server. The Ana’s French toast was incredible. The morning wrecker was huge and so delicious!! The brisket omelet was amazing! It is definitely worth the wait.
We weren’t aware MPH was not here any longer, but we decided to stay and try it. What a great decision! I tried to be good and ordered the Karen (no carb plate). My husband ordered the Morning Wrecker, which I had to claim my “community property” share. This is NOT the place to be loyal to low/no carb! (but the options are there if you have more willpower than I possess.) The biscuits and chicken fried streak were amazing, Sianna, our waitress was so attentive, efficient and sweet. We will be back!
Absolutely — here’s a raving, high‑energy review that makes Sianna shine the way If you’re dining at Bobby’s Southern Kitchen and Sianna is taking care of your table, consider yourself in the best hands in the building. She’s the kind of waitress who turns comfort food into a full‑blown experience. From the moment she greets you, there’s this effortless warmth — genuine, attentive, and full of that Southern charm that makes you feel like family, not just another ticket. Sianna has a sixth sense for timing. Drinks never run low, plates arrive hot, and she somehow checks in exactly when you need something without ever interrupting the flow of your meal. Her menu knowledge is next‑level too — she doesn’t just recommend dishes, she sells them with the kind of enthusiasm that makes you excited before the plate even hits the table. And she’s always right. Always. What really sets her apart is her energy. She’s upbeat, quick on her feet, and handles even the busiest rush with a calm confidence that makes the whole dining room feel smoother. You can tell she cares about the experience, not just the order. If Bobby’s Southern Kitchen had a hall of fame, Sianna would be in it. She’s the reason people come back — not just for the food, but for the feeling of being truly taken care of.
The food at this establishment is delicious. I had the hog in hand, which is the pork chop breakfast with the two pork chops. The food was well seasoned and really great portions. My husband had the chicken fried steak, half portion along with the Nutella banana pancake, which was delicious as well. The service was fantastic. The waitress gave great suggestions will definitely go back. Can’t wait to try more food.
I was there for brunch. From the coffee to the food and the service, I have not had breakfast taste as great as it did in a long time. The service was great and the manager asked us if we were doing alright or needed anything. Glad I got the scrambled eggs versus the over easy(which I'm sure would have been just as good). I will be coming back. Definitely recommend getting in line on the app so you don't have too much of a wait time. Best home cooked meal taste in a while for me. Definitely recommend. 👍
Got the Meat Lovers Breakfast w/ hashbrowns and biscuit. Also added one blueberry pancake. Everything was freaking great! Definitely worth the wait. And our server, Somer was great too. Quick service. Quick to put the orders in and my drink was never empty. I can't wait to go back and try the Bourbon Meatloaf.
Came in on a Sunday and Riley was my server—she was fantastic! Super attentive, kept my coffee filled, and even suggested fun ways to customize my order. I got the pancake breakfast with eggs, hash browns, and sausage. Great portions for the price, and the pancakes were perfectly fluffy. Riley recommended trying them next time with strawberries and pecan praline, which I definitely will. Cozy atmosphere, fun décor, and lots of good energy. Left full and happy!
I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Bobby’s Café, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is incredible, and the service is truly next-level. A huge shout-out to Reese, our waiter, who made the visit unforgettable. Reese was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had everything we needed. From thoughtful menu recommendations to checking in at just the right moments, Reese delivered the kind of service that turns a good meal into a great one. The dishes were delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or settling in for a relaxing meal, Bobby’s Café sets the bar high. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor—go, and ask for Reese. You won’t be disappointed!
Reagan was top notch!! She was attentive and so nice. She repeated our order back, came back for the 2bite check. She is quick, we will be back and ask for her. The food was also amazing, the menu selection is huge, we couldn't decide because everything sounded so good. The fried green tomatoes were perfect 👌 we were not disappointed with any of the food. I even joked with my husband and said "we're coming back for dinner." We will absolutely be back!!
We've been trying to get in this place for months, but they are always full. People wait on the waiting list for hours just to eat here. After today, I see why. The food is amazing! The service is fast. Our server was friendly, polite, and attentive. I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. I got the whole chicken fried steak, which is huge! I was only able to eat less than half. We also had the morning wrecker, blueberry pancakes, banana praline pecan pancakes, and strawberry Belgium waffles. We will be coming back to try more on the menu.
