The management obviously sticks by good principles thank you for removing employees from your staff that assault young boys. I'll definitely be going out of my way to check this place out.
Formerly a gas station that was closed for years, this new trendy spot serves some very good house cocktails. The patio area is large with plenty of seating and a great spot to people watch the St Mary's strip as the patio area is enclosed by a low wall with mostly unobstructed views of the strip and people coming and going from the paper tiger.
Never been to this place, but after seeing their post on their former employee I’ll be sure to scope it out eventually. Seems like a great place with professional owners (which seems rare these days). Good stuff.
Great work firing Jimenez Kino. You did the right thing. When come back to San Antonio, I'll stop by and enjoy the house specials. Hell, I'll even watch the Spurs with ya guys!
Note I have not been to Rumble Bar. However, I commend them for terminating a violent employee. Regardless of the political reasons you engage in violence and theft, it should not be acceptable in the United States of America. This was also a wise business move, as who knows what kind of liability Kino Jimenez may have created for them in the future due to has horrible ethics and violent tendencies. Thanks, Rumble Bar for taking swift action. I salute you!
This is the ONLY place to go when you're in San Antonio. Great food, great atmosphere. I can really relax and just be me with my friends there. Great job guys!
Pretty chill bar. I had a few drinks there before catching a show next door. Bartender was friendly and prices are decent. Will stop by again if I'm in the area.
Besides political ties, I’m a 18 year old Hispanic. The 30 Year old, Kino Jimenez caused his own actions to be fired. Very Well Rumble with your decision. I have a family business as well and I would’ve done the same thing. Keep up the great work Rumble!
After standing up for the right thing and firing that piece of garbage for bullying that boy I will ALWAYS come here!! I've never been but this will ALWAYS be my new hang out!! Well done!!
Cuz it's a good social bar to hang with friends. Just uber though there's has been too many cops stalking people to find them driving while seen drinking.
HANDSSSS DOWN! Best vibes best drinks best drinks!!! Also South Park is on, THE BEST!! I will bring my friends from out of town here!
I want to take the time to thank the owners and/or people who made the decision to not allow an employee to have conduct that was clearly unbecoming of any rational human being! I have not been to San Antonio, but if I ever am I will be looking up your place of business as it is an example of good character and morals. Thank you!!!!
I have never been. But I will be doing a job there in October I will gladly come by and support your establishment. With all that is going on in our country I want to say thank you for doing the right thing. Others should fallow suit. This is not ok for either side . America!
Visited friday night, had a great time. Even wearing my Keep America Great Hat everyone was friendly and welcoming. Way to show equality and fairness! Will definitely be visiting again.
Amazing people! Lost my wallet during the 4th of July, they found it and kept it until I returned from Dallas. Had to stay a second time just for their Mangonadas, which are great during the hot San Antonio weather. Whenever we’re in town we will definitely come here for drinks!
The way this company handled the "Whataburger MAGA hat" incident should be taught in business schools. This is how smart compassionate business owners handle situations like this. This is exactly the same course of action and statement that should be made if the kid was wearing an Obama hat. It's a shame that people are leaving 1 star reviews on Google and Yelp and making up stories about this being a racist Trump loving establishment, which is pretty laughable. The business is on St. Mary's right in the heart of the San Antonio Gay District and the majority of their customers are probably left leaning. They have shown that they are open and respectful of people of all backgrounds and opinions. I have not been here yet, but I plan to go this evening. I want to reward businesses that truly welcome everyone.
Place is great before 9pm (but mostly because my bedtime is 10) love the patio. Love the design of the place. Love the food options near by. I got a beer so I can't comment on the cocktails. But I'll be back for sure.
One of my favorite spots to grab a drink in SA. The frozen drinks are delicious and the happy hour prices can’t be beat. Everyone is very friendly and there’s plenty of seating for groups of all sizes. We will be regulars here!
Thank you for being an upstanding business and encouraging equal treatment of people. Please do yourself a favor and don't hire anymore radical left militants. They are becoming more and more violent. Anybody who says F Trump can't be trusted anymore
I just wanted to say Thank you for being they type of business who abhors any type of assault on any individual reguardless of any reason! If I find myself in San Antonio I will definitely be by to buy the owner a drink or two!! GREAT JOB!!! A CREDIT TO YOUR BUSINESS!!
