Had never been here, as many times I saw it passing by on the bus, I thought it was closed down. Had a great time, the sun was bright and warm, but not much you can do about that. Played a round on the the regular course, had a bit of a wait for people in front to complete their turns. Only thing I didn't like is that the people behind us were trying to rush us , even though we had to wait for the people in front of us. But still managed to have a good time. Will return again.
Challenging course tested our skills while listening to a fun live band. The course was well worn and could use some carpet repairs. Highly recommended
we had a GREAT time! the place was chill so relaxed we had a blast. took my son's for a play date and us parents probably had more fun than the kids lol. it got a little warm and that was the kids compliant but this is Texas and these air condition babies are a little soft. it was great to get them outdoors instead of going to an indoor miniature golf place. the attendant was friendly and explained the courses, the other patrons were friendly, again very relaxed. I will definitely go back and would recommend this lovely miniature golf course. the prices are reasonable $12 adults $10 kids. it's an older establishment but it has been cared for. we were too busy having fun so I only took one picture
Best miniature golf in the country. I rode my bike over there to play in 1959 when I was 10 years old. In the '90s, I met Harold Metzger and played a round with him. He was such a cool guy and tell me the whole history of the place. His wife Ria was so nice. This place does not have any Mickey Mouse features, just gorgeous flowers and blooming plants and always a cool breeze. The course is true and when you hit the ball, it will go straight.
Took some tennis students to this wonderful historic place and had a great time. My husband and I use to have date nights here when we were in high school. Challenging courses. Love this place! Great family atmosphere as well
When I first drove up I was a bit taken back because looking at reviews and photos and then going in person it looked very different. Granted it's end of winter. However, once we got inside staff was super friendly and helpful. The courses were clean and had lots of depth to them. Very family friendly. They do have non alcoholic drinks as well as beirgarten with draft beers. There is a food truck however when we went they were only open for a private party.
We have been going to Cool Crest Miniature Golf for decades. But, this is the first time our band was able to play at the Biergarten. The drinks were cold and they have a food truck serving hamburgers and chicken dishes. The staff was amazing and there was security on hand to make sure everyone had a pleasant evening. Always family and pet-friendly.
I visited for the first time this past weekend, and it was a great experience. It had the charm of a typical putt-putt course, with both an easy and advanced side to choose from. It was also budget-friendly for two people, which was a nice bonus. The plants added a pleasant scenic touch to the atmosphere.
It is a beautiful Putt Putt tropical theme course for all ages. There are two different courses to choose from. Easy and hard. We decided to played on the hard side. It was challenging but still fun even for beginners. Hole #13 was unique. We had to chip the ball over a little bridge with water. We were not excepting it but made the shot exciting. On the weekends there is live music/band with food and alcoholic drinks. We will definitely come back on the weekend to try our luck again.
YOU NEED TO VISIT THIS PLACE!!! My family had so much fun playing mini-golf and listening to some great live music with the Jaime Varela Band! Didn't hurt that I could enjoy a victory beer after a warm night and 18 holes of fun in the newly added Metzger Bier Garten - great draft and bottle selection! After our first time here, it's easy to see how this place has been around since 1929. It's good old-fashioned fun on an impeccably well maintained course (two courses w different difficulties) surrounded by beautiful flowers and landscaping. No cheesy windmills or funny faces to hit into, just challenging slopes and well placed traps to keep you on your toes! My kids are already talking about how we need to make this a monthly routine. We'll definitely be back!
We visited this establishment for the first time last night and it was so much fun!!! The challenging course was super fun. The sushi was delicious. Mario at the bar is very welcoming and friendly. The employees were all very attentive and friendly. There was an all women Cumbia band and dancing because there is a dance floor and a stage that adds a nice touch to the whole atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting this place again.
There are two different 18-hole courses to choose from - both are well-maintained and easy to maneuver. There are also limited concessions if you need a drink or snack. Live music is available on some nights - check the site directly to determine what nights they have music. As far as the golfing goes, this is a classic venue with simple mini-golf obstacles. Each of the courses has fun holes; all are do-able and mildly challenging. This is a great place for a family outing, a fun date or even a team-building excursion. It can get a little warm if you come during the summer but there is plenty of shade and benches at every hole. The price is also affordable which makes it even more attractive. I highly recommend for a fun night out.
Great hidden spot! I’ve lived in San Antonio for almost eight years now. My parents were in town and I was looking for a COVID-19 safe outdoor activity to do. It was a very hot evening but the place was well shaded. It was clean and it smelled really nice. The equipment was ordered well and the process was relatively easy. We had tons of fun. I will say that the course is really tight so careful walking around! Staff was absolutely the friendliest. I saw the beer garden on the side. We didn’t get any beer but I saw a couple of people enjoying their cold beers while playing. Definitely coming back!
I only came here for drinks and music so I can’t speak about the golf course, but the space has a really cool retro vibe (it was established a long time ago so the vibe is legit). The music was good but there wasn’t enough space in front of the band so we had to sit far away (but we could still hear). They had good drinks, but it was a bit more expensive than I expected. They said they had food trucks and perhaps they did, but I didn’t see. Overall, cool vibe. Just would’ve liked a place closer to the band and cheaper drinks. Oh! And parking isn’t great…we had to park down the road a bit so beware - not much parking on-site.
Used to be a great kid-friendly place. The biergarten was especially nice for parents with children. A few years ago it was a great place to bring the kids, who could play with other kids while the parents could watch them, listen to the live music, and drink some beer. Unfortunately, it changed over time to the point where you rarely see kids on that side because of management and their changed attitude towards families with children. They started harassing kids who brought toys to play with. My son brought a back pack with his Polar Express train. He set it up with another boy, out of the way and not near any areas where anyone could walk. The manager brought the set over one piece at a time and slammed them down on our table. Several of my friends were there and were shocked by his behavior. For some reason he never did seem to like my boy and always found excuses to pick on him. This is the same manager who let his dog roam the place, unleashed, and whose dog attacked another dog on a leash with his very elder owner who tried to stop the attack only to be attacked by the dog. The elder gentleman had to sit for quite a spell to recover. Of course we know there is a fine for allowing a dog to go with no leash and, as well, as a business they could be sued for such carelessness. After a while I noticed there were rarely any kids showing up. One of the owners met with me to complain about my son running around. He told me there were some teenagers leaning against some railing in the biergarten area talking and he told them to go and sit with their parents. What teenagers do you know who would ever want to go back there after that? And what parents? It is sad to see the change at such a historically significant place. If they want to continue to generate business and grow they should understand it is supposed to be a family place, not a place where kids have to sit at attention while their dogs are free to roam around.