It has been awhile since I had a good chicken fried steak. This one was very good and tender. The hamburger steak was good too. The mashed potatoes and fries weren’t as fresh or from scratch but they were still okay. The menu had so many options that I can’t wait to try in future visits.
This place was great! Be sure to check-in online because the wait was long and I had the luxury of waiting at home vs. outside becuz this place was packed! So online check-in was the icing on the cake because the food was delicious. Very large portions, great flavor, and the nicest staff!
This was my boyfriend and I’s first time trying out Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen and we had an amazing experience. The inside was clean and aesthetically pleasing. We were greeted by Miranda, who was our server, and she was beyond helpful, kind, and went above and beyond. We had a lot of questions and she was very patient and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. She made our experience very memorable for our first time. The food was also perfect and hot and exceeded our expectations. Also, the portion sizes were huge and we were able to take food and drinks to go. I appreciated the outstanding customer service, very tasty food, and great atmosphere and location. We will definitely be back for more!
First time visiting Bobbie's and it won't be the last. Every time im in town I will stop by. My wife and I loved the food and the delicious biscuits! We had the meatloaf and the chicken fried chicken and your choice of two sides. If your hungry get the full plate if not get the half plate, its a lot of food. The staff was also extremely nice and treated us very well and we can't wait till we come back again!
We had a great experience at Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen, and a big part of that was our server, Kelly. She was incredibly attentive and kind from the moment we sat down. She knew the menu inside and out and gave us helpful recommendations. Our drinks stayed full, our food came out just right, and we felt genuinely taken care of the whole time. You can tell she takes pride in her job, and it made our visit even better. We’ll definitely be back—and we hope we get Kelly again!
Sorry no pics. I had the Mommas boy chicken sandwich & it was really good. I did ask for extra special sauce because I forgot to do them to add mayo. Three toast it was on made up for the mayo though because it was super good & buttery. I had a salad instead of fries because I was trying not to eat any bit the salad lettuce was wilted. It was just lettuce & one tomatoe slice. Rylee our server was super nice & always checked on us & engaged in conversation even i asked questions, despite the crowd. Momma get the Karen's breakfast but it doesn't come with bread so we paid extra to try their pancakes. They really good. Melted in your mouth good. I asked where the restroom was and I think the manager said down the hallway.. okaaay which way. I found it but I felt like she could have been a lil more pleasant. Restrooms were messy and needed attention. I would return. Make sure you get on thewaitlist. I got in at 9am l, pulled up an hour later & sat right down.
Absolutely delicious! Believe the Instagram hype, the food is amazing. The restaurant was super loud and it was hard to hear the person next to me at my table so they lose a bit there but that’s not a big deal. You’ll be happy you came here. We came at 10am on a Saturday and didn’t have to wait but an hour later it was packed so plan accordingly.
Had a wonderful first time eating at Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen. Went there w/ large family for birthday celebration in private room. Excellent service, family friendly, casual and delicious southern comfort food. Highly recommend visiting Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen in San Antonio Tx.
Bobby’s Southern Kitchen is the definition of comfort food done right, and the Morning Wrecker is hands-down one of the best breakfast plates I’ve ever had. This dish is no joke—chicken fried steak, crispy hash browns, and two perfectly cooked eggs all stacked between a fluffy biscuit, then smothered in rich sausage gravy and topped with melted cheddar cheese. Every bite is hearty, flavorful, and the kind of southern comfort food that sticks with you in the best way possible. The portions are generous without sacrificing quality, and the balance of flavors is incredible. The biscuit is soft and buttery, the chicken fried steak is golden and tender, the hash browns add the perfect crunch, and the sausage gravy ties it together with that classic Southern richness. Add in the cheddar on top, a plate of pure perfection. The only thing I’d love to see is the Morning Wrecker served on a bigger plate, because it’s such a massive meal that it can be tough to keep it all contained on one plate.