Best bar on the St. Mary's strip. Dog friendly, great prices, and awesome music. Hot drinks in the winter and frozen drinks in the summer. Beer & shot combos. Right next door to a music venue. Win-win.
Thanks for standing up to the bullying that continues to go on against Trump supporters. Maybe if more public establishments did the right thing, by firing the person doing the bullying, when it comes to their businesses reputation less people would be inclined to behave so poorly. If ever I’m in San Antonio (LA girl) I’ll be sure and stop by. Please continue to stand up against those who bully others. Trump/Pence🇺🇸2020
5 stars cause Merica', this is Texas. Southern hospitality goes a long way. I'm a Trump loving Republican and I'm glad ya'll don't get into politics. Ya'll simply want to have a respectful establishment unlike other places of business. Thank you for having standards for the people that serve your customers.
If you want to pregame or don't know where to start the night off. This is the spot. Great service, great music, great atmosphere plus awesome food trucks as well as local vendors(3rd Eye Gems). Let's party!!!
Been here a few times while in SA on business. Their service is actually pretty good. How they treat employees that don't share their political views seemed to be divisive. Now, we know that they have video and hold to the status that they believe everyone has the right to believe what they want and have a safe space in SAT. Good for you guys.
This was a really chill place to hang out after attending a show at the Paper Tiger. The DJ was willing to play any song for karaoke. It seems like the staff has changed since the bad reviews, but I don't attend enough to know.
Was my last day in San Antonio, and my crew decided to go out Love there, drinks, especially their frozen drinks and 4 dollar shots. Need to try the butter beer shot.
Great drinks for a decent price and also a really dope atmosphere. The music was great for a Saturday night and the cocktails were on point no matter how busy the bar went. I would go there on pay day cause it's a bit pricy but the quality is worth it. And the taco truck on the side is really good and they let you take the food inside! Will be back for sure!
Great place. Love atmosphere..drinks are a bit pricey. Well margaritas are .wish we can get more for 7 $ ..instead of a lil cup. But I saw happy hour pricing and I will go back with my hubby to enjoy a date night.
The bartender is so nice! he made a specialty drink for my friend's birthday and it was so strong it knocked me off my ass! The bar is a hole in the wall but I think that's what made it such a unique place. You have to stop here for the food trucks outside though!
Wife and I came here to pregame for the Toadies concert at Paper Tiger. Great first impression. Bartender was nice, music was good, pleasant Crowd, nice & chill atmosphere with an outdoor patio area. We liked it. We would definitely come back 👌🏼👌🏼 And The tequila Sucia was great.
I'm here to stand for the bar and their actions for firing an employee after the video came out of his actions. I'm sorry you had to delete your Facebook page but I am sure the support of your establishment far outweighs the few that don't. May you continue to have future success.
I would like to thank the owners for firing that punk who attacked a kid for wearing a political hat. Thank you you fired a third world scum bag . Thanks for not allowing your self to be bullied into supporting political violence!! America is a place people want to live due to political freedom . The guy you fired does not represent that and we thank you for being there for EVERYONE.
I've never been to this establishment, but seeing them terminate an employee because of his intolerance towards other makes me optimistic that the world hasn't completely gone to s$%t. I'll definitely stop in next time I'm in SA, well done Rumble.
Whenever I go to Rumble, I arrive a little after 5:00 PM and although I find myself having to wear sunglasses, it's all good. Chilled atmosphere, good drinks and the music is good and not that loud. There are usually more couples than their are singles. I go to Rumble to chill and have a drink or two. I enjoy the positive vibes and the open patio style seating. The door person will card the customers before entering Rumble and keep the place civil. I always have a great experience whenever I go to Rumble at those hours. 🙂👍 Now that being said, at night and especially after 8:00 PM on Saturdays everything changes. There are more groups at Rumble than there are singles and couples and that's not a bad thing, especially if you enjoy a good drink, good music that is somewhat louder than during late afternoon, and people watching and socializing. The Paper Tiger is next door to Rumble, so many times you'll see patrons of Paper Tiger at Rumble which adds variety of patrons at Rumble. Enjoy 🖖🙂
I have to say I really like this place especially it's friendly to people who ride bikes or people who ride electric vehicles or EUC. I love that it has a big open area. When the weather is bad that's the only bad part that most of it is in the open. I've never really had any problems here and the staff are really nice and polite. Sometimes the bathrooms are a little messy but what can you say about a bar bathrooms. I have no problems with this place this is the one place I like going to because it pretty much accepts anyone.
