Relaxing atmosphere. Fantastic service staff, Hillary especially! Superb ding selection. I'd suggest the Wedge Salad, Shrimp & Grits, & the chicken breast w/ squash/carrots medley.
It's been years since my wife and I dined here. It was better than I remembered! I had the duck and my wife had the Chilean bass. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was elegant, sophisticated, relaxed and modern. The price didn't break the bank which was pleasant surprise. The quality and presentation of the food top tier. Spent under 200 dollars for a dinner for 2 with drinks. Will be returning
This is easily the most spectacular food I’ve had in the entire city. I had the chefs special of Red Fish and Couscous, the Mr. had the Ribeye and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. For cocktails, we had the sorbetto and an old fashioned, both were made with love. If you’re reading this, book a reservation immediately.
Great experience. Best steak I've ever had. The Chilean seabass was succulent. The wait staff was funny. Overall great experience.
Everything about the experience was outstanding. My appetizer was chicken fried oysters. They were perfectly fried, crisp, and served on a bed of greens with tasty hollandaise sauce. The lamb chops were fabulous! They were seasoned well, and cooked with a delicious crust on the outside with the inside meat medium rare. The lamb fat was rendered, exactly as it should be. The coconut pie is always incredible. The two types of bread, served without having to ask for it, were thick chunks of cheese bread and a grain bread with tiny bits of fruit in it. Both types of bread were fantastic, served hot with butter on the side. Service was perfect — attentive, but not at all hovering. The ambiance is warm, classy and comfortable. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Silo on 1604.
I’ve been going to Silo on 1604 for years. The food, ambiance and staff are suberb. Last night, our server, David, was so attentive and sweet. We always enjoy our visits there and highly recommend you enjoy it for a special occasion or anytime!
Place was very nice, they have a great chef cause wow the flavors. We had the crabcake with the dill tarter mmmm. I had the roasted duck and the ol lady had the pork shank. Both were great..... but that pork shank with mac n cheese were perfect. We added some side items, I got the fried oysters (large) and the wife got the poached crab...not what was expected but still great. Serive was top notch, thank you David. Yes the price per person is in fact in the $50-$100 range. However; we didnt even eat the add ons the portions were far more than expected. Left full and feeling the restraunts delicious food is worth every dollar charged. Will be back for sure, looking forward to try that rack of lamb.
My recent visit to SILO in San Antonio was a delightful experience. The ambience was great, setting the perfect tone for an enjoyable evening. Our waiter, David, truly stood out with his excellent service, warm personality, and detailed knowledge about the dishes. He regularly checked in to see if we needed anything and even brought refills without us having to ask. The appetizers and main course were delicious and served in just the right portions. Overall, I highly recommend SILO for its wonderful dining experience. When you visit, be sure to ask for David as your waiter to ensure an exceptional service.
Silo serves contemporary American cuisine. Accessible through Nona Osteria and an elevator to the 2nd floor, the restaurant boasts a serene ambiance perfect for a quiet evening out. The custom green apple martinis were a strong and enjoyable start, followed by a fantastic jumbo lump crab cake appetizer which I highly recommend. The oak-grilled Atlantic salmon and off-menu grouper entrees were both delicious and well-received. Their crème brûlée and citrus cheesecake were equally delightful. Randy, the attentive and helpful server, enhanced our dining experience. Overall, our experience at Silo Restaurant was fantastic. From the impeccable dishes to the outstanding service, we left satisfied and impressed.
Hadn't been to Silo in 10 years so we made date night plans to visit. Overall enjoyable meal, atmosphere, and service. Burnt Old Fashioned would have been elevated with a large cube rather than a glass of ice maker ice. I subbed the Dickel rye for their house 4 roses bourbon. It was tasty. Duck egg rolls were good and the sauce was a nice burst of flavor. The salmon was delicious and liked the way it was cooked with a little crust on the sides. The Chicken fried oysters entree was good. Felt like it could have a stronger punch of flavor since it's their signature dish. Has lots of texture with the pasta, spinach and the fried oysters; however, would have liked a little bolder flavor. We'll make sure to not wait another decade before we return.
Absolutely phenomenal dining experience! OMG what a great dinner. Chef John at Silo on 1604. The food is simply amazing. The staff is phenomenal. His attention to detail made this such a memorable meal. Such an amazing talented Chef. The appetizer plate of the sampler, divine, those spring rolls, and ceviche so yummy. The salads so fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The steak and scallops were divine. Every course was so impressive. So glad to spend some family time in this amazing restaurant. Such a beautiful atmosphere. Thank you. Chef John. Our palate will never be the same, you really spoiled us. My son loved the salad and he never eats salad. He tried shrimp and grits and he has found his love for grits. The desserts are just clouds of heaven. Thank you Silo 1604!