Summer was our waitress and she did a phenomenal job. She kept my coffee full, made sure everything was perfect, and helped immensely when I couldn’t decide between so many delicious options. Her recommendations were spot on, and she even told us about off-menu items. She was always smiling, cheerful, and genuinely attentive—not just to our table, but to everyone around us. Breakfast felt less like dining out and more like visiting family by the beach: relaxed, joyful, and welcoming. I ordered the Morning Wrecker with sausage, ham, and bacon added—an absolutely towering breakfast of magnificent proportions. My friend had the veggie omelette, which I sampled and would definitely recommend if you’re into veggies. Summer truly elevated the entire experience and absolutely deserves Employee of the Month. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our first time eating at Bobbie's and Excited we were able to get in. They didn't disappoint 🙌 Service was top notch for being busy 👏 Will G our server was polite, kind and patient with us. All the staff was great from being seated until we left. Very welcoming, we'll be back to enjoy again. Thank you for everything ❤️
The service here is incredible. Today, our server was Bobbie Jo and our experience was perfect. The service was amazing and the food blew our minds. This is my new favorite brunch place. Note, this is a Southern-style breakfast (and a little lunch) place. If you're looking for a healthy meal, there are very few options. If you're looking food comfort for cooked and seasoned to perfection, then this is the place for you.
I ordered a hamburger and fries. That was the best hamburger I have ever had. It comes with 2 patties and the bun ( not sure if it is Kings Hawaiian or homemade) was buttered and toasted. The waitress, Angelina was awesome!! I didn't realize Bobbie's closed at 2:00 and I got there around 1:45. I don't like to do that to the people that work at a restaurant. She encouraged me to stay and she was very attentive. I have been to Bobbie's several times and the experience and food is always great. I will just remember that they close at 2:00.🙂
This establishment offers exceptionally heartwarming cuisine. The food was of exceptional quality, receiving a perfect score of 10 out of 10. The service was equally commendable, with our waitress, Reese, demonstrating exceptional politeness and attentiveness. From the moment we entered with a smile, we left with a smile, having received nothing but positive experiences.
Walked in with zero waiting time. Hostess greeted us with a smile and a welcome. Somer immediately introduced herself and provided excellent customer service. Our food was served by Robert who was the most personable and sincere individual. The food was hot and delicious and served in a timely manner. Overall, very good experience.
We had a great breakfast here for our first time. I had the Ana's French Toast and it was delicious! I asked for one over medium egg on the side and was impressed that they cooked it correctly. It isn't often that I go to a place and they cook an over medium egg right. Also, Leilani was our waitress and she was wonderful. Super sweet and very attentive.
THE BEST CHICKEN FRIED STEAK I'VE HAD IN SAN ANTONIO so far! I had heard it was one of the best, but hadn't had a chance to go since their last location was a little out of the way. Now they're off 281, in EmbassyOaks area. Super crisp and flavorful breading. The beef is nice n thick, really tender, and flavorful. Even more amazing, no empty pockets of crust, due to meat shrinkage! Even though it's white gravy, it's the best one I've had. And the green beans are delicious in some tangy tomato sauce - probably another, "best I've ever had!" The fries... I actually had to ask them to bring fresher fries, but they did, and they were great! I think it's just this type of fry gets colder and limp quicker. 🤷♂️ but overall, one of the best meals i've had in a long time! 🤤👍 FYI, that's the "small" portion. I had no wait during lunchtime, 1ish (for 1), and the server was very attentive and polite. Looking forward to coming back again!
My brother told me about this spot a while back and i am just now going to it. That was my first mistake. My second mistake was forgotten my 2nd stomach befits mam that was a lot of food 🤣 But seriously this place is awesome my waitress even though she was new she story friendly aff was still able to answer my questions. So if you look at the pictures i got the bust your britches meal and i added a biscuit but that is one of the things they ate known for. BTW i can see why the biscuit is the size of softball and is delicious i am sure it is amazing with thirst gravy but today i just wanted a biscuit with butter. I'm a simple man sometimes. But i also want to give a shout-out to the pancakes they are thick and fluffy... like me 🤣 and they taste amazing. My only complaint is the bitter they bring out in the packets is a little too cold is almost frozen so it doesn't spread on the pancakes very well. But to be hooves this is the same problem at most breakfast places i get it food safety standards and stuff but its just kind of annoying trying to spread hard butter on pancakes sometimes... i know real world problems... lol Bit honestly this was one of the best breakfast i jane had in a long while...i will be back...this may even be my new breakfast spot from now on So if you haven't been what are you waiting for and definitely bring your appetite because they don't do small here
I came here to celebrate a 10k race and was very hungry. The service was very fast!! Leilani did such a wonderful job!! She was very attentive and asked how my race went once she saw my medal. She also suggested I try the strawberry lemonade and let me tell yall that drink was amazing!! 🍓🍓🍓🍓Her customer service skills were so welcoming and on point. She brought over the Cholula sauce, the ketchup and Tabasco to our table without even being asked to(she’s an angel) 😇🥰 will definitely be back here, the food and service was amazing 🤩
Hidden gem me and some friends meet here for a early afternoon lunch. Had a country kitchen atmosphere, good sitting. We were able to get seated right away, went on a Wednesday early afternoon ( waitress said weekends can get really busy), wasn't to load or over crowded were able to talk and enjoy our meal. They give you plenty of food for the price with homemade taste. Highly recommended
This place is amazing for a hearty country meal! The food is so delicious, just like grandma used to make. And the service is super friendly, making you feel right at home. Their country house interior is so cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing time. Plus, you can get breakfast or lunch all day, which is a total lifesaver!