Rumble is a must for shots when we’re on the strip. Happy hour all day Monday and Tuesday!!! They also have an extensive full bar, frozen drinks, specialty cocktails, and the most delicious shots! We had a watermelon and cucumber one each on the way through. John was behind the bar. He was quick and helpful when we were ordering.
solid open air bar with a patio & projector setup. drink specials are decent, mostly the beer & shot combos. i like the green tea shot but it’s pretty small serving. also it’s very aesthetic with the floor tile, interior lights, disco balls, decor, etc. i noticed the review spamming with negative reviews: i understand that someone who’s legally blind may have been treated unfairly but i’m sure management learned their lesson & fired anyone who was involved in unfair treatment. i’ve had nothing but good times at this bar.
Happy Hour until 9pm EVERYDAY?! The drinks here were great and the bartender was friendly. I couldn’t believe that they had such affordable drinks during happy hour and how long it lasted. I will definitely be coming back here. It is a chill, cute spot to hang with friends and you can’t beat that happy hour deal. The green tea shots were great and the sandia sucia cocktail was delicious. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their signature cocktails and frozen drinks!
Very chill place to go and have a few if you don't feel like hitting up the main spots on the strip. Outside patio with tables if it's a nice night and they let you bring food in from the food trucks outside the bar. Recommend it!
I wanted to compliment the owners of this establishment for issuing the following statement: "Rumble has, and always will be, a bar that is as inclusive as any establishment could possibly be. THIS BAR IS A SAFE SPACE FOR EVERYONE! No matter your race, creed, ethnicity, sexual identity, and political stance, you are welcomed here!’" That is exactly what hospitality is, and when you run a public establishment, it means a lot to people like me. I don't frequent any location that treats people badly, even if I disagree with the group being discriminated against. If you live in San Antonio, make sure to go there and raise a glass to the proprietor for showing everyone what being a fair minded business owner looks like.
Creative and satisfying drinks with a great vibe. The staff is always good. Stephen and Skylar provide awesome service. Saturday night is a bit of a pain to get a drink simply because of the size of the place, but that's not really a big deal. I recommend you have an "El Chapo", that drink is the biz!
No cover and reasonably priced drinks. They have dj's, big outdoor patio, and delicious margaritas. Its a fun social spot where you can chat or dance with friends. The bathroom line can be a long wait tho.
came here on Thursday after a long hard day at the office, computer software manager life, am i right? i couldn't be more amazed at the cleanliness and beauty of these floors, the bartender did an amazing job, and was able to even see my reflection. 4 stars. oh yeah, and the drinks are good !
An old gas station structure turned into an out door bar was done clever. Great beer selections but not much on other drink choices but then it's an outdoor seating, beer drinking place. Oh! They Did have live music and the local band playing was awesome! Beer, live music and outdoors! Great!
This was our third stop from our Saturday night for dinner and a concert. Senor Fish and Sam's Burger joint reviews are in their respective Google maps sections. The venue is right next to the Paper Tiger and open air. The music is loud as a DJ is bumpin' it outside. They have slushie machines with different drinks. They serve seltzers, liquor, and beer. There are two restrooms not designated for anyone to use. It's a neat vibe if you're into a louder atmosphere.
Really cool half outdoor half indoor spot that let's you bring in food from the food trucks near by. We ordered two drinks and ate some oxtail from the gwada soul food truck here! The outdoor section is huge with tons of tables. They have a cool neon rumble sign and a projector screen that played movies. Inside there is a dance floor and a bar to order drinks from. The only downside is that the bathrooms here aren't the cleanest.
I got stuck inside the bathroom for like five minutes; the door wouldn't unlock. After an employee finally jiggled the lock and forced the door open, he didn't do anything to ammend the problem on the door lock, and it happened again to somebody else less than 10 minutes later....