I'd give Silo 6 stars if I could! I made reservations for me and my wife's Anniversary. We arrive about 10 minuets early, there were a few people waiting in the lobby, we gave the young lady our name and she got the elevator for us and sent us up. We arrived up top to be greeted by another young lady who sat us down. And not 15 seconds later Katie our server rolled up and brought us water, and asked us for our drink order and app order. The drinks came out quickly, and wow were they good! Soon after the apps arrived, Foie Gras something I've never had before and wow it was delicious, we also had the Duck Eggrolls, so crispy and flavorful and the dip was bright and crisp! Katie cleared our table and brought us all new silverware and plates, with some warm bread and butter! Soon after the entree's arrived we both got fish, my wife the Chilean Sea Bass and me the Halibut! Both were so good, fresh tasting, and perfectly cooked. After that we boldly decided to get a dessert, already stuffed to the brim we got the Vanilla Crème Brulee! It has a great hard candy shell and sweet creamy filling with fresh fruit!! We also got complimentary champagne and an Happy Anniversary from Katie! We were so very full, satisfied, and Happy with the entire night! Definitely a night to remember, can't wait until the next time!
I made a reservation here after doing some research and seeing how much it was talked about. I must say I am not disappointed at all. I was greeted very nicely and seated quickly, after the seats I got were not what I wanted, I was quickly helped to accommodate my preferred seating. The food did take a while to come out however it was well worth the wait, the food was rich and flavorful and cooked perfectly. I had ordered a ton of stuff and had no problem finishing all of it. The steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it. The lobster Mac & cheese was a great pairing with the steak as a side. I had also ordered king crab legs which were amazing when paired with the butter sauce provided. I look forward to returning here in the future and eating again.
This used to be my favorite restaurant but after this experience, I will not be back. I went in for lunch and got the striped sea bass special. The bass was quite fishy on the skin side and a bit overcooked on the flesh side. The risotto on the plate was lacking flavor and salt would have been appreciated. Service was pleasant but rushed; it seemed the server was busy with other tables.
The food was really good, the service was very good too. That's why it's so expensive over there😅 The cooking is of a really high class though. I did not like the atmosphere at all. Last year we were in a separate room, it felt like office. It is not cozy from any point, looks very official, no warmth.. But this year we dined in a big room and it was evening and the soft lights looked much cozier. The toilet was very dirty!! Like, really?..
If you are looking for fine dining, here it is. Silo, has some of the best food around. Everything from the appetizer to the entrees to the wine was outstanding. This is one of those places that you go to on special occasions or when you are trying to impress or you are just used to the finer things in life. The Waiter ran down the daily specials from memory ( & it was a lot of information ). The views are great, especially at Sunset. Great Dining experience.
Met a group for lunch, this was my first time having lunch. I've had dinner here twice before. The menu offerrings are pretty typical for lunch. I had a wedge salad and the duck spring rolls because nothing else stood out, the rest of the group had a mix of seafood and chicken. Nobody thought the dishes were anything special. Based on my dinner dining experiences I expected better overall especially for a higher lunch price point. Probably won't be back unless the menu changes.
Went for the new years experience! Outstanding! Food... service... atmosphere! Everything was fresh and delicious. On top of pleasing to the eye... its as good as it looks.... A short update We enjoyed new years so much that we decided to go back for Valentine's Day. However, almost everything went wrong. Everything was overcooked. Everything was a little off. Compared to the first time we went for the experience situation. So for me, I'm going to have to say this place is hit or miss
Monday's are half price wine bottles (+$50). We started our evening off by a bottle of DAOU Chardonnay and ordering 2 oysters of each: 2 Sex on the Bay, 2 Chebooktook, 2 Princess Delights, 2 Rappahannock, but we wound up getting 3 of each so instead of 8 oysters we ended up with 12 oysters. They offered to fix the bill and allow us to keep the extra oysters. We then had a bowl of the clam chowder and we split this and it was magnificent! Lastly, was our entree that we split, Miso Glazed Salmon. The order arrived already split, however, the Salmon was very undercooked. They removed our plates and attempted another Salmon, and although more cooked then the previous, still undercooked. Unfortunately, they don't keep the wine bottle on the table as they want to chill it in a larger community chiller. However, when we were asked if we would like two more glasses of wine, our understanding was that we still had wine left in our wine bottle, but after looking at the receipt, we were charged for 2 glasses of wine. So we ordered a $56 bottle of wine, at 50% off it is $28 off. It just so happens that two glasses of wine also cost $28. So instead of letting us know we had finished our wine bottle and it would be more economical to order another bottle, the waiter made us believe we had more wine left in the bottle, but actually gave us two glasses of full price wine. We normally love SILO, but this time it was not an enjoyable time nor was it enjoyable to feel like we were taken advantage of financially. We were not comped anything for the undercooked fish. Better communication and customer service would have gone a long way in making this a better experience for everyone.
After conducting research to find a nice restaurant to take my wife for Valentine’s Day, I was impressed by the overwhelmingly positive reviews and decided to reserve a table for two. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the waiter provided attentive service. However, the food did not meet expectations. The quality was below what I anticipated, and the wait time for a single entrée was excessive especially considering the restaurant was not busy at the time. Although my wife encouraged me to address the issue with the waiter, given the extended delay we had already experienced, I felt it was best to simply finish the meal and continue with our plan. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I do not plan to return.
Very disappointed tonight - our waiter was very rude - he only wanted to explain the specials when everyone was at the table he “Didn’t want to have to repeat himself” we ate with dirty silverware. Wine was never offered during our meal silo has gone downhill think twice if you’re going here head over to JW Marriott seven star restaurant if you want good service. Manager? Who’s knows? Asked the hostess she just said sorry he’s not here, Don’t wast your time!