First time here, off a tiktok video recommendation. Honestly loved it! I'd been craving a good chicken fried steak for a while. This place was so cozy even though it's a decent sized location. The menu was very varied and I'm sure will have something for everyone. Reagan my server today was very kind and attentive. She made sure to even offer recommendations since I'd mentioned it was my first time at the restaurant. All in all it's definitely worth visiting here. I highly recommend it.
This place is amazing. The Morning Wrecker is much, much larger that it appears. 2 people could easily share it and still be completely stuffed. The taste was great, I had mine made with chicken fried chicken instead of steak and it was marvelous. The sausage gravy is great too. Nice and thick, not too salty, great flavor. The Anna's Fancy French Toast was perfectly cooked. The marscapone sauce was fabulous. I literally wanted to lick the plate.

If you’re looking for one of the best chicken fried steaks in San Antonio, this is the place! The chicken fried steak here is perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and smothered in rich country gravy — seriously unforgettable. The portions are generous and the Southern comfort food is top-tier. What really makes the experience stand out is the awesome customer service, especially from our server Tianna — friendly, attentive, and truly made our visit extra special. This place is a must-try for breakfast or brunch lovers and anyone craving heartfelt Southern cooking. Highly recommend! ❤️
The hubby talked about wanting to take me to Bobbie's and he finally did. I wish we had gone sooner. The food and service was AMAZING! It was so good, we went back days later. The service wasn't the same, but the food was AMAZING! When we return, because we will, I'll be requesting to be in Reese's section. She's awesome and very personable. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes and the hubby ordered a patty melt. He suggested putting the "COMEBACK" sauce they serve with the fried green tomatoes on the party melt. When we returned days later, I ordered the peach cobbler French Toast and the hubby the Brisket Hash. Everything taste great!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Christmas‑Season Breakfast Thanks to Leilani! We had such a wonderful morning breakfast experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing waitress, Leilani. From the moment we sat down, she brought a bright, cheerful energy that made the whole morning feel warm and welcoming. She was attentive, kind, and incredibly thoughtful with the kind of service that makes you feel genuinely cared for. What made the experience even more special was the presence of the separate Mr. and Mrs. Claus, adding a fun and wholesome touch of Christian Christmas spirit to the morning. Leilani tied it all together beautifully. Her joy, her patience, and the way she embraced the festive atmosphere made the breakfast feel like more than just a meal. It felt like a celebration. Leilani turned an ordinary morning into something memorable. She’s a true blessing to the team, and we left feeling grateful, full, and smiling. Highly recommend asking for Leilani. She made our Christmas‑season breakfast unforgettable.
This is our 1st visit. We saw your place on YouTube SA eats . We made a note to visit when we had the chance. Today was that chance. All we can say is WOW ! I didn’t need to touch the salt or pepper. The Bacon- perfect. Everything we tried yum. Our server Ali - on point ! Food hot -atmosphere comfy.
I am always excited to head to Bobbies for some authentic southern cuisine. Burgers are unique and the patties have an excellent flavor that'll leave you wanting more. Biscuits are the size of hamburger buns and the gravy just makes it perfect. Pancakes and french toast warm your heart with every bite, they will 100% satisfy your cravings. Service is always polite and perfect. I thought Magnolia Pancake Haus was top tier, this restaurant is God tier. The food will hit you right in your soul.