Love the vibe and set up. But not a fan of the specialty drinks so just went for a straight up jack n coke. And the burgers are not as good as I hoped either from the grill out back. In my opnion it is a new overpriced bar on the strip but with a nice set up and feel. Drinks need improved along with the price point reduced.
Good outside atmosphere, good price drinks, but bartender Thalia is ALWAYS rude. Always looks like she rather be anywhere else. Told a bunch of bikers that they couldn’t have water unless they were buying. Male bartender and DJ is always nice and welcoming and even acknowledged who we were, shout out to him. I’d only come by Thursday-Sunday when homeboy is here.
Was here 9/20-9/21 the lovely bartender in the white crop top was amazing. When we asked her to make us w.e she did so happily. Next time we ordered a drink and asked the same, the man in a hat and cut off shirt, shooed us away with his hand and said " nah you don't know what you want" and shooed us away. Bet don't take our money. Not a crazy request or ask, could have literally gave us the most basic thing and wouldn't have complained. Very rude demeanor.
No doubt this is an aesthetically cool spot, but in my experience things have always felt a little off, especially concerning the staff vibes. Also, a bit overpriced imo. Still, if you just want to grab a drink and enjoy a hang with friends in “cool” surroundings then you could do worse.
I'm so disappointed, I always go here once I arrive. Love the atmosphere the service the drinks and I have been coming here for years. I wear San Antonio Texas Spurs jerseys to compliment my home team. I've established a lucrative collection of jerseys and I arrive only to be turned down by the front door man saying I'm no longer allowed to wear my expensive collection of Spurs jerseys. It's upsetting because I spend money when I go. Do not exclude us who wear jerseys, please let the door man know we are paying customers who deserve to enjoy your prestigious bar to dance with our wives. I would greatly appreciate it
Awful place, bad service, nasty food, nasty drinks,I do not recommend at all especially when I just saw how they also discriminate women it's disgusting and not right
So you will fire a guy for something he did off the clock and not at your establishment but won't do anything to a guy who was trying to kick out a girl because she was blind. And I don't know how you stay in business if your employees are always kicking people out.
This bar is incredibly ableist and discriminatory. Additionally, the drinks were not good and the security were incredibly rude. If you want to have an enjoyable experience, go somewhere else.
Went here on my birthday... What a joke. Music was so loud I had a splitting migraine the rest of the night. The "security" guards were down right rude. Expected my bf to wear a mask that fell on the ground to walk about ten feet even though we were already outside. I think not.
So you're just going to fire a man without hearing his side about how these 'poor children' were talking about lynching black people and hanging them from trees for the 4th of July? Who needs enemies with friends like that? Instead of talking to your employee and standing by them, you threw them to the wolves to try and isolate yourselves from this 'issue'. ... welp, you now have an issue.
This bar has horrible workers very rude rllly weird off vibes like somthing is wrong with this place. Idk what it is but there’s very off set vibes. They have weird guidelines that make no sense. They will kick you out over anything. Not worth going. SHOULD ACTUALLY HE SHUT DOWN
This place discriminates against blind people.. the claimed a women was INTOXICATED when in reality she was just blind and was holding onto her sister for guidance. The security that floats around the far lies about who is the manager and WILL NOT bring the manager up to speak with you if asked. THIS EMPLOYEE NEEDS TO BE FIRED
This place is trash. Music is terrible. Bought 6 drinks and paid 80$, and we're talking vodka or rum and red bull. Place had about 60 people in it, and never more than 5 dancing at a time. If I could give it less than a star, I would. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!
Reading all the bad reviews and a recent video of the "the boss" discriminating against a blind person stating he was just doing "his job" throwing her out because she looked intoxicated?? Her sister stated she had glass eyes!!!! Hire new staff!
This place kicks more people out than they let in. And never have a balid reason. Always cutting people off after a drink or two. Not to mention those drinks are super overpriced and weak
Politically biased, if not they would have given the name of the x part time employee to the police. Oh and service and food is very substandard.
There was proof of them discriminating an individual with disability. Kicking them out like that without apologizing says a lot. Don't go there.
