Great dining experience. The turkey club salad is absolutely delicious and our waiter, I believe it was Alberto, was very attentive. He recommended the cucumber mint martini and it did not disappoint.

Food is absolutely delicious 😋. Service is always good. Seating was immediate but during dinners it can be longer. Parking can be a slight walk depending on how busy they are.

Delicious lunch! We had the ceviche, wedge salad (big enough for two!), veal parmesan and of course the shrimp paesano. Everything was delicious and we topped it off with the toffee banana bread pudding 🤤🤤🤤. Had a lavender lemon drop martini and a blueberry old fashioned. Both drinks were great. Paesanos is the place you’d want to take your date or family for consistently great Italian. The ambiance is amazing! Why? Because the lighting is perfect for something intimate OR a lively get together. It’s one of those restaurants that make it easy to just sit and talk for three hours. How do I know? That’s what we did! Our server, Alberto, was super attentive and accommodating. We were not in want of bread, that’s for sure! The food was wonderfully prepared, delicious, and hot. Sauces were not overwhelming nor too subtle. We loved the atmosphere, the service, and the food!

Firsr time at this restaurant for a reception. Very nice and casual but still very tastefully appointed place. Only had limited menu choices as is typical for large group reservations. I had the shrimp pasta which was good. Shrimps were very fresh, with the spaghetti al dente and a very good sauce. The wait staff were very friendly and courteous. It was not very crowded but a lot of people were coming in to pick up to-go orders. M The other menu choices were chicken piccata and pot roast. My dining companions seemed to like them. Will definitely come back and try their other menu items.

This was my first time to eat here. I had the Chicken Parmigiana. It came with a house salad, large chicken breast, and lots of spaghetti. I had two meals out of it. The food tasted great. The staff was very attentive.

We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary today and our meal was delicious! Great customer service and we dined in and had no issues with social distancing. Everything was nice.

We had the smoked salmon, Caesar salads, shrimp paesano and calamari as an appetizer. All did not disappoint, the calamari is always so meaty and delicious. The salmon dish was on the spicy/smoky side, but I later realized it was because of the peppers on the brocollini. If you don’t like spicy this may not be the fish for you. Our waiter was very attentive, and during lunch the restaurant was not as busy so we were sat pretty quickly. We were stuffed and satisfied, and would definitely return.

I, always, love and recommend Paesanos off of 1604! The customer service, Italian food, and wine selection are fantastic! I have had many events, as well as recommended multiple events to be held at this location and it never disappoints. I am always so impressed by the level of customer service and flexibility of the staff, management, and restaurant altogether. Celebrated my sister in law’s 72nd birthday @ Paesano’s Italian Restaurant on 1604, San Antonio, Texas. The food was delicious, service was amazing & the atmosphere was beautiful & relaxing. We ordered Eggplant Parmesan, Cheese Ravioli w/Grilled Chicken & Veal Parmesan. It was perfecto! She’s from CA & was very happy with our choice of restaurant.

Attached is Cappellini Pomodoro Crudo with garlic,basil,mozzarella and custom sauce (tomatoe sauce and alfredo),Fettuccine Alfredo and Spaghetti with meat sauce all very tasty. Also, they serve with bread with olive oil and hummus. Atmosphere pleasant . Prices vary from $10-$40. Upscale restaurant however, from hostess to waiters very attentive and courteous. Even though they are busy they apologize for the delay and makes you feel welcome.

The food & ambiance are amazing here! The giant calamari is absolutely delicious, and it was cooked perfectly. The cucumber martini was very tasty and we were lucky because we got to sit by the fire place on a chilly night. My eggplant parmigiana (not pictured) was delicious too.

Excellent food. You can't go wrong with shrimp paisano. We arrived a little before 3pm, so we were given the lunch menu. My husband wanted a steak which is on the dinner menu. Waitress said the grill isn't fired up until 4pm. So we waited until 4pm to order his steak. Other than that little quirk, everything else tasted great

We had a wonderful experience here. Our family was a large group celebrating an anniversary. While waiting for our group, we sat at the bar for a drink. The bartender greeted us quickly and treated us well. For dinner, we were in the wine room. The room was set very nicely with linens. The server was wonderful. She took very good care of our large group with no issues. The food was delicious! I had the orange roughy which was cooked perfect. Everyone else also loved the food. I will be back.