What a hidden gem! Food was fresh, delicious, fast, and plentiful. The service was 10 out of 10, we were a party of 10 and our waitress was kind,, helpful and we felt she loved what she did. she didn’t miss a beat everything we ordered was correct. The ambiance was cheerful, comfortable, clean and very welcoming from start to finish! We loved our experience.

Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen is an amazing restaurant. My family frequent Bobbie’s about once a week. They have very friendly staffers, Good/healthy food cooked exactly as you requested. If there is an issue with your order, it is immediately corrected. Food prices are adequate. James was our server @ Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen. He was very polite and our orders came out quick. He is a great waiter and a friendly person. I would definitely request that he wait on my table again.
Somer was phenomenal. She was attentive and because this was our first time, she explained everything on the menu that was popular including the chicken fried steak. The food was a southern down home meal that my husband and I really enjoyed. It’s a wait to get in but worth it.
I came to Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen because I was really craving a good Southern breakfast. It was a Sunday afternoon, and the restaurant was packed. I arrived around 12:30 PM, and the wait for a table for two was about 30 minutes. Once seated, our server greeted us right away, which was a plus. I ordered the Farm Hand with cheese grits and a grilled biscuit. My main plate came out in a timely manner, and overall, the food was good. However, my grilled biscuit didn’t arrive until 15 minutes later, after I had already finished my meal and was asking for the check. While the biscuit was delicious, I really wish it had been served with the rest of my food. Overall, my experience was okay. The food and service were average, and while nothing stood out as bad, there wasn’t much that wowed me either. I’d come back to try other menu items, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return.
Over 50 years in San Antonio Bobbie's is an institution. Featuring down home southern breakfast and key southern dishes, they have every Texans tastbuds wired! The Texas Trio is a wow as a starter. The onion rings have the perfect black pepper spice. The fried pickle spears are solid and the fried okra is wow. Side salads are fresh!! Hubby got the Home Wrecker - see pic. He says it is America on a plate! It is trending on TikTok. I got the chicken fried steak lunch size with salad and mash. The lunch size is truly huge. And It's their specialty. So how was it? Just wow!!! I can not think of a born raised here Texan that I know of who would not like this fare. They got omelets (huge), Benies, and they have burgers, sandwiches, and enchiladas, and MORE!! Be prepared to take half home. The building is very nice. The service could not be nicer. Great staff
I haven't been to Bobbie's since the moved to the Northside. Minus my food server and cold okra, it was good. I had the chicken fried steak, mac, and fried okra. I had to send the okra back, but fresh came out, and still wasn't crispy. They have great pies too. Next time I'll try their breakfast.
Decent breakfast, but not memorable I visited Bobby’s at the Embassy Shops in San Antonio for breakfast. The service was friendly and the ambiance was pleasant. Food-wise, the breakfast was fine but not standout. The pancakes were a good size—large enough for two people—and the “two pancakes with bacon, eggs, and hash browns” option can feel like more than enough for a serious eater. While the pancakes were decent, the overall plate lacked a distinctive element that would make it worth returning. Overall, the experience didn’t justify the price. It’s the kind of breakfast you could make at home, which makes it hard to call it a must-visit. I may give them another try to see if there are hidden gems on the menu, but nothing in this visit felt uniquely special. Pros: - Friendly service - Pleasant ambiance - Generous pancake portion Cons: - Lacked a memorable, standout element - Price vs. value didn’t feel justified Would I return? Maybe to try other menu items, but nothing in this visit stood out enough to guarantee it.
Very cute place, very nice environment. I did the seating online for a party of 5. We got sos combo Big ol french toast Farm hand breakfast Eggs were cooked over easy not over medium but it still tasted good. Bacon slow cooked was delicious perfectly crispy Sausage was good but cold. The French toast a very good fluffy cooked perfect and very flavorful without syrup The pancakes were thick fluffy and good Grilled biscuits we got extra and were amazing that alone could an amazing breakfast with some coffee amazing place Food was amazing, but got cold very fast sadly. Waitress Riley was super nice and quick Coffee was good. I would say with prices same as Cracker Barrel or IHOP, but food 10x better. So over all very good only sad thing was food got cold
Breakfast is very good and the service was great .Wait time. was not bad considering the amount of people who were waiting.