A group of 8 18-21 year olds went in front of us because they knew one of the bar people working. The bouncer(not the person they knew) did not check 1 persons ID. There was a long line they cut in front of and no one IDs checked.. I just find that very unprofessional
They discriminated a blind girl because she “look drunk” is ALL OVER TIKTOK!!! stay away from this business. The guy did not seem to care or work things out he just wanted them out. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
one night i was there and the bouncer or manager just a man in a red shirt w a hat on kick a lady out because she was blind which enraged me so please consider going to a different bar :)
The treatment this establishments employees' give to their patrons is absolutely abhorrent. Discrimination, abelism, and racism are all words us previous customers have used to describe this bar. I recommend choosing a more inclusive place to have a night out. The BBB have been contacted for this businesses I'll practices
This specific location has discriminated against a visually impaired women. Accused her off being intoxicated, lured said women and her cousin out of the bar thinking they were going to speak with the manager. This location should be SUED and shut down for having horrible service.
Went here with a group of friends, it was hot outside and I wanted a frozen drink. I maybe had 2 drinks leading into the night and got denied a drink because I was “too drunk”. Wouldn’t even serve anyone in my group a drink because of me either. What a joke of a bar.
The music was beyond too loud. The security guys were very rude!! :( I was told this place was cool, but that wasn't the case at all. I was asked to leave for sitting by myself having a beer. They asked me to go sit inside and when I refused, I was told I needed to leave.
Not a single employee here has a brain. ADA was enacted in like 1990, friends. It's been enough time for people to have become aware of its presence. And if you deduce someone is drunk by their actions but are then corrected that the reason they seem so is due to a disability, there is no shame in apologizing and accepting your mistake. Be wary of your pridefulness; too much of it will be your downfall.
Drinks are overrated and overpriced. Bouncers were extremely rude and wouldn’t tell us why someone in our group was cut off from drinks. They then proceeded to kick us out and threaten to tase us when we asked questions and tried to collect our friends. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to “Slackers” instead of this pathetic excuse of a bar
Discrimination is illegal in the US. Denying a blind person because they are blind is absolutely disgusting. This place should be closed down. And the worker that harrassed that young woman should be fined.
A bar that won't remain open for long. Discrimination and breaking as many state and federal laws as they do... stay out of Texas owners and employees of rumble go else where. You're no longer welcomed or wanted nor have you ever been needed. Be gone and stay gone.
dishonest establishment, they charged me $6 in tips after I'd left a cash tip, I never tip with my card. Unethical.
Better places to spend your money that don't openly discriminate against disabled people. Really freaking disgusting what their staff does. And surprising it was mainly a black guy who gets discriminated against himself enough I'm sure... that he's the one that openly discriminated against a blind woman and was a complete and disgusting jackass while doing it. Trust me, don't go here. Plenty of other places to find a drink, a welcoming atmosphere, and employees with more than half a brain cell.
Unprofessional staff, kicking out disabled people assuming they are drunk and refusing to allow the patron to speak to management to sort it out. Pretty sure discrimination towards a disabled person in illegal but also very bad business. The video is on social media, good luck denying it.
If I can give it -5 stars I would! They accused a woman who turned out to be blind of being too intoxicated and were trying to kick her out. The customers tried to explain this to the employee and it was very obvious once explained however the employee doubled down and continue to kick them out. Then when the customers expressed their experience they were blocked on all social media‘s. They released an apology later however I feel once that employee double down on kicking them out and once they blocked those customers for expressing what happened their apology is Null and void. Many many many people who I’m sure have not taken the time to write out a review have expressed their horrifying experiences as well on the customers comments under their video. Such as the following “some frat boy poured alcohol on me and I got kicked out for it” “ One time we were kicked out for being too drunk we had one drink” “ every time I’ve gone there they’re always kicking people out for no reason“ “One of their bouncers tackled my friend because she was asking a question he grabbed her by the neck and dragged her out” “ my husband got kicked out we’re pretty sure it was because he’s Asian”
Got charged $110 on New Year’s Eve for 4 drinks when it was clearly posted drinks were $5. We also got 3 shots of patron which means this place has $20-$30 patron shots! Didn’t get a receipt to tip after I asked for one???? Where the shots that expensive or did yall tip yourself?
Security here sucks! Rude and aggressive. We were just getting our night started, ordered our firstvdrink of the night, we walk to a patio heater that was of, we told security and this guy goes off on us for "turning it off even thoughwe had just arrived! To top it off he told the bartender to not serve us. Security also said that they dont need our $. Ok buddy, theres plenty of other bars with great customer service that are happy to have us.