Very nice location and the staff definitely remember the repeat customers by name. Staff is remarkable, drinks are on point, and the food is amazing. I ordered the calamari as an appetizer, chef’s pasta dish of the day with an old fashioned. I would’ve licked the plate clean but thankfully they provide free bread for that! Kids ordered spaghetti and cheese pizza and they too enjoyed every bite.

I was beyond grateful to find a restaurant to accommodate a party of 13 people, at last minute. The wait was barely an hr, if that. I was at the bar drinking my "pretty in pink" drink...waiting for our table. The restaurant is lovely. Packed with people and now I can see why. The food is delicious! This is authentic Italian food. Our server Jason was quite helpful and funny. I was thinking of getting the Chicken Parmigiana but he recommended the Veal Parmigiana. It was INCREDIBLE! I've not eaten veal in ages. My nephew ate a steak with lavender French fries and it was pretty great. The prices for the plate were fair and plenty. EVERYONE enjoyed their meals. Delicious food and great service. There's a lot of seating inside and outside. They have a beautiful courtyard as well as different rooms you can rent for parties. Lots of places to take pictures at as well!! I highly recommend coming here whether it be for a date, formal event, business dinner, or a party! Always enjoy coming here!

We ordered calamari for the table, and my main dish was the lobster ravioli. I highly recommend this dish. I capped it off with an espresso which come out with 2 mini-biscottis. Very friendly service and great flavors. The menu offers a little bit for every taste, and presentation is appealing as well. Outdoor seating is available (and covered) when the weather is good, and inside is a darker more intimate setting. Early dinner time seems to be great for quiet and private place for a business meeting. Great atmosphere! My one request would be that there be a few more (darker) beer options, but certainly not a necessity for the venue, especially with the full bar and thorough wine selection.

I visited for the first time on a Saturday afternoon and had a lovely experience! We started with the calamari, which was delicious—especially paired with that sweet and spicy sauce. For the main, I highly recommend the SA style pizza (we added pepperoni and it was 10/10). While the fettuccine Alfredo didn't quite hit the mark for me (I didn’t like that the sauce was a little sweet) the Parmesan-crusted chicken was great!! A huge plus is their Happy Hour, which runs Tuesday–Saturday (11 am–6 pm) and all day Sunday and Monday. I can’t wait to come back for more pizza, drinks, and to try something new!

Our server, Payton was the best! We enjoyed our early dinner experience without any hiccups. Payton came back often to see if we needed anything! I called the manager over to let her know it was one of our best experiences in their fine restaurant.

Since arriving the hostess was very friendly and smiling quickly taking my wife to our table while I parked the truck. Once back they showed me exactly where my wife was. Soon after we met our waiter Adalberto what a fine person he was very knowledgeable of the dinner menu and Wine menu. A few minutes passed. We met the General Manager of Paesanos Mark. What a terrific man he went out of his way to make our stay memorable. The Lobster Ravioli, Baked Ziti, Santa margarita Pinot Grigio and Malbec were outstanding. The butternut squash soup wasn’t that great. Ruth Cris has it better. The the bread and hummus was good and oil to dip. The Creme Brûlée was exceptional and the cappuccino was outstanding 5 out 5 Stars

I've been to Paesanos Riverwalk in the past but opted for the location where parking was much easier for our out-of-town friends who were in the mood for some good Italian fare. The food never disappoints and the drinks were just as enjoyable. Granted, the portions were on the small side for the price, but you get what you pay for. The atmosphere was intimate and the service was very friendly. Definitely recommend for any type of celebration or just a nice dinner out on the town.

It was our first time there and loved the bread and escargot as an appetizer. I will definitely be returning again and possibly enjoying the outdoor seating area that has a small waterfall/fountain.

We were there on a very special occasion, a large memorial dinner. So I have no concept of prices. Everything was delicious. Great food, drinks, and service. The environment was lovely and we were able to park quite easily.

My husband and I just left after eating some of the most delicious foods! The red fish and baby scallops ceviche was so fresh, the brie bruschetta was amazing with a great flavor mix from the tomato-pepper marmelade, I had the quail with chorizo grits and black beans, what a delicous combination! And my husband had the lamb with mint and goat mashed potatoes with grilled asparagus: this was like fireworks in your mouth! We finished with the Amaretto crême brûlée, and the bread pudding with cinnamon ice-cream, what a treat!!! Our waiter, Alberto, was perfect, always at our table on point, and with great food recommendations 😀 👌 😊 We will definitely be back...soon!!!