I joined the waitlist online before coming and it made the process much faster. When we arrived after around 45mins on the wait list we waited about 5 minutes and was sat. The server we had was super nice and awesome. We waited about 30 minutes for our food (not complaining they are busy). Where i’m sad is we waited so long just to get cold food. Since we waited so long for the food we didn’t want to send it back because they were getting ready to close. We just quickly ate the cold food and left. The flavor was pretty good, just not a fan of how cold it was after waiting for so long. On top of that the hash brown portion size was quite small in comparison to many places, but the pancake and biscuit and gravy portions were quite large. I’m reviewing just so they’re aware of some of their customers having cold food because i know we weren’t the only ones but no one wanted to complain as being a server is hard and working for a busy place is already hard enough. We probably won’t be back due to this but if they fix the temperature issue, i’m sure their reviews will continue to be great.
Very subpar experience. The food was decent. Chicken fried chicken is good but the hash browns were slightly undercooked and my eggs were cold when they arrived. The biggest disappointment was the service. Our gentleman server was EXTREMELY slow and could not multitask. We had to get refills from another server that passed by. I can appreciate that this is a family owned restaurant and I love that about it but the service could be better...
Got the large chicken fried steak with over medium eggs and papitas refritas with peppers. Biscuit with butter. I like my food hot temperature wise. This was not. However my leftovers once I reheated them were absolutely delicious. It is a quiet place, spent time with friends and a baby that's a year and a half old. The staff was very attentive to my niece. It was a very nice time.
My wife and I eat brunch here. The service was excellent and the menu had a variety of options. The restaurant was clean and everyone was very attentive. We came here at the recommendation of a TikTok we had seen but I have to say the the food was not great and came out cold. We came out of are way to come eat here but we will not be making a trip back. The chicken lacked flavor, the waffle was to sweet for are liking and the french tost came out cold no flavor and very little powered sugar.
i REALLY want to love this place, its obvious by a lot of reviews a lot of people do, but... i dont love it \n\ni do love the variety on the menu, you can pretty much build a breakfast plate the wa…
My mom wanted IHOP for some French Toast, but I thought this place was nicer or, at a minimum, taste more homemade, so I took her here, instead. Well, we should’ve gone to IHOP lol. The wait time to order took a very long time, over 20 min. Then, the food took more than 20 min. Overall it was an hour wait before we ate. It was not very busy when we arrived around 10:45a, so I was surprised at long wait times. My mom thought the coffee was terrible. The French Toast was very dry and my eggs were very runny, almost watery. The farmhouse potatoes were good. Everything else was so dry. Our wait person wasn’t the friendliest and seemed indifferent about the whole thing, almost like we were bothering her even though we didn’t ask for much. The kid sitting us was sweet, though. I did feel bad for my 85 yr old mom who was looking forward to a positive experience.
We highly anticipated trying the Ruben sandwich as we had recently viewed a few of their marketing and news videos around town. We will always go out of our way to support local businesses. We were able to stop by Bobbie’s on a Wednesday to try the daily special. We arrived at noon and were greeted at the door and promptly seated. Once the sandwiches arrived, they resembled nothing even close to any photos or videos of this advertised Ruben sandwich. We kept an open mind and attempted to take a bite. No one was successful. The meat was too tough and too dry to bite through. Even the bread was too dry to eat. This meat was tougher and drier than any jerky that we have ever seen. 100% in-edible. We did eat the french fries because we were all def hungry. With enough ketchup, this was doable. When the waitress walked by we voiced our concerns and she said, “I don’t know what to tell you! That is how they are always served!”. We questioned her and asked “in-edible!?” And she confirmed, “yes!”. She preceded to recommend we get to go boxes since it was evident no one would be capable of eating the food that was served to us. This meat was impossible to cut thru even with a knife, much less chew. It had an iridescent sheen to it and was totally and completely dried out. We agreed, as to be polite, if she would bring the check at that same time. Before arriving at Bobbie’s Cafe, the prices appeared reasonable and we anticipated including this place in our weekly rotation. We paid, left a 20% tip, and got out as fast as we possibly could. We preceded to dine and use the restrooms at a restaurant nearby, in the same strip center and enjoyed a wonderful experience. Please Note: My guests attempted to enter the woman’s restrooms at Bobbie’s Cafe before the food was served. However, there was not a decent or clean stahl. Used TP and paper towels strung everywhere and filthy toilets. It was deemed too dirty to occupy, in any way, as to even wash hands at the current the time. 10 out of 10 would never recommend