I went here and it was my first time and i paid $36 and tipped cash because i hate leaving a tip on the card… well someone added a tip lol so i was charged $44… y’all got a thief
Apparently a military ID is viewed as “unacceptable” here. Super rude service and a manager that refused to speak to me about it respectfully. Was told to google the tabc guideline. Which I did ( states a military ID is acceptable as it’s GOVERNMENT ISSUED) was still not allowed entry. Piss poor service for a bar in a military dominate city.
They discriminated a girl *mind you* THAT WAS BLIND! Saying she was drunk, they like to discriminate people and use the excuse that they are drunk or "my boss said". That is not good customer service. If I can I would give them no stars but 1 star is all I can do.. PLEASE SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN! If they don't like how you look get ready to be kicked or dragged out for no reason..and good luck finding the "boss" to talk too
Bar back pulled a knife on me bc they thought I cut the line to order when I have been standing in front of the bartender for twenty minutes. so me responding to them to get my order in they took it as me being out of hand and needed to be escorted out by knife. That was my first drink order sober as a bird.
The bartenders have zero personality and the chick tipped herself. Not gonna talk with my bank because clearly she needed the $30 bucks more than I did. But I would have never tipped her that much. I work in the service industry and CANNOT imagine talking to customers the way she talked to me. Super rude
Considering the fact that all the reviews that are negative have everything to do with staff, does this place have any plans to properly train the staff? We were greeted with a door man/bouncer of some sort with a clear attitude problem telling us we couldn’t use the unlocked and open side gate. Instead of asking politely to not use the side gate, he ordered us “you can’t use that gate, don’t do that again” as if there’s some repercussion and in a way that he wanted a rise out of us. We maintained silence because we don’t stoop to negative and immature levels, and instantly decided to go over to the Paper Tiger instead. Btw, the Paper Tiger was awesome.
Waited in line for 45 minutes (party of 2) to get in. Once we were in the front the bouncer at the gate in the picture saw a bigger group walk up so he brought them to the front of the line told us to move back and said bigger groups get priority to get in. It was a group of 3. Apparently the open tables were only available for larger groups (3+). Awful customer service, go down the street at least they have an organized list.
When I finished my drink, I saw a piece of metal from the bottle fell into my cup. It was a dark drink so I didn’t see it at first until after I finished my drink. When I brought this serious issue to the attention of the staff, they brushed it off, saying I was fine and that “nothing happened” to me. What’s even worse is they didn’t offer any replacement drink or compensation for the situation. This lack of concern for customer safety and the dismissive attitude of the staff is unacceptable. I understand that accidents can happen, but the way it was handled shows a complete disregard for customer care. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who expects basic respect and safety.
Very disappointed with the scam this place is trying to pull. This place use to be always dead. Until they started doing 4 dollar margaritas on Wednesdays. Then they got a little business. Then I am supposed with full price one Wednesdays. They said the reason for full price is that they expect to be busy. Don't yall have cheap drinks to get busy? They said they put it in the flyer... where are the flyers? "Online" I checked online and there is no such flyers saying that the drinks are full price for busy Wednesdays. This is bad practice and I will no longer be coming here.
I had an extremely upsetting and humiliating experience at this establishment after midnight on the night of 6/15. While the bar was closing, I was let in by the people working the DJ booth after kindly asking to use the restroom. As I rushed to the restroom, the bartender barged in on me mid-use, literally as I was pulling down my underwear, and started yelling at me, saying, “You can’t be in my bar!” Let’s be clear, I understand the bar was closed. What I don’t understand is why this bartender felt it was appropriate to violate my privacy, open the bathroom door while I was exposed, and yell at me in front of others who could clearly see what was happening. Instead of giving me 30 seconds of privacy and handling it like an adult afterward, she chose to embarrass me in a completely avoidable, aggressive, and unprofessional way. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I’ve been a regular here, but after this, I won’t be returning. This experience left me feeling humiliated, disrespected, and completely unsafe. The situation could’ve been handled with basic decency, but instead I was treated with zero respect, even though I had been allowed in by staff. Do better.