Dinner was exquisite, the wine was very good, I recommend the house’s Cabernet, delicious, smells very good, tastes super good and is strong. We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer and it was delicious, lasagna and delicious pasta too. The atmosphere is nice but I put about 4 starts and I would like to recommend some classic and elegant instrumental music in the restaurant, I didn’t hear any music while we were eating, I only heard the people at each table talking and I felt like I was in a dining room with many people talking at the same time. Everything else very good, in general very good restaurant. Yes, I recommend it and we are thinking of going again some other day.

I actually found this restaurant thanks to ChatGPT and I couldn’t be happier with the choice. Ambiance & Service: Booking a reservation online was seamless, and there were plenty of time slots available. But what really set the tone was seeing my name when we arrived and being escorted to the back seating area—an intimate space with walls lined with wine bottles. A perfect touch! Our server was fantastic, attentive, and made sure our experience was nothing short of excellent. We chose the Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon, and it was absolutely delicious—bold, smooth, and exactly what we wanted for the night. The Food: Since the menu was preset for Valentine’s Day, we decided to add an appetizer, and wow, the fried calamari was something else. If you think you’ve had good calamari before—trust me, you haven’t. This was next level—tender, not chewy, and paired with a sweet chili sauce that balanced it perfectly. For the main course, we had the Chicken Picatta with lemon butter caper sauce and the Shrimp Paesano. Both were phenomenal, and I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite. The chicken was beautifully cooked with a light, crisp breading—not over-fried, just perfect. And the shrimp? That butter sauce was so good, I’d inject it straight into my veins if I could. Dessert: To top it all off, we ended with a classic American cheesecake, and it was the cherry on top of an already perfect meal. From start to finish, this dinner was an absolute 10/10. My boyfriend had the Shrimp Paesano with added crab stuffed lobster tail, lemon and garlic butter sauce spaghetti noodles. When I tell you we both agreed it was one of the best pasta dishes we’ve ever tried. Absolutely amazing!!! I had the Chicken Parmigiana. It was also delicious, large panko breaded chicken breast over a bed of spaghetti and delicious red sauce. I was glad the red sauce was nice and smooth instead of chunky. I can’t stand chunky tomato sauce with a million pieces of tomato. I had a strawberry lemon drop and it was very strong but the flavor was delicious. Overall we would come back any day for a date night. We had such an amazing dinning experience here.

I had the Jalapeno Pesto Fazzaletti and it was delicious, but they served it in plate with a deep center which made it hard to cut into. The calamari was delicious. Definitely my favorite Paesanos in San Antonio.

Excellent food and the location is wonderful because it feels like a retreat. The garlic bread, salad , main dish and dessert was phenomenal. The service is good but compared to upper ranked restaurants the waiter could have been more personable. Overall a great place to dine as a couple or in groups.

It's been a while. It wasn't as great as I remember it being. It was good. Just not as great. Our server was fantastic the ambiance was inviting in beautiful and warm. Maybe a drink in the appetizer before an evening out.

lovely meal, customer service was AMAZING!!! Calamari was a different cut than we are used to. The apple tart was OMGOSH with the cinnamon ice cream!

I had a chicken parmesan which was better than all other restaurants. Very well cooked with good flavor. I particularly like how they made the breading. However, the dish could have used more sauce for the spaghetti. Over all good entree, service and atmosphere.

Last week was only the second time I've been to Paesano's. It was the first time for my husband and Dad. Overall, it was a good experience for us. My husband had the pineapple chipotle margarita, I had the blood orange martini and my Dad had the Virgil's rootbeer. My drink was slightly bitter. We started off with the shrimp Paesano's which was great then we enjoyed the salads that came with our entrées. My husband had the chicken parmagiana and Dad and I shared the Bandera quail. It was all 5 stars up to this point. We decided to try the Kahlua chocolate tres leches and that seemed like a miss. It was moist which tres leches should be but the chocolate cake was too dense. That's why the 4 star review. The next time I would choose a different dessert. Service was a 5 star experience.

This restaurant has a long-standing reputation of serving quality Italian food in an elegant setting. Before dinner the server will bring you out some hot sourdough bread with olive oil and hummus on the side. Tonight I ordered the veal parmesan which came on top of your choice of pasta and in my case, I usually go with the angel hair. This also came with a side salad. We ordered calamari as an appetizer but I can honestly say that it was not very good calamari. In my opinion, calamari should be fried baby squid. This calamari was long pieces of a mystery meat, breaded and fried. They were about the size of an adults middle finger. Was it made from real squid? Who knows. Another reason I gave them only four stars was that our server messed up twice. He brought my mother veal parmesan instead of eggplant parmesan and he didn't bring my salad out to me until the others had finished their salads. I had to ask him for it. He apologized and said, oh I forgot. Then, the salad he brought me tasted like it had been sitting on the counter for 20 or 30 minutes. Will I go back? Yeah, I'll go back. I mean it was not a bad experience it just has some room for improvement. The food was good and was served with generous portions.

I gave the food 3 stars only because of my entree. The appetizer (shrimp Paesano) was a 10!…the bread/hummus/oil, my daughter’s lemon chicken (basically chicken paesano), our deserts, and even the fresh house salad was delicious! My lamb entree was a 3 at the very most:( The plate was presented and there was nothing “wow” about it…I was already disinterested. The lamb hadn’t rested properly before slicing and was sitting in blood and it was a bit tough . The asparagus hadn’t been trimmed and parts were inedible. They both had an overpowering charred (not burned), almost fake taste. The mint chimichurri was lacking in mint flavor and thick . The goat cheese mash were the best part of the dish but they should not have been the star of the plate. And the entire plate was room temp at best. Having it it refired naturally cooked the meat further to a medium/medium well I should’ve done what I knew to do. I should’ve sent it back and ordered something else. It put a small damper on my birthday celebration We will be back but I’ll definitely stay away from anything “grilled”

Amazing food server a little slow and not engaged. Not welcoming just straight to our drink order and placing order right away. He seemed uninterested. But overall GREAT food and atmosphere.

A beautiful restaurant with good food and service. I had the Shrimp Paesano Petite and enjoyed it. Though I did like it I found it to be a bit expensive. But again it's a beautiful restaurant seemingly set in the woods so this is more about the experience than the food itself in my opinion. The ambiance was warm and sophisticated. I'm sure it's even more lovely at night and a perfect place for a romantic evening.

We made reservations a while before we went. We had a large party. Took over 40mins after we sat down to get our drinks and bread. Then the waiter finally took out order. He was EXTREMELY rude. He threw several plants down in front of my family members who are 70+ yrs old. He was very impatient with older people. Food was incredible. Our waiter Julio was AWFUL!!!! The back up waiter or assistant he had was WAY better.. he was friendly and very helpful. Will try a different restaurant for our next big party. Restaurant is very pretty inside. It is however very loud and hard to hear people that are right next to you.

Mediocre all the way. Just ho-hum. We were craving shrimp Paesano, but it was delivered just warm at best. It was super rich; butter was overdone. It ended up making me sick. We love the hummus dip they serve with their bread, but it was definitely old and not a fresh batch. It tasted rotten. When we told our waiter, he just brought us oil instead of trying to replace it. They could have cared less, and did not address the issue. Not acceptable.

To go - 3/15/23 @853pm - Togo specialist couldn’t say if the lasagna could feed 1 or 2 people. She said “I don’t know” - following that, as I heat up the cold food at home, the bread smells like crayon wax, and the lasagna did not smell or taste good. Chicken parm was tough, but angel hair pasta was delicious. I ordered an extra side of parm for the oil and only received the parm for the salad. I ordered extra Cesar dressing for the bread and only received it for the salad. Salad was whimsy and old. The ticket itself never showed the additions. My husband ate the food because he was hungry, and I must say, for $80 dollars my luck was probably Better at the local Olive Garden.

Have eaten here on multiple occasions but did takeout most recently due to having a toddler at home. The portions were laughable especially for what we paid. Ordered lamb shank. What we got was clearly a lamb chop. No shank. Ordered 2 veal shanks. Again - no shank and one veal portion was laughable and clearly smaller than the other. Ordered a burrata and beet appetizer. The “burrata” size was similar to a baby pearl ball. The asparagus we ordered had 8 pieces. Actually drove back to question this and was told the manager was too busy and the portion sizes was how they do things now. See pictures below for your entertainment.

We had a great dinner here last night. The food was excellent, the atmosphere and staff were welcoming, and overall it was an enjoyable night for me and the wife The only downside was noticing an employee drinking in the back parking lot. It didn’t ruin the meal, but it was concerning and made us wonder whether proper safety precautions were being followed when handling our food. We’ll keep this in mind if we decide to return in the future.
